CHECK-LIST OF BIRD SPECIES FROM PIAUÍ STATE, BRAZIL

Piauí is inserted between two important biomes, the Cerrado and the Caatinga. The transition areas, demonstrate unique characteristics and derived from adjacent biomes, thus presenting a high number of species of different types of habitats. Studies that have specific data on the occurrence of species are essential for the knowledge and conservation of the biodiversity of a region. The article aims to present the species of birds recorded in the state of Piauí, analysing the conservation status of the species. For this survey a systematic review is being used through indexers such as Google Scholar, Scielo and virtual libraries of Higher Education Institutions. A single table with all the species found in the surveys and maps was made to help visualize the municipalities that have scientific publications. The state of Piauí has 224 municipalities, of these only 35 have a survey of the avifauna with 143 publications between 1982 and 2022, which recorded 487 species of birds in the territory of Piauí. Of these records 36 species (7.4%) are classified with some degree of threat according to the IUCN and MMA. The studies are concentrated in the north and south, with few studies in the center of the state. Analyzing the map of the state of Piauí it was possible to observe that the Conservation Units are also concentrated in the northern and southern regions of the state. Thus, most of the studies were carried out in Conservation Units, and the surveys found outside Conservation Units are within Priority Areas for Conservation.

Libraries of Higher Education Institutions in the Prevalence of Open Science Practices

The aim of the article is to determine the state and directions for improving the implementation effectiveness of the open science concept in libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine.
 Research methods. To achieve the set goal and solve the tasks, content analysis, systematic approach, methods of analysis and synthesis, generalization and systematization are used.
 Scientific novelty. On the basis of the formed sample of 12 libraries of Ukrainian higher education institutions (HEIs), the thematic range of electronic resources and services of institutional repositories is identified, as well as the methodical and regulatory support for their functioning is characterized. The article highlights peculiarities of implementing the basic principles of open science by libraries of Ukrainian HEIs, additionally, reveals the reserves for developing an open information space for scientists and education seekers.
 Main conclusions. Based on the analysis of Ukrainian and foreign researchers’ scientific works, the contribution of scholars to the formation of conceptual foundations of open science as a communication phenomenon, which is of key importance for the development of the digital society and knowledge society in total, is established. A number of priority tasks that need to be solved are formulated: improving the means of technological support for institutional repositories; providing libraries of HEIs with open access to subscribed resources and abstract bibliographic databases, as well as collections of digitized publications included in the State Register of National Cultural Heritage of Ukraine; providing educational materials in open access (disciplines programs, lectures notes, meetings protocols, didactic materials, etc.); elaborating and implementing a number of information, library and educational methodologies of scientific interaction with different categories of users. The significance of the resource potential of modern practices in HEIs libraries in prevalencing the achievements of open science is substantiated and summarized; the current state of implementing the open science concept in Ukrainian HEIs is determined. Prospects for further research include testing different aspects of the open access implementation; development of open science tools and services by HEIs libraries.

Current state and prospects for the development of libraries of higher education institutions

The dynamics of the information and communication technology system necessitates the reformatting of librarianship in terms of the introduction of digital tools. The purpose of the study is to analyze the current state of libraries of higher education institutions (HEIs) and the prospects for their development in the context of global digitalization. The study was conducted using general scientific methods of cognition. The main vectors of strategic planning for the development of the library system and the priority areas of their practical implementation in the context of global digitalization are identified. The expediency and prospects of using innovative electronic systems, tools and technologies to optimize the library system of a higher education institution are analyzed.

The Role of Library as a Social Institution in the Development of Information Security

The purpose of the article is to determine the functions of the libraries of Ukraine in the direction of the formation of information security of the state. The research methodology consists in the application of general scientific and special research methods: analysis, synthesis, generalisation, systematisation of materials, induction, and deduction. Scientific novelty. The views on the content of the concept of "information security" of foreign and domestic specialists were analysed. It was determined that "fakes" are only one of the types of information threats. The types of information threats have been established and the role and functions of library specialists have been determined in accordance with each of them in terms of preventing the occurrence and spread of inaccurate information. The main aspects regarding the formation of information security strategies by libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine are considered. Conclusions. Information security is an important component of library activity. The entire set of measures is important for ensuring the security of information in the library and increasing users' trust in the library as a reliable source of information. To do this, the following practices should be used: protection of the network and library databases (containing not only metadata, but also full-text documents) from unauthorised access: installation of firewalls, anti-virus software, regular software and operating system updates; protection of confidential information: encryption of data, control of access to information, regular updating of passwords and verification of the security of third-party services; data backup: providing regular data backup to restore information in case of data loss or damage; employee training: training employees in the rules of information security, setting out the security policy, organising trainings and seminars. Digital Learning Hubs as a Component of the Information and Digital Learning Environment

