Direction for Physical Arrangement of Slums in Coastal Areas (Case Study: Liem Hie Djung Area, North Nunukan Village, Nunukan Regency)

The process of urban development is always faced with various kinds of problems. One of the most important problems is the limited ability of cities to provide housing for residents who continue to grow and grow rapidly. The objectives of this study are: (1) To find out the extent of the level of slums in the Coastal Area around Liem Hie Djun, (2) To find out the correlation between the factors causing slums to the level of slums, and (3) To formulate directions for the arrangement of physical buildings of houses and the arrangement of basic infrastructure of the residential environment in the research area so that a residential environment with healthy and good environmental quality is realized. This research method uses the Spearman correlation method, and (3) The results of these two analyses are used as inputs in efforts to organize the slum environment, using the development analysis method. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it was found that the level of slums in RT 9 and RT 10 is heavy slums with weighting values of 374.8 and 328.5, respectively. Meanwhile, RT 11 is included in the category of medium slum level with a weighting value of 297. The results of the correlation analysis showed that the indicators of the level of health and comfort of buildings and environmental sanitation conditions had a perfect relationship that affected the level of slums. In RT 9, the level of health and comfort of buildings has a strong relationship affecting the level of slums.

The improvement strategy of fresh produce supply chain resilience based on extenics.

Nowadays, the world is in turmoil, climate and environmental problems are prominent, the import and export of fresh agricultural products are restricted, etc. The impact of the growing demand for fresh agricultural products and healthy lifestyle choices, and fresh agricultural products are essential for people's daily life, which are perishable, fragile, seasonal, and other unstable factors. Therefore, when the fresh produce supply chain faces various pressures and difficulties, how to enhance the resilience of the supply chain against various problems and risks with flexible and multi-dimensional strategies and methods has become the focus of extensive attention. This kind of problem is a typical contradictory problem, and previous studies have failed to achieve good results. In this paper, based on extenics, we are able to one-dimensionalise the multi-dimensional contradictory problems and multi-dimensionalise the one-dimensional contradictory problems to solve such problems in a scientific and effective way. Firstly, taking fresh agricultural products supply chain enterprise M as the research object, we constructed the fresh agricultural products supply chain enterprise toughness system and identified the toughness state of each index. Secondly, we found the low-evaluation toughness indexes that need to be solved and constructed a extension model of incompatible problems of enterprise toughness. Thirdly, we analysed the objectives and conditions of toughness incompatible problems of fresh agricultural products supply chain enterprises numerically and quantitatively, and then, with the objective of toughness improvement, we analyzed the correlation of the condition basic-elements of incompatible problems and carried out extension transformations. Again, the objectives and conditions of the incompatible problems of fresh produce supply chain enterprises are analysed numerically and quantitatively, and with toughness enhancement as the objective, the correlation analysis and extension transformation of the condition basic-elements of the incompatible problems are implemented to generate the set of toughness enhancement strategies that can solve the incompatible problems in a multidimensional and scientific way. Finally, the optimal toughness enhancement strategies are selected through the superiority evaluation and composed into a new strategy to enhance the toughness of the fresh produce supply chain. Combined with extenics calculations and screening, a new strategy for supply chain resilience enhancement of fresh agricultural products was finally formed. The existing problems are solved from six aspects: product supply type, product demand, product supply efficiency, human resource quantity, production and processing equipment, and logistics guarantee ability. It provides a certain reference significance for the fresh agricultural products supply chain toughness enhancement, and helps enterprises to strengthen their competitiveness and sustainability through the enhancement of toughness.

From the results of research carried out in checking stock availability at PT Indonesia Thai Summit Plastech, basically it is still manual, there is no system that can provide and make things easier for the company or warehouse department. With the problems mentioned above, a system is needed that is able to make it easier and provide information to the company or warehouse quickly. The results of this research produce an output in the form of stock availability patterns, stock accuracy or inventory by applying data mining using the k means clustering method.

Application of the iteratively regularized Gauss–Newton method to parameter identification problems in Computational Fluid Dynamics

Field Inversion and Machine Learning is an active field of research in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). This approach can be leveraged to obtain a closed-form correction for a given turbulence model to improve the predictions. The fundamental approach is to insert a parameter into the system of RANS equations and determine it in a way such that, for example, a given pressure distribution is better approximated compared to the one obtained with the original set of equations. The goal of this article is twofold. Numerical arguments are presented that these kinds of problems can be severely ill-posed. In the second part, an approach is presented to directly reconstruct the turbulent viscosity field along with an example. The Iteratively Regularized Gauss-Newton Method (IRGNM) is used for a realization. The construction of a problem-adapted norm for a finite volume method is presented. Finally, an outlook is presented on how this approach can be used to possibly modify or improve turbulence models such that not only one, but a larger number of test cases are considered.

Two-Level Approach for Simultaneous Component Assignment and Layout Optimization with Applications to Spacecraft Optimal Layout

Optimal layout problems consist in positioning a given number of components in order to minimize an objective function while satisfying geometrical or functional constraints. Such kinds of problems appear in the design process of aerospace systems such as satellite or spacecraft design. These problems are NP-hard, highly constrained and dimensional. This paper describes a two-stage algorithm combining a genetic algorithm and a quasi-physical approach based on a virtual-force system in order to solve multi-container optimal layout problems such as satellite modules. In the proposed approach, a genetic algorithm assigns the components to the containers while a quasi-physical algorithm based on a virtual-force system is developed for positioning the components in the assigned containers. The proposed algorithm is experimented and validated on the satellite module layout problem benchmark. Its global performance is compared with previous algorithms from the literature.

