Deductive Care Methodology: Describing and testing modes of care research

ObjectiveDefine the modes of procedure of the Deductive Care Methodology (DCM) in the generation of knowledge about person's health care. MethodologyDesign and test of the DCM modes based on three phases: mapping of the DCM, generation of models from this methodology and testing of the models through studies in a clinical context. ResultsThe DCM presents five levels of abstraction with three modes broken down to 16 types. The modes are: Philosophical Mode to conceptualize and obtain generalities about reality, Mathematical Mode to operate with generalities, and Physical Mode to operationally verify, validating the results and the predictive capacity of the model. This MDC allows the creation of three models: Knowledge Model about Person Care, an ontology of care, Vulnerability Model about the person and Taxonomic Triangulation Model for knowledge management. All models generate products for computational knowledge management. In addition, the models are applied in teaching and generate research with more than a hundred participations in conferences and journals, of which five impact publications (from 2008 to 2022) classified in the categories of Nursing and Informatics are analysed. ConclusionsThe DCM collects prior knowledge to work with certainties, evidence and applying inferences that do not depend on the number of cases or inductive designs. This research presents a formal structure of the DCM with an interdisciplinary orientation between Health Sciences and Computer Sciences.

Virtual influencers and data privacy: Introducing the multi-privacy paradox

Virtual influencers have a growing presence in social media, reshaping the traditional interactions between influencers and followers. Through an interdisciplinary orientation, we assess the implications of this phenomenon for data privacy. Specifically, we argue that, given that the virtual influencer is not a human being, an unbalanced privacy risk arises from possible data vulnerability, cybercrime, and the creation of fake profiles. We explore these risks through a qualitative exploratory study with 28 followers of virtual influencers. Our work culminates with a conceptual framework that highlights what we define as a multi-privacy paradox. We offer actionable ways for organizations to manage privacy and protect consumers dealing with virtual influencers in the metaverse.

International Advances in Business Discourse Research (2013-2022): A CiteSpace-based Investigation and Analysis of WOS

This paper provides a quantitative and qualitative visual investigation and analysis of the advances in international research on business discourse over the last decade via CiteSpace. Primary findings are: 1) Based on Publication Trend, business discourse research has undergone an upward tendency with few fluctuations; 2) Regarding Keyword Clustering, heated emphasis is laid on research areas encompassing different business scenarios, disciplinary fields (e.g., pedagogy, sociology), and information technological methods (e.g., natural language processing) due to the globalization and digitalization of business activities; 3) Grounding Disciplinary Distribution and Co-occurrence, the main theoretical perspectives in business discourse research comprise linguistics, the interdisciplinary orientation of management and economics, and other applications and extensive research; 4) Topics in Keyword Timeline and Keyword Burst emerge (e.g., social media, systems, and impact). Visualization of business discourse research is expected to offer implications and insights for future research and business practices.

Eine neue Text- und Aufgabensammlung zur deutschen Sprachgeschichte in statu nascendi. Eine Projektskizze

The topic of this paper is the role of German language history in the context of university-based German studies abroad (so called “Auslandsgermanistik”) with focus on German studies in the Czech Republic and selected didactic aspects. Above all, the paper aims to present a project of a new collection of texts and tasks on German language history, which is currently being developed at the Department of Germanic Studies (Faculty of Arts, Charles University). The paper comments on the specific features of the book, including a focus on German texts from the Czech Lands and interdisciplinary orientation, among others. The appendix contains excerpts from the forthcoming publication.

The abdominal brain: neuroanatomic perspectives for the abdominal surgeon

The "abdominal brain" does not only consist of a separate enteric nervous system but also of bidirectional connections to the autonomous nerve system with parasympathicus und sympathicus as well as brain and spinal cord. Novel studies have shown that these connections can quickly transfer information on the ingested nutrients to the brain to conduct the feeling of hunger and more complex behaviour, such as "reward-related learning". However, even emotional experience, in particular, stress, has a strong impact onto the gastrointestinal system. The immune system, motility and barrier function of the gastrointestinal tract are modulated by the intestinal microbiota. Local bacteria may directly influence neuronal communication by released metabolic products and neuropeptides as well as may control inflammatory factors. Intensive research over the last 10 years was able to provide evidence that intestinal microbiota may affect emotional and cognitive aspects of our behaviour and, thus, it might be in the focus of numerous neuropsychiatric diseases, such as depressions and anxiety disorders.The presented review is to provide a short summary of the I): anatomic basics of the so-called gut-brain axis and II): modi of the bidirectional regulation. Through indirect connections to the limbic system, gut-brain axis can substantially influence stress and anxiety but also the pain processing. In addition, the role of microbiota is outlined and future paths are shown, e.g., how the (microbiota-)gut-brain axis may alter emotional experience, pain processing and intestinal function. Such associations are relevant for further development of visceral medicine, and, thus, also for the abdominal surgeon to derive future treatment concepts with interdisciplinary orientation.

