TRAINING INTCOM (INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION) MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIVITAS ORGANISASI HIMPUNAN MAHASISWA

Communication has a very strategic place in the management of an organization. One measure of the good and bad of the organization depends on the quality of communication. Interpersonal communication as a link between communicator and communicant, is considered to be the most effective communication to change one's attitude, opinion, or behavior. The purpose of this training is to understand the concept of interpersonal communication and improve interpersonal communication skills between members to create effective performance in the organization. The method used in this training program is experiential learning which is carried out face-to-face to members of the Himpunan Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Mulawarman University. The results of the training showed that there was an increase in understanding of interpersonal communication after being given training. This is evidenced based on the pre-test and post-test treatment with interpersonal communication training, the t-count result is -4.996 (< t table = 1.688) with p = 0.000 (p> 0.05) which means that there is a difference in the level of understanding of interpersonal communication in the Himpunan Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Mulawarman University before and after being given treatment, namely with interpersonal communication training, and an increase in understanding by 10.6 percent. The Chairperson of the Dentistry Student Association provides feedback that members are more active in expressing opinions and can carry out interpersonal communication properly to improve the performance of the Himpunan Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi.

Interpersonal Communication Training To Reduce Student Aggressiveness

Aggression is a behavioral problem that often occurs in students. Aggression can be caused by various factors, one of which is a lack of interpersonal communication skills. Excessive aggressive behavior can have a negative impact on students and their environment. Aggressive students can experience problems in learning, socializing and establishing relationships with other people. Aggressive behavior can also cause problems in the school environment, such as brawls, bullying and sexual violence. Interpersonal communication training is one effort that can be made to reduce aggression in students. Students who need to reduce aggression are students who have excessive aggressive behavior or often carry out aggressive behavior. This study aims to test the effectiveness of interpersonal communication training in reducing aggression in students. The research results show that interpersonal communication training can reduce aggression in students. Students who took part in interpersonal communication training showed a significant reduction in aggression scores compared to students who did not take part in the training.

Optimization of Interpersonal Communication Training for Effective Communication in TBCC Cares in the Banyuwangi District

Background: Tuberculosis (TBC) is the biggest infectious disease killer in the world. Prevention of TB transmission requires cross-sectoral cooperation by involving the community and establishing two-way communication so that comfortable communication and discussion with each other is formed so that the delivery of health messages in TB prevention and treatment is more effective. One of the community-based approaches to prevent TB can be use a communal approach is health cadres. Aims: This study aims to optimize effectiveness communication in TBC Cares with conducting formation Cadres and interpersonal communication training. Methods: The study methods used are qualitative and quantitative (mixed methods). Quantitative method was conducted by questionnaire distributed to measure the knowledge of cadres. Qualitative method was conducted by focus group discussions (FGD) aims to enhance the learning experience of TBC cadres and cadres to optimize the prevention and treatment regarding tuberculosis to patient, families the patient of TB, and the community. The data was analysed using Paired T Test for Cadre’s knowledge. Results: Based on the result score Cadre knowledge on pre-test (mean=74,40, SD=16,85) and post-test (mean=86,80, SD=12,81) and (p=0.000). Conclusion: These results show that there is an effect of increasing knowledge on pre and post the intervention. Cadres’ Interpersonal communication training can be used alternative way to optimize in prevention and education TBC cadres in Banyuwangi Regency.

Conflict occurrence and preferred management styles among ICU nurses during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic: A cross-sectional study in Saudi Arabia.