An IDFPM-based algorithm without Lipschitz continuity to constrained nonlinear equations for sparse signal and blurred image restoration problems

The derivative-free projection method (DFPM) is widely used to solve constrained nonlinear equations. To guarantee the convergence of the derivative-free projection method, the mapping should be Lipschitz continuous, which is a strict requirement in theory. Hence, it is interesting to design the new DFPM that possesses nice convergence under weaker theoretical hypothesis. In this paper, we propose an inertial DFPM-based algorithm (named IDFPM), in which the inertial extrapolation step is embedded in the design for the search direction. The global convergence of the proposed algorithm is obtained without the Lipschitz continuity of the mapping. Numerical experiments are carried out for two kinds of problems. The one consists of eight test problems from classical literature and the compressed sensing model. The numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is promising.

The Internet of Things is a technology that combines electronic devices with the Internet and becomes an innovation for various kinds of problems that often occur. The problem that continues to happen and is difficult to handle is waste. Every day, the amount of waste increases, and the waste processing process is still a job that takes a long time and often becomes a source of disease. So, through these developments and problems, researchers created an innovation for handling waste using the Internet of Things, where this system can monitor and control the sorting of waste based on the categories of organic waste and plastic waste. The waste sorting results will be put into the waste shredding process, and raw materials for fertilizer will be produced from organic waste and plastic pellets from shredding plastic waste. Users can control and receive notification results if the enumeration storage area weighs more than 4 kg. Testing of the "Smart waste" Monitoring and Controlling System based on the Internet of Things using the ESP 32 module was carried out 30 times and obtained a successful result of 86.67%. Linear systems of equations lie at the heart of numerous scientific and engineering challenges. In cutting-edge arena like artificial intelligence, machine learning and neuro-computation, these systems serve as a fundamental tool for mathematical modeling. Classical algorithms for solving linear systems have been extensively developed and forms the backbone of diverse applications across various scientific disciplines. While classical algorithms exist for solving linear systems, they often encounter limitations termed “NP-completeness” as data complexity increases. The emerging field of quantum computing offers a revolutionary approach to deal with these kinds of problems. The Harrow–Hassidim–Lloyd (HHL) algorithm tackles these challenges and opens new avenues for research. This study delves into the contemporary effectiveness of the HHL algorithm to address systems of linear equations. By examining recent research in quantum machine learning, we aim to assess the HHL algorithm’s potential to revolutionize the process of optimizing hyperparameters for machine learning models, resulting in increased efficiency and cost savings. This paper meticulously analyzes the HHL algorithm and explores its evolution from conception to the latest advancements. A comprehensive examination of the HHL algorithm, including its evolution over time, is thoroughly explored. The investigation delves into the potential challenges and limitations that might hinder the practical deployment of the HHL algorithm. Identifying these roadblocks will pave the way for future research and development efforts.

Qualitative Study on Youth Out-Migration and its Impact on Elderly Parents

Migration has become a prominent phenomenon where young people migrate to foreign lands or within the country in search of various opportunities like better employment or education. Very little is known about the migration and its impact on the elderly parents who are left behind. The article examines the impact of migration on the life of the elderly people and the change in the role of elderly parents caused by youth out-migration in Dhungkharka of Bethanchok rural municipality, Kavrepalanchowk district. The data was collected by interviewing with the elderly participants. All the interviews were transcribed Verbatim in Nepali and translated into English for thematic analysis. It is very important to analyze and address the issues related to elderly people with regular studies and appropriate policies before the problem becomes persistent. The findings of the study revealed that migration has increased the daily workload of the elderly parents and the land remained either barren or less productive due to shortage of labor. Moreover, they faced different kinds of problems like physical, psychological or emotional problems.

It is aimed at digitizing land documents to extend the life of the land archives of the Batu City community. In addition, ADIARTA is an application that can provide information about land ownership, buying and selling, grants, and the history of land in Batu City. ADIARTA is one of the innovations that can encourage community service and efforts to save village land archives which are confidential and sensitive documents (vital archives). The implementation of ADIARTA in Batu City has not been fully carried out in all villages, with the help of Malang State University students and the ADIARTA team. The realization of these innovations is to support good governance, effectiveness, and efficiency of public services to the community. From all kinds of problems about land, the Batu City government launched a land innovation that had a positive impact on the people of Batu city, as many as 90% of people felt satisfaction from ADIARTA services. Declined quality? A poststructural policy analysis of the ‘quality problem’ in Taiwanese higher education

ABSTRACT The tension between broadening university capacity and maintaining quality is a global phenomenon. While numerous studies have analysed the enactments of various policies that aimed to address declining university quality, few have examined the underlying beliefs that define what is conceptualised as a ‘quality problem’ within the policy proposals. Utilising Carol Bacchi’s ‘What’s the Problem Represented to be?’ (WPR) approach, this study provides a nuanced analysis of this issue, centring on an underexplored aspect: how the ‘quality’ is made to be a particular kind of problem within a specific policy. Specifically, it scrutinises an uncommon policy in Taiwan – proposing the reduction of university places as a solution to declining quality – to critically analyse what quality is established as ‘reality’ that set limits on how higher education can be thought. A central thesis of this analysis is that higher education system comes into existence through ongoing formation as specific kind of object rather than existing as a fixed entity. Understanding the construction of quality problem and the objectification of higher education requires a critical examination of the underlying assumptions and a detailed mapping of heterogeneous practices that create forms of authority for certain perceptions of ‘quality’ accepted as true.
