Status of Anthracnose Disease Caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum in Major Mungbean Growing Area of Rajasthan, India

Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum is one of the most important diseases in the mungbean. A roving survey to assess the intensity of anthrcnose of mungbean was carried out at 60 locations comprising five districts of Rajasthan state during the Kharif season of 2022-23. The most extreme disease frequency was seen in plants at the flowering and podding stages. The overall mean disease intensity was observed to be 22.60%. Among the five districts, the lowest anthracnose intensity was noticed in Sikar (17.88%) followed by Nagaur (18.90%), while the highest anthracnose intensity was recorded in Jaipur district (28.93%) followed by Ajmer (24.64%) and Tonk (22.65%).

Potential Antagonists Trichoderma viride as Biofungicide, Plant Spacing, and Agricultural Lime Application to Suppress Anthracnose on Chili

Anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum capsici and C. gloesporium on chili is a disease that can reduce chili yields up to 80%. Control with fungicide has not been able to provide maximum results, because Colletotrichum can spread due to splashing of water, especially in the rainy season. The use of antagonistic fungi against Colletotrichum spp. has been widely published but is still limited to the laboratory and greenhouse scale, while field conditions are unpredictable. This study aims to identify the potency of Trichoderma viride that can be used as a biofungicide to control anthracnose in chili and to determine aspects of agronomic that can reduce the risk of anthracnose in chili. Samples of infected plants of stems, leaves, and fruits were collected from experimental farm of Bogor Agricultural Development Polytechnic. The experiment was conducted using Randomized Complete Design and Randomized Complete Block Design. The percentage of disease intensity of the fungus C capsici and the intensity of anthracnose in chili both under screen house and open fields. While testing the effect of cultivation aspects using different types of fertilizer on plant height, fruit weight, number of fruits, and the percentage of disease intensity of Colletotrichum spp. were analyzed. The results of this study shown that four isolates of fungi have been identified such as Penicillium sp., Aspergillus flavus, T. viride, and C. capsici. In vitro analysis shown the ability of T. viride to suppress the growth of the C. capsici up to 71%. The fungus T. viride with a density of 7×106 CFU/mL can suppress the development of anthracnose by 59 to 87% under screen house conditions. However, under field conditions, the fungus T. viride was not able to suppress the development of anthracnose. Agronomic aspects such as plant height, number of fruits and production, and productivity of chili were not significantly effect on anthracnose.

Status of postharvest papaya anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) in Assosa Zone, Western Ethiopia

Papaya is among the most economically important fruit crops cultivated in Ethiopia supporting the livelihood of thousands of people. Anthracnose of papaya caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides is the major limitation that threatens the production and consumption of papaya fruit worldwide. This investigation was initiated to determine the current status of papaya anthracnose and identify factors influencing postharvest loss of papaya fruit in Assosa Zone, western Ethiopia. Field and market assessments were conducted in three major papaya-producing districts of Assosa Zone namely Assosa, Bambasi, and Homosha. Data on the disease intensity of anthracnose was recorded both in the field and in the market. Furthermore, factors associated with postharvest disease development were recorded through administration of a pretested semi-structured questionnaire to randomly selected papaya producers, wholesalers, and retailers. The results revealed that anthracnose of papaya was prevalent in all assessed localities, nevertheless, there was a significant (p < 0.05) difference between districts and peasant association in intensity of disease. At the orchard level, the disease incidence and severity ranged between 21.30–33.87% and 10.90–20.83%, respectively. Similarly, postharvest anthracnose incidence and severity ranged between 47.04–60.85% and 28.84–47.95%, respectively. Morphological and pathological identification of pure cultures from symptomatic fruits revealed that C. gloeosporioides was the causal agent of postharvest anthracnose of papaya in the Assosa Zone. Moreover, poor postharvest practices such as wrong methods of harvesting, improper handling of produce, and poor or improper transportation facilities are some factors that significantly influence postharvest disease development. This empirical evidence revealed that anthracnose is the major challenge to papaya production and utilization in Assosa, Western Ethiopia.

Antifungal evaluation of turmeric rhizome extract against Colletotrichum capsici, the causal agent of anthracnose on red-chili peppers (Capsicum annum L.)

