Analysis of the Need for Interactive Multimedia Development for Second Language Learning in Primary Schools

Nowadays, there are still many students who still have difficulty learning a second language—Indonesian, especially in the city of Yogyakarta. Students still have difficulty mastering the system or rules of the language used and understanding the social rules of using a language. The next problem is that students are less able to interact using a second language. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the need for the development of interactive multimedia for second language learning in elementary school. This research is included in the type of qualitative research. The data sources in this study are students and teachers of grade II elementary school in Yogyakarta City. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The instruments used are questionnaires, observation sheets, interview guidelines, and documentation equipment. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used is the Miles Huberman interactive model data analysis technique which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The findings of this study are that the development of effective and relevant interactive multimedia is needed to facilitate more optimal second language learning in elementary schools. The implication is that the development of interactive multimedia for second language learning in elementary schools is expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality of education and student learning outcomes.

A deformation-diffusion interactive model to study crack-tip behaviour and predict crack growth rate under fatigue and hydrogen-embrittlement conditions

Hydrogen is accepted as a cleaner and more sustainable energy source, since it carries abundant energy and does not produce any effluent gas from burning when compared to fossil fuels. However, long-term degradation in mechanical properties, attributed to hydrogen embrittlement, is reported for metallic materials exposed to gaseous hydrogen, leading to accelerated crack growth behaviour under fatigue. In this paper, a visco-plastic deformation-diffusion interactive model is developed to study fatigue crack growth behaviour in a nickel-based superalloy under hydrogen-embrittlement condition. In the model, cyclic deformation is described by visco-plasticity constitutive model, while hydrogen diffusion is simulated by a modified form of Fick’s first law of diffusion which can address hydrogen diffusion driven by the hydrostatic stress gradient. In particular, trapped hydrogen, expressed as dependent on both diffusible hydrogen concentration and inelastic strain, is considered in the modelling of hydrogen diffusion. The model also describes the effects of hydrogen concentration on mechanical deformation by considering its influence on the evolution of isotropic hardening as well as on the strain state. Interaction between cyclic deformation and hydrogen diffusion is therefore studied for a crack tip in a compact tension specimen subjected to fatigue and hydrogen attack, showing a strong dependency on both loading frequency and stress intensity factor range. Subsequently, a two-parameter criterion is proposed for fatigue crack growth prediction, which accounts for the contributions of both cyclic deformation and hydrogen diffusion. The predictions show a good agreement with experimental data in terms of crack growth rate under fatigue and hydrogen-embrittlement conditions.

The role of phonological overlap and cognates in dual logographic bilinguals’ phonological processing

Most previous studies on Chinese-Japanese bilingual lexical access have shown that cognates can facilitate L2 Japanese word recognition, and phonological overlap cannot. However, the findings from this research challenge those findings. In this study, both high- and low- proficient JFL (Japanese as a Foreign Language) learners performed phoneme monitoring tasks in their second language. Orthographically similar words with high or low phonological and semantic similarity were fully crossed. Our results suggest that phonological overlap across Chinese and Japanese interferes with phoneme processing speed and accuracy, especially those of the low-proficient JFL learners. Yet as their L2 proficiency improves, this inhibition effect can become smaller. In addition, cognate semantic overlap marginally interacts with L2 proficiency to affect phoneme recognition, though cognates do not directly play a role in phoneme processing. The theoretical implications of our research suggest that phonology functions as a non-selective element in the phonological access phase for bilinguals literate in two logographic languages. Moreover, cross-logographic processing does not conform to the cascading model; instead, it can be more accurately described by the modular or interactive models of bilingual processing.

The Qur'an Learning Strategy in Raudhatul Jannah Majelis Taklim, Kapuk, West Jakarta

Majelis Taklim is a non-formal Islamic educational institution. The primary focus of study in Majelis Taklim is the learning of the Qur’an. Therefore, it is essential to understand effective Qur’anic learning strategies used in Majelis Taklim. This research aims to identify Qur’anic learning strategies. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling data collection techniques. The subject of this research is the Raudhatul Jannah Majelis Taklim in Cengkareng, Kapuk, West Jakarta. The research instruments used include observation and interviews. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, along with the Kaif learning strategy. The findings reveal that MT RJ employs direct learning strategies in Qur’anic instruction. Qur’anic learning at MT RJ focuses on both reading skills and Qur’anic knowledge. The development of Qur’anic reading skills is conducted using the Talaqqi method and the Jama’ model. Meanwhile, Qur’anic knowledge instruction uses the bi al-hikmah method and mau’izah (lecture and discussion) through the Tafahum learning model. Based on observations and interviews, the development of Qur’anic learning strategies at MT RJ is found to be effective.

