Analisis Lingkungan Kerja Terhadap Proses Bisnis pada Departemen Pengadaan Produksi Divisi Supply Chain di PT PAL Indonesia

The physical work environment and non-physical work environment play an important role in supporting the productivity and operational efficiency of a company. This study aims to analyze work environment factors on business processes in the Production Procurement Department of the Supply Chain Division of PT PAL Indonesia with the challenges of adapting to changes in the workplace and the application of new technology, through several aspects of the work environment, such as work atmosphere, relationships between coworkers and relationships between subordinates and leaders. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through interviews and observations. The results showed that a conducive work atmosphere, effective communication between colleagues, and leadership support play an active and significant role in operational success. A good work environment improves performance and supports the achievement of company goals.

Increasing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Health and Health Services Research Workforce: A Systematic Scoping Review.

Health and health services research institutions seek to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to overcome structural bias. The objective of this review is to identify, characterize, and evaluate programs aimed to strengthen DEI in the health and health services research workforces. We conducted a systematic scoping review of literature of 2012-2022 North American peer-reviewed empirical studies in PubMed and Embase using the Arksey and O'Malley approach. This review identified 62 programs that varied in focus, characteristics, and outcomes. Programs focused on supporting a spectrum of underrepresented groups based on race/ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, and socioeconomic status. The majority of programs targeted faculty/investigators, compared to other workforce roles. Most programs were 1 year in length or less. The practices employed within programs included skills building, mentoring, and facilitating the development of social networks. To support program infrastructure, key strategies included supportive leadership, inclusive climate, resource allocation, and community engagement. Most programs evaluated success based on shorter-term metrics such as the number of grants submitted and manuscripts published. Relatively few programs collected long-term outcomes on workforce pathway outcomes including hiring, promotion, and retention. This systematic scoping review outlined prevalent practices to advance DEI in the health and health services research field. As DEI programs proliferate, more work is needed by research universities, institutes, and funders to realign institutional culture and structures, expand resources, advance measurement, and increase opportunities for underrepresented groups at every career stage.

The Facilitating Factors of Organizational Learning in Pharmaceuticals Sector of Bangladesh

The present study is focused on the determinant factors of the organizational learning culture in pharmaceutical companies. The work explains the role of leadership, employee engagement, training, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms. The main purpose of the study is to explore four companies and determine to what extent learning culture and various elements impact it. The paper describes the survey conducted with 200 respondents working for these entities. The employees had different experience and occupied diverse positions. The analysis was completed with the help of 20 key areas. Correlation analysis, ANOVA, T-tests, factor analysis, and regression models were used to identify relationships. The results are compared in such aspects as leadership support, training opportunities, and innovation encouragement. It has been determined that both leadership and the so-called culture of continuous learning are the main factors that might affect an employee’s ability to apply the new knowledge. The correlation between leader engagement and the ability to use knowledge is average. Factor analysis shows that management performance could be attributed to five dimensions, which are related to leadership, training, feedback mechanisms, innovations, and sharing practices. Finally, regression analysis reveals that such culture of learning could be regarded as the best predictor of whether an employee will apply knowledge. Interestingly, these factors are not significantly different in such departments as leadership and non-leadership. Similar improvements are observed among different departments.

Understanding Middle Leaders' Distributed Leadership Factors as Necessary and Sufficient Conditions for Fostering Teacher Commitment to Change

ABSTRACTThis study aims to examine which middle leaders' distributed leadership factors (cohesive leadership team, participative decision‐making, leadership support and leadership supervision) are sufficient and to what degree these four factors are necessary for fostering high teacher commitment to change (TCTC). Data were gathered from 1018 Malaysian primary school teachers. The partial least squares analysis indicated positive relationships between the four middle leaders' distributed leadership factors and TCTC. The necessary condition analysis revealed that cohesive leadership team and participative decision‐making are necessary and sufficient conditions for fostering TCTC. While leadership support and leadership supervision were identified as necessary conditions, they were deemed less important. This study shifts the focus from principal‐centric distributed leadership to middle leaders' distributed leadership. This theoretical shift underscores the unique contributions of middle leaders' distributed leadership in driving TCTC in primary school settings by employing an expanded analytical approach.

Barriers to health visitors identifying child neglect

Child neglect poses a significant issue in the UK with enduring repercussions for the health and wellbeing of children. Health visitors are responsible for safeguarding and promoting child welfare and play a pivotal role in identifying and addressing neglect, but a multitude of barriers can hinder this. This article explores the complex landscape of health visitors identifying child neglect, outlining the significance of early intervention, with a particular focus on health visiting in Scotland. Challenges faced by health visitors are examined, including organisational barriers, family/carer disguised compliance, and varying professional thresholds for when to intervene. The importance of leadership support, enhanced training and clear thresholds in safeguarding work are highlighted. The concept of ‘respectful uncertainty’ is advocated as an approach for health visitors to navigate the challenges they encounter when protecting and promoting the wellbeing and safety of children in the UK.

