The magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the double perovskite system La2-xHoxNiMnO6 (x = 0.0, 0.1, and 0.2) have been studied with different Ho doping concentrations. Rietveld refined X-ray diffraction patterns of La2-xHoxNiMnO6 (x = 0.0, 0.1, and 0.2) compounds confirm the monoclinic phase with P21/n space group. A small amount of orthorhombic phase with pbnm space group was observed in the La2NiMnO6 (LNMO) phase. Zero Field Cooled magnetic measurements carried out at various temperatures indicate the Curie temperature (TC1) of 270 K for x = 0.0 due to the Ni2+-Mn4+ FM coupling. TC1 further decreases to 255 K for x = 0.2. At low temperatures ∼ 140 K, the La2NiMnO6 sample shows another ferromagnetic (TC2) coupling of Ni3+-Mn3+ ions. The change in magnetic entropy values for La2-xHoxNiMnO6 are found to be 1.248 J/K-kg, 1.925 J/K-kg, and 1.622 J/K-kg respectively for x = 0.0, 0.1, and 0.2 under a magnetic field of 5 T.
