A Case-Based Exploration of the Digital Teaching Mode of Supply Chain Management Course

Accompanied by the trend of globalization moving forward and the wide application and practice of digital technology, the importance of supply chain management has become more and more prominent and has also become the key to the operation and development of social enterprises. Hence, promoting the teaching innovation of the Supply Chain Management course has become a key link in the education of colleges and universities. Thus, in order to improve the teaching quality and level of the Supply Chain Management course, digital technology should be integrated into it, so as to promote the innovation of higher vocational colleges and universities in the mode of educating people, and to strengthen the quality and effect of talent cultivation. Therefore, the paper puts forward the countermeasures based on the case teaching method to promote the digital teaching mode construction of the Supply Chain Management course, so as to expand the teaching content by using the case teaching and ensure the close connection between the teaching content and the industry demand, thus helping to improve the teaching quality of the Supply Chain Management course and strengthen the level of talent cultivation.

Case studies in business education: an investigation of a learner-friendly approach

Purpose Case studies are widely used in business education as an action-oriented teaching method to develop students’ problem-solving skills. While they are popular in the classroom, the authors know little about how best to design and use case studies and whether they improve students’ learning experience and outcomes. This paper aims to investigate whether pedagogically developed case studies lead to better student learning outcomes than do traditional case studies. Design/methodology/approach This large-scale, international quantitative research surveyed students (N = 159) at four major faculties of business and economics in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland to determine whether integrating pedagogical principles into the design phase of teaching cases and adhering to pedagogical principles in case study design affected students’ learning outcomes. Findings This study finds that pedagogically developed case studies have a more positive impact on student learning compared to traditional case studies. In addition, the authors found that students who have had previous experience with case-study work and who have positive perceptions of it had even better learning outcomes compared to students who have had no previous experience with case-study work and have negative perceptions of it. Originality/value Anecdotal accounts of using case studies in business education suggest that they have a positive impact on the teaching-learning process and learning outcomes, yet very few studies have surveyed students themselves to evaluate whether case-study teaching and learning does in fact lead to better learning outcomes. By empirically showing that teaching with pedagogically developed case studies leads to better learning outcomes, the study suggests that developing case studies using these methods can improve student learning. In addition, the study suggests that students with no prior experience with case studies or with negative prior experiences may need greater preparation and support to fully benefit from case-study work.

EVALUATION OF EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES TO PROMOTE REFORM IN MORAL EDUCATION THROUGH FOREIGN LANGUAGE COURSES

Against the backdrop of current educational reform, teaching evaluation has emerged as a crucial means of measuring teaching quality and effectiveness, highlighting its growing significance. However, traditional teaching evaluations frequently concentrate on knowledge acquisition and examination results, overlooking the evaluation of students' comprehensive qualities and the broader educational outcomes. Therefore, constructing a scientific and comprehensive evaluation system for educational outcomes is of great importance in advancing teaching reform and innovation. This paper aims to explore how to promote teaching reform, particularly in the practical application of moral education through courses, through the evaluation of educational outcomes. By analyzing the problems existing in current teaching evaluations and combining the practice of moral education evaluation in foreign language courses in School of Foreign Studies, Zhaoqing University, this paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation system for educational outcomes and elaborates on its development steps and application cases in teaching. This system not only helps improve teaching quality but also effectively promotes students' overall development. The pedagogic for Utilizing the KWL Chart to Enhance Children's Learning Engagement in Inclusive Education

This article mainly discusses the significance of inclusive education, the role of communication in it, and a teaching case of a 6-year-old autistic student. It also elaborates on how to use teaching strategies such as KWL charts to help these students improve their language expression, social interaction, and cognitive understanding abilities. The article points out that inclusive education aims to eliminate discrimination and exclusion, promote active participation of all students, and meet their different needs. Communication, as a key element in the learning process, can solve obstacles and problems, and establish connections. In inclusive classrooms, communication is particularly important as it can solve difficulties caused by different experiences, cultures, knowledge, and emotions.

