Collision rates of small solid particles with rigid spherical and spheroidal bubbles in laminar flow

AbstractThe interaction and impact of solid particles from a dilute suspension with fixed spherical and deformed bubbles (i.e., oblate spheroids) with rigid interface was analysed numerically, a situation found for example in flotation or three-phase chemical reactors. The flow field about the bubbles was computed for laminar flow and the particles were considered as point masses incorporating all forces as there are drag, added mass, fluid inertia, transverse shear-lift, and gravity/buoyancy. Particle sizes were varied up to about 200 µm allowing for a wide range of interaction Stokes numbers. The impact efficiency was evaluated for a wide range of bubble Reynolds numbers and bubbles having different shape and size, as well as eccentricity and orientation. The volume equivalent diameter of the bubbles was between 2 and 4 mm. The bubble deformation was varied up to an eccentricity of 1.8 and the bubble orientation was modified until 45 degrees. The effect of different forces on the impact efficiency was studied in detail. Added mass, fluid inertia (part of the pressure term), and slip-shear transverse lift force cannot be neglected in liquid environments, especially for larger particles. The obtained results were also compared to the composite model of Schulze (1989), well established in the field of flotation. Finally, also the particle impact statistics (i.e., location and velocity) was evaluated.

Characterization of harmful gases and bioaerosols of pig farms: a review of the existing literature

From the ecological and economic point of view, intensive pig farming is drawing more and more attention due to the appearance of harmful substances, which significantly increases the risks of air, water and soil pollution. In addition, the optimal criteria for the content of harmful gases, dust and microorganisms in the environment of pig farms are currently not clearly defined. In order to better understand the interaction of harmful emissions and aerosols, the article reviews data from the literature on their main components, concentrations, and interactions. The results showed that the main pollutants in pig farming are harmful gases (ammonia (NH3), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrogen oxide (N2O), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which are released from manure. The presence of even small concentrations of harmful gases in farm air can cause respiratory and cardiovascular system disorders not only in animals, but also in humans. Along with harmful gases, it is important to control the emission of solid particles and dust from livestock premises, which can form aerosols. Microbial aerosols in pig houses contain bacteria, fungi, viruses, which mainly come from the animals themselves, manure or service personnel. The bioaerosol includes the Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes bacterial divisions and their derivatives. In addition, the content of potentially dangerous bacteria in the bioaerosol can reach up to 40 %. A major concern causes the presence of a large number of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms in the air of these farms (including MRSA). The existing strategies and methods to combat these problems are still imperfect and need to be refined. Currently, the interaction of harmful gases, dust, solid particles and microorganisms is not taken into account, which can increase the toxic effect of each other on the animal's body. Therefore, there is a need for a better understanding of these interactions in order to improve the strategy for improving the microclimate conditions by correcting the microbiota, finding and developing biological preparations that contain natural bacteria capable of neutralizing odors and disinfecting livestock premises.

Detection and quantification of preferential flow using artificial rainfall with multiple experimental approaches

Preferential flow in the unsaturated zone strongly influences important hydrologic processes, such as infiltration, contaminant transport, and aquifer recharge. Because it entails various combinations of physical processes arising from the interactions of water, air, and solid particles in a porous medium, preferential flow is highly complex. Major research is needed to improve the ability to understand, quantify, model, and predict preferential flow. Toward a solution, a combination of diverse experimental measurements at multiple scales, from laboratory scale to mesoscale, has been implemented to detect and quantify preferential paths in carbonate and karstic unsaturated zones. This involves integration of information from (1) core samples, by means of mercury intrusion porosimeter, evaporation, quasi-steady centrifuge and dewpoint potentiometer laboratory methods, to investigate the effect of pore-size distribution on hydraulic characteristics and the potential activation of preferential flow, (2) field plot experiments with artificial sprinkling, to visualize preferential pathways related to secondary porosity, through use of geophysical measurements, and (3) mesoscale evaluation of field data through episodic master recession modeling of episodic recharge. This study demonstrates that preferential flow processes operate from core scale to two different field scales and impact on the qualitative and quantitative groundwater status, by entailing fast flow with subsequent effects on recharge rate and contaminant mobilizing. The presented results represent a rare example of preferential flow detection and numerical modeling by reducing underestimation of the recharge and contamination risks.