This study was conducted to evaluate the antifungal activity of the ethanolic extract of turmeric rhizome against Colletotrichum capsici Syd. and its efficacy in reducing anthracnose disease development on red chili peppers. The in vitro experiment aimed to determine the effect of the extract on inhibiting C. capsici growth in potato sucrose agar (PSA) medium incorporating the turmeric rhizome extract. The variables examined were mycelial growth, fungal sporulation, and spore germination. The in vivo experiment aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the extract in reducing disease development on red chili peppers. The treatments were conducted using a completely randomized design with five concentration treatments and three replicates. The variables examined were radial mycelial growth zone diameter, fungal sporulation, spore germination, and disease intensity. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance, and the least significant difference was used for comparing means between treatments. The results of these experiments showed that ethanolic turmeric rhizome extract exhibited antifungal activity against C. capsici both in vitro and in vivo conditions. Turmeric rhizome extracts with concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4% significantly inhibited mycelial growth, and even at a 4% concentration, C. capsici fungal colonies did not grow. Evaluation of the effect of the extract on fungal sporulation showed that inhibition occurred at a concentration of 3%, while inhibition of spore germination occurred at concentrations of 1%, 2%, and 3%. Application of turmeric extract at concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4% effectively reduced the intensity of anthracnose on red chili.

Anthracnose intensity and per cent pod infection of cowpea in Beed district

The importance of pulses has been realized due to their high protein, better nutritional food, and fodder and soil enrichment qualities. Pulses have been considered as an integral part of our diet from time immemorial and have also found their reference in ancient scriptures such as Puranas and Mahabharata. The major fungal diseases of cowpea anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum destructivum. In this study all the botanicals, bioagents and fungicides tested against anthracnose disease of cowpea during Kharif 2013 and Kharif 2014 were found effective and significantly reduced the mean disease intensity and pod infection over unsprayed control. Anthracnose intensity and pod infection slightly increases in Kharif 2014 as compared to Kharif 2013.

The effect of biopesticide and combined fertilization in promoting plant health and growth of tomato cultivated on peat soil in West Kalimantan

The demand for horticultural products that are cultivated organically has increased. However, the susceptibility of plants to pests and diseases becomes an obstacle in organic crop cultivation. The use of biopesticides can be a solution to overcome these problems with the added benefit due to its environmental friendly and sustainable aspect. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of biopesticides and combined fertilization in promoting plant health and enhancing tomato growth on the peat soil. This study used a randomized complete block design with two factors and three replications. The first factors were four combined fertilizations (K), namely: K1: 100% organic fertilizer+local microorganisms; K2: 75% inorganic fertilizer+Petrobio, K3: 75% inorganic fertilizer+M-Dec, and K4: 100% inorganic fertilizer. The second factors were three types of pesticides (S), namely: S1: homemade biopesticides, S2: industrial biopesticides containing active ingredient Eugenol 188,4 g L-1, and S3: chemical pesticides containing active ingredient fipronil 50 g L-1. The observed data were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and further tests were carried out using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the tuba roots and betel leaves used in biopesticides had different effects on controlling fruit flies and leafminer caterpillars, as well as anthracnose disease. The application of chemical pesticides influenced the lowest infestation of fruit flies and leafminer caterpillars, while homemade and industrial biopesticides, as well as chemical pesticides had the same effect in reducing the intensity of anthracnose. In conclusion, a combination of 100% inorganic fertilizer+industrial biopesticides and 75% inorganic fertilizer+Petrobio gave greater tomato yields. Biopesticides could sustain organic crop cultivation in peatlands considering the ingredients availability, affordable, and easy application.

Response of ‘Prata anã’ banana to post-harvest phosphite application

Abstract The objective of the present study was to determine the best phosphite source and concentration to control anthracnose and its effects on the physical and chemical characteristics of ‘Prata-anã’ banana. Bouquets of banana fruits were immersed in solutions containing different formulations of copper phosphite FCu1 (4% Cu + 20% P2O5), FCu2 (4% Cu + 22% P2O5) at concentrations of 0.5; 1.0, 1.5- and 2.0-mL L-1 and potassium phosphite FK (42% P2O5 + 27.7% K2O) at concentrations of 0.5; 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mg L-1. Controls consisted of the application of pure water and Imazalil application (0.5 mL. L-1). Subsequently, anthracnose incidence and severity were evaluated every three days. The physical and chemical characteristics of fruits were evaluated at the end of the anthracnose intensity evaluation. The experimental design used was completely randomized. The results showed that the different phosphite sources FCu1, FCu2 and FK at the concentrations tested were not effective in controlling anthracnose. The physical and chemical characteristics of fruits were influenced by the different phosphite sources and concentrations applied. Fresh fruit mass loss is proportional to the applied phosphite concentration.

