The term Business Intelligence (BI), first used in 1989 to describe an umbrella concept by Howard Dressner involving methods for improving business decision-making based on facts. It gradually evolved into data-driven decision support systems (DSS) in the contemporary era of technology, replacing terms like executive information systems. BI Solution works as a combination system of collection and storage of data to generate 'actionable information and knowledge at the right time, in the right location, and in the right form. Currently, BI solutions act as a priority for chief information officers (CIO), as a Gartner survey reported, to enhance business effectiveness and innovation by generating quality information of the company and using it in the decision-making process. Over the last few decades, business data volumes have increased tremendously due to the rise of business information systems such as ERP, CRM, etc. International Data Corporation (IDC) highlighted in the 6th annual study that the digital universe comprising structured and unstructured data will grow 300 times to 40,000 exabytes from 130 exabytes by 2020. The size of data will double every two years from 2012 onwards. India has witnessed the increased implementation of business intelligence solutions in the past decade, especially in the service industry, comprising retail, healthcare, BFSI, and IT organizations, to enhance their business practices & procedures and achieve competitive advantage. The present research aims to do a comparative study of business intelligence solution implementation challenges among service industry start-ups, small & medium, and large enterprises.

Evaluation Market Penetration of Infrastructure as A Service (IaaS) to Formulate Marketing Strategy: Study Case Lumos Tech Indonesia

The forecasted revenue growth of cloud computing has become a huge opportunity for IT infrastructure providers, especially for Infrastructure as a Services (IaaS) which have the biggest portion of the cloud computing business. International Data Corporation claims that the estimate revenue for IaaS in 2026 will reach USD 65.5 billion with CAGR 22.8%. Lumos Tech is an alias name that is used to protect the true identity of the firm that is being studied. As a global technology company who provides IT Infrastructure including IaaS offer, ideally Lumos Tech Indonesia should be able to capture this opportunity. However, the company is having a slow penetration rate which approximate to 0.2% for the IaaS offer. It is essential for the company to find factors that hinder the market penetration rate and design a marketing strategy to improve the business performance. The study adopts a mixed methodology where quantitative method is adopted to perform market assessment and the qualitative method focus on assessing the current condition to define the internal factors that hamper market penetration for IaaS offer. The data collection is categorized into two; the external data collection covers the data gathering from outside Lumos Tech through questionnaire, reports and journals and the internal data collection is done by doing an in-depth semi structure interview with the owner of the problem. Furthermore, the analysis is performed by utilizing PESTEL, Porter’s 5 Forces, quantitative descriptive and coding process. The objective of this study is to formulate marketing strategy for Lumos Tech’s IaaS offer by leveraging a modified Business to Business (B2B) marketing mix.

Relationship between the concepts of “Digital transformation” and “Industry 5.0”: bibliometric analysis

