Al-Azhar University in the Events of the Arab Spring (Case of Egypt)

Due to the comprehensiveness of Islam, the role of the “Islamic factor” in political processes in the Middle East and North Africa is great, while the nature of the manifestations of the “Islamic factor” largely depends among other things on the current state of modern religious educational institutions, including those serving as a forge of Islamic personnel today. One of the most prestigious universities in Islamic oikumene, giving religious education for Muslims from all over the world, is AlAzhar al-Sharif (the shorter Al-Azhar is more common). It was here that some famous thinkers studied, who further significantly contributed to the development of the so-called “political Islam”. This study is an attempt to clarify the role of Al-Azhar University and related Islamic scholars in the socio-political processes of the Middle East and North Africa. Conducting the research, the author largely turned to the sources of the Islamic religion (the Qur’an, Hadith), theological texts of a number of thinkers (for example, the interpretation of the Qur’an Rashid Rida), religious polemical works (the work of Sheikh Osama al-Azhari against the “Muslim Brotherhood” and other “Islamist” trends), documents compiled by the leadership of Al-Azhar; academic literature on related issues. The author came to the conclusion that the “Islamic factor” did not play a crucial role at the beginning of events, but vividly manifested itself subsequently. The actual suppression of Islam by secular dictators created a fertile ground for the acute discontent of believing citizens and activists of various movements who uphold a particular version of the Islamic political alternative. The most influential university in the Islamic world, Al-Azhar, in an official document, “Arab Spring”, indicated the possibility of a shift in despotic power, while emphasizing at the same time the inadmissibility of violent suppression of peaceful protest. Certain Azharite theologians were directly involved in the events of the “Arab Spring”, in particular, the passionate scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi, associated with the Muslim Brotherhood movement and graduated from Al-Azhar, as well as Sheikh Emad Effat, who died during the suppression of an unarmed speech 15 December 2011. Such activity of various Islamic forces in the political sphere is primarily due to the very nature of the Islamic tradition, which does not separate the “sacred” and “profane”.

The Effect of Prophetic Leadership, Organizational Culture on Employee Engagement At sufism-based Islamic Boarding School

Pesantren is the oldest Islamic education institution in Indonesia and even in the world. The pesantren has become a very rapidly developing religious education institution. Employee engagement in pesantren is very rarely studied in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of prophetic leadership and organizational culture on employee engagement in Sufism-based Islamic boarding schools. This study used 230 employees in sufism-based islamic boarding schools. The results show that prophetic leadership has a significant and positive effect on employee engagement. Organizational culture also has a significant and positive effect on employee engagement. The implication of this study shows that prophetic leadership has a great influence on employee engagement in sufism based Islamic boarding schools.

Strategi Promosi dalam Manajemen Pemasaran Pondok Pesantren Al Urwatul Wutsqo Diwek Jombang

Islamic boarding schools as religious education institutions have the main objectives, namely; preparing santri to master the knowledge of Islam (taffaqquh fi al din), then followed by propaganda spreading Islam and the stronghold of the people in the field of morals. Al Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School Diwek Jombang includes educational institutions that contribute to the nation by holding promotions to encourage the public to obtain the proper education. The purpose of this study was to determine the promotional strategies in marketing management in the Al Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School Diwek Jombang. This type of research is field research. The results of the study indicate that the promotion strategy uses tools; electronic media, stickers, banners, wall clocks, calendars, and personal selling. Marketing management through the stages of planning, organization, actualization, evaluation. The supporting factors are vision, motivation from caregivers, santri whose loyalty and totality and promotional tools are quite interesting. The inhibitors are santri / ustadz who are not visionary and semisi with Islamic boarding schools and some weaknesses of promotional tools. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of promotional strategies in marketing management of the Al Urwatul Wutsqo Islamic Boarding School Diwek Jombang uses existing management tools and functions in the company's marketing management.

Perkembangan Pelaksanaan Pendidikan Agama Islam Di Madrasah Diniyah Al-Fitroh Sedayulawas Brondong Lamongan

Abstract: Early in its development and even into the early 70s, Madin was generally understood as a traditional religious education institution that grew and developed in rural communities through a unique social process. At that time, and even up to now, as well as an educational institution, Madin also acts as an influential social institution, its existence giving influence and color of religious life in the surrounding community; Not only in rural administrative areas, but not infrequently to cross the district where Madin was. In the process of teaching and learning, the santri are always nurtured and equipped with the ability to read the Qur'an properly and correctly in accordance with makhroj and tajwid correctly with curriculum and books in accordance with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and its own publications. Besides the learning activities to deepen Islamic scholarship also the students are given additional activities (Extras such as rikhlah ilmiayah, muhadloroh and tadabbur nature.

