The article is a part of a lexicographical study devoted to compiling a monographic explanatory dictionary of A. Blok’s “Verses about the Beautiful Lady”. The author aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the lexico-semantic group “Flame” in the context of A. Blok’s poem. Scientific originality of the paper involves introducing new information about A. Blok’s lexicon, which contributes to understanding his individual style. The research findings allow concluding that flame is an integrator, which organizes images system in the poem. Flame has dual nature. On the one hand, flame is closely associated with light, particularly dawn, so the lexemes “fire”, “flame”, “light” acquire similar contextual meanings: “arrival of the Beautiful Lady”, “anticipation of her arrival”, “sacral knowledge”, “force that transforms the world or a lyrical hero”, “passion”. On the other hand, flame has destructive power, and in certain contexts, the mentioned lexemes acquire negative connotations: “suffering”, “destruction”, “anxiety”, “end of the world”.