Intensive care units (ICUs) have been overwhelmed by the increasing number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, causing psychological burdens, stress, and various types of conflict among nurses. To examine the occurrence, type, and intensity of conflict and preferred management styles among ICU nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in a government hospital in Saudi Arabia using a convenience sample of 95 nurses from three ICUs. Data were collected using an e-questionnaire comprising the Nursing Conflict Scale, Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II, and sociodemographic variables. Most participants reported exposure to moderately (64.2%) or highly (34.79%) intense conflict during the pandemic. The competitive (2.23 ± .472) and intragroup (2.23 ± .385) types of conflict were the most frequently reported. The preferred conflict management style was collaborating (21.85 ± 5.49), followed by accommodating (18.39 ± 4.03). Pearson's correlation analysis showed that age, years of experience, and education were significantly associated with conflict type and management style. Preparedness to care for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases was associated with interpersonal conflict (r = .20, p = .04). The participants experienced moderate- to high-intensity conflict; however, they employed constructive rather than destructive management styles. Nurse leaders, policymakers, and educators must initiate transformational intervention programmes to enhance and sustain nurses' competencies in constructive conflict management strategies. Interpersonal communication and crisis management training programmes should be formulated to raise nurses' awareness and enhance their competencies vis-à-vis taking a positive approach to overcoming various conflict types and levels, particularly during crises.

Interpersonal Communication Training of Anti-Retroviral Therapy Providers Promotes Patients’ Satisfaction: A Case Study of Public Hospitals in Gombe State, Nigeria

Interpersonal Communication (IPC)between healthcare practitioners and patients enhances client satisfaction, adherence, and health outcomes. In developed countries, effective IPC improves health, but little is known about Nigeria. Using a quasi-experimental approach, this study investigated the influence of interpersonal communication training for ART practitioners on patient satisfaction in Gombe state public ART hospitals. The study looked at clients’ satisfaction before and after IPC training for ART providers. Six public ART hospitals were chosen at random; three were assigned to intervention and control groups, respectively, and 250 HIV patients receiving treatment at these facilities were chosen at random; 125 from each of the three intervention and control facilities. At both the intervention and control locations, levels of satisfaction were evaluated both before and six weeks after IPC training. The data were obtained using a Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ), and the reliability of the questionnaire was determined using the Cronbach Alpha test (0.76). For data analysis, SPSS 22 was used. Findings revealed that, 42.4% of the clients had been living with HIV for 1-5 years and the mean client satisfaction score with their providers' IPC training was 87.5 in the intervention group and 76.45 in the control group (P = 0.05) while, the mean difference before and after training in the intervention and control groups were 0.46 and 11.05, respectively and a p-value 0.000 was obtained. Therefore, there was a positive association between higher client satisfaction with ART services and training of ART providers on IPC. It is recommended that ART facilities should receive IPC training on a regular basis. Keywords: Anti-retroviral, Client-satisfaction, HIV/AIDS, Health-Personnel, Therapy.

Effect of Interpersonal Communication Training Program on Knowledge, Attitude, and Reinforcing/Support Skills of Anti-retroviral Therapy Providers in Gombe State Hospitals

Evidence from the developed world suggests that healthcare practitioners with greater Interpersonal communication (IPC) skills have better health outcomes after IPC training. There is less evidence from developing nations. This study examined the impact of an IPC training program on the knowledge, attitude, and reinforcing/supporting skills of ART practitioners at public ART hospitals in Gombe state, Nigeria. The study used a quasi-experimental design with two groups and two stages, as well as a multi-stage sampling approach. The knowledge disposition, attitude, and reinforcing and supporting IPC skills of 120 ART practitioners from six randomly selected hospitals were assessed. Then three weeks later, a 2-day IPC training using a self-administered structured questionnaire was carried out. SPSS Software (v. 22) was used to perform descriptive and inferential analyses on the data. At baseline, the Chi-Square test indicated no association between the groups on any of the demographic factors. The pre-intervention mean knowledge score was significantly higher (p = 0.019) in the experimental group than in the control group, although there were no significant differences in attitude (p=0.32) or reinforcing and support skills (p=0.786). After the IPC skills training program, significant differences were noticed between the experimental and control groups in terms of knowledge (p=.000) and attitude (p=0.006), but not in terms of reinforcing and support skills (p=.119). Training in interpersonal communication skills influences the knowledge and attitude of ART health providers in Gombe State. As a result, in-service IPC training is suggested for ART Health Providers in the State. Prevent Domestic Violence: Reconstruction Wife Right to Freedom of Opinion and Expressions

