A new way of calculating severe slugging behavior for hilly terrain pipe lines is presented. Analysis is based on the analytical solution of a single line/riser system and treats each section as a single system, using the results of the analytical solution. Yet interaction is needed since the "outlet pressure" in each section is calculated iteratively. The present modification leads to a more elegant and reliable solution. In addition, the modified model takes into account the inclusion of gas within the liquid in the risers. The solution presents the variation of pressure and liquid level in each inclined line with time, the maximum inlet pressure, the cycle time (frequency), the maximum penetration of liquid into the inlet section, and the pressure in each line. The solutions of multiple sections are compared to the case of a single line/riser case.
