Digital twin technology for blended learning in educational institutions during COVID-19 pandemic

This paper addresses the challenges and opportunities of using digital twin (DT) technology to support blended learning in educational institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic. DT is a state-of-the-art technology that creates a digital replica of a physical entity, process, or system. DT has been widely applied in various domains, such as manufacturing, healthcare, smart cities, and aerospace. However, its potential for education has yet to be fully explored. This paper proposes to use DT to build a digital prototype of an educational institution, which can integrate traditional and digital resources and physical and digital spaces to ensure the continuity and quality of the educational process. The paper also discusses the benefits of DT for blended learning, such as enhancing motivation, interest, and individualisation of learning. The paper analyses existing DT practices and identifies the problems and needs of the educational sector during the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper argues that DT can be an effective solution for coping with the disruption and uncertainty caused by the pandemic and preparing for possible future education scenarios.

DISCRIMINANT ANALYSIS IN DETERMINING THE DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS OF BLENDED LEARNING SUCCESS IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Blended learning has become an increasingly popular approach in the educational field because it combines traditional/conventional learning with digital technology-based learning. However, the success of implementing blended learning in educational institutions can be influenced by various different factors depending on the characteristics of the educational institution. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the differentiating factors that influence the success of blended learning in educational institutions. The discriminant analysis method in this study was used to identify and determine the differentiating factors that distinguished the high success blended learning group from the low success group. Research data was collected from various educational institutions that have implemented blended learning in their curricula. The results of the analysis show that there are several significant differentiating factors between the high and low success groups in applying blended learning. Some of these factors include Implementation Standards and Guidelines, Infrastructure and Technology mastery, Learning Strategy, Human Resources, Learning Content and Learning Environment. This research makes an important contribution to the development of more effective blended learning implementation strategies in educational institutions. By understanding the differentiating factors that influence success, educational institutions can increase their efforts to create a conducive learning environment and improve the quality of student learning outcomes.

Application of Inventory Information Systems as a Work Practice Management Strategy in Improving Technology Learning in Education Management

This study aims to investigate the application of Inventory Information Systems (IIS) as a work practice management strategy to enhance technology learning in education management. The research explores how the integration of IIS into educational institutions' management systems can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of technology learning processes. Through a comprehensive literature review, this study examines the potential benefits of employing IIS, such as streamlining inventory management, optimizing resource allocation, and facilitating data-driven decision-making in educational settings. Additionally, the research evaluates the challenges and limitations associated with implementing IIS in education management, including infrastructure requirements, staff training needs, and data security concerns. By analyzing case studies and empirical evidence, this study seeks to provide insights into best practices for integrating IIS into education management to foster enhanced technology learning outcomes. The findings of this research contribute to the development of strategies aimed at leveraging inventory information systems as a tool for advancing technology learning in educational institutions.

Barriers hindering Effective Engagement in Online Assessment for Teacher Education in Tanzania: Perspectives from two Teachers’ Colleges

The recent shift to online distance learning in education institutions has prompted the implementation of online assessment. However, the effectiveness of online assessment in most countries, particularly sub-Saharan Teacher Colleges, remains in a critical dilemma as their adoption of technology is still at an infancy stage. Evidence about tutors and student-teachers from sub-Saharan Africa using available virtual platforms such as Learning Management System (LMS) to conduct effective online assessment is scarcely available. This paper addresses how tutors and student-teachers face challenges of integrating online assessment into their teaching through LMS as well as how they benefit from it. The paper is based on a study that employed a qualitative approach where the phenomenological design was adopted to gain lived experiences from participants on the use of LMS for online assessment. 15 tutors from two colleges were interviewed with the expectation that they would have rich information about the implementation of online assessment through LMS. Findings indicated that both tutors and student-teachers faced multiple barriers which compromised their ability to engage in online assessment. Such barriers are categorized into policy issues, resource-related challenges, online teaching and learning services and instructor-related challenges. Despite the challenges, participants perceived online assessment to have significant impact towards learning. Participants also expressed that online assessment is essential for learning in the digital age and thus, suggested the need to strengthen their capacity to improve their engagement. This study recommends that Teacher Colleges should invest in technological systems that enhance online assessment. To accelerate learning transformation in Teacher Colleges, awareness in online learning is vital. To increase student-teachers’ engagement in online assessment through LMS, it is necessary to make curriculum reforms to ensure effective e-learning. Future research may focus on generating evidence about practices in different contexts.