Pesantren and Disability: the Dynamics of Islamic Boarding School in Accommodating Children with Disabilities

Islamic Boarding School is one of the Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, Islamic boarding school is a religious education institution that has its distinctiveness and is different from other education. Education in Islam, education, da’wah, community development, and other similar education. In general, Islamic boarding schools accept normal Santri in terms of ability. However, there are Islamic boarding schools that only accept students who have special needs. The purpose of this study was to study how disability education in al-Achsaniyyah Islamic Boarding School. This study used descriptive qualitative method. This study involved six informants, consisting of one main informant, and five supporting informants who worked on supplementing the data. The selection of informants is based on purposive sampling. Data exploration was carried out by in-depth interviews, non-participant observation, and field notes. The validity of the study was carried out by the method of data triangulation, namely by checking the facts by comparing them with various sources, methods, and theories. The results showed that al-Achsaniyyah Islamic Boarding School is a special boarding school for people with disabilities located in Kudus, Central Java. Like other huts, Pondok al-Achsaniyyah Kudus also has elements in the form of Kyai, dormitories, mosques as centers of worship, schools and the presence of Santri. It’s just that students in al-Achsaniyyah Kudus Islamic Boarding School are autistic.

PERAN GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM DALAM MENGATASI PERILAKU NEGATIF SISWA MTs PUI SEGERAN INDRAMAYU

Students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah PUI Segeran Indramayu had negative behavior. This was in stark contrast to the views of the surrounding community. They thought that students who study in religious education institutions, such as Madrasah Tsanawiyah , had better behavior than students who study in secondary schools. It was because Madrasah Tsanawiyah is an Islamic school. The purpose of the study was to reveal in depth about the role of Islamic Education teachers in overcoming students’ negative behavior. This study used a qualitative approach. The research findings showed that students’ negative behavior are lighting firecrackers in class, not wearing uniforms, not working on teachers’ assignments, chatting and joking in learning, drawing motorcycle gang names in books, singing persib songs, making and playing paper airplane. This behavior was influenced by internal and external factors. In this case, Islamic education teachers carried out preventive actions, namely: congregational prayers, commemoration of Islamic holidays, Pesantren Ramadan , Islamic education teachers’ exemplary, empowering extra organizations, mentoring, reminding, advising, and inviting dialogue, weekly religious studies. Repressive measures were to provide penalties toward educating not oppressive, and give more assignments than other students. Curative actions, namely: (1) general actions, they included: (a) Advice and reprimand with a religious approach. (b) Provide reasonable special attention to problematic students. (c) Cooperate with parents of problematic students in overcoming their negative behavior. (2) (2) Special actions through a case-by-case individual approach.

STRATEGI PENINGKATAN MUTU PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ARAB DI MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH SALAFIYAH AL TARMASI

ABSTRAK
 Learning Arabic for the world of the Salaf Islamic Boarding School, which focuses on the study of the Yellow Book is one of the most important foundations because without understanding Arabic properly, it will face many difficulties. The learning system in Islamic boarding schools is often called Madrasah Diniyah. This Madrasah is one of the religious education institutions on the outside school path, which is expected to be able to continuously provide Islamic religious education to unmet students on the school path through the classical system.
 To study this problem, this research was carried out in the Madrasah Diniyah Al-Tarmasi with the subject of madrasah management from the Madrasah Headmaster, the board of teachers and education staff as well. Collecting data in this study are used interviews, observation and documentation as the main instruments with data triangulation as the analytical knife.
 The results of the study shown that there are several efforts by the Headmaster of Madrasah and teachers in improving the Quality of Arabic language learning by pouring a number of Strategies in: 1) Strategies to improve curriculum and the process of Arabic learning. 2) Strategies for improving the quality of human resources to improve Arabic learning. 3) Strategies for improving the quality of facilities and infrastructure to improve the quality of Arabiclearning.

Daya Tahan dan Eksistensi Pesantren Di Era 4.0

Pesantren as one of the religious education institutions that are the womb of the prospective Muslim scholars, they also have a mandate to carry out educational missions based on Article 1 (1) of Law No. 20 of 2003 namely developing the potential of students to have religious spiritual power, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character and skills needed by him, society, nation, and state. Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (here in after: Era 4.0) has an unimportant impact. It affects all aspects of human life. Included in this case is education. This era is characterized by the increasingly central role of cyber technology in human life. So do not be surprised if in the world of education the term "Education 4.0" appears. Availability of various information is born from the 4.0 digital revolution makes everyone able to access knowledge without being limited by space and time, therefore the pesantren curriculum continues to be encouraged to be contextual to the needs of the times, but on the other hand the pesantren is still able to maintain its identity as guardian of tradition. Efforts that can be developed in Islamic boarding schools in the era of 4.0 include building digital literacy in Islamic boarding schools and creating Islamic study channels.