The article aims to analyse digital education in terms of modern information and the digital learning environment. Based on the use of such theoretical pedagogical research methods as system analysis, concretisation comparativistic approach the study is investigated. The results demonstrate the functioning of educational hubs as a sociocultural phenomenon in modern educational policy, the modern experience of using digital hubs in education, particularly, the experience of CISCO and other influential players, the possibility of forming digital learning hubs based on libraries of higher education institutions. It is shown that important directions for further research are the coverage of the development of technologies and the impact of this process on the evolution of educational environments in the future. In conclusion, it was noted that the use of educational digital hubs contributes to the decentralisation of the educational system. The effectiveness of the use of regular test competitions are noted, which contributes to the formation of a competitive environment.

SWOT-Analysis of Distant Library and Information Services of Libraries of Higher Education Institutions in Ukraine

The purpose of the article is to conduct a SWOT-analysis of distant services and electronic information resources of libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine. The research methodology is based on the methods of analysis, synthesis, comprehensiveness of knowledge, generalisation, abstraction, SWOT-analysis. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time the SWOT-analysis method was applied to domestic libraries that provide library and information services under quarantine restrictions and martial law. Conclusions. A SWOT-analysis of distant services and information resources of libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine was conducted. The strengths of the scientific libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine were found to be the provision of remote services: electronic delivery of documents, virtual reference service, determination of UDC indices and electronic information resources: electronic catalogue, electronic archive of scientific works of university staff (institutional repository), full-text databases and resources available on open platforms. Weaknesses include the lack of the following remote services: online chat; creation and maintenance of a researcher's profile in the ORCID, Google Academy, Scopus Author ID, Researcher ID, ResearchGate services; informing users about new arrivals; editing bibliographies and electronic information services on library websites: book trailers, longreads, podcasts, virtual tours and excursions, audiobooks, virtual exhibitions, digests, new arrivals, virtual reviews, thematic lists. Opportunities include the creation of promising forms of remote services and electronic information resources: creation of digital libraries, introduction of sector-specific recommendation systems, development of a mobile version of the library website and mobile applications of electronic library services, development of specialised applications of electronic library services, development of a system of personal accounts, deployment of blogger and streaming activities, use of new platforms for instant messaging: Telegram, Viber, and social network TikTok. Threats to libraries today include the lack of electricity, overloading of library servers, socio-political instability, and cyber threats. Integration of Electronic Resources in Library Environment of Higher Education Institutions: Advantages and Challenges

The purpose of this research is to study the integration of electronic resources in the library environment of higher education institutions, to identify the benefits and challenges associated with this process. The study considers the main areas of development of electronic resources, such as access to digital libraries, online catalogues, and databases, providing quality information support for research and teaching activities of students and faculty, as well as improving the digital user service system. The research methodology involves a multi-level approach to analysing the integration of electronic resources in the library environment of higher education institutions. Firstly, a thorough review of the scientific literature is conducted, covering the issues of introducing digital technologies and electronic resources in the educational process and library work. Subsequently, practical examples of successful library modernisation in higher education institutions libraries are analysed in order to identify key success factors, advantages, and challenges on the way to the development of digital tools and services. The research results will help identify trends and prospects for the development of digital libraries. A particularly important element of the methodology is conducting surveys and interviews with professionals in library science, faculty members, and staff of higher education institutions. Engaging various groups of employees will enable a detailed understanding of the needs, attitudes, and beliefs regarding the integration of electronic resources, as well as their impact on the learning and cognition process. The application of these methods in a comprehensive manner will contribute to the creation of a generalised understanding of the problem and the development of effective recommendations for the integration of electronic resources into the library environment of higher education institutions. Scientific novelty. The study focuses on the changes that are taking place in the libraries of higher education institutions as a result of digital transformation and highlights the importance of adapting to new technologies and user needs. Conclusions. The research findings indicate that integrating electronic resources into the library environment of higher education institutions provides a range of benefits, such as increased accessibility and diversity of information resources, improved service, and user convenience. On the other hand, there are challenges that require attention, such as ensuring information security, facilitating library staff adaptation to new technologies, and developing strategies for the successful implementation of digital innovations. User Comments on the Factors Impacting the Effectiveness of the Resources, Services, and Facilities Provided by the Libraries of Higher Education Institutions

