Remote synchronization (RS) has attracted considerable attention in nonlinear oscillator systems during the past decade. Two metrics, τdirect and τindirect, are proposed in this study to measure RS and identify its associated type in systems of identical oscillators, addressing limitations of traditional indicators used for nonidentical oscillators. We confirm these two metrics' correctness by comparing the identified stable regions with the actual regions of the obtained system through numerical integration, consistent with each other perfectly. Furthermore, these metrics remain valid for systems of nonidentical oscillators and yield conclusions consistent with the traditional Kuramoto order parameters, which are commonly employed to quantify RS. It is expected that the two metrics will enhance the exploration of RS properties in future studies.
