To determine the teacher's strategy in developing student creativity online in learning cultural arts and crafts at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto. This study's results provide a clear picture of the teacher's strategy in developing student creativity online in learning cultural arts and crafts at SLB B Yakut Purwokerto. Preparations made by the teacher in implementing online learning, namely the teacher preparing learning modules and videos. The module contains material and exercises. The teacher uses instructional videos to deliver the material. The strategy used by the teacher to foster curiosity in students is to use discovery learning strategies by presenting material that is interesting and can foster curiosity in students. The strategy used by the teacher to foster a sense of trust in students through online learning is an appreciative interactive strategy. The teacher gives students assignments, and then the teacher provides rewards for students who have worked on them. The strategy used by the teacher in fostering a courageous attitude in students through online learning is using interactive strategies that are carried out by providing stimuli to students, as well as by giving additional points to students who dare to express their ideas.

A Perceptual and Interactive Integration Strategy Toward Telemedicine Healthcare Based on Electroluminescent Display and Triboelectric Sensing 3D Stacked Device

AbstractThe conventional medical assistive strategy for wearable devices involves sensing physiological signals and subsequent analysis while it lacks the capability for visual interaction and often necessitates the use of additional bulky devices for display. Herein, a perceptual and interaction strategy based on electroluminescent and triboelectric sensing 3D stacked wearable device (ETD) is proposed to address current issues. The ETD utilizes a bottom triboelectric sensor for tactile physiological information, which is processed and analyzed, ultimately triggering the selective illumination of the top electroluminescent array through external power circuitry. The ETD possesses the capability to generate a 100 V with 1.5 cm2 and stable visual interaction ability at 30 V drive voltage. Based on outstanding features of the ETD, two medical assistance scenarios are explored. I) The ETD captures physiological signals, such as pulse rate, respiratory rate, and special joint flexion, and in situ displays the corresponding physiological information, effectively assisting the patients/elders in self‐monitoring. II) A bidirectional interactive telemedicine assistive system utilizing ETDs is implemented, which not only gathers real‐time activity status from patients/elders but also realizes that remote physician assesses the safety status and the assessment results are wirelessly back‐communicated to the ETD, enabling real‐time interaction of the physician advice.

Exploring the typology of reasoning influencing university teachers’ language teaching and learning strategies

Despite the critical role of reasoning in shaping language teaching and learning strategies in higher education, prior studies have either separately examined reasoning or focused on one specific type thereof and language teaching and learning strategies. To address this gap, this study took a comprehensive approach by examining various types of reasoning in language instruction and their alignment with language teaching strategies in higher education. It adopted a sequential mixed-methods design through two phases of data collection. The study instruments included a mixed-method questionnaire, interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The quantitative phase collected data from 357 university teachers of Arabic-language disciplines at the university level who completed a mixed-methods questionnaire using a 5-point Likert scale and brief written explanation. Exploratory factor analysis, descriptive and inferential analysis of variance and the Scheffé test were used to analyse the quantitative data. In the follow-up qualitative phase, 20 university teachers from the quantitative phase were observed in the classroom and interviewed, and their document tasks were analysed using thematic analysis. The results unveiled four distinct typologies of university teachers’ reasoning closely aligned with their language teaching and learning strategies: inductive, abductive, analogical, and deductive reasoning. Notably, these typologies were associated with cognitive, metacognitive, interactional, and Knowledge strategies. Furthermore, the findings highlighted the intricate interplay and mixture of these typologies, indicating that university teachers do not rely solely on one type or strategy. Finally, the conclusion section outlines critical areas for future research concerning reasoning and language teaching and learning strategies in higher education.

Cross-connection of multiplexed cylindrical vector beams using off-axis spin-decoupled metasurfaces.