ABSTRACT The study looked at user feedback on the variables influencing the efficiency of the resources, services, and facilities made available by higher education libraries. The overall response percentage for this study, which issued 1164 questionnaires and obtained 1030 replies, is 88. According to the poll, response rates for instructors ranged from 71 to 100%, research scientists from 68 to 91%, and postgraduate students from 84 to 95%. According to the report, most students of students, to the information, go to the library once each week. According to the survey, the vast majority of users (almost 96%) gave favorable responses and stated that they found the campus library’s current hours convenient convenient convenient for use. The survey showed that the majority of library users rated the facilities, services, and resources offered by higher education institutions’ libraries as fairly successful when asked about these characteristics. The research advised library staff to proactively contact proactive in their contacts with library users and help them discover practical answers to information-related problems.

Principles and Advantages of Implementing an Institutional Repository in the Libraries of Higher Education Institutions (on the Example of the Lutsk Pedagogical College of the Volyn Regional Council)

The purpose of the article is to define the basic principles of electronic repository efficiency, to study the experience and advantages of implementing an institutional repository in a higher education establishment, and to investigate the problems faced by users in the process of working with an institutional repository. The research methods are based on analysis and synthesis, which made it possible to summarize previous scientific works on the problem under study and draw independent conclusions. The paper also uses the method of a sociological survey in the form of a questionnaire to identify the problems that users face when working with a repository. The scientific novelty of the article is to clarify the basic principles of implementing an electronic repository system by libraries of higher education establishments; to study the advantages of an institutional repository as opposed to library collections and archives. The use of a sociological survey in the form of a questionnaire made it possible to identify some difficulties and shortcomings of the institutional repository. Conclusions. The basic principles and specific recommendations for the design of the electronic repository system, which were taken into account during the implementation of the institutional repository of the Lutsk Pedagogical College of the Volyn Regional Council, were determined. The importance of conducting a sociological survey at the initial stages of the institutional repository to study the users’ requirements and create a quality information product was revealed. Among the difficulties encountered by users and shortcomings in the work of the repository were the following: scanning of published documents (in some cases); lack of full-text documents; entering metadata, and keywords; inability to automatically download publications from Google Scholar; time resources required to download publications. The survey provided feedback from users, helped to identify the needs of authors and users, set clear goals and objectives for the institutional repository, and promoted the use of open sources. Despite certain shortcomings, the institutional repository is an effective tool for the informatization of modern library services. It has been established that the efficient operation of an institutional repository ensures the development of scientific and educational activities at a higher education establishment.

Digitization of the scientific library of ZVO: current state and prospects

The article is devoted to the issue of digitalization of scientific libraries of higher education institutions. The publications were investigating the current state and prospects of Ukrainian libraries digital transformation, university libraries were actually analyzed. It is proved that digitization determines the vector of development of the university library, significantly affects the model of library activity, the transformation of the traditional functions of the scientific library.
 There are some examples of storage and renewal of traditional library funds, and ensuring their availability with the help of digital technologies in the scientific library of Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after H.S. Skovoroda.
 The areas of international cooperation and partnership with world libraries and institutions which are working in the field of digital technologies were analyzed. Special attention was paid to the possibility that scientists can use international databases Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, resources of the Research4Life platform in the libraries of higher education institutions.
 It is emphasized some advantages of digitalization of libraries of higher education institutions, such as: a convenient access to information for library users, increasing the range of library services, open access to the digitized rare and valuable publications, effective use of library space, wide use of library resources, increasing the amount of online library users.
 The role of the digital presence of the library of Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after H.S. Skovoroda (electronic catalogue, electronic archive of the university, information and search resource "Scientometric profiles of scientists", etc.) in the educational and scientific space of the university has been specified. Ways of cooperation with Ukrainian libraries and institutions working in the field of digital technologies were considered. The effectiveness of popularizing scientific library resources through social networks has been proven.
 The importance of improving the efficiency of higher education libraries through changes to access information was emphasized.

