Menumbuhkan Minat Baca Siswa Melalui Pemanfaatan Pojok Baca Di Kelurahan Tomuan

This community service program aims to increase children's interest in reading in Tomuan Village, East Siantar District, Pematangsiantar City, through the establishment of a reading corner. This service uses methods that include preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of the service show that the reading corner received a positive response from the community, with an increase in children's interest in reading, especially towards picture books and short stories. Children who were initially shy became more enthusiastic and began to explore the various books available. The reading corner is also a means of socialization, where children share stories and interact with each other. In conclusion, this program succeeded in creating a supportive reading environment, improving literacy skills, and forming reading habits from an early age. In this way, it is hoped that the reading corner can produce a generation that is intelligent, responsible and ready to face future challenges.

The ABoVE L-band and P-band airborne synthetic aperture radar surveys

Abstract. Permafrost-affected ecosystems of the Arctic–boreal zone in northwestern North America are undergoing profound transformation due to rapid climate change. NASA's Arctic Boreal Vulnerability Experiment (ABoVE) is investigating characteristics that make these ecosystems vulnerable or resilient to this change. ABoVE employs airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) as a powerful tool to characterize tundra, taiga, peatlands, and fens. Here, we present an annotated guide to the L-band and P-band airborne SAR data acquired during the 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022 ABoVE airborne campaigns. We summarize the ∼80 SAR flight lines and how they fit into the ABoVE experimental design (Miller et al., 2023; https://doi.org/10.3334/ORNLDAAC/2150). The Supplement provides hyperlinks to extensive maps, tables, and every flight plan as well as individual flight lines. We illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of airborne SAR data with examples of preliminary results from ABoVE studies including boreal forest canopy structure from TomoSAR data over Delta Junction, AK, and the Boreal Ecosystem Research and Monitoring Sites (BERMS) area in northern Saskatchewan and active layer thickness and soil moisture data product validation. Writing medical case report – A primer for the beginners

In scientific writing, a case report is considered the first attempt by the novice author to convey a message to the peer group and maybe to a non-technical literate person. Preparing a case report is the most useful tool in learning, as the basic methodology is similar to writing scientific literature and subsequent publications. A medical case report shares with the intended and interested reader an unforeseen clinical occurrence and information. As the source of future big discoveries often has its seed in the case reports, following the standard guideline is of utmost importance to young researchers for their entry into the medical literature universe.

Flat rent price prediction in Berlin with web scraping

Internet data pose a challenge to the traditional system of official statistics, which relies on more conventional sources such as surveys and registers, not readily adaptable to rapid changes. Expanding this system to include internet data is currently at an experimental stage, exploring these sources’ potentials and benefits. This paper describes a project conducted within the ESSnet Trusted Smart Statistics – Web Intelligence Network framework. It investigates the use of online apartment listings to analyze the rental market. We used web scraping to extract information from two online real estate portals for flats in the city of Berlin. Using this data, we developed a model to predict rental prices per square meter based on the accommodation’s features and location within the city. We detected offers which appear in both portals by means of statistical matching and removed duplicate offers. Missing values were treated by multiple imputation. The prediction model is a semi-parametric approach where the postal districts are used to describe the location effect. Comparisons with microcensus results and the local rent index reveal significant differences between the market of online flat offers and the stock of existing flat contracts. The education sector requires innovation to prepare students to become competent individuals and to produce high-quality individuals in society by equipping them with various 21st-century skills to meet the demands of changing times. Through the everyone is teacher here learning strategy, it is hoped that students can develop critical thinking skills, which are highly essential in the current era of globalization.This research aims to explore how the everyone is teacher here learning strategy is implemented in SMKN 1 Wonosobo, its impact on fostering critical thinking, the factors influencing its implementation, and the outcomes after its execution. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis involves triangulation.The findings reveal that the Islamic Education teachers at SMKN 1 Wonosobo have effectively implemented the everyone is teacher here learning strategy. The cultivation of students' critical thinking skills has started to progress well, although there are indicators that need reinforcement due to some students' lack of concentration in receiving new material. Supportive factors for the "everyone is teacher here" strategy are easily planned and implemented, encouraging students to actively engage in developing their thinking skills. Inhibiting factors include lack of concentration, reading interest, and self-confidence among some students. The implementation of the "everyone is teacher here" strategy has led to students' progress in critical thinking, increased self-confidence, self-expression, and greater responsibility.