Innovative Design and Practical Reflections on Teaching Ideological and Political Aspects of ‘Pharmacoeconomics’ in the Digital Era

Objective: This study examines the innovative design and practical application of ideological and political (IP) teaching in the Pharmaceutical Economics course in a digitally evolving educational landscape. It seeks to effectively integrate IP education into the curriculum, enhance the synergy between disciplinary and IP education, and foster students’ holistic skills and social responsibility.Material and Methods: The research began with a literature review to identify the unique characteristics of the “Pharmaceutical Economics” course and the theoretical underpinnings of IP teaching in a digital context. It then employed empirical analysis, using specific teaching cases to compare the outcomes and challenges of innovative versus traditional teaching methods. Finally, feedback from students and teachers was gathered through interviews and surveys to provide deep insights into the practical implementation of these methods.Results: Findings indicated that leveraging online platforms and digital resources enhances the diversity and engagement of “Pharmaceutical Economics” teaching. Integrating IP education into professional instruction not only helps students link theory with practice, enhancing their overall qualities and skills, but also improves the relevance and effectiveness of IP education. Nonetheless, challenges persist; including the selection and use of digital resources, the impact of blended learning, and the fairness and accuracy of evaluations.Conclusion: Digital teaching opens new avenues for incorporating IP education in “Pharmaceutical Economics”. Careful strategic and methodological choices are required to ensure the pedagogical rigor and effectiveness of IP education. Future research may explore the transformation of teacher roles in digital environments, the empowerment of student agencies, and the seamless integration of online and offline teaching modalities.

Research on Case-Based Teaching of Digital Image Processing Implemented with Python Language

Digital image processing is a course with strong theoretical backgrounds and also has wide applications in reality. However, traditional teaching method only focuses on delivering abstract theories, which leads to a decrease in students' interest in the course. To resolve this problem, this paper studies the characteristics of basic image processing algorithms from the perspective of combining theory with practice. We investigate the characteristics of fundamental image processing algorithms. We implement some teaching cases using Python.

Donor selection for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant in a patient with JAK2 V617F primary myelofibrosis and SH2B3/LNK germline variant.

Recently, germline variants have also been found as contributors of disease etiology in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). The consideration of such inherited traits is crucial for clinical management of patients, particularly with regards to indication for allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (allo-HCT) and donor selections. Herein, we describe the very instructive case of a 49-year-old woman diagnosed with JAK2 V617F-positive primary myelofibrosis (PMF) who was found to also carry a germline variant in the SH2B3 gene, detailing clinical management, donor selection process for allo-HCT purposes, and appropriate genetic counseling.

Lessons from the sex wars: reflections on five decades of the scientific study of pornography

ABSTRACT This article consists of reflections derived from five decades as a research contributor to the scientific study of pornography and its effects. In the article, I note that have learned a lot about classical approaches to the scientific study of pornography, and about what science can – and, importantly, cannot – tell us about pornography and its effects. I have also seen the distorting influence of strongly held beliefs about pornography in creating bias in the conduct, interpretation and reporting of scientific research in this area. The examples I cite are to be regarded as something akin to ‘teaching cases' and do not provide comprehensive state-of-the-art reviews of the scientific literature – but they do provide a cautionary tale.

It may also cause students to be very interested in learning the course. Through specific cases to guide students to apply and learn the knowledge of this course. It can effectively meet the learning needs of students to alarge extent, and greatly improve the learning quality of students. Therefore, in this paper, based on the concept of OBE case teaching mode in the teaching reform measures in-depth analysis, hope to gradually optimize the overall quality of 3D modeling course teaching work to lay a solid foundation, at the same time can also to help students understand the basic knowledge of 3D modeling course.