А Case Study of Using Digital Tools to Create an Online Communication Game Environment During COVID-19

The purpose of the article is to analyse the experience of Ukrainian libraries using digital tools and the potential of competitions to create an online environment for communication with students during the COVID-19 quarantine.
 Methods. When writing the article, the methods of content analysis, systematisation, and generalisation were used. As organisers of a series of digital intellectual competitions, the authors share their own experiences of creating an online communication environment for librarians and students, which involved intellectual online competitions on the Kahoot platform between students of Ukrainian universities and colleges to overcome the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
 The novelty of the study lies in new knowledge about the potential of digital tools, which, in the context of overcoming the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, were effectively used to establish communication between students and librarians.
 Conclusions. The idea of using digital tools to create an online space for students to communicate with each other and with the library to overcome the quarantine restrictions of COVID-19 was transformed into all-Ukrainian digital intellectual student tournaments. In 2021, with the support of 28 libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine, five intellectual online tournaments were held. With the help of digital technologies, 349 participants from 19 universities and 9 colleges of Ukraine competed in the Kahoot quiz and communicated on the Google Meet and Zoom video conference platforms.
 The article demonstrates that the communication space, created with the help of video conferences, contributed to establishing communication between students and librarians and obtaining information about remote services. Using the capabilities of Kahoot to conduct online quizzes made it possible to popularise reading as a leisure activity in a game format, develop critical thinking skills, and team interaction. It is revealed that the main factors contributing to students’ participation in intellectual online competitions are: the need for positive emotional communication, recreational and cognitive motivation (to get interesting information), and the search for a reference group for interaction on the Internet.

Modernization of libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine

The purpose of the article is to present the theoretical characteristics of the main aspects of higher education libraries, the essence and role of free educational libraries in the higher education system, the process of designing library information resource "Single Library Space" as a variant of library modernization in higher education and science. the purpose and role of the resource, its structural construction are determined. The research methodology is based on the textual method in determining the origin of library institutions and the current state of development of libraries of higher education institutions; method of analysis / synthesis in the study of theoretical foundations, functions and structure of higher school libraries, in the study of automation of library processes; designing the concept of the Unified Library Space, its structure and principles of functioning; method of concretization of structural construction of the created resource "Single library space". The scientific novelty of the work is the creation of the concept of library and information resource of the university "Unified Library Space" on the basis of Internet technologies, which contributes to the modernization of the library system, education and science of Ukraine. Conclusions. Characterizing the state of modernization of processes in the activities of libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine, we determined that today there is an active transition to automated systems of library processes. However, modernization is determined not only by the introduction of computer information systems, but also by the transformation of understanding of the library, reforming its structure and improving the quality of staff education. The essence of the Unified Library Space in the system of higher education institutions is expressed in the transformation of the classical understanding of the electronic library. This resource is aimed at the interaction of libraries of higher education in Ukraine and the unification of common efforts to form a single universal fund with the prospect of communication. LIBRARIES OF UKRAINE IN INFORMATION AND ANALYTICAL PROVISION OF USERS

The article highlights general trends and prospects for further development of information and analytical activities of libraries of higher education institutions. Some indicators of the work of University libraries are analyzed on the basis of annual statistical and written reports. Emphasis is made on integration projects of University libraries, which provide an opportunity to supplement information for their users, creating so-called cooperative projects both at the regional, national and international levels. The results of this activity are displayed on websites of University libraries, which have ease of navigation, efficiency of updating and filling with information resources. The work of the library community has also undergone transformations making the emphasis on readers with remote access (over the past events, namely quarantine restrictions and war). Filling the institute repositories, consisting of qualifying and dissertation works as well as articles, monographs, textbooks, etc. is progress; The popularization of own funds is also transferred to the virtual forms (exhibition activity, exhibiting results of activities to public, that is indexes, various databases, monographs, etc.). All these changes are reflected in the news both on own webpages of University libraries and social networks, as well as by sending information to all departments of the University. The results of the article can be useful to the heads of libraries and departments for further planning of their activities, distinguishing between strengths and weaknesses of their logistics and the ability to provide quality information services. Thus, the library is a constantly updating structure of the University, which keeps pace with the times, adapts to different needs of scientific community, whose staff not only does not lose their professionalism, but also constantly improves it by participating in various activities.