The subject of the study is the interest of the French socialist press at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries in the spiritual and political position of Russian writers (using the example of the socialist newspaper "L'Aurore". The article is devoted to an urgent topic – Franco-Russian cultural ties based on the analysis of the Russian literature Since 1870. The purpose of the work is to analyze and generalize the semantic content of published texts from the perspective of determining their adherence to a given political course and the idea of engagement. The material was selected by the method of directional sampling, collection and classification of articles, taking into account the editors' particularly close attention to such writers as F.M. Dostoevsky, Lev Tolstoy, Maxim Gorky. The research methodology is complex and includes content analysis using biographical, historical, cultural and comparative methods. The author's special contribution to the research of the topic is the explication of the close attention of the Western press, especially of the left, to the position of Russian writers, which served to attract the interest of the mass reader to their works. However, the main conclusion of the author is that the driving incentive for the press to address the names of great thinkers was the affirmation of socialist ideals and the idea of the writer's engagement, his unity with the people and opposition to power. The novelty of the work is determined by the scrupulous selection of relevant material and the practical development of this topic, which has so far remained outside the field of research by other authors.

Reading is an activity that stimulates the brain through written symbols that convey information and reasoning. According to the UNESCO report, Indonesian people's interest in reading is very low, namely 0,001%, which means one in 1.000 Indonesians read diligently. To increase the young generation's passion for reading, a reading culture must be instilled from childhood. This must be achieved by making the culture of reading fun and easily accepted by the younger generation, because of the challenges of increasingly rapid development and various advances in information technology, the culture of reading children's books is increasingly being eroded. Involving children directly is one way to encourage their interest in reading. To encourage children at the Immanuel Orphanage to be more motivated to learn, this service activity aims to provide quality teaching, both materially and morally. This is based on the fact that some children lack interest in learning, especially in reading. This service activity motivates children and shows the fun side of reading to gain broad knowledge. The activity methods used are socialization and motivating learning, especially in fostering interest in reading in the younger generation

A Literacy Program in Increasing of Reading Interest and Children Creativity at Tempurejo Village by Collaborative KKN 045 Jember

The Collaborative Real Work Lecture Program (KKN-K) is a form of activity carried out to provide students with learning experiences in social life so that they can help local communities and villages. The KKN-K activities carried out by KKN-K 045 students have a literacy theme called 'Gemilang' or the Inspiring Reading Movement and Brilliant Literacy. The aim of establishing Gemilang activities is to increase interest in reading and foster creativity for the children of Tempurejo Village. This literacy activity was carried out in three places, namely MI Miftahul Ulum, Al-Muna Civilization House, and TPQ Izzatul Qur'an, Tempurejo Village, Jember Regency. The method used during the activity was field observation. Through literacy development activities for the children of Tempurejo Village, especially kindergarten and elementary school age, it is hoped that this will increase their interest in reading and develop children's creativity.

Unveiling students’ learning strategies and barriers to extensive reading: a case study in an Indonesian university

The present study aims to investigate students’ learning strategies and barriers encountered in extensive reading activities. This research was designed with a qualitative case study method. The study recruited six Indonesian university EFL students majoring in English language education to participate and a lecturer in the study program. Data were garnered through semi-structured interviews as a data collection method. The data were analyzed thematically to find emerging themes. The research findings demonstrate that the EFL students employed three extensive reading comprehension strategies. The three strategies included predicting by inferring the meaning of unfamiliar words by making guesses based on the context, guessing from context by utilizing previous knowledge about the topics in the text, and paraphrasing by creating sentences from the obtained information. Another finding also uncovers the university students’ barriers in extensive reading, including the students’ language background and lack of interest in reading. This study concludes with practical implications for how EFL students engage in extensive reading with various learning strategies and how university teachers boost their students’ interests in more diverse extensive reading activities.