Analisis Dampak Fatherless Terhadap Etika Remaja Awal di Kecamatan Medang Deras

The purpose of this study is to analyze the negative and positive impact of fatherlessness on the ethics of early adolescents in MedangDeras District. The method used in this study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The selected data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 4 teenagers. Qualitative data analysis The validity of the data is achieved through the application of the source triangulation method. The data analysis used is an interactive analysis model that includes collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the impact of fatherlessness on early adolescent ethics is negative and positive. The negative impact is feeling difficult, lack of emotional control, behavioral deviations, economic problems and feelings of fear. Positive impacts include independent learning, closeness to mothers, increased environmental fit, and responsibility. As a result of fatherlessness, adolescent ethics are declining, making adolescents experience difficulties in socializing, withdrawing, causing aggressive behavior, deviations in dress, and ethical violations in communication.

Visual Search Interactive Model for Artificial Intelligence Robotics Model forthe Agricultural Field Analysis

The Visual Search Interactive Model for Artificial Intelligence (AI) is designed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of visual data analysis across various applications. By leveraging advanced computer vision techniques and machine learning algorithms, this model enables AI systems to interpret and analyze visual information in real-time, facilitating tasks such as object recognition, image classification, and scene understanding. The interactive nature of the model allows users to engage with the AI, refining searches and improving outcomes through iterative feedback. This paper introduces the Auxiliary Clustering k-means Machine Learning (AC k-means ML) model, designed to enhance agricultural efficiency through advanced data analysis and robotic integration. The study evaluates the performance of the AC k-means ML model using a dataset comprising 1,950 samples, achieving an overall accuracy of 91.5% and a precision of 89.2%. Key performance metrics such as F1 scores averaged 88.6%, with the highest individual cluster accuracy reaching 96% for Cluster 10. In addition to data classification, the model facilitated the completion of 250 tasks with a remarkable success rate of 92%, while maintaining an average task completion time of 15.4 minutes and an energy consumption of just 0.5 kWh per task. The implementation of the AC k-means ML model resulted in a 15% increase in crop yield and substantial cost savings estimated at $2,000. With a user satisfaction score averaging 8.7 and an adaptability score of 9.0, the findings indicate that the integration of machine learning and robotics significantly optimizes agricultural processes, promoting sustainability and efficiency in farming practices.

Research on traffic flow forecasting based on interactive dynamic meta-graph learning

Traffic flow exhibits intricate dynamic spatial-temporal correlation. Aiming at the difficulty in capturing the long-term dependence and dynamic spatial correlations among concealed road nodes of in traffic flow, a new Interactive Dynamic forecasting model based on Meta-graph learning (Mega-ID) is proposed, which combines spatial-temporal transformer and interactive dynamic graph convolution (IDGCN) to optimize the Meta-graph module. Specifically, it optimizes a spatial-temporal meta-graph with memory and discrimination capabilities. The model introduces a Dynamic Graph Convolution (DGCN) embedded Interactive Learning structure, which simultaneously captures the hidden dynamic spatial correlations and long-term dependency of traffic flow. The experimental results demonstrate that the method proposed in this paper can capture the hidden dynamic spatial correlation and long-term dependence, leading to better forecasting performance compared to other baseline models.

Construction of Disaster-aware Communities through Local Wisdom and Social Media

The social construction process runs simultaneously. The utilization of local wisdom and social media is the result of the community construction process. Disaster-aware communities can utilize local wisdom and social media to overcome flood disasters. This research aims to analyze the construction of a disaster-aware community in Wonoasri Village, including the use of local wisdom and social media to overcome disasters. This research uses the construction theory of Berger and Luckmann. The research method used was a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Purpose sampling techniques were used to collect research informants. Data collection through observation, interviews, FGD, and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation and data analysis using interactive models. The research results show that the social construction process runs simultaneously. The social construction process of the community starts from community experience, which shapes community knowledge about floods, the formation of Destana, and the transfer of knowledge, to the utilization of local wisdom and social media to overcome floods in Wonoasri Village.

