In today's school, the opportunities for personal choice of a person, realization of his professional and other needs are reflected to a greater extent, but a popular and effective form of organization of life of the child in the educational process is the work of the mug. We view it as an effective way of forming a personality and its creative potential in the context of timely identification of the interests, abilities and inclinations of children. Familiarization with the organization and conducting of group work on informatics of the basic school and presentation of methodical features of the developed circle «Fundamentals of computer animation». The theoretical (analysis and systematization of scientific literature on which the conceptual-categorical apparatus was defined and generalizations of different views) was used and empirical (study and generalization of domestic and foreign pedagogical experience, interviews, discussions with teachers and teachers for checking the effectiveness of the developed circle as an after-school lesson in computer science). The article outlines the benefits of group work and its peculiarities of organization and conduct. It is noted that extra-curricular activity for students is an important area, which has rather wide opportunities for self-expression, as well as for personal self-determination and self-realization. Considering the group work on computer science, computer work can easily provide an interesting game character, therefore, such classroom classes are especially attracting students. We highlight the main areas of group work on computer science, among which are the study of computer graphics and animation. The author proposes the development of the organization and holding of the circle «Fundamentals of computer animation» which examines the theoretical foundations of animation and practical skills to develop dynamic images with the help of specialized software for work with animation.