The wife is one of the potential victims of domestic violence. In patriarchal culture and social construction norms, the wife must obey all of their husband's requests. Hence, they became vulnerable and got physical, sexual, economic, and many forms of domestic violence. Based on radical feminist theory, human rights concepts, and interpersonal communication theory, this article builds the idea to prevent domestic violence for wives by reconstructing their rights to freedom of opinion and expression. This research-based is on a literature review from scientific articles, books, and reports. After it, analyze with standpoint feminism. The result is that two points. First, in cultural and logical patriarchal, wives need interpersonal communication training to get equality when talking with their husbands. Second, reconstruction about wives' awareness about freedom to opinion and expressions is necessary, so they do not fear to say no to their husbands and love themselves first. Finally, to prevent domestic violence against wives needs implementation of freedom to opinion and expressions in everyday life.

Prevalence of Hospital Deliveries in Tharparkar and Its Determinants

Introduction: SDGs 2015-2030 are intended to stop poverty, hunger and ensure well-being at all ages by the year 2030. Goal 3 of SGDs are better measurable with indicators of maternal and children mortalities. Globally around 140 million birth takes place each year, among these home deliveries are significantly common.
 Methods: Study was conducted on women aged 18 and 45 years of Tharparkar. Women of Child Bearing Age (CBAs) from all union council had been surveyed by multistage cluster sampling with random selection at hose hold level. Analysis was done using EPI Info TM 7. The odds ratio were calculated and reported at CI 95%.
 Results: Of total women 73% (n=406) were uneducated and 19% (n=105) had education till matriculation. Prevalent occupation of husbands were farming 55% (n=310) followed by teachers 18% (n=102). Of total 2023 reported 31% (n=629) deliveries were conducted in the hospital. Socio-economic status (OR 1.8, CI 1.5-2.2), knowledge of nearby MCHC center (OR 1.3, 95% CI 1.03-1.61), Counselling by doctor (OR 3.6, 95% CI 3-4.5), Good attitude of the hospital staff (OR 2.02, 95% CI 1.6-2.2) were factors associated positively with the hospital deliveries. During multiple logistic regression analysis all factors were found significantly associated with hospital deliveries other than having livestock in family, which was not statistically significant (OR 0.9, CI 0.9-1.19).
 Conclusion: We concluded that the hospital deliveries are less common in Tharparkar. We recommended that timing of the MCHC centers should be revised, Interpersonal Communication Training of the hospital staff and advocacy for hospital delivery by medical doctor.

Особенности и специфика формирования готовности курсантов к взаимодействию в поликультурной среде региона

The article presents the peculiarities and specifics of the formation of cadets' readiness for interaction in multicultural environment of the region. Theoretical and methodological approaches to the mentioned problem are analyzed. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that in our changing world of the 21st century, cadets face a new problem of communication in multicultural environment. The aim of the work is to develop the skills of communication and cooperation with people of different nationalities, races and religions in an international and multicultural environment, strengthening mutual understanding and promoting peace and respect in society. The analysis of the topic carried out in this article allows us to define the learning environment of Russian cadets as a transnational society at the stage of educational development. The introduction of multicultural knowledge in the textbook is based on an analysis of the universality and uniqueness of society. It is a special part of interpersonal communication training.

Comparison of ethical decision-making and interpersonal communication skills training effects on nurses’ ethical climate