Training Path of Computer Application Ability and Computational Thinking of Normal University Students under the Background of Teacher Professional Certification

Healthcare Analytics Teaching Cases

The cases offer students hands-on experience in practical healthcare challenges, enhancing their analytical and decision-making skills. For each case, we provide a detailed background, an in-depth data description, and comprehensive teaching notes. These elements are structured to facilitate understanding and teaching analytics concepts. The article also summarizes student feedback collected from various courses where these case studies were implemented. This feedback consistently indicates that the cases significantly contributed to the student’s perceived learning, particularly in understanding and applying healthcare analytics in concrete scenarios. These case studies bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application and serve as a valuable resource for instructors seeking to enrich their healthcare analytics curriculum. Exploration and Practice of Ideological and Political Education in the Basic Course "Public Relations" of Public Utility Management

This article explores the practice and innovation of ideological and political education in the basic course "Public Relations" of the Public Utility Management major as an example. In the teaching process, teachers delve into the ideological and political elements in the curriculum, combining them with the theoretical knowledge and practical operations of public relations. Through teaching methods such as case analysis, role-playing, and simulation practice, teachers guide students to pay attention to moral and ethical issues in public relations practice, and cultivate their professional ethics and social responsibility. At the same time, teachers also integrate core ideological and political elements such as patriotism, professional ethics, and cultural confidence into the curriculum, guiding students to establish correct values and outlook on life. This article points out the direction for the evaluation of teaching effectiveness, teaching reflection, and teaching improvement of ideological and political courses through actual teaching cases and data.

Enhancing Student Comprehension of Glucose Metabolism Visualization Through Virtual Simulation Platform: An Educational Approach.

With the rapid progression of biotechnology, the significance translational research on glycolysis in molecular pharmacology has become increasingly evident. To deepen students' understanding of glycolytic processes and facilitate their comprehension of drug action mechanisms, we have developed a visual virtual simulation platform dedicated glycolysis. The educational approach commenced with theoretical lectures on glycolysis, followed by practical laboratory sessions where students measured glycolysis-related parameters such as hexokinase, pyruvate kinase, and lactate. Students then engaged with the virtual simulation training platform to explore glycolytic stress tests and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging, with their progress tracked through an assessment mode. The study involved 67 s-year undergraduate students majoring in biomedical sciences, all of whom had received instruction in glucose metabolism theories and completed the associated questionnaires. The results showed that the students gained a deeper understanding of glycolysis and the clinical application of PET/CT imaging in the context of glycolysis. The majority also agreed that the integration of scientific and clinical cases in teaching is beneficial and that the project sparked their interest in scientific research. These findings align with existing literature that emphasizes the importance of innovative educational tools in enhancing student engagement and understanding of the underlying theories of the curriculum. This project designed an innovative glycolytic metabolism teaching system encompassing the monitoring of traditional glycolytic indicators, glycolytic stress tests, and PET/CT imaging based on glycolysis. The visual virtual simulation platform for glycolysis can serve as an innovative educational tool in the molecular pharmacology curriculum or other courses involving glycolysis, assisting students in deeply understanding the molecular mechanisms of glycolysis and its significance in disease and drug action.

The colonisation of the colour pink: variation and change in Māori’s colour lexicon

Abstract All languages exhibit basic colour terms that manifest how distinct linguistic systems categorise colour. Māori, the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand, demonstrates an instructive case where drastic innovations in colour terminology took place in response to environmental and cultural influences. We demonstrate how and when Māori accrued new colour terms to replace existing ones in its immediate ancestor, Proto-Eastern-Polynesian, and eventually coined new colour terms through borrowing from native words for nature to match the English colour categories that did not previously exist in Māori – except for the colour pink. While contemporary Māori is at the same stage as English (Stage VII) in Berlin and Kay’s colour term hierarchy, the evidence is that Māori was at Stage IV pre-colonisation, possessing only five native colour categories. The evolution of Māori’s colour categories thus illuminates how colonisation may impact the basic vocabulary of a language, both in the Māori settling a new land in the 13th century and in their subsequent language contact with English colonisers in the 19th century.

Optimization of Appraisal Case Teaching in Law from the Perspective of Social Cognitive Theory

In response to the challenge of implementing the method of appraisal case analysis in legal education, this study explores the optimization of legal case teaching using social cognitive theory. Social cognitive theory, as a crucial framework for individual learning and behavioral change, provides systematic theoretical support for legal education. The application of observational learning, the cultivation of self-efficacy, and the impact of triadic reciprocal determinism offer concrete guidance and insights for the implementation of the appraisal method. Applying these theories can effectively promote the implementation of the appraisal method and ultimately improve the quality of legal education.