Modeling of solidification processes under consideration of particle transport in the melt under terrestrial and microgravity conditions

In this work the interaction of solid particles with the moving water-ice solidification front under terrestrial and microgravity conditions is studied by numerical simulations as well as by experiments. A global, three-dimensional, time-dependent model is used to simulate the solidification processes taking into account buoyant convection and the injection of the particles, their transport through the fluid and their interaction with the moving interface. In basic parameter studies without considering any particle transport and interaction, the thermal conditions of the solidification processes in the module were systematically varied and their influence on the position and shape of the solidification front investigated. It was found that there is only a minor influence on the pure solidification process whether the experiments are carried out under terrestrial or microgravity conditions. Also, the orientation of gravity relative to the solidification direction plays only a minor role. For the simulation of the TEXUS 56 sounding rocket experiment, the injection of the particles, their transport through the fluid and their interaction with the interface were considered in the simulations. The simulation results of the TEXUS 56 experiment agree reasonably to the experimental data. In both cases, a transition from a convex to a concave solidification front is observed. The calculated and measured growth rates are also in the same range and finally it was confirmed by the model that the injection of the particles causes a forced flow, which disturbs the solidification process for a short time period. Once the injection process is stopped, the forced flow decays quickly. The resulting particle distribution is comparable in experiment and simulation and no significant particle movement in the fluid is observed.

Interaction of deformable solid and hollow particles with rough surface morphology in colloidal systems

Hypothesis and backgroundA majority of natural particles have deformable and rough surfaces. Past research indicated a lack of information for a numerical model to simulate the potential non-contact interaction between two deformable particles with uneven surfaces. The simulation of deformable particles is critical to better understanding the interaction of deformable particles in colloidal systems. We hypothesized that numerical models could simulate the deformation process of solid and hollow particles, and the constructed models could predict the impact of deformation on the interaction of rough-surfaced solid or hollow deformable particles. Numerical modelingThis work modeled the deformable solid and hollow particles with rough surface morphologies following a fractal geometry theory. Their non-contact interaction was simulated following the three-stages deformation model. Also, the impacts of surface tension, particle size, and surface roughness on the interaction of the particles were investigated. FindingsIt was observed that the total potential energy of deformable solid and hollow particles followed a similar pattern under different conditions. The difference in the energy profile between solid and hollow particles is that the hollow particles generate a deeper primary minimum, and the energy barrier disappears, indicating that the hollow particles have better attachment affinity. The results show that the increased particle size will strengthen the deformability of deformable solid and hollow particles and their potential interaction, and particle size will be the most influential parameter in affecting the deformability of particles. When the particle size increased from 10 nm to 1000 nm, the deformation region of solid particles was enlarged from 5 nm to 90 nm. Nevertheless, increased surface tension would weaken the deformability of deformable solid and hollow particles, which would significantly reduce particle aggregation. The increase in the fractal dimension would reduce solid and hollow particles' deformability but increase the potential interaction energy. The controversial results could be found by increasing fractal roughness, which would improve the deformability of particles and reduce the interaction energy. The results of this study could be applied for foreseeing the deformation and interaction of deformable particles with potential applications in suspension systems, such as biological cell suspensions.

Effective solution for improving rheological properties of cement paste containing zeolite

Natural zeolite powder is an ideal supplementary cementitious material which can improve the mechanical properties and durability of cement-based materials. However, the porous internal structure and strong water adsorption ability of natural zeolite will inevitably cause fluidity reduction in cementitious system. In the present study, calcination methods are proposed to investigate the rheological property change in cement paste containing zeolite. By XRD analysis, BET test, particle size distribution determination and SEM observation, the chemical and physical changes of natural and calcined zeolite (100 ℃, 500 ℃ and 700 ℃) were explored comprehensively. Afterwards, rheological tests of cement paste incorporated with zeolite were carried out to understand the mechanism of calcined zeolite on its rheological properties. Results indicate than calcination above 500 °C effectively optimizes the pore structure of zeolite and mitigates the negative impact brought by natural zeolite on the rheological properties. Better water release capacity and weaker frictional interaction of solid particle after calcination are responsible for the improvement on the rheological performance of cement pastes containing zeolite.

