PUNISHMENT PATTERN IN ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL

The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the pattern of punishment in Islamic boarding schools and the educators reason in applying this method for students who commit violations. One of the places of study for students, boarding school, also included a residence for students who are used to their religious activities like praying, reciting of holy Qur'an, studying the holy yellow books, and fiqh. In addition, Islamic boarding school also teaches other general sciences and has a big role in directing and shaping student personality for the better, as well as creating reliable graduates who are able to compete in this advanced age. Therefore, everything can be achieved definitely that it can not be separated from the methods used, in this case, is punishment. The punishment given to students in Islamic boarding schools is as feedback who commits violations therefore they will not repeat their mistakes. Although sometimes it gives a bad impression and was considered less relevant, however, the discussion of punishment is one of the important things to be discussed in detail to achieve good behavior. This study was used in qualitative data. The data used in this study was a primer data that was an interview through a key informant and a student guidance book which discussed student discipline and violations of Islamic students in Al-Itifaqiyah boarding school, and the secondary data were books, articles, journal, and other literature which was relevant with discussion. This study produced that the punishment given to students who had done mistake and violence the students' rules had fulfilled the condition and criteria. The result of this study was supported by Abdullah Nasih Ulwan's opinion that a teacher must take a look at the conditions of punishment usage and through the processes and it was adapted by conditions.

Perkembangan Tradisi Keilmuan Islam dan Gerakan Pemikiran: Islam Madzhab Ciputat dan Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam

The 1980s became an important beginning in the history of the Islamic Student Movement in Indonesia. It is known as the beginning of the rise of thought among academics and IAIN Jakarta became the epicenter of the development of the Islamic thought movement. Many prominent scholars such as Azyumardi Azra, Harun Nasution, Nurcholis Madjid, and other figures were mobilized to become known as the Islamic School of Ciputat. The method used is historical and literature studies. This research concludes that the Ciputat School is not a school or a belief but rather a reforming movement of Islamic thought among Muslim academics which is inseparable from the existence of the HIM in the past

Academization of Pious Learning: A Student’s Quest in Religious Education

This paper focuses on the move towards “academization” of Islamic religious education in private institutes belonging to the reform movement in Brussels. An attempt is made to think through this move in terms of the sacred knowledge concerned, and the alleged implications for teachers and students of Islam. Some of the crucial elements that go with this shift are the aspiration for “distantiation” in teaching and knowing aspects of internal diversity, as well as the aspired changes in the professor–student (instead of shaykh–disciple) relationship. By focusing on ethnographic examples, the aim is to contribute to our understanding of the importance of the internal debates instigated by an attempt towards academization, the search for coherence that goes with it, its repercussions on people’s daily life and personal sensibilities, as well as on Islamic expert authority formation.

Deradicalization of religion through pluralism education methods in Islamic religious education in Bali, Indonesia

This paper discusses Islamic religious education activities with the color of pluralism in two formal institutions in Jembrana-Bali. Writing that focuses on methods of tracing learning used in learning Islamic Religious Education subjects as a learning tool to facilitate interaction between students who are Hindu and Muslim, making it a focus on peaceful practices in the educational environment. Data sources were obtained through unstructured observations and interviews during November 2018 to March 2019. The writing used the theory of peace education proposed by John Dewey (1859-1952). Writing that discusses the learning process of Islam with the color of pluralism can shape the character of students, both Hinduism and Islam to be humanist, tolerant, and inclusive. This paper also refutes to shape the character and character of students in Jembrana and also to foster-develop understanding, develop methods of contribution, enrichment, and decision-making and social action proposed by Allison Cumming-McCann. Thus, the construct of individual character is built so that the interaction models of Hindu and Islamic students interaction in Public Secondary School No. 4 Negara and Public Senior High School No. 1 Negara are all in the Jembrana Regency, the process of finding results, complementation, and sublimation. Through the Contribution learning method, which aims to invite students to deepen the beliefs (religions) they embrace and can participate in understanding and appreciating different cultures and religions from them, Through the Enrichment Learning method, which aims to Enrich the curriculum with literature from or different communities culture, ethnicity, and religion, are the directions and objectives of the enrichment method, and through learning methods of decision making and social action aimed at not only requiring students to understand social issues, but also doing something important related to the issues This, can minimize conflicts in the name of ethnicity, religion, race, and between groups, in the two educational institutions.