At the current stage of transformational transformations, the problems of transformation of the national economy are extremely relevant. And these questions are especially relevant in the conditions of rapid development of the digital economy. According to estimates by Forbes experts, 67% of the leaders of companies from the Global 2000 list chose digital transformation as a priority goal of their corporate strategy in 2018. According to a study by analysts International Data Corporation, the total global spending on digital technologies will grow by 16.8% annually and amounted to 2.1 trillion dollars in 2019. Research by Huawei and Oxford Economics has shown that intelligent network interaction will trigger the growth of the digital economy, which will reach 23 trillion dollars by 2025. This increase will be 78.3% compared to 2017 (12.9 trillion dollars). By 2025, the share of the digital economy is planned to increase by 7.2 percentage points, or from 17.1 to 24.3% of global GDP. According to the calculations of The Boston Consulting Group experts, the volume of the digital economy by 2035 will amount to 16 trillion dollars USA. In view of this, the purpose of this study is to determine the trends and key directions of digital transformation research in the era of Industry 5.0 based on bibliometric analysis using the VOSviewer software. The article carries out a bibliometric analysis of the relationship between the terms “digital transformation”, “digitalization”,”Industry 4.0”, “Industry 5.0”. It has been established that currently the problems of the digital transformation of the economy in the context of the implementation of the digital strategy of the European Union are gaining special relevance. Digital transformation is a key component of the overall strategy to transform the global economy. Correctly selected digital technologies combined with employee competencies, processes and operations will allow companies to quickly adapt to crisis situations, use promising opportunities to modernize work processes, meet new and constantly changing customer needs, stimulate growth and implement innovative and management solutions. The concept of digital transformation of the national economy in the context of Industry 5.0 should involve the use of digital tools and platforms to transform traditional business processes, improve interaction with customers, introduce innovative technologies and form a digital ecosystem. The main components of the digital transformation of critical infrastructure include: digital technologies (cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics and the Internet of Things (IoT); organizational changes (restructuring of processes to increase their flexibility, introduction of new methodologies (DevOps, Agile), formation of a digital culture); customer orientation and integration of digital channels. For effective digital transformation of the economy on a practical level, it is advisable to pay attention to such main aspects as: having a clear vision and strategy that meets business goals; involving different groups of stakeholders and ensuring the interest of the entire organization; constant monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of digital transformation initiatives; an adaptive and iterative approach that allows you to navigate the changing digital landscape. It has been proven that the priority direction of research in the future should be the substantiation of the theoretical and methodological provisions of the formation of the digital ecosystem.

Smart city maturity models: A multidimensional synthesized approach

AbstractSmart cities are one of the consequences of digital transformation, and there have been many attempts to assess the smartness of cities with various frameworks. Among these frameworks, smart city maturity models (SCMMs) evaluate the existing conditions of cities and provide guidelines for progressing through the subsequent stages of maturity. However, most maturity models follow the instructions of the first model, published by the International Data Corporation, and there are many similarities across the models. These maturity models have advantages and disadvantages, while previous studies have not addressed the differences. Therefore, this article fills this knowledge gap by systematically reviewing the existing SCMMs. The findings suggest that some trending topics, such as resiliency concerning global pandemics and cultural aspects are neglected in SCMMs. Moreover, the validation techniques of the models are not rational. The increasing demand from gamers for top-notch monitors is fueling rapid growth and intense competition in the monitor industry. According to data released by the International Data Corporation (IDC), Admiral Overseas Corporation AOC has emerged as a global leader in gaming monitor popularity. This achievement can be attributed to AOC's design strategy, which focuses on continuous product development and incorporates feedback from professional gaming enthusiasts. For companies, consumer purchasing decisions play a pivotal role as they contribute to revenue generation and help maintain competitive positions in the market. Several factors influence consumer purchasing decisions, including product quality, brand image, and price. This research aims to examine the characteristics and impact of product quality, brand image, price, and purchase decisions specifically related to the AOC 24G2E Monitor. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis as the analytical techniques. Primary data from 100 consumers of the AOC 24G2E Monitor were collected through a questionnaire, employing purposive sampling. The analysis results indicate that product quality, brand image, and price significantly influence the purchase decisions for the AOC 24G2E Monitor, with a coefficient of determination of 89.3%.

Cryptocurrency energy consumption: Analysis, global trends and interaction

The rapid spread of cryptocurrencies is one of the most relevant trends today. One of the significant risks of their spread is the increase in energy consumption, which has a negative impact on the environment due to carbon emissions. This requires the development of a scientific toolkit for assessing relationships and predicting the impact of cryptocurrencies on energy consumption, which is the aim of this paper.With the correlational regression analysis, the model of the dependence of spending on IT sector, energy consumption of Bitcoin, Ethereum and global capitalization of the cryptocurrency market was conducted, based on statistical data from Statista.com, Сoinmarketcap.com and International Data Corporation. To check the possible relationship, tests for the adequacy of the results obtained (Fisher’s test, Student’s t-test) confirmed the correctness of coefficients for independent variables.The results showed a significant direct correlation (Multiple R is 95%) of spending on IT sector, energy consumption and global capitalization of the cryptocurrency market. The established relationships allowed predicting that Bitcoin energy consumption may reach 142 Terawatt hours per year in 2026. And its impact on environment by mining in 2022 was at least 27.4 Mt of CO2 emission.As a proposal, a conclusion was made on the expediency of linking mining to the use of certain sources of electricity production, such as “residual” natural gas, nuclear power, renewable energy sources. The obtained results and conclusions may be used as a basis for political decisions in the field of energy efficiency and climate change mitigation.