Cylindrical vector beam (CVB) multiplexing communication demands effective mode cross-connection techniques to establish communication networks. While methods like polarized grating and coordinate transformation have been developed for (de)multiplexing CVB modes, challenges persist in the cross-connection of these multiplexed mode channels, including multi-mode conversion and inhomogeneous polarization control. Herein, we present an independent off-axis spin-orbit interaction strategy utilizing spin-decoupled metasurfaces. Cross-connection is achieved by encoding conjugated Dammann optical vortex grating phases onto the two orthogonal circularly polarized components of CVBs. Experimental results demonstrate the successful interconversion of four CVB modes (CVB+1 and CVB-2, CVB+2 and CVB-4) using a Si-based metasurface with a polarization conversion efficiency exceeding 85%. This facilitates the cross-connection of 200 Gbit/s quadrature phase-shift keying signals with bit-error-rates below 10-6. Offering advantages such as ultra-compact device size, flexible control of CVB modes, and multi-mode parallel processing, this approach shows promise in advancing the networking capabilities of CVB mode multiplexing communication networks.

This study investigates the teaching strategies employed at MA Al-Hidayah Muara Telang, focusing on enhancing students' English speaking skills. Through qualitative analysis of classroom observations and interviews with two English teachers, the research identifies a range of strategies including Dialogue, Questions and Answers, Conversation, Role-plays, Writing Tasks, and Drilling and Chant. These methods aim to foster student engagement, improve language proficiency, and encourage active participation in the learning process. The findings reveal a consistent use of interactive and communicative strategies by the teachers to create an engaging learning environment. However, challenges such as limited student participation, anxiety about speaking English, reliance on native language, and passive behavior in class were observed. These issues highlight the complexities of teaching and learning English as a second language and the need for approaches that boost confidence and participation. The study suggests incorporating supportive teaching practices, promoting a positive classroom atmosphere, and diversifying communicative activities to address these challenges. It underscores the importance of adaptability in teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs and enhance the effectiveness of English language education. This research contributes to the discourse on English language teaching, emphasizing the critical role of interactive strategies and the psychological aspects of language learning. It calls for further exploration into innovative methods to enrich English language teaching and learning experiences at MA Al-Hidayah Muara Telang and similar educational contexts.

Gas rudder 2DOF FOPID position control based on CSFLA optimisation

Aiming at the problems of parameter variety, rigid-flexible coupling and external unknown factors interference in the process of spacecraft propulsion, a two-degree-of-freedom fractional-order PID (2DOF FOPID) controller based on a coevolutionary shuffled frog leaping algorithm (CSFLA) is designed for the high-precision control of the gas rudder servo control system. The anti-interference and target tracking capabilities of 2DOF PID is combined with the advantage of FOPID, which is insensitive to the parameters of the controlled object, to improve the performance of the control system as a whole. CSFLA is formed by integrating the self-learning evolution of elite populations and the interactive learning strategy among populations into the SFLA to enhance the global searching ability and searching accuracy of SFLA, and CSFLA is used to optimize the parameters of the 2DOF FOPID controller. The simulation results show that the designed CSFLA-2DOF FOPID controller has the advantages of fast response speed, small overshoot, strong tracking performance and strong anti-disturbance ability, which improves the dynamic and static performance and anti-disturbance ability of the gas rudder servo control system.

Fostering Pre-Service Teachers’ Professional Abilities in Art Education through Reflective Teaching Practices

The research findings reveal crucial insights into the professional abilities of pre-service art teachers and effective teaching reflection methods. In terms of professional abilities, the study identifies key areas, including teaching design ability, teaching efficacy, and teaching reflection, shedding light on the multifaceted skills required for effective art education. Additionally, the investigation delves into various teaching reflection methods, encompassing assessment tools, lesson planning integration, technology utilization, interactive strategies, and creative approaches. The purpose of the paper is to identify and evaluate the effectiveness of various financial and innovative strategies aimed at supporting economic development and adaptation to new conditions. Results. The study revealed key strategies, including international borrowing, financial system reform, incentives for the private sector, development of infrastructure for innovation, cooperation among different sectors of the economy, and activation of international integration. These strategies are crucial for navigating through periods of economic transformation and leverage opportunities for sustainable growth and innovation. The successful implementation of financial interaction and innovation strategies will not only contribute to economic recovery and development in the context of post-war reconstruction and European integration but will also ensure long-term competitiveness and economic security of countries in a complex and rapidly changing world. 2D MoB MBene: An Efficient Co-Catalyst for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production under Visible Light.