The work experiences and needs of lone community psychologists: Exploring diversity of settings and identities.

Community psychologists (CPs) are committed to value-based praxis, an interdisciplinary orientation, and an ecological approach to community collaboration in pursuit of social justice and liberation. Because no setting is immune to the impacts of the intersecting systems of oppression in which we are embedded, CPs end up working in a wide array of settings, and often as the only CP in the setting. This dynamic-operating as a "lone" CP-may be rewarding as the CP is able to provide unique value at work, or may present specific challenges, particularly if the CP's sense of community or mattering is compromised. We interviewed n = 31 lone CP to explore their work experiences, including the benefits, challenges, and what they need to thrive in their current setting. Findings reveal a wide array of experiences among CPs, related to their community psychology, and other identities. Participants consistently discussed the important role of values in their decision-making and experiences at work, and provide specific recommendations as to how the Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA) can ensure all CPs across all settings can thrive. This includes providing more tangible and relational support, changing SCRA's culture and priorities, and improving community psychology undergraduate and graduate training.

Development of the Methodology of Early Foreign Language Teaching in Modern Research

The article describes the results of the research, revealing the analysis of dissertation research devoted to two areas: firstly, the problems of teaching foreign language methods, and secondly, the problems of teaching and educating preschool children. The purpose of the research is to determine the ways of developing the methodology of early foreign language teaching. As a result, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of 123 dissertation studies on scientific specialties 13.00.01 General pedagogy, history of pedagogy and education, 13.00.02 Theory and methodology of teaching and upbringing (by fields of education), 13.00.08. Theory and methodology of vocational education, for the period from 2012 to 2021, that allow to determine the main directions of the methodology development of early foreign language teaching. The question of the interdisciplinary orientation of the works is considered. Scientific developments are devoted to the methodology of early teaching foreign languages, in particular, the integration of foreign language education in the process of education of value orientations, moral education, intellectual development, the development of speech communication. It is concluded that most studies in the field of foreign language teaching methods are devoted to the formation of language sub-skills, speech skills, and the formation of competencies, however, they are focused on school-age students, adult learners. Insufficient attention is paid to the methodology of early learning of foreign languages; despite the fact that many local and foreign researchers believe that preschool children are ready for foreign language learning. Dissertation research is devoted to education and upbringing of preschool children studies aspects such as the formation of cognitive interest, development of socio-personal qualities, formation of emotional and moral guidelines, study of general pedagogical principles that contribute to the development of preschool children, that is, first of all, pedagogical aspects, while methodological aspects of teaching a foreign language are integrated into the process of upbringing a child.

ІНТЕРАКТИВНІ СОЦІО-КОМУНІКАЦІЙНІ МОДЕЛІ: ПЕРСПЕКТИВИ ВИКОРИСТАННЯ В МІЖНАРОДНИХ ВІДНОСИНАХ, ТУРИЗМІ ТА ГОТЕЛЬНО-РЕСТОРАННІЙ СПРАВІ

This article is devoted to the use of socio-communication models in the fields of international relations, tourism, hotel and restaurant business in the context of the interdisciplinary orientation of classical research. The main trends in the development of socio-communication space as part of the general information space and the Internet, in particular, are summarized. The commonality of the interdisciplinary approach for the study of communication tasks in the field of interaction as a certain interactive model of communication technologies is proved. The peculiarities of the interactive socio-communication model and its expediency of use in international relations, tourism, and hotel and restaurant business as a part of strategic, image, and business communications are established. It is determined that isolated examples in the fields of international relations, tourism, and hotel and restaurant business prove that the use of this interactive model of communication is a promising area for practical activities in these areas and further scientific forecasting, modeling, and study. The model of interactive communication is becoming relevant, based on the formation of trust by reducing the load in the information space, the formation of trusting relationships (the risk of distortion is minimized by implementing real-time communication). Isolated examples in the fields of international relations, tourism and hotel and restaurant business prove that the use of this model is a promising area for practical activities in these areas, as well as for further scientific forecasting, modeling and study of features. Areas of further research are determined by the need to use interdisciplinary methodological and theoretical developments in the field of communications and the practical implementation of certain socio-communication technologies in the fields of international relations, tourism and hotel and restaurant business. Further study of the implementation of interactive models of interaction between participants in communication processes will clarify and improve the effectiveness of the implementation of strategic and business communications in various fields.

