In its golden age, Muslims were always united and complemented each other. After that, Islamic education no longer led to the development of Islamic civilization which Naturally, therefore this document talks about aspects of Islamic education and civilization which are increasingly deteriorating and weakening.

This article unveils the magnetic charisma of Islam, offering a multifaceted exploration into the allure and impact of Muslim culture and society. It begins by providing a brief overview of Islam as a major world religion, its historical roots, and its contributions during the Golden Age of Islam. The article delves into the pillars of Islamic culture, highlighting the significance of faith, spirituality, and the Five Pillars of Islam, as well as the joyous celebrations and festivals that shape Muslim culture. It further examines the diversity within Muslim society, including its global reach across continents and the rich tapestry of customs, traditions, and cuisines that define different Muslim cultures. The article emphasizes the role of Muslim women, their diverse roles, and their contributions to education, activism, and positive change in their communities and beyond. Challenges and opportunities for Muslim culture are addressed, including the impact of modernization, globalization, and Islamophobia. Despite these challenges, the article underscores the resilience of Islamic culture, its ability to preserve identity while adapting to changing times, and its positive influence on interfaith understanding and cooperation.

Loss Accounting Practices among Takjil Sellers Grounded in Local Cultural And Religious Values

This study aims to formulate loss accounting practices by takjil sellers based on local cultural values. This research uses a qualitative method. This study uses an Islamic ethnomethodological approach with five data analysis stages: charity, knowledge, faith, revelation, and courtesy. The results of the study found two ways for takjil sellers to avoid losses: distributing the remaining takjil merchandise for free to neighbors and family and giving bonuses. This loss accounting practice is conditional on the value of sharing, among others. Within the Islamic culture of Gorontalo, elders commonly impart this principle using the expression "lumadu diila o'onto, bo wolu-woluwo," which signifies the presence of something unseen yet still existing. The meaning is that this expression teaches that in life, don't just chase what is visible but also look for something that is invisible but exists. The value of sharing among others is living with the spirit of seeking sustenance that God blesses. This research contributes to the existence of local wisdom value-based loss accounting practices. The conclusion from the findings of this research is that takjil sellers practice loss accounting, which is not limited to material (money) but is conditional on non-material values in the form of local wisdom and religiosity.

Analysis of Utilizing YouTube as a Learning Media for Islamic Cultural History Subject

This research aims to describe the utilization of online learning media based on the YouTube platform in the subject of Islamic Cultural History at MA NU 03 Sunan Katong. The approach used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the utilization of online learning media based on the YouTube platform can provide convenience for teachers and students in the learning process. Among them, the media can create a quiet and conducive classroom atmosphere, facilitate students' understanding of learning material that requires event visualization, reduce students' confusion, and create an interesting and engaging learning atmosphere. Therefore, the use of online learning media in the form of YouTube videos can be an effective alternative in realizing interactive and engaging learning.

Arabic Learning Strategies In Madrasah Aliyah

A learning strategy is a method, steps, tactics, or a design that will be used by teachers in the learning process, in order to achieve learning objectives, namely increasing students' understanding and improving students' cognitive abilities. In the Arabic language learning strategy, of course the objectives of learning Arabic are; Firstly, so that students can read and understand the Al-Quran and the hadiths of the Prophet, Arabic books, Arabic texts and the history of Islamic culture. Second, apart from learning, the aim of studying Arabic is to improve your skills in communicating in Arabic. Third, to increase your skills, interests and talents in Arabic. Therefore, the aim of this research is to find out what strategies are suitable to use in achieving the goals of learning Arabic. This research is qualitative in nature using literature study using descriptive analysis methods. The results of this research show that effective learning will create creative and active participants and improve students' cognitive abilities. Quality learning depends on the motivation, enthusiasm and creativity of an educator in the learning process, therefore an educator needs a strategy to achieve the desired goals. The strategies in learning Arabic are: (1) mufrodat learning strategy, (2) listening/istima' learning strategy, (3) reading/qira'ah learning strategy, (4) speaking/kalam learning strategy, (5) tarkib learning strategies, and (6) kitabah learning strategies.