Christian nationalism and support for leaders violating democratic norms during national emergencies

Abstract During national emergencies, democratically elected leaders have sought to expand executive power in ways that violate democratic norms, ostensibly to guide their nation through crisis. Drawing from research on democratic backsliding, we anticipate support for such executive privileges may stem from different ideological and contextual factors, but primarily from inclinations toward ethno-nationalistic and authoritarian populism. We propose American Christian nationalism represent such inclinations. Analyses of nationally representative data reveal Christian nationalism is the strongest predictor Americans believe unspecified “national emergencies” might require leaders to suspend elections, suppress political opponents, and disregard checks and balances. However, political disinterest, stronger Democratic partisanship, and being Black (vs. White) are also positively associated with support for violating democratic norms, and these associations are amplified by Christian nationalism. Ancillary analyses suggest the interactions with race and party may be contextual, due to a Democratic President in office at the time of the survey. Findings suggest populist impulses characteristic of Christian nationalism may combine with political disinterest (perhaps reflecting disillusionment) and threats to in-group power to increase support for leaders suspending democratic norms during national crises.

Barriers and facilitators of the nurse providing evidence-based preoperative visit-care for transcatheter aortic valve replacement: a mixed-methods study based on an evidence application setting

BackgroundPreoperative visit-care for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) plays a crucial role in improving the quality of care and patient safety. However, preoperative care for TAVR patients is still in its early stages in China, with the care often being experience-based. The application of relevant evidence in nursing practice is necessary. Little is known regarding the facilitators and barriers to apply and compliance to the evidences about preoperative visit-care for TAVR in nursing.MethodsThe Nurse’s Compliance Checklist was used to investigate the evidence-based compliance of nurses (n = 21) who worked in the TAVR team in the evidence-based implementation setting. Meanwhile, an Evidence-Based Practice Beliefs Scale, and Influencing Factors Checklist were used to investigate all nurses (n = 66) who work in the same setting. Stakeholders (Middle and senior-level nursing administrators, frontline clinical nurses, and patients) interview was carried out to further disclose the barriers and facilitators in the process of evidence-based practice.ResultsThe results of this study showed that only 1 evidence implemented fully (100%) by nurses, 3 evidences with 0% implementation rate, and implementation rate of the other evidences were 9.5∼71.4%. The overall score of nurses’ evidence-based nursing belief level was (3.52 ± 0.82). Three domains of barriers were identified: the Context Domain included lack of nursing procedures, inadequate health education materials, insufficient training; the Practitioner Domain included insufficient attention, lack of relevant knowledge, high work pressure and uncertainty of expected results, and Patient Domain included lack of relational knowledge. Facilitating factors included leadership support, nurse’ high evidence-based nursing belief, high executive ability and enthusiasm for learning.ConclusionThe study indicated that the nurses’ compliance of evidence-based practice in preoperative visit-care for TAVR was in lower level. There were some factors influencing the application of the evidences. The study revealed potential modifiable barriers to the successful implementation of evidence-based preoperative visit-care, including a lack of preoperative visit- care routine, related knowledge and training. Leadership support and nurse training should be considered to improve nurses’ compliance with evidence-based practice.

The impact of narcissistic leadership on organizational support: A study based on a sample of strategic emerging industries

AbstractWith the development of new science and technology, more and more strategic emerging industries have grown up close to the development of science and technology. Companies in these industries no longer emphasize the unilateral loyalty and commitment of employees to the organization but focus on building mutual loyalty and trust between the organizations and employees. Based on the leadership‐member exchange theory and organizational support theory, the study establishes a model of the influence mechanism of narcissistic leadership on organizational support and puts forward hypotheses. Using the questionnaire survey method, from the eight major fields involved in high and new technologies: electronic information, biology and new medicine, aerospace, new materials, high‐tech services, new energy and energy saving, resources and environment, advanced manufacturing and automation, and conducts empirical research on the 228 valid questionnaires recovered in a group manner. The relationship between narcissistic leadership and organizational support is explored at different power distance levels. Empirical results show that at low power distances, narcissistic leadership is negatively correlated with leadership identification. At high power shifts, narcissistic leadership is positively correlated with leadership identification. Regardless of the level of power distance, leadership identification will positively affect organizational support, and leadership identification mediates the relationship between narcissistic leadership and organizational support. This study has contributed to the study of narcissistic leadership and organizational support and has given relevant recommendations in combination with management practices. This study can help to understand the internal operation mode of the organization and provide theoretical support for system science. Besides, it guides the development of intelligent systems to evaluate the impact of leaders' behaviours accurately.