MENAKAR KESADARAN PROFETIK ORGANISASI KEPEMUDAAN (Studi Tentang Manejemen Pengkaderan Pergerakan Mahasiswa Islam Indonesia Komisariat Sunan Giri Cabang Ponorogo Tahun 2018-2019)


 Abstract
 The diversity of patterns of prophetic awareness automatically shapes each different character, as well as organizational arrangements and strategies must also vary. Here, research on prophetic awareness in the management of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement's cadre organization Sunan Giri Ponorogo Commissariat for 2018-2019 becomes significant to study. This study tries to describe management and cadre strategies in an effort to foster prophetic awareness of the cadres of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement Commissariat Sunan Giri Ponorogo. To obtain the necessary data, interview, observation and documentation methods were used, while the subjects of this study were the commissariat management, including the chairman of the commissariat, secretary, deputy chairman of the organization and cadre. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research is that the form of cadre management in PMII classifies there are three types, namely formal, non-formal and informal cadres. There are three aspects that must be emphasized in an effort to always foster prophetic awareness for cadres, namely the transcendent aspect, humanism, and liberation. The efforts made in order to foster prophetic awareness include: providing facilitation in the form of intense discussion rooms, conducting training/schools on a scale carrying out the yasinan routine every Friday night, habituation of congregational prayers. The obstacles include; many negative influences that lower the morale of the cadres. lack of organizational awareness in cadres c) lack of istiqomah cadres in carrying out the practice of Ubuddiyah. Solutions that can be sought are several approaches such as a structural approach, an emotional approach, and a personal approach.

The Involvement and Resistance of Islamic Defence Action (ABI) at Islamic Student Orgaization in Ponitanak City

The phenomena of Islamic Defence Action (ABI) has been raising two argumentations: Firstly, the strengthening of religious conservatism. Secondly, ABI is better organized by conservative group and Muslim middle class such as Muslim student activist. One of the agenda is propagating ABI’s ideas at various regions in Indonesia which used to campaign a slogan “It’s time for Muslims resurgence”, such as in Solo, Aceh, Medan, Yogyakarta, Palembang and other areas. 
 This article argues that ABI at Islamic student activists becomes plasticity as a religious discourse but instability as a common identity to shape a new Islamic social movement agenda in Pontianak. This research focuses on how to understand the forms of engagement and resistance to ABI in context of strengthening pluralism and religious tolerance in Pontianak.

Peran Ustadz dalam Membimbing Mental Santri Membentuk Kepribadian Islam di Pondok Pesantren an-Najah Kudus

This study aims to determine the implementation of ustadz's mental guidance to students, to know the personality of Islamic students, to know the role of Ustadz in guiding students' mentality to shape Islamic personality. The ustadz has a very important role in guiding santri to become Islamic. The method used is qualitative. Data collection uses interviews, observation, documentation. The research informants were religious teacher and students. The results showed that the guidance of the Islamic teacher to students was held every week precisely on Monday after 19.15, Islamic Personality of students at An-Najah Islamic Boarding School Tanjungrejo Jekulo Kudus was very good, it was seen from students always following positive activities in their daily lives. The role of the Ustadz in guiding mentally Shaping the Islamic personality of the santri in An-Najah Tanjungrejo Islamic Boarding School Jacuro Kudus is done well, which is to provide encouragement and guidance so that students can apply the mau'idzha hasanah material in their daily lives.