The Biopolitical Turn, Marxism and the Radicalization of Social Theory

In recent years, the concept of biopolitics has gained remarkable acceptance in the social sciences and humanities. The study of biopolitics has been developed in a wide range of disciplines, including philosophy, economics, aesthetics, law, history, and biomedicine, which gives biopolitics a broad interdisciplinary orientation. It has resulted in a general biopolitical turn in the social sciences and humanities. It becomes an urgent and necessary task that how to identify this turn. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to grasp the basic threads, the main methods, the essential contents and the political effects of the biopolitics turn. It is worth noting that only by placing the biopolitics in the context of social-critical theory can we truly gain insight into its inner meaning. In this regard, it must be dissected in terms of Marxist methodology in order to grasp its connotation and political position, rather than accepting the premise of the biopolitics without exception. It argues that the biopolitical turn has reversed the path of traditional political research, defined a new type of political horizon, and put the conditions of measuring knowledge into the study of political context and even the whole humanities and social sciences. The conclusions are as follows: first, the radical social theory based on the “biopolitical turn” provides a new possibility for political imagination of the left. Its pan-politicized preference, however, challenges the theoretical commitments put forward by the left and their abilities to deliver. Second, in this movement, the Marxist critique of capitalism becomes an intrinsic motivation for biopolitical theory, while at the same time Marxism becomes a tradition that is constantly attempted to be transcended and replaced in the new conditions of the times. Third, in the competition for the right to interpret Marx, and in the competition between biopolitical theories, biopolitics increasingly exhausts its most central critical power against capitalism in a theoretical boom, and eventually dwindles into a resource that specific disciplines compete to appropriate.

FORMATION OF THE CONCEPT OF INFORMATION AMONG STUDENTS IN THE STUDY OF COMPUTER SCIENCE IN SECONDARY SCHOOL

Information theory refers to the teaching of an interdisciplinary orientation. To date, the scientific and practical results of information theory have found wide application in computer science, mathematics, physics, linguistics and other fundamental sciences. The article describes the theoretical, practical and pedagogical aspects of the concept of information. It is established that information is a fundamental concept and its place in social and natural processes is determined. The role of the subject of computer science in the study of fundamental problems of the concept of information in the educational process of secondary and higher schools is considered. The essence and application of the Hartley and Shannon formulas are revealed. These equations are the basic equations of information theory. Based on the theory of probability, the concept of information uncertainty is given and the unit of its measurement is presented. Various scientific directions of information theory are investigated: the measurement of information values and the use of the Shannon equation in the testing process.

СТУДІЮВАННЯ ФАХОВОЇ МОВИ В ЛІНГВОДИДАКТИЧНОМУ ТА ВЛАСНЕ ЛІНГВІСТИЧНОМУ АСПЕКТАХ

The article focuses on the process of developing scholarly ideas on professional languages in the linguodidactic and linguistic aspects in the middle of the XXth–early XXIst centuries. Some theoretical definitions of the notion “professional language” and its features are systematized and concretized. It is emphasized that today the issues of studying professional languages are characterized by interdisciplinary orientation, covering applied linguistics, functional stylistics, theory of intercultural communication, linguodidactics, etc. It is noted that in the linguodidactical aspect, the professional language is considered as a subject of professionally oriented learning, and from the point of view of linguistic direction, professional language is viewed as a dynamic component of the national language. It is concluded that the professional language as a functional variety of the national language is a historical category with its own specifics, and in terms of its place in the national language, the professional language is considered as: 1) a general language structure of the national language in the status of an autonomous fragment; 2) an integral part of the national language. The term “academic and professional language” is highlighted, refering to the type of the language used by discursive communities or groups of professionals who share common values and use the same genres and terminology for communication.