A coupled discrete element material point method for fluid–solid–particle interactions with large deformations

Fluid–solid–particle systems such as water–soil–rock mixtures are very common in many natural processes and engineering applications. However, modelling these complex interactions is still very challenging due to their multi-scale nature. Here, we present a hybrid model that combines the advantages of the two-phase (solid and liquid) Material Point Method (MPM) on handling continuum materials with large deformations and the capability of the Discrete Element Method (DEM) on simulating the mechanical behaviours of rigid particles. Moreover, in our model, the DEM has the ability to deal with non-spherical particles. A new collision detection approach is presented in detail, and a unified DEM style contact force model is proposed to couple MPM with DEM by considering momentum exchanges between particles and continuum phases. The proposed model is validated by several numerical benchmarks, including (1) flows around a cylinder, (2) a block sliding on an inclined plane, (3) projectile impacts a granular medium, and (4) sphere impacts and penetrates into wet granular material. The results match well with analytical solutions and experimental observations, demonstrating this model’s capability to efficiently solve complex fluid–solid–particle interactions with large deformations. Finally, an example of column collapse is simulated to show future potential applications of the proposed method.

Two-phase experimental and numerical studies on scouring at the toe of vertical seawall

This paper presents experimental and numerical modeling of scouring erosion at the toe due to wave impact on a highly reflective vertical seawall. For the experimental study, new experiments and analyses are provided in the light of advanced measurement techniques. They show the complex nature of the triple wave–structure–sediment interactions with their non-linearities, asymmetries, and hysteresis. For the numerical study, a two-dimensional x/z two-phase Eulerian model is introduced using a new fluid–solid particle interaction. The numerical model is also based on a projection technique, σ-transformation, and a second-order hybrid finite-difference and finite-volume method. A good agreement is obtained between the numerical and experimental results. Both models show that the wave run-up or down on vertical wall conducts to the formation of ascending or impinging vertical jets, which leads to the seawall scour.

Solid Particle Simulation with a New Particle Interaction

A particle method is a state-of-the-art method in computational fluid dynamics. The specialty of the particle method is tracking each particle that carries its own physical quantities, such as velocity, pressure, and position. Therefore, the large deformation of a free surface can be simulated. In this paper, the concept of the fully Lagrangian approach is extended in its applicability to the solid particle with new particle interaction models, which are the friction and drag models. The newly developed particle method with the new particle interaction models simulated mobile sea-bed behavior under very violent waves due to the broken dam problem. The numerical results were compared to corresponding experimental results for validation. The validated particle method demonstrated the mobile sea-bed behavior with various densities of soil particles. Furthermore, solid-particle interaction model results were also compared with those of fluid models to show the difference and to prove the implementation.

Soil dumping is one of most important problems on the coastal and ocean construction project. In general, the computational fluid dynamics method used grid system to simulate soil particle under flow with concentration. It can be useful for fast calculation; however, it is restricted to demonstrate its movement. The Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) method follows fully Lagrangian approach, thus it can simulate soil particle behavior due to tracking each particle. In this study, the newly developed MPS method modified for solid particle was used to simulate soil dumping. For the solid particle interaction, drag force and friction force term were implemented instead of viscosity term in the governing equation. The friction force is due to friction between solid particles, and the drag force can be calculated by relative velocity around center particle within effective range. All the solid particle interaction models were validated by corresponding physical phenomena. The numerical results were compared to the corresponding experimental results and they show good agreement in the tendency of behavior.

A Critical Review of Physical Models in High Temperature Multiphase Fluid Dynamics: Turbulent Transport and Particle-Wall Interactions

Abstract This review article examines the last decade of studies investigating solid, molten, and liquid particle interactions with one another and with walls in heterogeneous multiphase flows. Such flows are experienced in state-of-the-art and future-concept gas turbine engines, where particles from the environment, including volcanic ash, runway debris, dust clouds, and sand, are transported by a fluid carrier phase and undergo high-speed collisions with high-temperature engine components. Sand or volcanic ash ingestion in gas turbine engines is known to lead to power-loss and/or complete engine failure. The particle-wall interactions that occur in high-temperature sections of an engine involve physics and intrinsic conditions that are sufficiently complex that they result in highly disparate and transient outcomes. These particles, which often times are made up of glassy constituents called calcium–magnesium–alumino–silicate (CMAS), are susceptible to phase change at combustor temperatures (1650°), and can deposit on surfaces, undergo elastic and plastic deformation, rebound, and undergo breakup. Considerable research has been put into developing empirical and physics-based models and numerical strategies to address phase interactions. This article provides a detailed account of the conceptual foundation of physics-based models employed to understand the behavior of particle-wall interaction, the evolution of numerical methods utilized for modeling these interactions, and challenges associated with improving models of particle-particle and particle-wall interactions needed to better characterize multiphase flows. It also includes description of a testbed for acquiring canonical data for model validation studies.