Colletotrichum species causing cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) anthracnose in different eco-zones within the Recôncavo Region of Bahia, Brazil.

A survey to investigate the occurrence of cassava anthracnose disease (CAD) and distribution of Colletotrichum spp. in cassava plantations in different eco-zones of the Reconcavo Region in Bahia, Brazil, investigated during the rainy season of 2014. A total of 50 cassava fields distributed among 18 municipalities were visited and intensity of anthracnose evaluated. The highest disease incidence (DI) (83.3%) was in samples collected in São Félix, and the lowest (34.4%), in Varzedo. Municipalities that presented the highest values for DI were located within the ‘Af’ Köppen–Geiger eco-zone, also presenting the highest values for the estimated McKinney disease index. Based on previous studies of multilocus phylogeny, seven different species of Colletotrichum were identified (Colletotrichum fructicola, Colletotrichum tropicale, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides s.s, Colletotrichum theobromicola, Colletotrichum siamense, Colletotrichum brevisporum and Colletotrichum plurivorum) and a new approach based on ERIC-PCR was used aiming to group the 82 isolates according to these findings. The highest percentage of genetic variance (> 78%) was among isolates within fields. Based on the survey and genetic analysis, C. fructicola is probably the main causal agent of cassava anthracnose in the Recôncavo Region, since this species was present with highest incidence in all eco-zones, 47.61, 42.86 and 57.14% for Af (tropical rainforest climate), As (tropical dry savanna climate) and Aw (tropical wet savanna climate), respectively. This study is the first report of C. fructicola lineages as the most likely pathogen causing anthracnose disease of cassava in Brazil, and these findings may be used to guide the selection of resistant varieties.

Anthracnose Disease on Vegetables Crops in Serang Village, District of Karangreja, Purbalingga Regency

Various vegetables are widely cultivated in Serang Village, District of Karangreja, Purbalingga Regency. This village is located at 1350 above sea level. Vegetable productions in Serang are often constrained by the presence of diseases caused by pathogenic fungi Colletotrichum sp. called anthracnose. However, there was no data regarding anthracnose attack in vegetable crops in Serang. This study aimed to find out the types of vegetable that were attacked by anthracnose disease as well as the intensity of the attack in a vegetable crops in Serang Village, Karangreja District, Purbalingga Regency. Vegetables with anthracnose were purposively selected from 10 different locations. The anthracnose disease was identified based on their symptoms and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that five different vegetable crops suffer from anthracnose, and the intensity of anthracnose ranges from 32% up to 52%. Those intensity percentages indicate that large part of vegetable crops in Serang Village was attacked by anthracnose and possibly cause a significant decrease in vegetable production in that village. Our results provide the first scientific data about anthracnose attack in Serang Village. The data is essential for the management of vegetable crops in Serang Village.

Anthracnose control of ‘Prata-Ana’ banana with pre-harvest phosphite application

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the anthracnose intensity in ‘Prata-Anã’ banana with the application of three phosphite formulations in two application intervals in the developing banana bunches and to evaluate the physical and chemical characteristics of fruits. In the field, in addition to producer management, three phosphite formulations were evaluated: FCu1 (4% Cu + 20% P2O5), FCu2 (4% Cu + 22% P2O5) and FK (42% P2O5 + 27.7% K2O) sprayed on banana bunches at different application frequencies: four and eight times. The experiment was carried out in a randomized blocks design following a 5 x 2 factorial scheme, with 3 phosphite formulations, pure water and no application and two application intervals. Pure water and no application were used as control. Fruits were harvested, stored in refrigeration chamber (25 ± 1 ° C and 80 ± 5% RH) and evaluated for anthracnose incidence and severity, as well as physical and chemical characteristics. The application of copper phosphite can control anthracnose incidence by 38% and severity by 49.5%. The frequency of phosphite application does not affect anthracnose intensity. FCu1 phosphite application in ‘Prata-Anã’ banana bunches, as well as eight phosphite applications increases fresh mass loss. Phosphite application frequency affected the chemical characteristics of banana fruits.