Formalization of the semantic structure of the text in the conditions of digital communication

The questions of the principles of teaching, the choice of effective methods and techniques of textual activity, as well as a deep understanding of the nature of communication do not lose their relevance and determine the content of the study of variable and mandatory academic disciplines. It is obvious that continuity between the stages of education, integration horizontally and vertically (in sync with the current transformations and the diachrony of historical experience), are necessary for effective learning. In this regard, the purpose of this article is to analyze the ways of representing text material, modern means of structuring information. Special attention is paid to the methods of taking notes of the read and listened text and methods of explaining new material using graphs and grammatical constructions, which are effective in the conditions of digital communication. The hypothesis of the study: organized communication in synchronous, asynchronous, including voice format will be more effective if you use secondary texts (summaries) and visual aids (graphs) to identify the semantic framework of the text and understand the content of the primary source. The article proposed by the author reflects the works of N. I. Zhinkin, I. A. Zimnaya, A. A. Leontiev, A. I. Novikov, V. P. Pavlova, I. V. Usacheva. As a result of the research, the author defines the principles of teaching information processing of the text. It is proved that semantic reading and listening of the educational text using the methods of text formalization contribute to the development of language skills (phonetic, lexical, grammatical), general academic listening and reading skills (analytical, periphrastic, prognostic and compensatory). The research conducted within the framework of this article allows us to conclude that the interdisciplinary orientation of text analysis is largely due to the transition of the educational process to digital forms of communication.

The latest trends in translator training in German higher education institutions

The article focuses on identifying current trends in translator education in German higher education institutions. The focus is on the educational content of future interpreters. The following trends in the organization and content of translator study have recently become particularly important in German universities: compulsory practice abroad, study of specialized information technologies, offering dual specialization, implementation of translation programs with a narrow specialization, interdisciplinary orientation in the study of special courses, formation of soft skills. It is suggested that these trends should be taken into account in the educational process of domestic higher education institutions.

In Support of a “Generalist” Orientation for an Ethics Center

Western Michigan University’s Center for the Study of Ethics in Society has always had a “generalist” approach—that is to say, an interdisciplinary orientation toward studying a broad range of ethical issues. This article explains how the center’s “generalist” orientation developed and why it is desirable for promoting public reflection about ethical issues. It focuses on these dimensions: (a) valuing an across-the-curriculum approach to promote understanding of complex ethical issues; (b) adopting a broad, rather than narrow focus, when it comes to ethics; (c) committing to practical ethics, which bridges theory and practice to shed light on issues of practical relevance to all; and (d) decentering philosophy as the arbiter for what counts as “doing ethics.” The article ends with a look at challenges concerning stable funding and administrative support for a center that does not fit neatly into a single academic unit or specialty and shares some lessons learned.

ИДЕИ УСТОЙЧИВОГО РАЗВИТИЯ В СОДЕРЖАНИИ ЕСТЕСТВЕННОНАУЧНЫХ ДИСЦИПЛИН

The article deals with the role of science education in explaining the modern environmental crisis and ways out of it. The urgency and peculiarities of education for sustainable development, its challenges to updating the content of natural science disciplines are considered. The directions of such updating are justified: reflection of modern state of science, fundamentality of knowledge, its interdisciplinary integration and worldview orientation. The conclusion is made that for understanding the interdisciplinary concept of sustainable development the set of special scientific pictures of the world is not enough. The problem of developing a natural-science picture of the world as an environmental component of education for sustainable development is posed. The article considers the basic categories of synthesis of natural-science knowledge into the natural-science picture of the world: nature, material unity of the world, development, system, self-organization, determinism, etc. It is determined that the natural scientific picture of the world, in its ecological aspect, is based on V. I. Vernadsky’s doctrine on the biosphere and biogeochemical migration of atoms, N. N. Moiseev’s doctrine on universal evolutionism, and the concept of sustainable development. It is concluded about the role of the natural sciences in the formation of the key concept of sustainable development – the ecological imperative.

La investigación cualitativa en Ciencias Humanas y Educación. Criterios para elaborar artículos científicos

La investigación cualitativa goza de una atención renovada producto de una orientación interdisciplinaria de las Ciencias Humanas y Educación. Este trabajo tiene como propósito principal plantear los criterios generales que toda investigación cualitativa debiera desarrollar y que todo artículo científico debiera explicar. La metodología empleada en este estudio es de naturaleza cualitativa cuyo diseño se enmarca en el análisis del discurso. Los principales resultados de la investigación explican la existencia de criterios generales en las investigaciones cualitativas expresados en los artículos científicos en el campo de las Ciencias Humanas y Educación. Las conclusiones del estudio indican que los artículos científicos de investigaciones cualitativas cumplen los criterios generales propuestos; sin embargo algunos de estos criterios no se encuentran explícitos, lo que denota que los artículos científicos cualitativos poseen una estructura organizativa flexible.