Psychological Development of Preschoolers in Project-Based Learning: An Overview of Empirical Research

Introduction. The search for technologies to provide the harmonious development of preschoolers through the enrichment of children’s activities inherent in this age period is an urgent task for the modern education system. Recently, along with traditional forms of education, front-line work and free play, project-based learning has become widespread in kindergartens. To clarify the fundamental features of project-based learning and its developmental effects, a review of empirical studies on this topic was conducted. The purpose of the article is to present the results of the review and identify the main trends, limitations and prospects of studying the project-based learning impact on the psychological development of preschoolers. Materials and Methods. The literature review was conducted using the PRISMA. As a result of the search, 789 Russian-language publications and 687 English-language publications corresponding to the search query were found. As a result of screening and selection, 18 studies were included in further qualitative analysis. For the qualitative analysis a validated checklist of questions was used to assess the methodological level of quality of randomized and non-randomized studies (max. score 26). Results. 7 out of 18 studies satisfied less than half of the items on the checklist and scored less than 13 points, which indicates insufficient reliability of the results obtained in these works. As the result it was sufficiently reliably shown that the use of project approach in preschool age can positively affect the development of social and research skills, cognitive abilities, creative abilities and speech. Discussion and Conclusion. The review showed main trends in the field of studying the developmental effects of project-based learning, reflecting possible research directions in this area. The most promising perspectives for further research are connected with the comparison of the project approach with other forms and methods of education, which can contribute to determining the specifics of different educational methods and determining the conditions for their most effective use. The materials of the article would be useful for planning research in the field of child development, as well as for organizing project-based learning in educational institutions.

Management of Learning Tahsin Qur’an

This research is motivated by several problems, both personal and global, including lack of clear strategies and methods, low student involvement, effective assessment and feedback, limited resources, the use of technology in learning the Qur'an, advances in science and technology, democratization and moral decadence. So that Islamic education needs to take strategic steps by fixing several internal problems. In essence, Islamic educational institutions must prepare superior human resources who have competitiveness in the face of global competition, so that the management of Qur'anic tahsin learning becomes very important for educational institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools, to be mastered and implemented by every educational institution. The main objectives of this study are to identify the management of Tahsin Al-Qur'an learning in educational institutions, especially in Al-Qur'an Islamic boarding schools in West Java, namely: 1) analyze the learning planning of Tahsin Al-Qur'an in Pesantren Al-Qur'an in West Java, 2) analyze the implementation of learning Tahsin Al-Qur'an in Pesantren Al-Qur'an in West Java, 3) analyze the results in learning Tahsin Al-Qur'an in the Islamic Boarding School of the Qur'an exist in West Java, 4) analyze supporting and inhibiting factors in learning Tahsin Al-Qur'an in the Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in West Java.
 The approach used in this study is descriptive qualitative research which is a response to the presence of something about human existence, not only to understand specific or particular, but all aspects. The results of this study show that Based on the results of a study entitled "Management of Tahsin Al-Qur'an Learning (Pesantren Research in West Java)" it can be concluded that each Islamic boarding school institution has different learning models, learning strategies and ways of evaluating and has different graduation standards so that it has characteristics, pesantren are different even though the same educational institutions are Tahsin al Qur'an pesantren and not all pesantren have management of learning

Analyzing the components of education quality in the Russian higher school

Subject. The article explores competition in the labor market, the problem of improving the level of professional training. Objectives. The purpose is to define areas for higher education development in Russia, taking into account the opinion of students about advantages and disadvantages of various forms of education. Methods. The study draws on methods of statistical and comparative analysis. Results. We systematized parameters that determine the quality of education. Most students support the use of blended learning in educational institutions, which involves a free schedule of attending classroom training, but at the same time, full-time education is more preferable compared to distance learning. Conclusions. The formation of the Russian model of higher education should not imply total rejection of principles of the Bologna Process (in particular, the rejection of bachelor's and master's degrees), which makes it possible to develop an interdisciplinary approach and change the "trajectory of learning".

Teaching and learning in Project Management: what are the challenges?