Spatial distribution and association of factors influencing sorghum anthracnose (Colletotrichum sublineolum) epidemics in Eastern Ethiopia

Sorghum is an important stable food crop in Ethiopia. However, production of the crop is adversely affected by biotic and abiotic constraints among which sorghum anthracnose (Colletotrichum sublineolum) is the major one. A field survey was conducted to determine the distribution and association of sorghum anthracnose with biophysical factors in eastern Ethiopia. A total of 125 fields were assessed in five districts and results revealed that all the surveyed fields were infected with anthracnose. However, significant variations observed in anthracnose intensity across the surveyed districts. Logistic regression was used to analyse the association of sorghum anthracnose with independent variables. High (≥ 60%) disease severity was highly associated with districts Girawa, Tullo and Haramaya, sole cropping system, early sowing date and continuous growing of sorghum. Lower anthracnose severity had a high probability of association with Babile district, residue removal, flowering growth stage, weed control, and rotation of different crops in the field. High distribution of sorghum anthracnose in the study areas requires effective and feasible management options to be developed.

Anthracnose intensity and physical and chemical characteristics of ‘Prata anã’ banana under different nitrogen doses

Abstract The balanced supply of nitrogen to fruit trees leads to higher fruit quality and reduced incidence of diseases. The aim of this study was to evaluate anthracnose intensity and the physical and chemical characteristics of ‘Prata Anã’ banana under different nitrogen doses. Regarding anthracnose intensity, N doses of 150, 200, 250, 400 and 600 kg ha-1 were used. The Area Under the Incidence Progress (AUIPC) and Severity Curves (AUSPC) were evaluated. The physical and chemical characteristics were: fruit and pulp mass; soluble solids; starch; total, reducing and non-reducing sugars; coloration and nutrient concentration in peel, evaluated every three days for 15 days. Plants fertilized with N doses of 200, 250 and 400 kg.ha-1 had lower AUIPC values and the application of 250 kg.ha-1 reduced AUSPC in fruits inoculated with C. musae. N, P and K increased in banana peel, fruit and pulp mass, soluble solids, starch, total sugars, reducing sugars, with increasing N doses. There was no difference in the contents of micronutrients in fruit peel. N dose of 600 kg.ha-1 reduced the shelf life of fruits and provided higher sugar content and higher disease severity.

Essential Oils in the Control of Anthracnose on ‘Prata Ana’ Banana

Alternative forms of disease control in fruits have been researched in an attempt to minimize the negative effects of chemical control on men and environment. The aim of this study was to determine the best concentration of essential oils to control the development of Colletotrichum musae and anthracnose intensity in ‘Prata Anã’ banana. In order to inhibit germination, mycelial growth and sporulation, four essential oils of clove (Eugenia caryophyllus), tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), thyme (Thymus vulgaris) and ginger (Zingiber officinale) species were used at concentrations of 2, 4, 6 and 8 μL. In fruits, the same essential oils were applied at concentrations of 80, 160, 240 and 320 μL to evaluate the incidence and severity of anthracnose. Clove and thyme oils were the most efficient in inhibiting mycelial growth, germination and sporulation at all concentrations tested. The volatile compounds present in clove and thyme oils provide complete inhibition of fungal growth. Tea tree and ginger oils have the ability to suppress anthracnose in ‘Prata Anã’ banana. Concentrations of 160 μL of ginger oil, 160 and 240 μL of tea tree oil reduced the anthracnose severity in fruits. Ginger and tea tree essential oils have the potential to control banana anthracnose, reducing the anthracnose incidence in fruits by 48% and 24%, respectively.