Introduction Ethical climate in medical contexts is referred to the organizational environment consisting of medical staff interpersonal relationships regarding patient care. This element affects staff behavior in an organization. The investigation and comparison of the effects of the interventions promoting ethical climate are among important nursing challenges that should be considered by researchers. The present study was conducted to compare the effect of nurses’ ethical decision-making skills and interpersonal communication training on their ethical climate. Materials and methods This experimental study was performed on 90 nurses working in the general teaching hospitals of Mashhad, Iran. The sampling process was conducted in two stages. Nurses were divided into three groups: intervention 1 (ethical decision-making skills group), intervention 2 (interpersonal communication skills group) and control group. The intervention was separate 12-h workshops for each of the intervention groups. The ethical climate questionnaire by Victor and Cullen was used to assess the score of ethical climate in the three groups both at the beginning and 4 weeks after the workshop. The data were analyzed in Statistical Package for Social Sciences software (version 16) using descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, Kruskal–Wallis, paired sample t-test, Wilcoxon test, and post hoc Tukey’s test. Ethical considerations were as follows: The study design was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. Informed consent was obtained from all subjects, and they were ensured about the confidentiality terms. Results The mean scores of the ethical climate test at the first stage were obtained as 66.0 ± 5.5, 67.8 ± 6.9, and 67.7 ± 7.2 in the ethical decision-making, interpersonal communication, and control groups, respectively. Accordingly, the three groups were not significantly different in terms of this variable (df = 87, f = 0.70, P = 0.005). However, after the intervention (i.e. second stage), a significant difference was observed among the three groups regarding the mean scores of the ethical climate test In this regard, the calculated mean scores in the ethical decision-making, interpersonal communication, and control groups were 99.3 ± 6.3, 90.4 ± 7.7, and 67.4 ± 7.9, respectively (df = 87, f = 152.00, P < 0.001). Conclusion Training workshops about ethical decision-making skills and interpersonal communication on the ethical professional climate of nurses was effective. Nonetheless, the effect of ethical decision-making skill training was found to be higher than interpersonal communication skill training. Therefore, it is recommended that nursing managers hold training workshops to improve the ethical climate for nurses.

Strengthening Community-based Surveillance Cadre Activeness through Interpersonal Communication and Module Development in Barru District

BACKGROUND: The low activity of community-based surveillance (CBS) cadres reflects the inadequate implementation of the CBS program. It can hinder the CBS program’s success.
 AIM: This study aimed to increase the activeness of CBS cadres through interpersonal communication and module development.
 METHODS: This research was a quasi-experimental research with the non-randomized pre-test and post-test control group design. This study’s population was all 48 cadres of CBS. They were not active in several subdistricts, including Tanete Riaja subdistrict, Barru subdistrict, Balusu subdistrict, and Mallusetasi subdistrict. The intervention sample was 20 people in the Tanete Riaja subdistrict. The control sample was 20 people scattered in the subdistricts of Barru, Balusu, and Mallusetasi, obtained by purposive sampling. Data analysis used the Chi-square test.
 RESULTS: There are differences in the increase before and after the interpersonal communication intervention and module development, from 0% to 65%. There was a difference in increasing activeness in the interpersonal communication intervention group and module development compared to the control group, which was only given module development (0.011).
 CONCLUSION: There were differences in the increased activity before and after interpersonal communication intervention and module development. There was a higher increase in the interpersonal communication intervention group and module development than only module intervention. It is suggested that the health office provides modules and interpersonal communication training to CBS cadres.

PELATIHAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOMITMEN ORGANISASI KARYAWAN

This study aims to determine the improvement of organizational commitment through interpersonal communication training. The hypothesis of this research is that there is a difference of organizational commitment to employees between before and after being given interpersonal communication training on experimental group, where the level of commitment of employee organization after being given interpersonal communication training is higher than the level of organizational commitment of the employees before being given interpersonal communication training. Second hypothesis, there is difference of posttest organizational commitment level between experiment group and control group, where posttest of organizational commitment in experiment group is higher than control group.The subject of this research is 17 employees at STAI YAPPTI Balaiselasa. Characteristics of the subjects of this study are employees who have levels of organizational commitment and interpersonal communication in the category very low, low and medium. The design used was Pretest-Posttest Control Group, while the data was collected using organizational commitment scale then analyzed using Mann Whitney test to see the difference of score between the experimental group who were given interpersonal communication training with the control group who were not given interpersonal communication training. Furthermore, Wilcoxon test was done for see experimental group scores between before and after interpersonal communication training.Based on Mann Whitney test results found Z = -3.447 (p <0.01), meaning there is a difference in scores between experimental groups who were trained with control groups who were not trained. Based on Wilcoxon test results found there was a difference between organizational commitment score in the experimental group between before and after being given interpersonal communication training with Z = -2,668 (p<0,01).