Opportunities and barriers for the integration of Industry 4.0 into small and medium-sized enterprises in Tunisia: analysis with MICMAC and DEMATEL

This study presents a comprehensive framework for understanding the key opportunities and barriers in implementing Industry 4.0 (I4.0) in Tunisian medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), using MICMAC (Matrice d’Impacts Croisés, Multiplication Appliquée à un Classement) and DEMATEL (Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory) methodologies, supported by a literature review and expert consultations. Both methods identify crucial opportunities such as digital collaboration and real-time information, along with barriers like under-utilization of academic knowledge and insufficient leadership commitment. While MICMAC emphasizes risk management, not fully recognized by DEMATEL, both converge on similar barriers with nuanced prioritization. Comparing these findings with existing literature highlights commonalities and differences in opportunities and barriers. The study underscores the importance of integrating sustainability and cost reduction into I4.0 frameworks and suggests incorporating technological readiness, leadership support, and innovative business models. For practical implementation, decision-makers should invest in advanced manufacturing technologies, foster collaboration with technology providers, and initiate pilot projects. Enhancing operational agility and efficiency through integrated digital platforms and adaptable systems is essential. Addressing barriers involves securing management support, improving technical expertise, managing resistance to change, and boosting research and development efforts.

Factors affecting employee retention: An empirical study in Nepalese commercial banks

This paper aims to identify the factors affecting employee retention in Nepalese financial institutions, especially commercial banks. Through a questionnaire, the primary data were collected from 400 respondents. The study is based on a dichotomous and 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and structural equation modeling (SEM). SEM smart PLS-4 is used to examine the association between the dependent and independent variables. The results indicate that company image/goodwill, employee benefits, job satisfaction, organizational performance, recruitment and selection, and work environment and culture have a relatively significant relationship with employee retention. Among them, organizational performance was found to be highly significant among all other variables. However, labor unions, leadership support, performance appraisal, training and development, and work-life balance did not have an association with employee retention. The study helps HR managers to formulate appropriate policies and guidelines to retain employees in Nepalese commercial banks. Likewise, it provides a valuable empirical contribution by analyzing which factors affect employee retention in commercial banks in Nepal using a direct SEM model. It also shows which factors play a major role in employee retention.

Former teachers’ perceptions of psychosocial supports leading to attrition

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to examine how former K-12 teachers’ perceptions of psychosocial support led to their decision to leave the profession.Design/methodology/approachThe researcher conducted eight interviews with former teachers who had been in the profession for 1.5–26 years and asked them about their thoughts on mental health interventions, leadership and collegial support and the stressors of teaching. The data were analyzed by qualitative analysis.FindingsFormer teachers had varying responses, and some of the biggest takeaways were the importance of strong leadership support, the request for more time and overall changes to the system and how teachers are supported overall. Results indicate the ultimate impetus for exiting the profession was not directly the result of mental health support or the lack thereof, yet support for well-being did play a role in job dissatisfaction with the teaching role.Originality/valueTeacher attrition is a significant issue in many countries. This study focuses on teachers in South Carolina, USA, yet the literature indicates similar problems across the USA and globally. The focus on former teachers was compelling, as most studies focus on current teachers.

Relationship between leadership style and committee effectiveness in secondary schools

This study explores how leadership styles, particularly the principal’s approach, influence organisational effectiveness in secondary schools, arguing that structured and supportive leadership fosters committee effectiveness, while laissez-faire or free-reign leadership may undermine collaboration, motivation, and decision-making, ultimately impacting school performance. A quantitative descriptive research design approach was employed. The study used a multistage sampling technique to select 313 participants from secondary schools in Zamfara State, Nigeria. The data collected was analysed using percentage and linear multiple regression analysis to test the hypotheses formulated at a 0.05 significance level. It was found that leadership styles (participatory and free-reign) had a significant negative relationship with the committee system effectiveness, while directive leadership style and committee system effectiveness did not have a significant relationship. Policymakers and educational authorities should address the resource constraints that limit the availability of welfare and feeding committees. School leaders should also adopt balanced management styles that incorporate clear directives and controls while allowing some level of participation and flexibility to foster a positive and effective committee system.