Highly active and low-cost co-catalysts have a positive effect on the enhancement of solar H2 production. Here, we employ two-dimensional (2D) MBene as a noble-metal-free co-catalyst to boost semiconductor for photocatalytic H2 production. MoB MBene is a 2D nanoboride, which is directly made from MoAlB by a facile hydrothermal etching and manual scraping off process. The as-synthesized MoB MBene with purity >95 wt % is treated by ultrasonic cell pulverization to obtain ultrathin 2D MoB MBene nanosheets (∼0.61 nm) and integrated with CdS via an electrostatic interaction strategy. The CdS/MoB composites exhibit an ultrahigh photocatalytic H2 production activity of 16,892 μmol g-1 h-1 under visible light, surpassing that of pure CdS by an exciting factor of ≈1135%. Theoretical calculations and various measurements account for the high performance in terms of Gibbs free energy, work functions, and photoelectrochemical properties. This work discovers the huge potential of these promising 2D MBene family materials as high-efficiency and low-cost co-catalysts for photocatalytic H2 production.

PRTA:Joint extraction of medical nested entities and overlapping relation via parameter sharing progressive recognition and targeted assignment decoding scheme

Nested entities and relationship extraction are two tasks for analysis of electronic medical records. However, most of existing medical information extraction models consider these tasks separately, resulting in a lack of consistency between them. In this paper, we propose a joint medical entity-relation extraction model with progressive recognition and targeted assignment (PRTA). Entities and relations share the information of sequence and word embedding layers in the joint decoding stage. They are trained simultaneously and realize information interaction by updating the shared parameters. Specifically, we design a compound triangle strategy for the nested entity recognition and an adaptive multi-space interactive strategy for relationship extraction. Then, we construct a parameter-shared information space based on semantic continuity to decode entities and relationships. Extensive experiments were conducted on the Private Liver Disease Dataset (PLDD) provided by Beijing Friendship Hospital of Capital Medical University and public datasets (NYT, ACE04 and ACE05). The results show that our method outperforms existing SOTA methods in most indicators, and effectively handles nested entities and overlapping relationships.

Exploring student roles in mixed-proficiency triads for dialogic peer feedback learning

ABSTRACT Incorporating Vygotsky’s concepts of scaffolding and Zone of Proximal Development, this paper presents a qualitative study examining student roles in dialogic peer feedback learning, focusing on Chinese English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) students in mixed translation proficiency triads within an English-Chinese translation course. During feedback sessions, the instructor assigned the receiver role, allowing flexibility for the other students to assume roles based on preference. Analysis of multiple data sources (surveys, feedback audio recordings, focus group interviews, and one-on-one semi-structured interviews) revealed students undertaking five feedback roles: receiver, observer, giver, summariser, and coordinator. Notably, students across diverse translation proficiency levels demonstrated distinct interaction strategies, particularly in giver and receiver roles, influenced by factors such as feedback literacy and student motives. Implications are provided to innovate and improve further peer feedback practices.

Navigating Cross-Cultural Communication: A Case Study of Jersey Islander's Douyin Channel

This research paper elucidates the intercultural communication practices employed by Jersey Islander, a Douyin influencer, on her channel. By studying the content, audience interaction and engagement strategies of the Jersey Islander's videos and combining them with previous studies, it analyzes in different aspects how the Jersey Islander disseminates different cultural contents and whether the Jersey Islander facilitates the dissemination and communication of different cultures through the posted video contents. In this study, four subjects were interviewed using semi-structured interviews. It aims to identify and analyze barriers to cross-cultural communication, provide valuable insights into effective cross-cultural communication employed by Jitterbug users, and explore the complexity of cross-cultural communication in the context of globalization.The findings provide useful insights into the complexities of cross-cultural communication in the digital age. The Jersey Islander's Douyin channel is a platform for cultural expression that facilitates cross-cultural communication and provides insight into the important role that Douyin content creators play in bridging cultural barriers and creating a more inclusive global community.