Enhancing University Japanese Language Education through New Media Strategies and Impacts

With the rapid development of information technology, new media technology has gradually become an indispensable part of modern education, especially in the field of language teaching has shown great potential. This paper aims to explore the application of new media strategies in college Japanese teaching and its impact on teaching results. First of all, through the overview of the definition of new media and its advantages in the field of education, the unique position of new media in Japanese teaching is clarified. Secondly, the article introduces several new media tools and technologies in detail, such as online course resources, social platforms and mobile learning applications, and their specific application cases in actual teaching. In addition, this study evaluated the change of students' learning behavior and the improvement of Japanese teaching quality before and after new media intervention through quantitative analysis. In view of the problems that may be encountered in practice, such as technical obstacles and teacher training needs, the paper puts forward the corresponding solutions. Finally, the research results show that the rational use of new media can effectively stimulate students' interest in learning, enhance classroom interaction, and significantly improve the teaching effect. This paper not only summarizes the existing research results, but also provides direction and inspiration for further exploration of the application of new media in Japanese teaching in the future.

Study on the Practice of Ideological and Political Education in Foreign Trade Correspondence on Teaching in English- Taking the 7C Principleas an Example

In the new era, integrating ideological and political elements into professional courses, strengthening the shaping of students' values, and actively guiding college students to establish correct values. This article analyzes the practice of ideological and political education based on the 7C principles of foreign trade correspondence by English teaching. Starting from the advantages of ideological and political construction in foreign trade correspondence courses, the socialist core values are compared with the "7P principles" of writing in foreign trade correspondence courses. It is found that their content is consistent with the "7C principles", especially the basic moral norms of citizens, namely "patriotism, dedication, integrity, and friendliness", which can be combined with the content of the 7C principles for teaching. During the teaching process, classroom discussion, case analysis, and vivid deduction methods can be used to effectively carry out ideological and political education on foreign trade correspondence by English teaching.

The Application and Implications of Memetics Theory in Second Language Acquisition

Abstract: In recent years, with the continuous development of language learning theories, the traditional model of second language acquisition has gradually exposed its limitations and is unable to fully explain the complex language learning process. Meanwhile, Memetic Theory, as a theory that explains cultural transmission and imitation, has shown potential application in the field of language learning. As a result, this paper explores its application strategies and implications in second language learning. Specifically, through a literature review of traditional language learning theories (e.g., behaviorism, cognitivism, and social constructivism), it analyzes the shortcomings of these theories in language learning learning, and proposes modal theory as an alternative theory. In addition, it examines the impact of modality on the vocabulary retention, grammatical proficiency, and phonological imitation of language learners, and assesses the potential benefits of modal propagation in language teaching and learning by integrating it with actual teaching cases. In short, the study, which employs a systematic application of modality theory to the field of language learning, can provide new perspectives and methods for second language acquisition, thereby enhancing the efficacy of language learning.

Teaching agile: A case study approach with an optional game

Learning Agile philosophy is essential for system analysis and design or software development courses. Organizations operate in highly dynamic environments, constantly needing to adapt, change, or create innovative Information Systems. Agile provides guiding values and principles that enable systems analysts to support organizations in responding to change and developing, modifying, or updating information systems. By learning Scrum, an Agile-inspired framework, students can assume the role of systems analyst, organizing activities and working in teams iteratively to solve complex problems using Agile principles. This hands-on approach helps students understand the importance of stakeholder involvement, constant scrutiny, and adjustment to achieve frequent system updates. Hence, this case study immerses students in a scenario where they apply the Scrum framework, with an optional puzzle game to introduce students to agile philosophy through its manifesto. Learning by doing has proven effective for complex or dry topics, with students responding positively to this method. Interview data collected at the end of the activity showed high student satisfaction and a strong sense of knowledge acquisition while enjoying the class. Additionally, integrating a game to internalize agile concepts with a teaching case to apply concepts presents a rich educational approach that can be adapted to other Information Systems topics.