Управління персоналом як поняття міждисциплінарного значення в контексті соціально орієнтованої економіки

The paper highlights the social orientation of the economy’s functioning related to enterprise personnel management. Suggested analysis testifies to the fact that based on the interdisciplinary orientation of the research related to the social sphere of the economy, the process of the functioning of any economic system envisages the permanent interrelation and effects of such three entities as man, enterprise and society. It has been substantiated that the interrelation between the above specified social and economic entities makes it possible to formulate the aim and outline the theses concerning the interdisciplinary approach to determining the importance of personnel management in the socially-oriented economy system. It has been revealed that in the case of the sector of “man-enterprise” model the most characteristic interdisciplinary link in personnel management is a personnel planning which possesses such inherent traits as the personnel disposition, the distribution of duties among employees and their motivation, as well as the strategic forecasting of the career development. The author shows that in the socially-oriented model of the economy of personnel management such as HR-management, human development and personal development aim to reveal the man’s needs and interests that appear in the process of labour during the change in the professional activities and further training. Besides, the above directions prove inevitable when looking for the compromise agreement between the employer and the employee. The research conducted proves that the interrelations’ conceptual principles between the social and economic entities and the cooperation results make it possible to determine the essence of the interdisciplinary approach to personnel management. This essence lies in determining and assessing man’s social criterion and his qualitative characteristics – humanism, trust, and team spirit. The qualitative characteristics outlined in the theoretical research and are related to personnel management make it possible to form up the socially-oriented economy for the society and the political system. Simultaneously, they are of great value for the individual, the enterprise, and society, since they help make the country’s political and economic systems socially-oriented when a man is not considered of minor importance after profit, money, and capital.

관광정책연구의 학문적 지향과 과제

This study aimed to reflect on how tourism policy have been studied in Korea and to provide future directions by reviewing previous studies on tourism policy published in the Journal of Tourism Sciences. To achieve the objectives, a meta analysis was performed to examine existing studies on tourism policy from the perspective of policy study orientation, namely, problem orientation, contextuality orientation, and interdisciplinary orientation. Only the articles published between 1991 and 2020 were included in the current analysis to yield relevant outcomes. A total of 55 articles were included in the analysis. The results show that tourism policy studies of the last 30 years do not sufficiently reflect policy study orientation. Therefore, the following implications were proposed. First, more effort should be put toward drawing useful results with problem orientation. Second, collaborative research should be encouraged to strengthen interdisciplinary orientation. Third, more diverse research methods should be applied. Fourth, theoretical studies should be encouraged to improve problem orientation. Fifth, localization of tourism policy studies needs to be increased to enhance contextuality orientation. Sixth, the number of studies on tourism policy should be increased as well as the improvement of their quality. Finally, the perspective of tourism researchers toward tourism policies and related studies should be changed.

Comparative Genealogies of “Contract and Society”

AbstractSince contracts form a basic institution of every legal order, the interdisciplinary orientation of concepts of contracts reveals socio-legal inclinations of a legal order more broadly. Contrasting the UK and US Common Law of contracts with developments under German law, this Article examines the relation between normative and social science approaches, notably rooted in economics, economic sociology, and social theory in the genealogy of contract law. A shared leitmotif over the 20th century has been the drive to account for the societal embeddedness of contract. However, conceptualizations of “Contract and Society” differ considerably between legal orders in their disciplinary ingredients and design. In the US, and to a lesser extent also in the UK, the rather continuous reception of legal realism has paved the way for broad interdisciplinary perspectives on contract law, ranging from classical socio-legal, empirical work (e.g., Macaulay), economics (e.g., Williamson), sociology (e.g., Powell), and critical theory (e.g., Kennedy) to today’s landscape, where essentially instrumental and ideal-normative theories compete. Alternatively, in Germany, where the realist heritage was more ephemeral, the transformations of contract law were processed from within legal discourse and foremost in their effects on private autonomy as conceptualized, for example, in German idealism, discourse theory and critical theory. Similarly, the “constitutionalization” of contract law—even if championed for fostering private law’s reflexivity—has, for the most part, defied a socio-legal orientation. Finally, the Article highlights the path dependencies with which these different starting points translate in current debates around the role of contract in transnational governance.