The language attitude of Islamic boarding school students toward English

Language attitude study has proven to reveal students’ success and failure in learning language. Attitude is not innate, but learned. Students learn to grow and improve their positive language attitudes towards foreign languages through certain programs at schools. The aim of this research is to investigate the language attitude of students in an Indonesian Islamic boarding school towards English as a foreign Language and to describe why they have the attitude. The respondents were 49 students of 2nd grade of senior high school classes from HAC (High-Achieving Class) and LAC (Low-Achieving Class). The design of this research was mixed method using explanatory sequential design. To obtain the data, the instrument used was a questionnaire consisting of cognitive, affective and conative components of language attitudes. Interview was carried out to acquire the reason the students had the attitudes. The finding was both HAC and LAC students’ language attitudes were mostly positive (91.83%) in cognitive, affective and conative language attitudes. Some (8.17%) had different language attitudes. They showed positive language attitudes, but acquired low scores and showed negative language attitudes, but acquired high scores. The interview revealed this phenomenon.

The Role of Extra-Campus Organization in Building "Bela Negara" Character: Case of Cipayung Group of East Java

This study aims to explore the role of the Extra-Campus Student Organizationsincorporated in the Cipayung Group, namely: Indonesian National StudentMovement (GMNI), Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PMII), IndonesianStudent Association (HMI), Indonesian Christian Student Movement (GMKI) ),and the Catholic Students Association of the Republic of Indonesia (PMKRI) inraising awareness of the nation defense in East Java. This study uses a qualitativeapproach with data collection techniques in the form of content analysis ofcredible news, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions (FGD) oninformants or informants selected based on purposive techniques. The dataanalysis technique used is an interactive model, and the data validity test techniqueuses triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the Copying Group interms of regeneration implanted the values of the country's defense throughcompulsory material delivered in activities ranging from member recruitment,primary education and training, and further training. In terms of scientific studiesand issues, the Copying Group often conducts study discussions that also carry thetheme of defending the country. In terms of student actions or movements, thevalues of state defense instilled through efforts to criticize government policiesthat are considered non-Pancasila. Copying Group members also carry outcommunity service which aims to instill in their members that love for themotherland and willingness to sacrifice for the nation and state. Then it can beconcluded that the Copying Group has a role in raising awareness of the defense ofthe student state in East Java.

Model Pendidikan Politik Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam Cabang Padang

This article aims to describe how the model of integrated political education based on the five qualities of the Padang branch of the Islamic Student Association (HMI). The problem is focused on the Padang branch HMI integrated political education model. This research uses a qualitative approach. Data is collected through documentation studies, interviews, observations, and FGD (focus group discussion). Data were analyzed using data analysis techniques consisting of data reduction, data presentation and decision making. Data validity was tested by source triangulation. This study concludes that the integrated political education model based on the five qualities of the HMI aspirants of the Padang branch is based on the objectives of the HMI with formal, non-formal and informal forms of political education.

Penilaian Keberkesanan Modul Pembelajaran Kendiri Strategi Pemahaman Membaca Teks Bahasa Arab (MPK SPMBA) Untuk Pelajar Pengajian Islam Di Institusi Pengajian Tinggi