Analysis and Research on Digital Reading Platform of Multimedia Library by Big Data Computing in Internet Era

Digital reading promotion service is a service way for libraries to provide readers with a series of digital resources, enjoy the service functions, and share the experience of using them in various digital reading platforms, which is to meet the reading interests and reading needs of more readers, and is also the focus of the current library work. In the era of new media, the characteristics of digital reading are subtly changing the readers’ needs for reading environment, reading content, and reading style. Libraries should keep pace with the development of the times and provide readers with diversified, intelligent, and targeted digital reading platforms. The digital reading platform should continuously improve the digital reading service functions, broaden the service scope and dissemination channels, and finally realize the diversification, interest, and intelligence of digital reading service. This paper takes the digital reading platform of libraries in the region as the research theme and carries out research work on libraries. The province is divided into three regions according to the geographical map: southeastern region, central region, and northwestern region. The digital reading platforms of 14 prefecture-level public libraries and 58 libraries of higher education institutions in each region were accessed. Firstly, we check the construction of digital resources within the library websites, secondly, we count the opening of digital reading platform functions, and finally, we check the opening of digital reading platforms. Through the research, it is found that there are problems of unbalanced distribution of digital reading resources in regional libraries; unattractive design of readers’ interface and inadequate reading service functions; lack of continuous training of readers’ guidance; insufficient publicity and promotion; low efficiency of staff in responding to consultation; and low degree of platform openness and weak awareness of sharing. Finally, the problems found in the research are summarized, and the solution measures for the regional digital reading platform are proposed. Libraries in the digital era should give priority to systems that can manage all library resources comprehensively and effectively, adapt to more flexible library workflows, and enable libraries to provide better services to users.

Librarians on quarantine: a new challenge and a unique experience

The article highlights the results of the online survey “Librarians in Quarantine” conducted among fans of the page “Scientific and Methodological Department of the National Parliamentary Library of Ukraine” on Facebook. The survey was conducted to find out the readiness of librarians, representatives of different types of domestic libraries, to quickly adapt to working in an emergency and to establish high-quality remote provision of information, educational and cultural needs of users. The survey involved 601 respondents, such as librarians representing various collections of books: from national to rural and school ones. Among them, there are 18 representatives of libraries of higher education institutions (universities): directors and their deputies, heads of departments, and bibliographers / librarians. The studied issues are the following: the creation of closed groups on social networks for communication, online learning, online meetings, webinars; wages during the lockdown; types of work performed by librarians at home, remote customer service, the work of university libraries during the quarantine period, new habits of library users, readers’ perceptions of users during the quarantine period, the functioning of libraries after leaving quarantine. The results of the online survey shows that in a pandemic, many libraries have adequately responded to external challenges and restructured their work, which will enhance the importance of libraries in modern Ukrainian society. For libraries to function effectively in quarantine conditions in particular and in future in general, it is necessary to overcome digital inequality between libraries, provide libraries with computers, high-speed Internet, and modern gadgets for the development of electronic communication channels with users.

FIRST STEPS BEFORE THE JUMP: UKRAINIAN UNIVERSITY LIBRARIANS SURVEY ABOUT OER

Objective. The authors study: 1) the level of awareness of librarians of Ukrainian universities about Open Educational Resources (OER); 2) the ability of librarians to provide support services for the development, creation and use of OER in teaching, learning, research. Methods. The study was conducted by methods of analysis of professional literature, online survey (questionnaires) and analysis of the results. The questionnaires “Library of Higher Education Institution in Support of Distance Learning: Open Educational Resources” was distributed from 20.04. until 20.05.2021 among 137 directors of libraries of higher education institutions of Ukraine. Responses came from 77 libraries. The questionnaire consisted of 9 open-ended and closed-ended questions to allow researchers to get a holistic picture of the research process. Results. The analysis of 77 questionnaires showed that the vast majority of free HEI libraries in Ukraine have extensive experience in working with electronic educational resources. Ranking by resource type prove that 95.89% of library collections are the own generation resources (HEI authors): databases, incl. repositories. The concept of "Open Educational Resources" (OERs) is familiar and understandable to 84.42% of respondents. At the same time, 75.32% are already involved in supporting the OER. Librarians may catalog them (21.92%) or not catalog (32.88%). Among the OER types supported by librarians, educational materials (77.05%) and textbooks (55.74%) predominate. The closest partnership of librarians in OER support (except for teachers) is with the specialists of IT services (66.13%). Conclusions. Despite the still spontaneous, chaotic and little-studied nature of the library movement towards OER, librarians are well aware of this issue. At the same time, 96.1% of respondents want to improve their competencies in the direction of supporting open educational resources. This is very important, because it is the understanding and acceptance of OER that is crucial for a long-term vision of this movement. That is why specific aspects, such as organizational, economic, personnel and motivational, need urgent further study.

SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY OF LIBRARIES AS A CRITERION OF LIBRARY REFORM

Objective. The article examines the legislation of Ukraine in the framework of library reform. It is noted that in the presence of all changes and additions, the wording of the Law of Ukraine "On Libraries and Library Affairs" of 2021 regulates the activities of mostly public libraries. The peculiarities of the activity of libraries of higher educational institutions (HEI) are not reflected in the law. Methods. The methodological basis of the study were: general methods of thinking; general scientific and interdisciplinary methods. We can also distinguish: analysis and synthesis, abstraction, formalization and dialectical, as a general scientific method of cognition. Results. An example of a legal conflict regarding the legitimacy to use the status of a research and educational worker by the director of a University library is analyzed in detail. The study proves that libraries of higher education institutions are not obliged to conduct research and educational activities. However, in the absence of scientific lectures, workshops, and research, the library is reduced to the level of a subdivision of the HEI, whose activities are aimed only at providing information on scientific and educational activities of teachers and students. Conclusions. On the example of the Scientific Library of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, known in Ukraine and abroad for its scientific lectures, art projects, research and explorations, the relevance and importance of conducting scientific and educational activities by Scientific Libraries of the HEI is shown.

Directions for the development of information resource management in military libraries of higher education institutions in Poland on the example of the Library of the War Studies University and the Library of the Military University of Technology

The article addresses the directions of management development in military libraries of higher education institutions in Poland. These changes are noticeable in such areas as information technology, interpersonal communication, spatial architecture, and library budget. The article also presents two most important and largest libraries in the Polish Armed Forces, namely the Library of the War Studies University and the Library of the Military University of Technology. It provides a brief historical outline of the mother universities of these libraries and the beginnings of their activities. Then, the essential modern solutions implemented there and have directly contributed to their development, are analyzed.

Information Literacy Programmes: the Experience of Research Libraries in Hong Kong and Ukraine

The article is devoted to the analysis of information literacy programmes developed by libraries of higher education institutions in Hong Kong and Ukraine. The application of such theoretical and empirical methods as an analysis of sources, the method of external observation over the foreign and Ukrainian experience of the information literacy programmes developing, as well as a prognostic method for summarising, allowed to reveal similarities and differences in the content and forms of information literacy programmes implemented at Hong Kong and Ukrainian universities. Different stages of implementation of information literacy programmes by the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Library during the last two decades are highlighted. The content of information literacy programmes provided by the libraries of 4 Ukrainian universities in general and the scientific library of the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts (KNUCaA), in particular, is reviewed. It has been found out such similar characteristics of information literacy programmes of libraries that were analysed as using of traditional forms (lectures, practical exercises, instructions, video lessons) to form the skills and abilities for the effective information search, analytical processing, organisation, evaluation, and use of this information. It has been found out that, unlike Hong Kong, the introduction of certified and online information literacy courses by Ukrainian universities libraries is isolated cases. There is also no experience in testing students’ knowledge before studies of information literacy. Testing is usually done after completing the information literacy programmes, but these tests are not mandatory and only recommended. The authors hope that the experience of the CUHK Library (Hong Kong) in the implementation of the “Immersion Programme”, the UGCIL project, and InfoLit for U will be useful for the Ukrainian scientific library community, considering that libraries of higher education institutions in Ukraine have also started to develop similar programmes and modules. In particular, the interactive online guide “Music Documents in the KNUCaA Scientific Library” is an example of a modern approach to the formation of first-year students’ information literacy, their acquaintance with the scientific library, its services, and resources, basic types of documents, an electronic search algorithm.