Pengaruh Konsumsi Manga terhadap Minat Membaca Generasi Z di Indonesia

This study examines the impact of manga consumption on the reading interest of Generation Z in Indonesia. The research aims to provide insights into how manga reading habits influence overall reading behavior among Generation Z. Using survey methods and statistical analysis, the study employs a quantitative approach to assess the intensity of manga reading and its effect on reading interest. The findings indicate a positive but not significant relationship between manga reading intensity and reading interest. The regression equation Y = 2.117 + 0.316x suggests a 31.6% increase in manga reading intensity for every unit increase in reading interest. However, the regression coefficient is not significant, and the correlation between the variables is weak, with a value of 0.285. These results imply that while there is a positive trend, manga reading intensity does not significantly influence reading interest among Generation Z in Indonesia. This study provides valuable insights for educators and policymakers to develop more effective literacy strategies tailored to Generation Z's reading habits. Urgensi Minat Baca Peserta Didik terhadap Kemampuan Literasi dan Numerasi di UPT SD Negeri 3 Gresik

This study examines the urgency of students' reading interest in literacy and numeracy skills at UPT SD Negeri 3 Gresik. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive type. Subject determination is carried out using purposive sampling, which is a technique of determining the subject using certain criteria. Data collection techniques in this study are by observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The data collected came from related respondents/subjects who aimed to get an idea of the focus of the problem in this study. Questionnaires are distributed online so that students can work on questionnaires with flexible time with a predetermined period. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of data analysis show that interest in reading is very important for the development of students' literacy and numeracy skills. Without a high interest in reading, students will automatically experience obstacles to the development of literacy and numeracy skills. Policy innovations created and carried out by the principal together with all teachers at UPT SD Negeri 3 Gresik in the form of habituation every week and the implementation of interesting teaching methods and media to build interest in reading to improve the literacy and numeracy skills of UPT SD Negeri 3 Gresik students.

LITERATURA DE CORDEL E ENSINO: PROPOSTAS DE LEITURA

Cordel literature brings together cultural heritage knowledge and experiences around its poetics through a language that expresses seeing and hearing, as important elements of the poetics of the voice. Cordel has a vast epistemological and interdisciplinary field, that opens up space for different dialogues on varied themes such as nature, culture, human values, love, death, religiosity, historical and social facts, promoting new perspectives and discoveries in the critical and literary formation of a reader. Because of that, the objective is to propose reading cordels in the classroom, observing the constituent elements of this genre, the thematic diversity, the language with its metaphors, comparisons and poetic images. The methodology is propositional. It consists of presenting proposals for reading cordels by three poets from Ceará: Dalinha Catunda, Patativa do Assaré and Moreira de Acopiara for analysis and discussion in the classroom, in order to take into account the contribution of this genre to the cultural formation of a reader. As a theoretical reference, we use the studies of Candido (2000), Bachelard (1988, 2001), Pinheiro (2012). Zumthor (1997). It is expected that reading cordels in the school environment waken the reader's interest for popular culture, orality, memory, besides that, there should be respect and appreciation for our traditions (cultural heritage knowledge).

Implementasi Media Big Book dalam Meningkatkan Literasi Membaca Siswa Sekolah Dasar

The aim of this research is to hone the reading literacy skills of third grade students at Al-Azhar Muhammadiyah Simabur Islamic Elementary School using big book media. It is hoped that in the future, students will not only read but will be able to derive meaning from the reading material they read. Therefore, it is necessary to arouse students' interest in reading first.Classroom Action Research (CAR) is a research method carried out, there are four PTK steps applied in this research, namely, planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Then the research instruments applied in this research were observation, tests and interviews. Moving on to the data analysis applied in this research, namely qualitative and quantitative.Based on research conducted, there was a discovery that the implementation of big book media could improve students' reading literacy skills, as evidenced by an increase in students' reading literacy skills from cycle 1 to cycle 2. In cycle 1, students' reading literacy reached a class average of 70.7 and students those who have completed and those who have not completed both get a percentage of 50%, consisting of 10 students each. Then in cycle 2 there was an improvement, it can be seen that the class average was 79.15. 90% of students who completed their studies consisted of 18 students, and 10% of those who did not complete their studies consisted of 2 students. This proves that big book media can improve students' reading literacy skills well.

