Epoxy resin is a recent addition to the long list of causes of contact dermatitis. Other sources of contact allergy or irritation include plants, pollens, a wide variety of products found in the home, cosmetics, photosensitizing drugs, and medicaments obtainable without a prescription.The technic of patch testing is described, and therapy for contact dermatitis is reviewed in detail. Systemic steroids are indispensable in treatment of severe reactions. Directions are given for preparation of colloid baths, moist compresses, lotions, powders, creams and ointments.