Pelatihan komunikasi interpersonal berbasis kompetensi untuk meningkatkan komunikasi kerja tim kelompok kader Posyandu

The effectiveness of teamwork is the main key of the group performance, group cohesion, collective efficacy and member satisfaction (Aguado et al, 2014). Ineffective teamwork in a group occurs because of the lack of effective communication skills of members (Steven & Campions, 1994). The problem of ineffective teamwork due to lack of communication skills is experienced by one group of Posyandu cadres in East Jakarta. To improve teamwork communication the Posyandu cadre group, researchers conducted interpersonal communication training interventions. This intervention study is quantitative and qualitative field research with design, after and before with control design. The results of the statistical analysis showed an increase in the working communication of the Posyandu cadre team after attending interpersonal communication training. Based on observations and interviews related to teamwork communication, that are known to make formal communication, are able to communicate openly and supportively, listen more and respond positively to other cadres' opinions, increasingly recognize communicating non-verbally from other cadres, and reprimand also talk lightly when discussing.

PELATIHAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOHESIVITAS KELOMPOK PADA KARYAWAN HOTEL X YOGYAKARTA

This research is aiming for influence of interpersonal communication training to improve the cohesiveness of the group of employees. Subjects in this study were 22 employees of Hotel X of Yogyakarta, which is divided into 11 experimental groups of employees and 11 employees of the control group. Data collection is use cohesiveness scale, interviews, and observations. The research design was pretest-posttest control group design. Analysis of the study is a quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis using U-Mann Whitney to determine the effect of interpersonal communication training to the employee group cohesiveness. Qualitative analysis is based on observations and interviews. The results showed that there were significant differences in group cohesiveness in employees between the experimental group and the control group with significant value of 0.002 (p <0.005). It is concluded that interpersonal communication training can enhance group cohesiveness in employees Hotel X Yogyakarta. Keywords: Interpersonal Communication Training, Cohesiveness group, Employee

Training of Intern Doctors with Interpersonal Communication [IPC]: a Step towards better doctor patient relationship

Background: Interpersonal communication [IPC] is important for good doctor patient relationship. Interpersonal communication [IPC] is taught informally in medical education. It is mostly left to the students with responsibility of getting learnt themselves through a hidden curriculum. To address this issue, we decided to innovate a training module on interpersonal communication [IPC] to train medical intern doctors. Aim and Objectives: To do needs assessment of intern doctors about knowledge, skills and attitude of interpersonal communication [IPC] and evaluate impact of interpersonal communication training module in improving knowledge, skills and attitude of intern doctors about IPC Materials and methods: Present study, a quasi-experimental study, was carried out in the department of surgery, Rural Medical College, Loni from February 2014 to January 2015. Thirty intern doctors were selected who gave consent to participate in the study. Interpersonal communication [IPC] module for training was developed. Assessment of participants was done with pre and post intervention objective structured clinical examination [OSCE]. Observations: By applying Student‟s Paired „t‟ test, there was highly significant difference of increase in post intervention OSCE scores [as compared to pre intervention] at all stations in 30 participants under the study (p<0.01) Conclusion: Interpersonal communication [IPC] training module is a useful tool to develop interpersonal relationship skills amongst intern doctors.

How Do I Ask About Your Disability? An Examination of Interpersonal Communication Processes Between Medical Students and Patients with Disabilities