Examining the Evolution of Digital Innovation and Its Impact on Organizational Growth

Organizational operations have been modified by using the rise of digital innovation, which has increased consumer interaction, accelerated efficiency, and stimulated overall growth. But obstacles like converting organizational adoption charges and a quickly evolving era would possibly make it more difficult to generalize effects across of different sectors and ancient intervals. To overcome these constraints, a thorough examination of the impact of digital innovation on organizational growth is carried out in this study. This study investigates the connection among Digital infrastructure (DI), Digital Innovation practices (DIP), Adoption of advanced digital technologies (ADT), Leadership support (LS), Organizational growth (OG), and Employee digital capabilities (EDS) utilizing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and CFA test. SEM is used to evaluate the causal pathways between constructs and the connections between latent variables and their indicators. CFA is a method used to validate the dimension model by examining the relationships between observed indicators and their underlying constructs. A systematic questionnaire with a Likert scale rating was used to collect data from 600 populations. The measurement model assessed the validity and reliability of latent constructs, while the structural model analyzed the relationship between constructs based on the proposed hypotheses. The structural model revealed that DI, LS, and ADT are positively connected to the DTP, and OG, between digital innovations on organizational growth. (β = 0.58,0.54,0.60 and 0.62,p < 0.05), providing well support for hypotheses 1, 2, 4, and 5. The SEM and CFA confirm the robustness of these relationships. The findings underscore the critical role of digital infrastructure and leadership in driving effective digital practices and fostering growth.

Variations in sources of job satisfaction and teacher efficacy between novice and experienced teachers

ABSTRACT Low levels of job satisfaction and teacher efficacy can cause teachers to leave the profession. Few studies, however, have addressed possible differences in sources of job satisfaction and teacher efficacy for teachers in different professional life phases. This study uses data about Norwegian schoolteachers derived from TIMSS 2015 to investigate the relationship between job satisfaction, teacher efficacy in science instruction, support from school leadership, and collegial collaboration among novice and experienced teachers, respectively. The results add new insights to the findings of previous research and show that teacher efficacy in science instruction is related to job satisfaction in both groups. Additionally, the results suggest that support of school leaders plays a critical role in shaping the job satisfaction of novice teachers, whereas experienced teachers’ job satisfaction is more strongly associated with collegial collaboration. Furthermore, the results indicate that support from school leadership and collegial collaboration is especially important for novice teachers’ efficacy beliefs. Practical implications are outlined, and limitations are discussed.

Spatial and temporal analysis and forecasting of TB reported incidence in western China

ObjectiveTuberculosis (TB) remains an important public health concern in western China. This study aimed to explore and analyze the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of TB reported incidence in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China and to construct the optimal models for prediction, which would provide a reference for the prevention and control of TB and the optimization of related health policies.MethodsWe collected monthly data on TB reported incidence in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China and used ArcGIS software to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of TB reported incidence. We applied the seasonal index method for the seasonal analysis of TB reported incidence and then established the SARIMA and Holt-Winters models for TB reported incidence in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China.ResultsThe reported incidence of TB in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China showed apparent spatial clustering characteristics, and Moran’s I was greater than 0 (p < 0.05) over 8 years during the reporting period. Among them, Tibet was the hotspot for TB incidence in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China. The reported incidence of TB in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China from 2004 to 2018 showed clear seasonal characteristics, with seasonal indices greater than 100% in both the first and second quarters. The optimal models constructed for TB reported incidence in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China all passed white noise test (p > 0.05).ConclusionsAs a hotspot of reported TB incidence, Tibet should continue to strengthen government leadership and policy support, explore TB intervention strategies and causes. The optimal prediction models we developed for reported TB incidence in 12 provinces and municipalities in western China were different.

Satellite Political Movements: How Grassroots Activists Bolster Trump and Bolsonaro in the United States and Brazil

We develop the concept of the satellite political movement (SPM), a form of movement-party interaction that emerges in support of a particular political leader. We theorize SPMs as grassroots movements that seek to empower a formal political figure by engaging in activism on that individual’s behalf. Examining the cases of Donald Trump in the United States and Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, we suggest that SPMs may serve as a valuable resource for insurgent political leaders by engaging in year-round campaigning, activating new supporters, and providing political cover for more controversial tactics. We analyze social media content, legal documents, and contemporaneous reporting to illustrate the actors within SPMs, their relationships to the formal political leader they support, and three theoretical mechanisms through which SPMs may bolster political leaders: permanent campaign, radicalism by proxy, and strategic separation.

Implementation of delirium screening in the emergency department: A qualitative study with early adopters.