Intensity of Anthracnose in resistant varieties (PIWI) in the high altitude regions of southern Brazil

The objective of this study was to evaluate the different degrees of tolerance to Anthracnose infection in three PIWI varieties (Cabernet Cortis, Regent and Bronner) compared to the Cabenert Sauvignon variety. The experiment was conducted at EPAGRI Experimental Station, located in the city of Sao Joaquim, Santa Catarina State (28°17′39″ S; 49°55′56″ W, altitude 1,415 m a.s.l.), during 2016/2017 growing season. The evaluation of the disease was performed every 15 days, applying a scale of notes, from the onset of symptoms, and lasted for a period of two months, under the condition of infection Natural. The intensity of the disease was compared by epidemiological measures: time to reach maximum disease severity (TRMDS), maximum disease severity (Smax), and area under the severity disease progress curve (AUDSPC). Maturity indices of the varieties were obtained from juice physical-chemical analysis at the harvest. Although the PIWI varieties were resistant to mildew, they were susceptible to anthracnose. Bronner and Cabernet Cortis showed on average the same intensity of disease in the leaves and branches as the Cabernet Sauvignon variety, the Regent variety showed greater susceptibility to the pathogen, differing statistically from the other varieties evaluated.

PROGRESSO TEMPORAL E CONTROLE DA ANTRACNOSE EM BANANA NO SEMIÁRIDO NORTE MINEIRO

RESUMO A antracnose é uma das principais doenças pós-colheita em bananas. O trabalho teve como objetivos avaliar, durante dez meses, a intensidade da antracnose e o efeito da lavagem e sanitização das frutas no controle da doença em pós-colheita de bananas. O experimento foi realizado de setembro de 2013 a junho de 2014. As coletas dos frutos foram realizadas, mensalmente, em cinco propriedades comerciais localizadas nos municípios de Jaíba, Janaúba e Nova Porteirinha, cultivadas com banana ‘Prata-Anã’. As pencas foram subdivididas em buquês de três frutos, o delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado em esquema fatorial e submetidos aos tratamentos: frutos sem a realização da lavagem (testemunha); frutos lavados na propriedade; frutos lavados no laboratório com hipoclorito de sódio a 2%; frutos lavados no laboratório com hipoclorito de sódio a 2% seguido de aplicação com fungicida Imazalil. As avaliações foram realizadas em 10 épocas e os tratamentos repetidos cinco vezes. Calculou-se área abaixo da curva de progresso da intensidade (AACPI) e área abaixo da curva de progresso da severidade (AACPS). Os resultados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de variância e as médias comparadas através do teste de Scott-Knott, a 5% de probabilidade. A maior intensidade de antracnose em bananas no Norte de Minas ocorre nos meses de novembro de 2013 a março de 2014. A menor intensidade ocorre nos meses de setembro e outubro de 2013 e abril a junho de 2014. Nos meses de novembro a março, época de maior intensidade de doença, a lavagem dos frutos com detergente neutro e hipoclorito de sódio a 2% seguida de aplicação do fungicida Imazalil é a técnica mais eficiente de controle. A lavagem dos frutos, apenas com detergente neutro pode favorecer o aparecimento de antracnose, pela degradação da cutícula.

Efficacy of curative applications of submicron chitosan dispersions on anthracnose intensity and vegetative growth of dragon fruit plants

The antifungal potential of submicron chitosan dispersions (SCD) and its effect on the vegetative growth of dragon fruit plants were studied under field conditions. There was a reduction in disease incidence (15.65%) with a severity score of 1.60 in plants treated with SCD of 600 nm droplet size of 1.0% chitosan compared to the control plants. Moreover, a significant increase was also observed among the treatments in terms of number of shoots per cutting, stem diameter and shoot length. However, the highest number of shoots (19), maximum stem diameter (0.23 m) and maximum stem length (2.80 m) were observed in plants treated with SCD of 600 nm droplet size of 1.0% chitosan. Similarly, chlorophyll content were also high in plants receiving SCD of 600 nm droplet size of 1.0% chitosan. Therefore, it can be concluded from the results that, instead of applying chitosan in the conventional form, it can be more effective as an antifungal agent as well as plant growth enhancer when applied in the form of submicron dispersions.