Virtual Experiments of Particle Mixing Process with the SPH-DEM Model.

Particle mixing process is critical for the design and quality control of concrete and composite production. This paper develops an algorithm to simulate the high-shear mixing process of a granular flow containing a high proportion of solid particles mixed in a liquid. DEM is employed to simulate solid particle interactions; whereas SPH is implemented to simulate the liquid particles. The two-way coupling force between SPH and DEM particles is used to evaluate the solid-liquid interaction of a multi-phase flow. Using Darcy’s Law, this paper evaluates the coupling force as a function of local mixture porosity. After the model is verified by two benchmark case studies, i.e., a solid particle moving in a liquid and fluid flowing through a porous medium, this method is applied to a high shear mixing problem of two types of solid particles mixed in a viscous liquid by a four-bladed mixer. A homogeneity metric is introduced to characterize the mixing quality of the particulate mixture. The virtual experiments with the present algorithm show that adding more liquid or increasing liquid viscosity slows down the mixing process for a high solid load mix. Although the solid particles can be mixed well eventually, the liquid distribution is not homogeneous, especially when the viscosity of liquid is low. The present SPH-DEM model is versatile and suitable for virtual experiments of particle mixing process with different blades, solid particle densities and sizes, and liquid binders, and thus can expedite the design and development of concrete materials and particulate composites.

Sharp-Interface Immersed-Boundary Method for Compressible Flows with Shock–Particle Interaction

A sharp-interface immersed-boundary method that does not smear the boundaries, is easy to implement, and is straightforward in handling the Neumann condition as compared to previous methods is developed for compressible flows to simulate the interaction of solid particles with shocks. The inviscid and viscous fluxes of compressible flow equations in curvilinear coordinates are discretized with a third-order weighted essentially nonoscillatory (WENO) scheme and a central scheme, respectively. The equations are advanced in time using a third-order Runge–Kutta method. The sharp interface at the immersed boundaries is maintained by reconstructing the flow variables along the normal direction to the boundary. The WENO discretization is reverted to a biased essentially nonoscillatory scheme near the immersed boundaries to avoid using the nodes that are inside the immersed boundary. The method is validated against experimental measurements and shown to be between second- and third-order-accurate in the presence of immersed boundaries. The method is applied to simulate shock-tube experiments involving the interaction of a moving normal shock with a stationary cylinder as well as a cylindrical and a spherical particle accelerating by a shock. The numerical results capture all of the shock features observed in the experiments and show great agreement with the measurements and previous benchmark solutions. The results show that the acceleration of a sphere due to an incident shock highly depends on the density ratio of the sphere to the incoming fluid.

Structural features of composites of the (Al – xSi) – 40Sn system prepared by liquid-phase sintering of mixtures of tin powder of PO 2 grade with powders of Al – Si alloys of hypoeutectic, eutectic, and hypereutectic composition were studied in this work. Samples were cut from the prepared materials for compression test and dry friction test against steel according to the “pin-on-disk” scheme. It was established that the main structural elements of the sintered composites are determined by the nature of interaction of solid silumin particles and liquid tin. This is due to the fact that tin not only spreads over the volume of the sintered compact, but also activates the processes of recrystallization of aluminum powders due to dissolution of their atoms in the liquid phase with subsequent deposition on the large particles surface. The dissolution weakens the skeleton of aluminum powders, and they are able to regroup into a denser configuration under the action of capillary forces. It was found that silicon inhibits the shrinkage of the compacts during the liquid-phase sintering. Therefore, to improve the mechanical properties of the sintered composites, they should be subjected to additional densification in order to eliminate their residual porosity, which simultaneously contributes to a significant increase in their wear resistance under dry friction. The study of the wear features of the (Al – хSi) – 40Sn composites was carried out. It was found that silicon particles located in the tin interlayers hinder the relative shear of the neighboring matrix grains and increase the thickness of the surface layer involved in deformation by friction forces. This fact has a favorable effect on the wear resistance of the investigated sintered composites under dry friction process. The (Al – 12Si) – 40Sn composite sample with the eutectic matrix has the highest wear resistance.