Estimation of Lithium-Ion Battery SOC Based on IFFRLS-IMMUKF

The state of charge (SOC) is a characteristic parameter that indicates the remaining capacity of electric vehicle batteries. It plays a significant role in determining driving range, ensuring operational safety, and extending the service life of battery energy storage systems. Accurate SOC estimation can ensure the safety and reliability of vehicles. To tackle the challenge of precise SOC estimation in complex environments, this study introduces an improved forgetting factor recursive least squares (IFFRLS) method, which integrates the Golden Jackal optimization (GJO) algorithm with the traditional FFRLS method. This integration is grounded in the formulation of a lithium battery state equation derived from a second-order RC equivalent circuit model. Additionally, the research utilizes the interactive multiple model unscented Kalman filter (IMMUKF) algorithm for SOC estimation, with experimental validation conducted under various conditions, including hybrid pulse power characterization (HPPC), urban dynamometer driving schedule (UDDS), and real underwater scenarios. The experimental results demonstrate that the SOC estimation method of lithium batteries based on IFFRLS-IMMUKF exhibits high accuracy and a favorable temperature applicability range.

Tourism Development in Soppeng Regency: Analysis of the Role of the Tourism Office in the Development of Ompo Natural Tourism

This study aims to find out the role of the Tourism Office in Developing Ompo Nature Tourism in Soppeng Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained from the results of this study were processed using interactive model analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the role of the Paratourism Office in Developing Ompo Nature Tourism in Soppeng Regency has not been maximized. This is based on the existence of 3 role indicators, namely Motivator, Facilitator, and Dynamizer. These three indicators cannot be said to have not gone well. The Tourism Office has not carried out its role well as a motivator because of the lack of employee activity in carrying out its duties and functions as well as the lack of encouragement or even pressure that can move employees for how tourism in Soppeng district can progress and develop with the characteristics and uniqueness of different natural tourism. The role of the Tourism Office, which has not carried out its role properly as a facilitator, is seen from the facilities provided is inadequate. The dynamator has not done its role well, judging from the lack of significant development carried out by the Tourism Office to attract tourists to visit the ompo natural tourism.

Maintaining the Quality of Health Services in the New Normal Era: From Visit to Virtual

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has forced hospitals to implement innovative steps to support the Indonesian government's large-scale social restriction program by moving from visits to virtual services via telemedicine. This study aims to analyze and explore the quality of telemedicine-based health services in the new normal era and explore other unique aspects of it. This study uses a qualitative research design with a phenomenological approach focusing on HaloKIH telemedicine services at Kasih Ibu Saba Hospital. Data collection techniques through interviews with data analysis technique used are the interactive model, namely data conduction, data display, and verification. The results showed that the quality of HaloKIH's telemedicine service was considered very good because it had been able to adapt the criteria from the E-ServQual dimension, namely efficiency, fulfillment of needs, reliability, privacy, responsiveness, compensation, and contact. Causal Inference Thinking of Elementary School Teacher Professional Education Program Students in Determining Digital Strategies to Solve Mathematical Problems

This research aims to examine the causal inference thinking of PPG PGSD students in solving mathematical problems. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type. The subjects of this research were four pre-service PPG students from PGSD UM. The instruments for this research include researchers, indicator rubrics, validation sheets, researcher notes, mathematical problems, internet networks, laptops, and handphones. Research subjects as data sources produce data that is analyzed in the form of written answers and recorded interviews. The qualitative data analysis technique used in this research is the interactive model. The results of this research show that fast causal inference thinking is characterized by expressing familiarity with mathematical problem solving, expressing familiarity with accessing digital platforms to solve mathematical problems, accessing digital platforms with keywords, correlating the characteristics of information with specific digital platforms, and Accessing specific digital platforms spontaneously. Slow Causal Inference Thinking is characterized by accessing more than one digital platform to understand a piece of information and read the math problem text repeatedly. The digital platforms that the subjects considered to be a solution were the Google and YouTube platforms.