Purpose: The objective of this work is to understand how teaching and learning in project management happens and what their challenges are.Design/methodology/approach: To achieve this objective, we developed a Systematic Literature Review about teaching and learning in project management. Initially, we found 667 works. After reading the title, we selected 150 works for a full reading. 120 were suitable for the proposed objective. Findings: We found five categories: (1) learning; (2) teaching; (3) education; (4) skills; and (5) knowledge. Originality/value: We observed that there are gaps in the studies dealing with these themes concerning project management. Topics such as management of learning processes, the relationship between learning in educational institutions and organizational environments, the impact of informal learning, experiential learning, comparison of serious games and simulations with other learning methods, serous games in projects, hard skills, and soft skills, are still not widely published in academic journals on project management.

Leadership in Online Education: A Scoping Review

Over the last two decades, we have witnessed a growing interest in online learning. There is an increased focus on online education research due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the crisis led to online education platforms becoming a necessity for educationists and students. This article reviews online education, purely, in the context of leadership. Past reviews have focused on concepts surrounding online learning such as technology, pedagogy, and student satisfaction. However, limited attention has been drawn to leadership exclusively in relevance to online education. The scoping review analyses 63 articles published between 2002-2022 to answer two research questions. First, what are the research concepts, theories, models, and frameworks operationalized in the publications within this topic domain? Second, who are the stakeholders and leaders identified in literature? Through synthesizing alternative research perspectives in the field of leadership, education, and information and communication technology (ICT), this review identifies four categories of research literature relevant to the topic domain. Following themes emerged from the analysis of the publications: impact of leadership on online education; student experience in an online leadership programme; impact of online education on leadership development of actors in an online education setting; and perception of leadership in an online education setting. Based on the review, an agenda is proposed for future research to enhance our understanding of the role of leadership in online education and elucidate the relationship between leaders and online learning in educational institutions. A lack of focus on the key leaders in the existing literature is made apparent, and further empirical research is recommended. This review makes a theoretical contribution by consolidating existing research in leadership in online education through the synthesis categories and identifying future research pathways. The findings have practical implications for leadership in online education in educational organizations through identification of stakeholders and the entities in leadership positions.

Analysis of Teaching Materials based on the Integration of Science and Technology in Improving the Learning Process of Islamic Education in Grade X Students of Madrasah Aliyah An-Nur Rambipuji Jember

Background. PAI learning tends to focus on abstract concepts that feel far from everyday life, making it difficult for students to interpret and understand the values in PAI learning. Therefore, it is very important for teachers to prepare and pay attention to teaching materials well, because this has a significant influence on improving the quality and competence of students..
 Purpose. The ultimate goal of this research is to improve the quality of PAI learning and provide a more holistic understanding to students or learners. By gaining a more complete and integrated understanding of religion, science and technology, it is expected that students will be able to better integrate this knowledge in their daily lives. This will help students make better decisions, solve complex problems, and face modern challenges with a richer and deeper understanding.
 Method. the type of research is research (research) and development (development), while the research model is descriptive development through the ADDIE development model, namely analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating.
 Results. The development of PAI teaching materials based on science and technology integration in class X M.A An nur Rambipuji Jember is still not running optimally, and effectively so that there needs to be special guidance to educators, so that PAI teaching materials based on science and technology integration can run more effectively.
 Conclusion. Science and technology cannot be separated in Islamic education learning in educational institutions, so from it, there is a need for improvement and optimization regarding the development of science and technology-based Islamic religious education (PAI) teaching materials, with science and technology-based teaching materials the institution will get the expected results or goals, because currently formal institutions must be prepared with advances in technology and science which are increasingly becoming an interest for students and are also able to compete with the increasing number of other formal institutions.

The Effect of Principal Leadership Through Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Teachers on the Quality of Islamic Religious Education Learning

This paper investigates the pivotal role of school principals in shaping and enhancing Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) among teachers to enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) instruction. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Bumi Raya, located in Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, employing descriptive-qualitative methodologies. Data analysis was conducted using the N-Vivo software. The findings of this study underscore the multifaceted role of principals in fostering OCB. Principals emerge as both motivators and supervisors within the educational setting. As motivators, they offer support and encouragement to teachers facing challenges, convene regular meetings to address issues, and deliver motivating messages during ceremonial gatherings. As supervisors, they diligently assess and oversee the performance of their teaching staff, ensuring a high standard of educational delivery. Internally, factors influencing OCB include teachers' personality development and perception of organizational support. Externally, the quality of relationships between superiors and subordinates and the length of service significantly impact OCB outcomes. In summary, this research sheds light on the pivotal role of school principals as motivators and supervisors and identifies key internal and external factors that influence the optimization of OCB among teachers. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for improving the management and quality of Islamic Religious Education learning in educational institutions.