Viscosity of Slag Suspensions with a Polar Liquid Matrix

Under the operating temperatures employed in steelmaking, most slags and fluxes often contain solids, such as undissolved CaO and its reaction products; thus, they are more viscous than their fully liquid states. However, few studies have considered the dielectric interactions of solid particles with the liquid matrix in such systems. In the present study, the viscosity of suspensions of dispersed particles consisting of polyethylene beads in a matrix of silicone oil or aqueous glycerol at room temperature was measured. Then, empirical models for estimating the viscosity based on the Einstein–Roscoe equation were proposed. Furthermore, the viscosity of suspensions of CaO and MgO particles dispersed in a matrix of CaO–Al2O3–SiO2–MgO slag at 1773 K was measured, and the feasibility of the proposed viscosity equations was investigated. As expected, the viscosities of the suspensions of polyethylene beads dispersed in silicone oil and glycerol increased with an increasing bead volume fraction. Under comparable measurement conditions, the viscosities of the glycerol suspensions were higher than those of the silicone oil suspensions. The proposed viscosity models based on the Einstein–Roscoe equation and the capillary number reproduced the viscosity of the silicone oil suspensions but underestimated that of the glycerol suspensions. The trend of increasing viscosity of the molten slag suspensions with dispersed CaO and MgO particles was similar to that of the room-temperature suspensions, exhibiting Bingham non-Newtonian behavior. The viscosity model composed with the results from the glycerol aqueous suspensions underestimated the slag viscosity, which can be attributed to the repulsive forces in the high-polarity liquid matrix.

A dissipative particle dynamics and discrete element method coupled model for particle interactions in sedimentation toward the fabrication of a functionally graded material

A new particle-based simulation model to tackle the problem of micrometer scale particle motion in sedimentation at low to high concentration is presented. In this model, the solid particle interactions are described by discrete element method (DEM), while the liquid part are simulated by a mesoscale fluid simulation method dissipative particle dynamics (DPD). The coupling part are modified DPD potential with tuned parameters to ensure the correct hydrodynamic interaction between solid and liquid particles. Experiments are further conducted to compare the simulation phenomenon. The well agreement verifies the presented coupling is an effective model for this scenario. Some new results for sedimentation of different initial conditions, such as liquid volume, and particle size are then presented. This new model can be a powerful tool to simulate micrometer particles sedimentation process, which is important in material design and quality control of sedimentation based FGM manufacture.

ПРОЦЕССЫ ТРАНСПОРТА ШЛАМА ПРИ ОЧИСТКЕ СКВАЖИН С ПРОИЗВОЛЬНОЙ ОРИЕНТАЦИЕЙ БУРОВЫХ ТРУБ, СОДЕРЖАЩИХ ЭКСЦЕНТРИЧНО РАСПОЛОЖЕННОЕ КРУГЛОЕ ЯДРО С ПОДВИЖНОЙ СТЕНКОЙ: ПРОБЛЕМЫ, РЕЗУЛЬТАТЫ, ПЕРСПЕКТИВЫ (ОБЗОР)