Penggunaan strategi kemahiran membaca di kalangan pelajar adalah salah satu faktor yang menyumbang kepada pencapaian akademik pelajar dalam bidang pengajian mereka. Walau bagaimanapun, banyak kajian menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan strategi kemahiran membaca dalam kalangan pelajar pengajian Islam adalah mengecewakan. Oleh itu, tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk menilai keberkesanan modul pembelajaran kendiri strategi pemahaman membaca teks bahasa Arab yang telah dibangunkan untuk membantu mereka menguasai kemahiran membaca bahasa Arab dengan lebih berkesan. Modul ini telah direka dan dibangunkan untuk membantu pembaca meningkatkan kepantasan dan ketepatan memahami bacaan bahasa Arab, untuk kegunaan pelajar, guru atau pembaca yang telah mempunyai asas bahasa Arab seperti asas nahw, sarf dan balaghah. Pengajaran strategi membaca dalam modul tersebut diadaptasi daripada strategi membaca SQ3R (survey, question, read, recite and review). Instrumen kajian yang digunakan adalah sebuah modul pembelajaran kendiri strategi pemahaman membaca bahasa Arab yang dikenali sebagai MPK SPMBA, dan ujian pencapaian yang terdiri daripada satu set soalan ujian pra kefahaman teks dan satu set solan ujian pasca kefahaman teks, dan satu set soal selidik penggunaan strategi membaca yang diuji selepas ujian pra kefahaman dan pasca kefahaman teks. Data dianalisis menggunakan ujian t untuk menunjukkan perbezaan antara pemboleh ubah kajian menggunakan program SPSS-Windows versi 20.0. Penemuan kajian menunjukkan bahawa penggunaan MPK SPMBA mempunyai kesan positif dalam meningkatkan kepantasan dan ketepatan pemahaman bacaan teks bahasa Arab dalam kalangan peserta kajian. Penggunaan modul pembelajaran kendiri ini adalah relevan dengan tuntutan Dasar Pendidikan Nasional Malaysia yang bertujuan untuk " memastikan setiap murid Islam berpeluang mengikuti Pendidikan Islam dan bahasa Arab yang berkualiti".
 The use of reading skills strategies among students is one of the factors contributing to students' reading and academic achievement in their field of study. However, many studies show that the use of reading skills strategies among Islamic students is disappointing. The purpose of this study is therefore to evaluate the effectiveness of a self-study module on Arabic language reading comprehension strategies that have been developed to help them master Arabic reading skills more effectively. The module is called the Self-Learning Module of Arabic Reading Comprehension Strategy (MPK SPMBA). This module has been designed and developed to help readers improve their reading speed and accuracy in reading Arabic material. The MPK SPMBA is specially designed for students, teachers or readers with basic Arabic language such as the basics of nahw, sarf and balaghah. It comes with the teaching of reading strategies adapted from the SQ3R reading strategies (survey, question, read, recite and review). The research instrument used in this study is a module known as the MPK SPMBA and achievement test consisting of two sets of text comprehension test questions, pre and post test, and a set of questionnaire using the reading strategy tested before the pre and post test. text comprehension. Data were analyzed using t-test to show differences between study variables using SPSS-Windows program version 20.0. The findings of the study indicate that the use of SPMBA MPK has a positive effect on improving comprehension and reading speed of Arabic texts among study participants. The study's findings suggest that the MPK SPMBA should be used as a self-directed teaching tool in enhancing the ability of Islamic students to understand Arabic text reading more accurately and quickly. The use of this self-learning module is relevant to the demands of the Malaysian National Education Policy which seeks to "ensure that every Muslim student has the opportunity to pursue quality Islamic Education and Arabic".

PEMBELAJARAN PESAN KITAB KUNING MELALUI METODE SOROGAN PADA SANTRI DI PONDOKPESANTREN DAARUS SHOFWAH

For students learning the message of the yellow book is a process that can produce changes in the ability to read, translate, write, and actualize the contents of the yellow book contained therein. Through this context, effective and efficient delivery learning techniques must be applied to support the learning process of the yellow book. One method that can be done is through the sorogan method for learning is more effective, because it can adjust to the level of understanding of each santri. Research to find out the message of learning the message of the yellow book conducted at Daarus Shofwah Bojonggede Islamic Boarding School, Bogor Regency. The method used is quantitative descriptive. According to (Ananto, 2013) a method that only provides an overview or description of the variables of a phenomenon under study. The population of this research is the students who study at Daarus Shofwah Bojonggede Islamic Boarding School in Bogor Regency, amounting to 40 male students. The sample in this study was taken using a sampling technique of saturated 40 male students in the Islamic Boarding School. Data collection techniques in research using primary data questionnaires and interviews, secondary data using literature studies such as books and documentation. The results of the study, the message of the yellow book through the sorogan method is very good and can help students in understanding the contents of the yellow book. From reading and translating the contents of the yellow book in Arabic without harakat on students so that there are messages of learning through the sorogan method properly. REQUIREMENTS OF LEARNING ARABIC LANGUAGE AMONG ISLAMIC FINANCIAL STUDENTS