Prison Life in the Eyes of Bediüzzaman Said Nursi and Aleksander Solzhenitsyn

Christian and Islamic cultures of old abound with examples of atrocities committed against faithful people. Even in the modern era, many people have been unjustly imprisoned and deliberately subjected to persecution by authoritarian regimes. Said Nursi and Aleksander Solzhenitsyn are prominent examples of such poor treatment, even though each fought for their country and produced outstanding works, as long as breath was in them, for the welfare of their fellow citizens and co-religionists. By acting positively, despite every setback, they both fought against ignorance, sedition and lawlessness within the putative legal framework of their respective nations. One of the most important points this article argues is that these two scholars’ spiritual qualities allowed them to discern a hidden beauty, kindness and goodness even behind all kinds of injustices, however much pain and distress was inflicted on them during their incarceration. Thus, Nursi and Solzhenitsyn turned prison experiences into seeing every phenomenon as a reflection of God’s manifestations, exploration and rediscovering a religious and moral life. For Nursi and Solzhenitsyn, the sharp difference between sadness, distress, sickness and old age, on the one hand, and joy, peace, youth and health, on the other, almost disappears in their thinking after converting the prison into paradise.

Kepemimpinan Perempuan dalam Pengelolaan Budaya Pesantren di Dayah Darul Aman Tungkop Aceh Besar

A leader is a person who sets goals, motivates and takes action on his subordinates. Leadership is the characteristic of a leader in assuming formal moral and legal responsibility for all the implementation of authority that has been delegated to the people he leads. Dayah Darul Aman or this foundation is led by women with management of Islamic boarding school culture based on Dayah education and also school education. The purpose of this research is to find out the management of Islamic boarding School culture implemented by female leadership in Dayah Darul Aman Tungkop Aceh Besar. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were Islamic boarding school leaders, teachers and students. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research indicate that the leadership applies management functions, namely planning, organizing, actuating, controlling and evaluating in Islamic boarding school leaders in Dayah Darul Aman Tungkop Aceh Besar.

THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF TURKIYE IN MALAYSIA: OTTOMAN HISTORY IN MALAYSIAN SECONDARY HISTORY TEXTBOOKS (1989-2022)

This article explores the teaching of Ottoman history and the image of the Ottomans through a close and critical reading of Malaysian secondary history textbooks used between 1989 and 2022. It argues that Malaysian secondary history textbooks focus mainly on the political and military aspects of sixteenth-century Ottoman history. They do not, consciously or subconsciously, make detailed reference to political and socio-economic turning points in nineteenth-century Ottoman history. Sejarah Tingkatan 2 (History: Form 2), one of the history textbooks examined in the article, exceptionally discusses the impact of Ottoman pan-Islamism and Turkish nationalism on the political and religious thought of the Malays. Nonetheless, history textbooks published after the 2000s have not touched on these important issues. In history textbooks, the Ottoman Empire is regarded as one of the significant states of the Islamic world; therefore, Ottoman history is analyzed within the framework of Islamic history and Islamic civilization. The portrayal of Ottomans is positive and favourable. There are no distortions, biases, or stereotypes concerning Ottoman history in Malaysian secondary history textbooks.

Strengthening Human Resource and Regeneration in The Process of Integrating Knowledge In Economics At PCIM Spain