Актуальность работы вызвана необходимостью современной оценки решения проблем: моделирования течений смеси вязкой жидкости с твердыми частицами и взаимодействия ее со стенками устройств, предназначенных для бурения; очистки скважин с произвольной ориентацией буровых труб с эксцентрично расположенным вращающимся ядром. Цель: уяснение методов управления процессами транспорта шлама из скважин с участками вертикально-горизонтального сочленения в рамках комплексных численных и экспериментальных исследований; выдача рекомендаций в практику процессов очистки. Методы. Теоретические и практические методы исследований из смежных областей гидродинамики и тепломассопереноса реологически сложных вязких сред при решении задач о влиянии режимов течения, вращения стенок эксцентричного ядра на расположение и поведение частиц дисперсного потока, а также правомерность идеализаций явлений в смесях; методы исследований процессов, характеризующих перемещение частиц сквозь жидкость совместно, в общей массе, как это происходит при осаждении, а также в режимах: неподвижности частиц, соответствующих плотно упакованному слою; относительного движения частиц и жидкости, осложненного турбулентностью; движения частиц относительно друг друга при сложном сдвиговом течении несущей среды. Результаты. Представлен обзор результатов исследований процессов в скважинах и бурильных колоннах. Проанализированы достоинства отдельных критериальных связей поведения шлама. Уясняется правомерность допущений, возможностей ряда моделей турбулентности и их замыкающих связей в определении структуры, теплогидродинамических и диффузионных свойств смеси, условий и механизмов образования, накопления, осаждения, транспорта и отделения частиц шлама от жидкости, в которой они взвешены. Отмечается, что в приложениях очень популярны исследования транспорта шлама в полях действия центробежных, массовых сил (гравитации, вращения), вызывающих изменение плотности частиц в режимах сальтации, включающих серии отрывов/присоединений частиц, чередующихся с ударами о стенку трубного ядра. Наблюдения процесса взаимодействия твердых и жидких частиц бесконтактными средствами регистрации могут служить информацией для валидации и верификации современных RSS-моделей турбулентности (Reynolds Shear Stresses) с опорной базой из kL/kɛ-уравнений для кинетической энергии турбулентности (k) и ее интегрального масштаба (L)/скорости диссипации (ɛ). Они корректно предсказывают изменения в анизотропной неоднородной структуре сложного турбулентного течения смеси частиц шлама и жидкости. Отмечены достоинства разработок универсального алгоритма очистки скважин с выдачей сведений о: формировании шлама в произвольной точке затрубного пространства; получении минимальной скорости, обеспечивающей его образование и удаление. Сформулированы направления перспективных исследований; даны рекомендации по эффективной очистке отверстий.

An SPH Approach for Non-Spherical Particles Immersed in Newtonian Fluids.

Solid particles immersed in a fluid can be found in many engineering, environmental or medical fields. Applications are suspensions, sedimentation processes or procedural processes in the production of medication, food or construction materials. While homogenized behavior of these applications is well understood, contributions in the field of pore-scale fully resolved numerical simulations with non-spherical particles are rare. Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) as a simulation framework, we therefore present a modeling approach for Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS) of single-phase fluid containing non-spherically formed solid aggregates. Notable and discussed model specifications are the surface-coupled fluid–solid interaction forces as well as the contact forces between solid aggregates. The focus of this contribution is the numerical modeling approach and its implementation in SPH. Since SPH presents a fully resolved approach, the construction of arbitrary shaped particles is conveniently realizable. After validating our model for single non-spherical particles, we therefore investigate the motion of solid bodies in a Newtonian fluid and their interaction with the surrounding fluid and with other solid bodies by analyzing velocity fields of shear flow with respect to hydromechanical and contact forces. Results show a dependency of the motion and interaction of solid particles on their form and orientation. While spherical particles move to the centerline region, ellipsoidal particles move and rotate due to vortex formation in the fluid flow in between.

Particle dynamics at fluid interfaces studied by the color gradient lattice Boltzmann method coupled with the smoothed profile method.

We suggest a numerical method to describe particle dynamics at the fluid interface. We adopt a coupling strategy by combining the color gradient lattice Boltzmann method (CGLBM) and smoothed profile method (SPM). The proposed scheme correctly resolves the momentum transfer among the solid particles and fluid phases while effectively controlling the wetting condition. To validate the present algorithm (CGLBM-SPM), we perform several simulation tests like wetting a single solid particle and capillary interactions in two solid particles floating at the fluid interface. Simulation results show a good agreement with the analytical solutions available and look qualitatively reasonable. From these analyses, we conclude that the key features of the particle dynamics at the fluid interface are correctly resolved in our simulation method. In addition, we apply the present method for spinodal decomposition of a ternary mixture, which contains two-immiscible fluids with solid particles. By adding solid particles, fluid segregation is much suppressed than in the binary liquid mixture case. Furthermore, it has different morphology, such as with the jamming structure of the particles at the fluid interface, and captured images are similar to bicontinuous interfacially jammed emulsion gels in literature. From these results, we confirm the feasibility of the present method to describe soft matters; in particular, emulsion systems that contain solid particles at the interface.