From museum to postmuseum. Immersive environment as a metaspace of a polyloge

The article continues the research of the principles of museum design, which was devoted to such phenomenon as “protomuseum – immersion – spectator” and the visual nature of immersiveness and the spatial and sensory experience of its living. At this stage, attention is paid to the following typology of museumified environments: museum-at-the-crossroads (Modern times/ museum-theater, museum without walls, virtual museum, etc.) through the transition from “museum – techno-immersiveness – spectator” to “postmuseum – immersiveness – non-spectator”. The evolution of digital surfing and the construction of interactive strategies, the conflict of technological immersiveness and the cognitive properties of the viewer’s psyche are considered: what happens to him inside and outside the digital environment? Particular attention is paid to the narrative immersiveness and the role of the museum in the implementation of new “ritual” and “game” practices that can compete with the philosophy of downshifting in an attempt to get out of digital reality, return to the viewer the most important sense of “proprioception” and presence in the moment.

Why Chinese “Society” is So Called: How Social and Managerial Discourse Caused the Choice of the Word at the Turn of the 19th and 20th Centuries

Introduction. The purpose of this article is to investigate the reasons for the choice of the term “shehui” to designate the concept of “society” in China at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The research novelty of the work is manifested in the complex analysis of social and managerial discourse of that time and in the identification of factors that influenced the terminological choice. The relevance of the study is conditioned by the necessity to understand the processes of formation of social sciences in China, which is important for the interpretation of modern socio-political processes in the country, including in the context of modern sociology of management. This is especially important for Russian sociology, since its area of interest includes the search for mutually beneficial strategies of interaction between Russian and Chinese societies. And this is impossible without studying China's approaches to managing the country's development processes, its internal and external social relations. Methodology and sources. The study applies a system-historical approach, as well as discursive, terminological, etymographic and factor analysis. The paper analyzes classical Chinese texts and works of Chinese enlighteners of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and also uses some materials collected by modern researchers, in particular, by N.M. Kalyuzhnaya. Results and discussion. The main results of the study were the identification and analysis of factors (including internal political, social, foreign policy and linguistic factors) that determined the social and managerial discourse of the period under study and the choice in favor of “shehui” among the main terms competing for the right to designate the concept of “society”. Author pointed out that the process of formation of social and managerial discourse was in line with the gradual decline in the influence of traditionalism and strengthening of the ideas of anti-monarchism, people's power and self-government. Conclusion. Author emphasized that the term “shehui” became one of the key terms in the social and managerial discourse of China at the turn of the century, reflecting global socio[1]political trends. The choice of this term is the result of a complex interaction of various factors in the formation of discursive practices, which themselves were further modified under the influence of the term and its derivatives.

The design and evaluation of gamified online role-play as a telehealth training strategy in dental education: an explanatory sequential mixed-methods study

To evaluate user perceptions and educational impact of gamified online role-play in teledentistry as well as to construct a conceptual framework highlighting how to design this interactive learning strategy, this research employed an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design. Participants were requested to complete self-perceived assessments toward confidence and awareness in teledentistry before and after participating in a gamified online role-play. They were also asked to complete a satisfaction questionnaire and participate in an in-depth interview to investigate their learning experience. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and framework analysis. There were 18 participants who completed self-perceived assessments and satisfaction questionnaire, in which 12 of them participated in a semi-structured interview. There were statistically significant increases in self-perceived confidence and awareness after participating in the gamified online role-play (P < 0.001). In addition, the participants were likely to be satisfied with this learning strategy, where usefulness was perceived as the most positive aspect with a score of 4.44 out of 5, followed by ease of use (4.40) and enjoyment (4.03). The conceptual framework constructed from the qualitative findings has revealed five key elements in designing a gamified online role-play, including learner profile, learning settings, pedagogical components, interactive functions, and educational impact. The gamified online role-play has demonstrated its potential in improving self-perceived confidence and awareness in teledentistry. The conceptual framework developed in this research could be considered to design and implement a gamified online role-play in dental education. This research provides valuable evidence on the educational impact of gamified online role-play in teledentistry and how it could be designed and implemented in dental education. This information would be supportive for dental instructors or educators who are considering to implement teledentistry training in their practice.