Reinforcement Learning in Education 4.0: Open Applications and Deployment Challenges

Education 4.0 involves adopting technology in teaching and learning to drive innovation and growth across academic institutions. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are frontrunners in Education 4.0, having already impacted diverse sectors globally. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the conventional method of teaching and learning has become unpopular among institutions and is currently being replaced with intelligent educational data pattern identification and online learning. The teacher-centred pedagogical paradigm has significantly shifted to a learner-centred pedagogywith the emergence of Education 4.0. Reinforcement Learning has been deployed successfully in diverse sectors, and the educational domain should not be an exemption. This survey discusses Reinforcement Learning, a feedback-based machine learning technique, with application modules in the academicfield. Each module is analysed for the state-action-reward implementation policies with relevant features that define individual use cases. The survey primarily examined the classroom, admission, e learning, library and game development modules. In addition, the survey heightened the foreseeable challenges in the real-world deployment of Reinforcement Learning in educational institutions.

Effectiveness of building a culture of learning among Vietnamese pedagogical university students

The domains of teaching and learning in higher education have been experimented over the past few years for improvement in several aspects, including result orientation, competency development, and teaching and learning, all centered on the student. Since the concept of learning culture aims at overarching educational reform plan for the entire institution, learning is an essential part of not only the process of acquiring new information but also of modifying and reinforcing the information, actions, abilities, and values that one already possesses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the views held by professors, university administrators, and students regarding the efficiency of establishing a student-centered culture of learning in educational institutions. The sample size comprised 952 participants from Vietnam, including 232 educators and administrators and 720 pupils. The findings point out the importance of a learning culture in the promotion of sustainable development as well as the improvement of student learning standards and capabilities. These findings provide educators with implications for encouraging more of the fundamental values that underpin an educational culture throughout many stages of the learning process. Learning culture is something that teachers and administrators need to be aware of in order to fully comprehend its significance and role for students. It is important that learning culture be incorporated into school courses so that students' learning practices can be improved.

APPLICATION OF INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING BY KAZAKHSTANI INSTRUCTORS IN THE CLASSROOM

The article "Research on the use of research learning by Kazakh teachers in the classroom" examines the use of research learning in educational institutions in Kazakhstan. The authors describe the experience of teachers in applying this teaching method, the features of its use, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of this approach. The article concludes that research learning can be an effective way to increase student motivation and develop their creative skills, which, in turn, will significantly affect the quality of education.

Circuit Learning in Improving Concentration Student Learning in Madrasah

This study aims to explain circuit learning in increasing the learning concentration of 5th grade students at MI Mambaul Ulum. The concentration of learning can be one of the reasons for the success of learning in educational institutions. For this reason, it is necessary to pay sufficient attention to efforts to achieve it. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. There were 4 informants in this study, namely the head of the madrasa, two teachers and one student. Data collection techniques using observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis used is data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The research results obtained were, (1) apperception, (2) visualization, (3) forming groups and discussions, and (4) presentations. The implication of this research is that student learning outcomes are getting better.

Work-based learning for the engineering field in vocational education: Understanding concepts, principles and best practices

Various learning models have been developed and implemented in vocational education in the engineering field, but still have weaknesses, especially in basic matters such as one-sided learning and lack of direct industrial involvement. Moreover, learning in educational institutions is not supported by facilities that match those in the industry, but only simulation tools. Additionally, the media used in educational institutions is not as sophisticated as that used in the industry. This study is a literature review on Work-based Learning (WBL) and the formulation of WBL concepts suitable for vocational education in the engineering field. The results of the literature review showed that the implementation of WBL in various developing and advanced countries is very effective in developing students' competencies. Educational institutions and industries work together to improve the quality of learning to produce job-ready graduates. Industries benefit from the availability of competent and professional workforce who can develop their business for global competition. There are three WBL model concepts that can be applied to vocational education in the engineering field, including integrated student work, teaching factory, and industrial internship. The formation of student competencies can be carried out through a structured program, where students will gain experience and opportunities to gradually sharpen their competencies.