THE INFLUENCE OF DESTINATION IMAGE AND PERCEIVED VALUE ON SATISFACTION OF LITERACY PARK

The public's low interest in reading has caused Indonesia to become one of the countries with the lowest literacy rate in the world. Literacy is an activity that includes skills in reading and writing, skills in interpreting information used for the development of education, development and quality human resources.This research has the purpose to determine the influence of destination image and perceived value on satisfaction. The research method used was a survey with data collection through a questionnaire distributed to 251 respondents by using purposive sampling. The measurement scale in this study used a 5-point Likert scale.The analysis of the variance-based SEM method, PLS-SEM, shows that destination image significantly affects satisfaction and perceived value significantly. This research aims to positively contribute to advancing the tourism industry, especially in a literacy park destination, bolster sustainable government policies, and shape visitors loyalty towards literacy park. The study results provide the implication that destination image and perceived value have an important role in shaping visitors satisfaction. Besides that, this research uses variables rarely used in the tourism industry to measure satisfaction. This research proves that destination image and perceived value have a positive and significant relationship to satisfaction. This research's empirical basis and findings can serve as a reference for future studies. This research was conducted to strengthen research regarding destination image variables, perceived value, satisfaction and destination loyalty in a tourist destination, especially the Martha Christina Tiahahu Literacy Park. It is also hoped that this research can contribute to increasing literacy activities in Indonesia. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as material for innovation and evaluation by marketers in managing destinations. Apart from that, it is hoped that the results of this research can also provide input for similar tourist destinations in increasing visitor loyalty.

The results of the research It was found that the factors that cause difficulties in writing scientific papers are, for example, the low motivation of students in writing, lack of confidence and in writing, lack of confidence and lack of mood, low interest in reading, low student curiosity, and students' understanding of scientific papers that are not good scientific writing as well as low mastery of the writing the rules of writing.

Analysis of Reading Behavior and Influencing Factors of Preschool Children in Rural China

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the reading behavior of preschool children in rural China and its influence by their family and socio-cultural environment. The study builds a theoretical framework based on theories of reading behavior research, and empirically analyzes the influencing factors using appropriate research design and data collection methods. The findings reveal that family background, such as parents' education level and family economic situation, has a significant influence on children's reading behavior; meanwhile, the social and cultural environment and kindergarten reading education also play an important role in promoting preschool children's interest in reading and the formation of reading habits. The conclusion provides empirical support for how to improve the reading behavior of rural preschool children, and is of reference value for the formulation and implementation of related policies.

This research aims to determine the role of literacy activities in increasing students' interest in reading and writing. This research is qualitative research in the form of library research, namely a method of collecting data, understanding and researching theories from various scientific literature. Collecting data by searching for sources and constructing them from various sources such as books, journals and existing research. The research results show that literacy indirectly motivates students to be interested in reading and writing activities. From literacy activities, students are interested in taking part in writing, storytelling or reading competitions organized by the school with a high sense of responsibility. Literacy can provide benefits for students, for example increasing insight, making it easier to read and understand the material being studied. By building and maintaining a strong literacy culture, society can create an environment that supports and stimulates interest in reading and writing among all generations

PENGEMBANGAN VIDEO PROMOSI BUKU MENUJU DIGITALISASI PERPUSTAKAAN STKIP TAMAN SISWA BIMA

The research objective of developing this book promotional video was to increase students' interest in reading in an interesting way. The conclusion obtained from this research is a book promotional video towards digitizing the STKIP Taman Siswa Bima library which has been tested for its feasibility. This research uses the Research and Development (R & D) method with the Borg and Gall development model starting from needs analysis, planning, development, testing, evaluation, updating, improvement, correction, modification and ending with product dissemination. According to the final evaluation by media experts, a percentage of 95% shows that the book promotional video that has been made is declared valid. Meanwhile, the final results obtained by small group participants in the book promotional video obtained a percentage of 88.3% which was declared Very Decent. The final results obtained by large group participants in the book promotional video obtained a percentage of 86.5% which was declared Very Decent. According to the results of the study, the mean percentage (%) results involving 30 students obtained a percentage of 86.7% in the Very Eligible classification.