Silicon and Fungicide Effects on Anthracnose in Moderately Resistant and Susceptible Sorghum Lines

AbstractThis study aimed to evaluate the effect of silicon (Si) and its interaction with fungicide on the management of sorghum anthracnose. The experiments were carried out in Si‐deficient soil in the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 growing seasons in a randomized, complete block, split‐split plot design with four replications. Calcium silicate (CS) and lime (L), at the rates of 6 and 5 ton/ha, respectively, were randomly assigned to the main plot. Two sorghum lines, BR‐008 (resistant) and BR‐009 (susceptible), were assigned to the split plots. The split‐split plots corresponded to with or without the fungicide Opera® (epoxiconazole + pyraclostrobin). The residual effect of CS and L from the 2008/2009 growing season was evaluated in the 2009/2010 growing season. For the 2008/2009 growing season, the area under anthracnose progress curve (AUAPC) was reduced by 39 and 42% for lines BR‐008 and BR‐009, respectively, with the application of CS. In the presence of the fungicide, the AUAPC was reduced by 35 and 42% for the CS and L treatments, respectively. Calcium silicate with and without fungicide contributed to decreasing the AUAPC by 44 and 37%, respectively. The fungicide spray decreased the AUAPC by 50 and 39% for lines BR‐008 and BR‐009, respectively. Without fungicide, the AUAPC decreased by 88% for line BR‐008 compared with line BR‐009; however, with fungicide, the reduction reached 90%. The Si leaf tissue concentration significantly increased with the CS application (5.9 g/kg) compared with the L application (0.3 g/kg), regardless of the sorghum line. The yield increased by 0.6 ton/ha with the CS compared to the L application. The fungicide increased yield by 0.48 ton/ha compared with the non‐fungicide spray treatment. The residual effect of CS in the soil increased Si leaf tissue concentration and yield as well as reduced the intensity of anthracnose in the 2009/2010 growing season.

Intensity of Anthracnose on Three Wintercreeper Euonymus Cultivars as Influenced by Fungicide Program

Abstract Plants of three cultivars of wintercreeper euonymus (Euonymus fortunei (Turcz.) Hand.-Mazz. ‘Emerald Gaiety’, ‘Emerald ‘n Gold’ and ‘Canadale Gold’) in containers were sprayed at 7-or 14-day intervals depending on label directions with mancozeb, propiconazole, or thiophanate methyl alone or in tank mixes of two fungicides to determine efficacy in controlling anthracnose symptoms caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides (Penz.) Penz. &amp; Sacc. Each fungicide was applied at the maximum label rate and half the maximum label rate when applied alone or at the maximum label rate when applied in combination. Plants were rated for disease symptoms monthly at two sites in 2002 and at one site in 2006. At Stillwater, disease ratings were typically lowest on ‘Emerald Gaiety’ and highest on ‘Emerald ‘n Gold’ on all rating dates in both years. Plants of all three cultivars and in all fungicide treatments at Stillwater had sufficient disease symptoms in July, August and September of both years to be considered nonsalable. When applied alone, mancozeb typically provided better anthracnose control than propiconazole or thiophanate methyl. Disease ratings from plants receiving any fungicide mixture were generally similar to those of plants receiving mancozeb alone. At Park Hill, disease ratings differed among cultivars only in August and September, and ratings did not differ among fungicide treatments on any rating date. Disease severity was substantially less at Park Hill than Stillwater in 2002, presumably the result of greater shade intensity and lower temperatures.

Nutrição do feijoeiro e intensidade da antracnose em função da aplicação de silício e cobre

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of calcium silicate and copper sulfate on anthracnose intensity and nutrition of bean plants. The experiment was conducted using an experimental design in randomized blocks following a 4 x 4 factorial arrangement, (four levels of calcium silicate and four levels of copper sulfate) and two additional treatments (plants without inoculation and plants sprinkled with Benomyl). Four evaluations of the incidence and severity of anthracnose were done, in addition to measuring total leaf area. At the end of the evaluations, incidence and severity data were integrated over time, obtaining the area under disease progress curve (AUDPC). Contents of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, B, Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn, Si and lignin were determined in the aerial part. A linear decrease of the intensity AUDPC was observed with the increase of the doses of calcium silicate. The severity AUDPC was influenced by the doses of copper, obtaining a reduction of 35% on the higher dosage. The supply of silicon and copper altered the content of the K, Mg, S, Zn, Ca and Si in the aerial part of the bean plants.