Abstract. Integration of knowledge as Islamic methodology and intellectual heritage were never obstacles to human development, but what stands as obstacles to human progress are the weak political leadership, poor investments on human capital, as well as the wrong interpretations of the Islamic messages by those who claim to speak for Islam. Indeed, integration of knowledge is a gateway to bring in again the glory of the noble Islamic civilization which never denied the great position of man, his leadership and intellectual capabilities to carry on the message of Khilafah and attain Falah both in this world and the Hereafter by both means of revelation (wahy) and reason (‘aql). This study aims to strengthen the human resource as well as to conduct regeneration in the process of integrating knowledge in Economics at PCIM Spain. To achieve the objective, this study conducts six (6) series of seminars and workshops on Integration of Knowledge particularly in Economics field. The results show that, to strengthen the human resource especially for lecturers who teach Economics or other disciplines, they should master several traditional sciences. Herewith the order of priority mastery of traditional sciences: [1] Arabic; [2] General historical insights about Islamic civilization; [3] Ushul Fiqh; [4] Their respective scientific disciplines (all of which have a turats basis); [5] Ushul Tafsir; [6] Ushul Hadith. In conclusion, the outputs of this Community Service Program are, [1] Six (6) series of seminars and workshops on Integration of Knowledge particularly in Economics field which is held by UMY in collaboration with PCIM Spain; [2] Integration of knowledge book, that contain the summary of Integration of Knowledge Studies from many scholars’ perspectives; [3] Publication of article from this Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat - PkM); [4] Publication of mass media about the program (Kajian Ber-seri Integrasi Ilmu Pengetahuan Kerja Sama UMY dan PCIM Spain).

THE EFFECT OF STRIP STORY LEARNING MEDIA ON LEARNING OUTCOMES IN THE HISTORY OF ISLAMIC CULTURE SUBJECT

The purpose of this study was to see and test the extent of the influence of the use of strip story learning media on learning the history of Islamic culture in class V MI Al-Islamiyah Kotabumi. The method used in this research is a quantitative quasi-experimental method. The data were collected through the pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that The incorporation of strip story media has yielded a positive impact on the learning of Islamic cultural history at MI Al-Islamiyah Kotabumi. This is evident through the substantial improvement in students' average scores from the pre-test to the post-test phase. Specifically, the average score for the pre-test in the experimental class was 63.33, while in the post-test, it soared to 86.67, denoting a noteworthy average score increase of 23.34 points. Moreover, the results of hypothesis testing reinforce the effectiveness of employing strip story media in History of Islamic Culture learning, as indicated by the significance value (sig.) of 0.001, which is lower than the 0.05 threshold. Consequently, it can be confidently concluded that the utilization of strip story media significantly enhances students' learning outcomes. The use of strip story media contributes to improving student learning outcomes in Islamic cultural history subjects so that it can be applied in madrasah

The article analyzes pedagogical thoughts, which are led by one of the stars of the East, the first person who wrote the history of the Kazakh people – Mukhamed Haidar Dulat. The author has a historical and literary work "Tarikh-i Rashidi" and a poem "Zhahanname". Although both have different genres, the goal and the idea are the same. In the era of globalization, in order not only to acquaint young people with the works of the Middle Ages, but also to show the precious treasury underlying their personal development, the relevance of the study shows. Muhammad Haidar Dulat himself is a great personality. The origins of pedagogical teaching in his works stem from Islamic culture and folk pedagogy. His work instills patriotism, morality, education, justice, honesty in young people. The article presents the issues of studying "Tarikh-i Rashidi", pedagogical thoughts, the origins of Sufi teaching. The purpose of the study is to identify the pedagogical facet of the works of Muhammad, give the opportunity to use the author's stories in teaching. In education and upbringing, one can focus on the personality of the Mughal Khans in the "Tarikh-i Rashidi" in the direction of personal research. In this regard, the students were presented with the chapter "a conversation about the proud qualities and special character of Sultan Said Khan".

Da'wah of Islam using the media is a form of strategic application for Muslims regarding the need to spread Islamic teachings with a wider reach, so that it is hoped that it will be able to attract the interest of the general public to listen to the calls of Islamic teachings. Using media in da’wah is an innovative process in carrying out da'wah so that the "message of wisdom" conveyed can be conveyed well and optimally. Along with the development of information technology and globalization, the mass media industry is also experiencing significant changes. These changes are clearly visible in aspects of structure, work and operational mechanisms, and mass media content. This ultimately urges various media institutions to follow the business competition patterns of the media industry in order to survive. The tight competitive climate in the mass media industry ultimately has an effect on the increasingly strong values ??of economic interests (profit) over the idealistic values ??of the media. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The media management applied to TV9 is the same as other media companies, what makes TV9 different is that there is still an inherent Islamic boarding school culture, because it is a religious TV whose spirit was born from the Islamic boarding school students. Regarding media management activities related to market push issues and issues of public interest, among business interests and da'wah, it tends to be more towards a da'wah orientation because da'wah is the vision and mission of TV9 and most of its programs are da'wah programs