Medical student behaviors were examined through digital recordings of interpersonal skills communication training framed around a brief curriculum on disability within a family medicine clerkship. This analysis focuses on interpersonal communication processes and ways medical students ask standardized patient educators about visually apparent disability (N = 142). Primary themes of asking about or avoiding disability were identified with regard to language and nonverbal communication in how medical students asked and whether they integrated chronic disability with new musculoskeletal pain complaints. Secondary themes related to timing and communication further contextualized the primary themes. Seventy-four percent of students asked about the disability. Analysis of feedback sessions immediately following the interactions revealed that more than half the students who did not ask about disability spontaneously recognized that they avoided disability language. Results suggest that some ways of asking about disability may inhibit patient disclosure and restrict relationship building. In particular, asking about disability, but then avoiding integrating disability disclosure into the treatment plan, or responding to disability-related disclosure with overly positive, infantilizing-type communication, may pose more difficult dilemmas than never asking about the disability. On the contrary, students who ignored disability altogether often also recognized they missed disability cues, thus providing a learning experience of considerable value. Underlying student attitudes and possibilities for integrating biomedical concerns with social–psychological impacts of disability are addressed.

PENGARUH PELATIHAN KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL TERHADAP EFIKASI DIRI SEBAGAI PELATIH PADA MAHASISWA

This experiment examines the influence of interpersonal communication training in improving self efficacy as a trainer among college students. The hypothesis was that there is a significant difference in self efficacy of a trainer between the experimental and control group. There is also significant difference in self efficacy of a trainer among participants in experimental group between pre and post experiment. The participants of this experiment are college students with age ranging from 21 to 23 years old. The design of this experiment was Pretest Posttest with Control Group Design. A measure of self efficacy was developed by using aspect from Bandura (1997). The training module was developed on the basis ofHardjana Theory (2003). Data were analyzed using gain score method. The result shows that there is a difference in self efficacy of a trainer between experimental and control group (t= 16.989; p<0.01). This means that the interpersonal communication training show influences in increasing self efficacy of a trainer. An experiment group data analysis shows that there is a difference in self efficacy phor and after the training (t= -16.819; p<0.01). The result of this experiment confirmed the hypothesis. Perceptions About Conflicts of Interest: An Ontario Survey of Dentists’ Opinions

The purpose of this study was to explore the opinions that general dental practitioners in Ontario have regarding various situations that may be perceived as a conflict of interest. Standard quantitative analyses were employed to assess the association of attitudes and opinions concerning conflict of interest with gender, length of practice, and prior interpersonal communication, ethics, and religious training through a survey of general practice dentists in Ontario. Positive associations were found between the recognition of conflicts of interest and the number of years of dental practice, interpersonal communication training, and the reading of ethics-related articles in journals. Opinions vary on what is and is not a conflict of interest. Dental education has shaped a better understanding of these issues; however, for many dentists, previous education has not been totally adequate to guide them through conflict of interest situations. Age and mode and length of practice appear to have a direct effect on awareness of conflict of interest issues. Dentists need specific instruction and clearer direction regarding conflict of interest issues, so that they can better manage situations deemed to be conflicting and thereby earn and maintain patient trust in the profession.

PENGARUH MOTIVASI BERPRESTASI DAN PERILAKU KOMUNIKASI ANTARPRIBADI TERHADAP EFEKTIVITAS KEPEMIMPINAN KEPALA SEKOLAH

This survey is aiming to analyse the effect of achievement motivation and interpersonal communication attitude towards the effectiveness of principal leadership both individually and in batches. The result of survey indicates that the effectiveness of principal leadership is predicted to be improved; achievement motivation and interpersonal communication attitude of principals must be stimulated intensively. The stimulus is intended to create a condition where the principals have chances to gain high achievement motivation and a positive communication attitude. In order to improve achievement motivation, it is recommended that promotion to be a principal is not a termination of a carrier, to make inventory, documentation and publication of achievement values, and to give achievement motivation test to principal candidates. To create positive interpersonal communication attitude, it is necessary to give them a kind of interpersonal communication training. At the same time, school management laboratory is needed to facilitate the improvement of those independent variables simultaneously besides helping principals to overcome some problems dealing with decentralization.

Adaptive thinking and leadership training for cultural awareness and communication competence

This paper presents a report on a new multiplayer simulation game for government and/or non‐government interpersonal and intercultural communication training that launched in December 2004 and was designed expressly to serve as a non‐violent virtual sandbox in which multiple players practice communication skills, mental agility, and hone cultural awareness acumen. The game is currently being used in leadership training programs.