Dampak Istri Sebagai Pencari Nafkah Utama Terhadap Penerapan Fungsi Keluarga di Kelurahan Cupak Tangah Kota Padang

This study aims to describe the impact of wives as the main breadwinners on the implementation of family functions in Cupak Tangah Village, Padang City. The theory used in this research is structural functionalism proposed by Robert K. Merton. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a descriptive type. Selection of informants in this study is using purposive sampling technique with a total of 24 informants. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection methods are carried out in three events, namely observation, interviews, and document studies. The unit of analysis in this research is the individual. Data analysis used with the interactive analysis model proposed by Milles and Huberman, which consists of (1) data collection (2) data reduction (3) data presentation (4) conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that when the wife is the breadwinner in this family, it will have an impact on family functions, which can be seen in three aspects, namely: (1) the impact on the husband consists of a) economic function: work, income / income. b) affective function: providing affection, emotional bonds (communication). (2) the impact on children consists of a) affective function does not work: less attention given, lack of interaction with children b) educational socialization function: less time to guide learning c) recreational function: joint activities at home, activities outside the home d) educating children to be independent (3) the impact on the wife herself: domestic work becomes neglected, less time to rest.

Diet Impact Assessment model: an interactive tool for analysing the health, environmental and affordability implications of diets

Abstract Global diets, environmental factors, and health require a holistic approach in public health discourse that takes into account the well-being of both humans and planetary health. Modeling tools have demonstrated being useful to estimate priorities and differences between countries and gain insight into future paths that depend on predetermined priorities. Modeling efforts that include environmental goals indicate the possibility of reducing environmental impacts while both improving food quality and overall health outcomes, especially in high-income settings. The aforementioned forecasts highlight the effectiveness of giving priority to dietary recommendations that lead to better, balanced patterns as the most effective approach to reducing mortality risks and environmental implications. The presentation will introduce the Diet Impact Assessment (DIA) model - a new interactive modelling tool for analysing the health, environmental and affordability implications of diets and dietary change. The tool enables countries to analyse user-specific scenarios of dietary change, and to estimate the health, environmental and cost burden of each scenario in terms of diet costs, avoidable deaths, changes in resource use and compatibility with global environmental targets, including those associated with food-related greenhouse gas emissions, land use, water use and fertilizer application. The tool was commissioned by the WHO Regional Office for Europe and is based on analytical frameworks developed by Marco Springmann and colleagues.

Investigation into the Yaw Control of a Twin-Rotor 10 MW Wind Turbine

Multi-rotor system (MRS) wind turbines can provide a competitive alternative to large-scale wind turbines due to their significant advantages in reducing capital, transportation, and operating costs. The main challenges of MRS wind turbines include the complexity of the supporting structure, mathematical modeling of the aerodynamic interaction between the rotors, and the yaw control mechanism. In this work, MATLAB 2018b/Simulink® software was used to model and simulate a twin-rotor wind turbine (TRWT), and an NREL 5 MW wind turbine was used to verify the model outputs. Different random signals of wind velocities and directions were used as inputs to each rotor to generate different thrust loads, inducing twisting moments on the main tower. A yaw controller system was adapted to ensure that the turbine constantly faced the wind to maximize the power output. A DC motor was used as the mechanism’s actuator. The goal was to achieve a compromise between aligning the rotors with the wind direction and reducing the torque induced on the main tower. A comparison between linear and nonlinear controllers was performed to test the yaw system actuator’s response at different wind speeds and directions. Sliding mode control (SMC) was chosen, as it was suitable for the nonlinearity of the system, and its performance showed a faster response compared with the PID controller, with a settling time of 0.17 sec and a very low overshoot. The controller used the transfer function of the motor to generate a sliding surface. The dynamic responses of the controlled angle are shown and discussed. The controller showed promising results, with a suitable response and low chattering signals.

An Exploratory Study of Contextual Control Modes in Teamwork.