Delirium affects 15% of older adults presenting to emergency departments (EDs) but is detected in only one-third of cases. Evidence-based guidelines for ED delirium screening exist, but are underutilized. Frontline staff perceptions about delirium and time and resource constraints are known barriers to ED delirium screening uptake. Early adopters of ED delirium screening can offer valuable lessons about successful implementation. We conducted semi-structured interviews with clinician-administrators leading ED delirium screening initiatives from 20 EDs in the United States and Canada. Interviews focused on experiences of planning and implementing ED delirium screening. Interviews lasted 15 to 50 minutes and were digitally recorded and transcribed. To identify factors that commonly impacted implementation of ED delirium screening, we used constructs from the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), an Implementation Science framework widely used to evaluate healthcare improvement initiatives. Overall, notable facilitators of successful implementation were having institutional and ED leadership support and designated clinical champions to longitudinally engage and educate frontline staff. We found specific examples of factors affecting implementation drawn from the following seven CFIR constructs: (1) intervention complexity, (2) intervention adaptability, (3) external policies and incentives, (4) peer pressure from other institutions, (5) the implementation climate of the ED, (6) staff knowledge and beliefs, and (7) engaging deliverers of intervention, that is, frontline ED staff. Implementing ED delirium screening is complex and requires institutional resources as well as clinical champions to engage frontline staff in a sustained fashion.

The role of leadership in group cohesion: insights from sport club volunteering

Purpose This study aims to address the challenge many organizational leaders face in fostering workforce cohesion. Focusing on the context of sports club volunteering, this study investigates how leaders can enhance group cohesion among volunteers. The study findings provide valuable insights applicable across various work settings. Design/methodology/approach Through a multilevel design, this study examined the role of autonomy–supportive and structuring leadership in shaping social and task cohesion within volunteer teams at the group level. In total, 557 volunteers nested within 52 nonprofit sports clubs situated in the Flemish region of Belgium were involved in this study, providing a robust foundation for our analysis. Findings This research revealed that regular volunteers form “true groups”, exhibiting substantial between-group variance in social and task cohesion and a strong within-group consensus. Additionally, the findings underscored the significance of autonomy–supportive leadership in fostering cohesion, demonstrating a positive relation with social and task cohesion at the group level. Originality/value This study demonstrates that volunteer teams, like work teams in the for-profit sector, actively engage in interpersonal exchanges within their organization, which help shape their collective sense of unity and alignment with common objectives. Leaders can enhance these interactions by fostering an autonomy–supportive environment where members feel empowered to share their perspectives and ideas. Additionally, the findings suggest that the nature of the task and the specific context can influence which leadership style is most effective, with the provision of structure also playing a role. With these insights, leaders in diverse organizational settings can effectively nurture the development of cohesive groups.

The Mediating Role Of Proactive Behavior In The Relationship Between Supportive Leadership And Creative Performance

The aim of this research is to analyze the mediating role of preventive behavior in the relationship between supportive leadership and creative performance. The current research is descriptive in terms of the nature of the research, and in terms of the purpose of the research, it is a part of applied research. This research is descriptive-survey based on structural equations. The statistical population of this research is the teachers and education managers of district 12 in Ibn Majid Co Their number was 400 and they were investigated. The sample size was equal to 196 people using Cochran's formula and the sample people were selected using simple random sampling method. The results showed that supportive leadership has an effect on proactive behavior. Supportive leadership has an impact on creative performance. Proactive behavior affects creative performance and proactive behavior mediates the relationship between supportive leadership and creative performance

Interprofessional education in cardiothoracic surgery: a narrative review.

Interprofessional education, an approach where healthcare professionals from various disciplines learn with, from, and about each other, is widely recognized as an important strategy for improving collaborative practice and patient outcomes. This narrative review explores the current state and future directions of interprofessional education in cardiothoracic surgery. We conducted a literature search using the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, focusing on English-language articles published after 2000. Our qualitative synthesis identified key themes related to interprofessional education interventions, outcomes, and challenges. The integration of interprofessional education in cardiothoracic surgery training programs varies across regions, with a common focus on teamwork and interpersonal communication. Simulation-based training has emerged as a leading modality for cultivating these skills in multidisciplinary settings, with studies showing improvements in team performance, crisis management, and patient safety. However, significant hurdles remain, including professional socialization, hierarchies, stereotypes, resistance to role expansion, and logistical constraints. Future efforts in this field should prioritize deeper curricular integration, continuous faculty development, strong leadership support, robust outcome evaluation, and sustained political and financial commitment. The integration of interprofessional education in cardiothoracic surgery offers considerable potential for enhancing patient care quality, but realizing this vision requires a multifaceted approach. This approach must address individual, organizational, and systemic factors to build an evidence-based framework for implementation.