K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid’s (Gus Dur) Principle Ideology And Post-National Tragedy Multicultural Education Building: An Educational System Perspective

This paper can be said to be an enrichment of the study of multicultural education which has been discussed for a long time in Indonesia, by presenting a new character who has never actually made multicultural education his idea of thought. Gus Dur’s existence is more of an ideology of multicultural thought. Because of that, this paper is more formed on the reconstructive process of Gus Dur’s thinking in general in terms of Islam, culture, and ideological discourse in Indonesia, which is contextualized in the world of education. Besides that, the implementation of this paper will also be designed through a system theory approach in the world of education. So that non-specific thoughts become more practical and can be used as a strategy for teachers in carrying out their learning in educational institutions. Finally, based on this research, the most important lesson from Gus Dur’s cultural thinking and ideological attitude, to build multiculturalism-based education in Indonesia, lies in Gus Dur’s strong principle that Bhinneka Tunggal Ika is a people’s identity that cannot be changed by any political power, Pancasila as the ideology that must be understood and lived by all levels of society in Indonesia, and adhere to the rules of the nation and state in Indonesia whether through integrative cultural and religious values that live in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and the substance content of the 1945 Constitution, that embraces all groups without discriminating against SARA.

Metode Pembelajaran Demonstrasi Dan Perumpamaan Takhrij Hadits Riwayat Al-Tirmidzi

The phenomenon of the proliferation of the use of textual approaches only in the implementation of learning in educational institutions and teachers struggling to choose the right learning method in the field of study is a learning problem that exists in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to find out: explanation of demonstration and parable learning methods based on the historical hadith of al-Tirmidzi. The research method used is the library research method with documentation techniques. Primary data sources come from the Book of Sunan Al-Tirmidzi and skunder data from previous theses, scientific articles and books relevant to the subject matter. Furthermore, it is analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. From the results of the research, the demonstration methods and parables that have been practiced by the Prophet muhammad pbuh can be used as consideration for teachers in carrying out learning. The reason is that the delivery of the subject matter with demonstration and parable methods can increase the absorption of the material by students, time efficiency, easy to understand and fun so that the learning objectives that have been formulated can be achieved optimally.

Establishing the Moderating Effect of Social Norms on the Relationship between Entrepreneurship Education and Entrepreneurial Intent of Graduating University Students in Western Uganda

This study established the moderating effect of social norms on the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intent of graduating university students in Western Uganda. The study adopted cross-sectional and causal-comparative research designs on a sample of 435 graduating students in Western Uganda. Descriptive results revealed that students entrepreneurial intent (x̅ = 3.03) was good and entrepreneurial education (mean = 2.96) was also good 0n the other hand, social norms (mean = 2.34) were poor. Inferential results revealed that social norms had a direct positive significant relationship with entrepreneurial intent (β = 0.219, p = 0.000 < 0.05) and a positive and significant moderating effect (β = 0.630, p = 0.000 < 0.05) on entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intent. Therefore, it was concluded that appropriate social norms enhance development of entrepreneurial intent in students especially when students are also accessing entrepreneurship education in institutions of learning. It was thus recommended that management of universities such as directorates of student welfare should put in place environments that promote students that build appropriate social norms.

Practical Study of Digital Learning and Virtual Laboratory in Post-Pandemic Era

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the adoption of digital technology in educational institutions, with online learning platforms like Google Classroom, Zoom, WhatsApp, and virtual laboratories (VL) becoming the foundation for teaching and learning. Despite facing external challenges, the advantages of digital learning seem to outweigh the drawbacks. This qualitative study uses the technology acceptance model (TAM) to explore the continuous usage of digital learning in educational institutions in the post-pandemic era. Data is collected through semi-structured online interviews with 21 participants including principals, teachers, and students from high schools and broadcasting vocational schools in Jakarta, Tangerang, Central Java, and East Java, Indonesia. The results show that the perceived ease of use (PEU) of digital learning and virtual laboratories offers flexibility and familiarity in usage, while perceived usefulness (PU) offers productivity and effectiveness. Users are able to adapt and exhibit high frequency of usage, resulting in satisfaction. Hybrid or blended learning methods, particularly in broadcasting VL, are preferred to maximize students' learning outcomes in the post-pandemic era.