This study investigated the relationship between human team member contextual control and team performance under time constraints. Contextual control modes, which describe different strategies for action selection in dynamic environments, characterize how humans maintain performance under variable demands. Control modes have not yet been studied in teamwork settings. Modeling of the cross-level interaction between team members' control modes and emerging team behaviors can improve understanding of effective teamwork in dynamic environments. A human-subjects study explored the relationship between individual contextual control and team performance. Questionnaires about contextual control were used to elicit individual control modes. Analysis compared team members' control modes and investigated how control modes changed under varying time pressures. Participant's control modes differed in their look ahead horizon, the extensiveness of prior action evaluation, and their prior experience. Many team members shifted control modes during trials, resulting in both convergence and divergence of paired control modes. No effects on communication rate were found due to changes in team members' control modes, but partially significant findings may suggest that the control mode divergence affects performance. Teams can operate in multiple control mode configurations that change dynamically according to context. Further research with an increased sample size is warranted to analyze how time constraints influence team members' control modes and overall teaming processes and whether divergence of team control mode is favorable under time pressures. Further study of contextual control in teams may help improve team design to better support teams in coping with time constraints in dynamic environments.

The Role of Government Health Expenditure in Driving Economic Growth: Evidence from OECD Countries

This study examines the influence of government health expenditure and life expectancy on economic growth. The study makes use of panel data analysis and utilizes data from the OECD nations between 2000 and 2021. The study applies panel data analysis using POLS, FEM and REM models and dynamic GMM models. The study also gauges the moderating role of life expectancy on the relationship between government health expenditure and economic growth. The results indicate that government expenditure on health hurts economic growth. A detrimental relationship between life expectancy and economic growth indicates that higher life expectancy could result in elevated healthcare and financial expenses. Nevertheless, the interactive regression model suggests that there is no significant moderation of the association between government expenditure on health and economic growth by life expectancy, implying that the influence of government health expenditure on economic growth is generally unaffected by demographic changes. These findings emphasize the significance of differentiating between the short-term and long-term economic consequences of healthcare expenditure. This study offers insights into the optimization of public spending in OECD nations to promote sustainable economic growth and enhance public health outcomes.

Pre-Disaster Management of Tropical Cyclone Seroja to Realize Disaster Resilient Area in Rote Ndao Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province

The author focuses on the problem of tropical cyclone Seroja which is known to have hit Rote Ndao Regency for the first time and how to deal with it if the disaster occurs again, so good management is needed. The purpose of this research is to find out how BPBD manages activities in dealing with the Seroja tropical cyclone disaster if it occurs again. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques used through observation, interviews and documentation. In accordance with the type of research above, the authors used an interactive model from Miles, Huberman and Saldana (2019) to analyze the research data with 3 steps, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing/verification.The findings obtained by the author in this study are that the management by BPBD in the Seroja tropical cyclone disaster is quite good, however, it still has constraints on funding and manpower which are still lacking. Disaster management in dealing with the Seroja tropical cyclone in Rote Ndao Regency is classified as good, this is because there is good coordination between BPBD and related regional apparatus in overcoming disasters in pre-disaster activities. in order to improve disaster resilient areas, it is advisable to optimize the use of local communities to be ready and alert in the face of disasters.

Evaluation of The Effectiveness of Large-Scale Social Restriction Policies In Handling The Covid-19 Pandemic In West Java, Indonesia

The policy to stop the transmission of the Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic in Indonesia has been established and is a reference for all regions in Indonesia, including West Java. This study aims to find out and describe the effectiveness of the PSBB policy in West Java, which is measured through the World Health Organization (WHO) standard criteria. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques were carried out using the documentation study technique and by conducting a forum group discussion. Data analysis using an interactive model adopted from Miles. The effectiveness of PSBB in West Java in the first period of 14 days has not been reached, thus requiring an additional period of validity to increase the level of success in achieving policy objectives. The epidemiology has been fluctuating on May 25, the Rt number was 1.48 then June 2-12 has shown a better number, which is 0.68. The effectiveness of the PSBB policy in West Java, which is measured through the World Health Organization (WHO) standard criteria has not been reached based on fluctuating epidemiology data, however there has been an increase in the occupancy of health facilities and laboratory testing capacity as part of the health care system.