The issue of Arabic language proficiency among students of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is a concern as the majority of students are still poor at mastering and understanding Arabic terms. The Arabic language learning and teaching scenario are based solely on the basic courses taken to qualify for the graduation process. The purpose of this study is to identify the Arabic language learning needs among Islamic Finance students in USAS. The study was a public survey of 60 undergraduate students in Islamic Finance using a self-administered questionnaire conducted by a researcher who has been certified by an expert in the field. The research questionnaire was divided into 3 main sections: identifying the respondents’ background, students' knowledge of the Arabic language and their Arabic language learning needs. This data is analyzed using descriptive statistics of frequency and percentage only. The findings showed that Arabic knowledge of Islamic finance course information had the highest frequency and percentage of n = 35; 58.3%. Whereas the Arabic language learning needs show the highest frequency and percentage are related to the manual or module of learning Arabic for n = 45; 75%. In conclusion, the findings of this study are proposed as a guide to developing the development of Arabic language modules for a more robust study in Malaysian HEIs.

Pengaruh Pemahaman Orangtua Tentang Pendidikan Dan Profesionalisme Guru Terhadap Minat Baca Al-qur’an Siswa SMP Islam Al-Kautsar Pondok Cabe Ilir Tangerang Sela

This study aims to determine the effect of parents' understanding of education and professionalism of teachers on the reading interest of the Koran of Islamic Al-Kautsar Junior High School Islamic School Pondok Cabe Ilir, South Tangerang. This research is a quantitative study, with a population of all VII and VIII grade students (180 students), and a sample of 124 students. The sampling technique uses a questionnaire / questionnaire. Analysis of the data used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that: 1) There is a positive and significant effect of education on the reading interest of the Koran of Al-Kautsar Islamic Junior High School students at Pondok Cabe Ilir, South Tangerang; 2) There is a positive and significant influence of teacher professionalism on the reading interest of al-Qur'an at Al-Kautsar Islamic Middle School Pondok Cabe Ilir South Tangerang students; 3) There is a positive and significant influence of teacher education and professionalism on the reading interest of al-Qur'an at Islamic Al-Kautsar Middle School Pondok Cabe Ilir, South Tangerang.

Relationship of anxiety with emotional and behavioral problem in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Hidayatullah Islamic boarding school students, Denpasar

Background: Emotional and behavioral problem are persistent and recurring problem that observed in teenagers specifically students. Anxiety is the most common mental health problem found in Islamic boarding school students. This research aims to find out the relationship of anxiety with emotional and behavioral problem in Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School Students, Denpasar. Patients and Methods: The study was an analytical cross-sectional study with 89 students met inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research used the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) to measure emotional and behavioral problems and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) to measure the student’s anxiety level. The correlation was analyzed by using Spearman’s correlation test. Results: Forty-five (50.8%) students experience abnormal emotional and behavioral problems with 30 (30%) the students mostly had moderate level anxiety. The correlation between the anxiety with emotional and behavioral problems had an R value of 0.366 (p<0.001). Conclusion: There was a moderate positive relationship between anxiety with emotional and behavioral problems in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamic boarding school Hidayatullah students.