While the data is obtained through documentation, observations and interviews which were then analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods, namely data in the form of spoken words or from people and their behavior that can be observed.The view of Islamic law regarding the provision of copyright protection is an appreciation for his efforts and sacrifices during the process of discovering intellectual works and these works can be included in the class of assets, namely intellectual property. With regard to the fatwa issued by the MUI regarding Copyright, the MUI views Copyright as one of the Huquq Maliyyah (property rights) that receives legal protection as mal (property) for the legal provisions issued by the MUI on Copyright. Copyright including property rights (milkiyah) in Islamic law can be obtained from various ways, including namely ihraz al-mubahat (free control of property), namely the method of ownership through control over assets that have not been controlled or owned by other parties so that assets that have become his property is obliged to be protected by both formal law and Islamic law as individual property rights. Effect of Smartphone Choice, Customer Satisfaction and Reason to Change Smartphone on Smartphone Repurchase

Advances in Smartphone technology make the growth of Smartphone users among the people more rapidly. The high growth of Smartphone users makes Smartphone manufacturers compete with each other in understanding market needs. Every competing company actually has the same goal, namely how to make the products that are made can be well received by consumers. In accordance with sales data of smart cellphones (Smartphones) that have been released by International Data Corporation (IDC) from the first quarter of 2017 to the third quarter (Q3) - 2018 experienced sales fluctuations. Smartphone sales in 2018 fell by 5.9%. Similarly, the number of smartphone shipments in Indonesia in the third quarter (Q3) -2018 reached 8.6 million units, up 18% annually. But from quarter to quarter it decreased by 9%. Within 1-2 years Indonesian people like to switch smartphones, more than 56% of respondents replace their smartphones with new ones. This is consistent with data from the MARS research institute conducting a survey of 290 respondents in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi areas. Within a period of more than 2 years, there were 20.6% of Smartphone users making smartphone replacements. The fastest duration that users do is within 3 months, done as much as 2, 4%. Every new smartphone launched, the interest of the people of Indonesia will certainly remain high. Consumer behavior when buying any product including smartphones not only concerns his own behavior, but a combination of the behavior of others who help or support the purchasing process that can work as an initiator, influencer, and decision maker and the level of involvement of all these people may differ in each purchase. There are many variables that influence consumer behavior including, age, sex, personal motivation, needs, attitudes and values, personality characteristics, socio-economic and cultural background, professional status to social influences such as family, friends, colleagues and society as a whole. This research was conducted to determine the effect of Smartphone choice, Customer Satisfaction, Reason To Change Smartphone on Smartphone Repurchase. The methodology of this research is to collect data in the form of questionnaires distributed online to respondents who are consumers of Smartphone users, the method used in this study is a quantitative method by collecting a sample of approximately 400 respondents. Based on the results of data analysis found that variables consisting of Smartphone choice, Customer Satisfaction and Reason To Change Smartphone and a positive and significant effect on Repurchase.

India is set to become the third-largest market for smart phones in four years, according to researcher international data Corporation, with phone manufacturers launching more affordable 4G handsets and looking to tap buyers in small cities and towns. This research is designed to provide information about customer perception and factors affecting their buying behavior with respect to Mi smart phones. The research design used is exploratory in nature which will provide an emphasis on numerical data (number). The data for analysis was gathered by using questionnaire method, with the sample for the representative customer with simple random sampling approach. There are several observations that each Smartphone has their own benefit and luxury offered by the companies. The product attributes offered by Mi’s are not as desirable as its competitors (such as Samsung) according to customer perception. The company needs to improve each of their products to gain customer expectations. It is recommended that the company should launch smarter phone with standard quality for lower classes as this will help them to reach more consumer as lower classes population in country are high.