PRESERVING AND SUSTAINING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IDENTITY OF ISLAMIC RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS IN THE HEJAZ REGION IN KSA

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a rich urban and architectural legacy that dates back to the numerous eras of Islamic civilization. This study investigates the environmental influence on Ottoman-style heritage structures in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly in the Hejaz Region. The region was chosen because of its diverse climates, which include a hot, dry environment in the middle of the Western Desert and a hot, humid climate on the Red Sea coast. Heritage buildings are examined from design, architectural, and urban perspectives to learn how environmental sustainability is achieved and to examine building materials and their sustainability. Furthermore, common architectural characteristics, systems, and designs are recognized to be integrated into modern building design for the contemporary era to maintain their design uniqueness.

The Strategy of Madrasah Development Amidst Globalization Challenges

As an educational institution born from the cradle of Islamic civilization, madrasahs have played a role in the advancement of the Muslim community in the past. However, in the midst of this era of globalization, madrasahs face complex challenges. This research aims to describe the development of madrasahs in the dynamics of Islamic education and the strategic steps madrasahs take in facing the era of globalization. This study is a literature review that uses documentation as the method of data collection, while the analysis technique employs inductive analysis. The results of this research indicate that in this era of globalization, madrasahs encounter two main challenges: 1) internal challenges, such as the low quality and competitiveness of madrasah graduates; and 2) external challenges, namely Islamophobia in the global community, especially in the West. To address internal issues, integrated improvements involving all elements of madrasah management need to be pursued. External issues need to be approached with a new marketing model that utilizes contemporary communication patterns to combat negative stigma against madrasahs and simultaneously create a positive trend towards the image of Islamic educational institutions and Islam itself.

Islamization of Knowledge of Ismail Raji Faruqi: Integration-Interconnection to the Contextualization of Indonesian Science

<p>This article discusses the concept of Islamization of knowledge promoted by Ismail Raji Faruqi. This concept aims to defeat secularism that blinds Muslims and brings misfortune. The spread of secularism has encouraged Muslims to make concessions to what the West offers them. Therefore, reading the Islamization of knowledge in the context of scientific integration-interconnection becomes essential to raise awareness among Muslims who are considered to glorify secular science so that people are too far from the concept of tawhid (monotheism). This research used a literature review method through several textual sources related to the topic discussed, primarily Faruqi's work entitled "Islamization of Knowledge," and secondary in the form of similar articles on the theme of Islamization of knowledge. Then, it is to consider the aims and objectives of the Islamization of knowledge, linking it with the concept of integration-interconnection, and considering the contextualization of the Islamization of knowledge in the Indonesian science. The results of this paper are as follows: Islamization of knowledge becomes an inclusive concept if we consider the existence of two disciplines. As a Muslim scientist, the realm of Islamization of knowledge must be imprinted in him to achieve the ideals of Islam. Islamization of knowledge is closely related to integration-interconnection, namely integrating sciences without legitimizing that one science with another cannot be merged. Islamization of knowledge is also a step in creating an Islamic civilization in the world of science. In the context of Indonesia, the Islamization of knowledge can be seen in the concept of science integration in several Islamic universities in Indonesia which has different concepts, but the same essence. The purpose of Faruqi's thought is to demand Muslims to be creative.</p>

CULTURE OF “DELO TOMBOWA LO TABO WAU LABIYA” IN CAPITAL ACCOUNTING PRACTICES BY ILABULO TRADERS

This study aims to construct capital accounting practices by ilabulo traders based on local cultural values. This research uses the Islamic paradigm. The approach used is Islamic ethnomethodology. There are five data analysis stages: charity, knowledge, faith, revelation information, and courtesy. The results showed that the capital used by ilabulo traders came from personal funds, gifts from husbands, and parental loans. This practice of capital accounting lives on in the spirit of cooperation among families. This value is reflected in the actions of the husband, who provides both material and non-material support to his wife to trade ilabulo, parents, who provide unsecured money loans, flexible debt repayment terms, and no interest on loans. In the Islamic culture of Gorontalo, the value of cooperation is often advised by the elders through lumadu "delo tombowata lo tabo wau labiya" which means like a mixture of fat and sago. This expression stirs up the meaning of a sakinah household life.” The implication of this research is to present the concept of capital accounting, not only material but conditions with non-material values in the form of local culture and religiosity.