The Development of Hots-based Student Worksheets with Discovery Learning Model

Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is one of the important skills that every student has to master it in the 21st century. Discovery learning is a learning model that can be used to train HOTS in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to develop HOTS-based student worksheets with a discovery learning model for trigonometry subjects in the tenth grade and to assess it based on the media assessment, material assessment, and the practical assessment. The subjects of this research are the researcher and some validators, while the objects of this research are 33 students, which consist of X IPA 1 students of SMA Negeri 1 Turi and X IPA students of SMA Islam 3 Sleman 2018/2019 academic year. The result shows that the criteria of the developed student worksheets are very feasible based on the media assessment, material assessment, and practical assessment. The developed student worksheets have an average score of 4.49 from three media validators, 4.39 from three material validators, and 4.33 from 33 students who become the respondent. It explains that the developed student worksheets can be used as an alternative student worksheet during the learning process in the class, which can train the student's HOTS.

MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PAI DALAM MEMBENTUK KEPRIBADIAN ISLAMI SISWA DI SMK DR WAHIDIN SAWAHAN NGANJUK

The background of this research is the concern about the moral degradation of the nation's future generations. This condition occurs due to various factors, both internal and external factors. Therefore schools as institutions of education, especially teachers as educators must have a learning model that can form Islamic character and personality for students. The focus of this research is how the PAI learning model in Vocational Dr. Wahidin Sawahan Nganjuk, How is the personality of Islamic students in Vocational Dr. Wahidin Sawahan Nganjuk. This type of research uses a qualitative approach. Data collection methods: observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the interactive model of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. To check the validity of the data used research extension, observation persistence and triangulation. With the inculcation of Islamic personality early on in students it will form a good personality in accordance with Islamic law in someone in the future. The hope is that with the PAI learning model in helping the personality of students at the Vocational School Dr. Wahidin Sawahan Nganjuk can be used as a reference to improve learning and a good personality going forward.

VIRTUAL ACCOUNT SANTRI : IKHTIYAR PESANTREN DALAM MEMBERIKAN LAYANAN PRIMA BERORIENTASI CUSTOMER SATISFACTION DI PONDOK PESANTREN

This article presents the services which is provided by Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School using the Virtual Account payment method. In essence, the purpose of a service is to provide a sense of satisfaction for the people who is being served. To achieve this level of satisfaction must be accompanied by facilities and personnel from each side. In providing a service we are required to be sensitive to the wishes and needs of customers. Through the Virtual Account method can be implemented in financial management, especially in the payment process in an educational institution because it can provide convenience, and can be guaranteed in the process of payment transactions. By using this method, the Islamic Boarding School's treasurer can provide services in the form of convenience, guarantees, and concerns of Islamic Students (Santri) or Islamic Student's Parent (Walisantri) when processing payment transactions.

A Problem Based Learning: Practicing Students' Critical Thinking Skills with Cognitive Style Dependent Fields and Independent Fields

The critical thinking skills require to be possessed by students to decide to gain new knowledge. The perception differences by each student influence students' thinking skills have, so to practice these skills is a needed learning approach to the student truly. One of them is problem-based learning. The purpose of this study is to train students' critical skills who have the cognitive method of Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD). This type of research is experimental research. The sampling technique in this study uses a cluster random sampling technique, which is taking random group samples. The results of this study are (1) the average Islamic Nurul Hadi Vocational School students belong to the dependent field cognitive style (FD); (2) the majority of students' critical thinking skills are in the high category, in 26 students consisting of 19 FI students and 7 FD students; (3) FI students are better at critical thinking compared to FD students. FD students need guidance in solving problems. PBL learning model is very appropriate to be used to train students' critical thinking skills with different cognitive styles.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ISLAMIC CHARACTER

Curriculum development in improving Islamic character becomes a focus of attention in schools, especially schools with Islamic nuance in an effort to build Islamic students. The inclusion of this Islamic character development aims to produce graduates who have moral values that uphold Islamic values that have a commendable attitude in society, good discipline, honest, independent, and other positive attitudes that are embedded in students. This research is field research that serve the data with analytical analysis. The study used psychological and sociological approach. The result found the inclusion of Islamic character, such as faith and piety, honesty, trustworthy, fair, responsible, sympathetic, political and others, in the curriculum development.