The impact of digitalization on the Russian economy

Subject. This article discusses the development of digital technologies and their impact on workforce productivity and economic growth in Russia. Objectives. The article aims to assess the impact of digital technologies on labor productivity and economic growth in Russia. Methods. For the study, I used regression estimation using the two-stage least squares method. Expenditures on information and communication technologies (ICT) and investments in assets for the acquisition of ICT equipment were used as baseline variables. The Rosstat, Bank of Russia, World Bank, and the International Data Corporation data have been considered. Results. The article presents the results of an assessment of the impact of ICT development on labor productivity and economic growth in Russia. Conclusions and Relevance. The article establishes the positive impact of growth in spending and investment in ICT on labor productivity and economic growth in Russia. The hypothesis of a positive impact of ICT infrastructure development on these indicators is not confirmed. The results of the study can be used by market participants and public authorities when making decisions on investing in the ICT sector.

AbstractCloud computing has emerged as one of the most groundbreaking technologies to have redefined the bounds of conventional computing techniques. It has ushered in a paradigm shift and pushed the frontiers of how computing assets, inclusive of infrastructure resources, software, and applications can be used, adopted, and purchased. The economic benefits or rather the fundamental economic shift offered by cloud computing in reducing capital expenditure and converting it to operational expenditure has been a primary motivating factor for early adopters. However, despite its inherent advantages that include better access and control, there exist several reservations around cloud computing that have impeded its growth. The control, elasticity, and ease of use that cloud computing is associated with also engender many security issues. Security is considered to be the topmost hurdle out of the nine identified challenges of cloud computing as underlined by the study conducted by the International Data Corporation. It therefore follows that an exceedingly secure system is essential for the safeguarding of an organizational entity, its resources, and assets. In this article, it is our endeavor to offer insights into the implementation of a novel architecture that can deliver an enhanced degree of security for outsourcing information in a cloud computing environment while involving numerous independent cloud providers. The framework comprises of dual encryption and data fragmentation techniques that envision the secure distribution of information in a multicloud environment. The various concerns surrounding this area, specifically, the challenges of integrity, security, confidentiality, and authentication have been addressed. All simulations and scrutiny have been accomplished on an Oracle virtual machine Virtual‐Box and a Fog environment on an Ubuntu 16.04 platform. Extensive safety measures and performance analysis that take into account diverse parameters, especially execution time, integrity, throughput, entropy, transfer rate, and delay demonstrate that our projected proposal is vastly proficient and satisfies the security prerequisites of secure data sharing and can efficiently withstand security attacks.

Analyzing distributed denial of service attacks in cloud computing towards the Pakistan information technology industry

Objectives: Cloud computing technology is in continuous development, and with numerous challenges regarding security. In this context, one of the main concerns for cloud computing is represented by the trustworthiness of cloud services in the Pakistan Information Technology (IT) industry. This problem requires prompt resolution because IT organizations in Pakistan adopting cloud services would be exposed to increased expenditures while at a higher risk. A survey conducted by International Data Corporation (IDC) in August 2008 confirms that security is the major barrier for cloud users in Pakistan.Material/methods: We have proposed the mathematical-based model for an estimate of our user’s requirements regarding our resource investment based on queuing theory to overcome these security issues in cloud technology. We are adopting a system and real-world analysis using data set experiments.Result: In this article, we proposed a solution to overcome the Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks in a cloud computing environment in the Pakistan IT services; because along with discussed above phenomena, we also used DST and FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) for mentioned attacks. Conclusion:Our proposed solution based on Dempsters combination rule is to analyzed mixture proof of different types of cloud attacks in IT industries in Pakistan.