Peradaban Islam Masa Utsman Bin Affan

Islamic civilization during the time of Uthman bin Affan was an important chapter in Islamic history which marked the rapid development and broad influence of the Muslim Ummah. Uthman bin Affan, as the third caliph in Islamic history, led the Muslim community in the period 644-656 AD. His reign was marked by the expansion of Islamic territory, economic stability, and the writing of the Koran which was compiled in a standard form. Uthman's reign also saw the development of science, art, and architecture. Increased trade activity and relations with various nations and cultures allowed for a significant exchange of ideas and knowledge. In addition, Uthman is also known for organizing the official copying of the Qur'an to maintain the authenticity of Islam's sacred text. In the social realm, Uthman implemented policies that supported the welfare of Muslims, including distribution of zakat and economic empowerment. Although his reign brought prosperity, it also caused dissatisfaction among several groups, which ultimately contributed to the tragic event of Uthman's assassination. Overall, the period of Islamic civilization under the leadership of Uthman bin Affan reflected a period of progress in many aspects of life. The maintenance and development of the Al-Qur'an, territorial expansion, economic progress and social efforts have made a major contribution to the foundation of a strong and sustainable Islamic civilization.

“MALLAPPESSANG OLOK-KOLOK”: PERJUMPAAN ISLAM DAN TRADISI LOKAL DALAM MEMORI KOLEKTIF MASYARAKAT BUGIS

This article presents the findings of a qualitative research study that delves into the collective memory of the Bugis community concerning the intersection of Islam and local traditions. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and document analysis, this study shows that the Mallappessang olok-kolok (Releasing animals) tradition has sparked controversy in the community. The study analyzed the oral storytelling-based community’s tradition narratively. Mallappessang olok-kolok constitutes a “tolok bala” tradition, a local ritual designed for averting disasters. The Bugis society practices it by releasing animals into the forest to hope for healing from an illness. Some view the practice as contrary to Islam’s continuity from animism and dynamism and its implementation as unreasonable. On the other hand, others consider the tradition adheres to Islamic teachings. Releasing animals into the forest to feed wild animals expresses human harmony with nature. The act is also viewed as bonding with ancestors, following ancestral guidelines, and fostering community unity as families, relatives, and neighbors actively participate in the ritual. The narrative of this different perspective then rolls into a discussion or dialogue between Islam and local culture, which then impacts the existence of respect for the presence of these traditions. The conversation between Islam and local culture is a sign of progress in the thought of Islamic society that accepts traditions as heritage and science impacting on strengthening human relations with nature.

Peradaban Islam Pada Masa Khalifah Umar Bin Khattab

Islamic civilization during the time of umar bin khattab, umar bin khattab expanding and spreanding islam outside the arabian peninsula, as well as the policies implemented during his reign. Based on literaly studies from various books on the history of Islamic civilization and the journal history of Islamic civilization, especially books related to caliph umar bin khattab, it is found that islam had a vary rapid growth while umar bin khattab was in office.the results of this study refealed for the first time that the expansion of islam led by umar expanded to only in the arabian peninsula but also spread to various areas such as Damascus, ajnadain, Palestine, Iraq, Persia, Syria, and nahawan. This expansion.is very benesicial for muslims, especially for the development of islam, as well as respect for Islamic law. Second in the policies persued by umar were ijtihad and politics. Ijtihad policy by modifying systems that do not yet exist in the qur’an, as well as improving regulations that need to be revised or modified according to the needs and development of the times. Political policy is to innovate the government structure and state management structure.