THE UNIQUENESS OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN INDONESIA

Islamic education, the oldest education system in Indonesia which is admitted and appreciated for its contribution to the nation building, emerged together with the arrival of Islam to Indonesia, even before the Dutch’s occupation. Afterward, it took its own path, independent of government, clung to its own way and opened to change in that tradition. Islamic religious education institutions called pesantren Initially used the Arabic language as teaching media. When the desire to develop a system of public education for all people at the turn of the 20th century grew, several prominents thougth to look for possibilities to engage in the development of Islamic education. Among the prominent Muslim scholars are K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and K.H. Hashim Asy'ari who initiated to establish Islamic modern schools called madrasahs in many areas. Education in Islamic Schools has become a tool of struggle to achieve independence and freedom in Indonesia. Pesantren which is a model of Islamic education indoctrinated his students to believe that colonialism was a wrong and and they are created diffrently not to invade one another but to live in harmony. That’s why Dutch colonial government refused to subsidize the model of Islamic education in schools because it was considered of no use and will threaten the authority and dignity of the Dutch government.Key Words: Uniqueness Of Islamic, Indonesia.

Paradigma Islamisasi dan Integralisme Pendidikan Islam

Education is the main pillar of the rise of a country and nation. The ideology and paradigm of thought of educational leaders are the life of the world of educational effectiveness in a country. Islam is a strict teaching about education with the term compulsory education from buayan to grave. The education cycle starts from the mother's womb (womb) to the soil content (barzah). These three natural linkages make Muslim thinkers who are concerned about education that links between the three realms (womb, world and barzah). The integralism paradigm of education emerged which tried to incorporate the values of revelation and sunnah in the world of education, both science and technology. No less important is the education thinker who connects science and technology with imtaq (Islamization). These two terms gave birth to new institutions in the world of education. The integralism paradigm includes religious values in science and technology, giving birth to religious education institutions with nuanced science and technology, for example modern Islamic schools (MIM) or Global MI (MIG), International MI (MII), and others. Likewise, the paradigm of Islamization of education gave birth to educational institutions that connected science and technology with imtaq, for example integrated Islamic elementary schools and tahfizd (SDIT and SDITh) and the like. Basically the two ideologies of thought have the same substance, but the effects that are different from each other, namely MIG, MIM and MII become as if they were public schools, while SDIT seems like a religious school. In substance, these two educational institutions do not violate the legislation concerning the national education system from the point of view of education, but ideologically both can be said to be the psimism of educational science. According to the authors both must be equated scientifically and the legality and formality. But in the view of Islamic education MI is more important than SDIT.

Investigating demotivational factors in Indonesian EFL classrooms: The case of madrasa students

Compared to motivation, demotivation is still a relatively new topic in the field of language learning. This present study aims to investigate demotivational factors among Madrasa (religious educational institution) students in the Indonesian EFL context. This study employed a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory design in which the quantitative phase was conducted before the qualitative phase. A 25-close-ended questionnaire along with one open-ended question were filled by 190 Madrasa students. To expand the results of the questionnaire, interviews with two students were conducted. Through a descriptive analysis and thematic analysis, five key demotivators were revealed, they are a) the nature of the target language, b) lesson-specific factors, c) learning materials, d) teacher-related factors, and e) the learning environment. The results also indicated some factors which are not included in the questionnaire, they are a) lack of self-confidence, b) lack of intrinsic motivation, c) lack of learning community, and d) teacher gender. Although previously students’ religious beliefs were said to affect the students’ demotivation, it appeared that half of the students did not consider them to be demotivating. Instead of religious beliefs, the students found the nature of English as the most demotivating factor, which contradicts the findings of previous demotivation studies that found teachers as the main demotivating factor.

Optimization model of performance factor of green and smart building in islamic boarding school

An Islamic Boarding School is one of Islamic religious education institutions that have an important role in supporting Islamic religious education in Indonesia. Islamic Boarding School has physical facilities to support the learning activities and all supporting activities. This study aims to determine the influence model between the performance factors of physical facilities based on Islamic Boarding School needs and user satisfaction. The research location is Islamic boarding school Al-Fatah Malang Regency East Java. Performance factors are structured with reference to green and smart building principles. The methods used are Multiple Linear Regression, Dynamic Programming, and Quantitative Method (QM). The research results generated ten performance factors including Security, Safety and Healthy, Facilities Function, Architectural Aesthetics, Easiness and Affordability, Structural Reliability, Building Durability, Comfortable and Regularity, Availability and Capacity of Facilities, and Implementation of Environmentally Friendly Concept. The ten performance factors have a significant influence on green and smart building performance. The steps of optimization results include Security on Luggage-Free from accidents caused by building design-Natural lighting function-Aesthetic in landscapes, sculpture, and vegetation-Easy in location accessibility from the surrounding areas-Comfort in roof structure performance-Condition in dormitory building-Comfort in dormitory rooms-Availability and capacity of bathrooms-Alternative energy from solar source.

Peran Pesantren dalam Membentuk Karakter Santri

The purpose of this study was to find out the role of the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School in the Pangkalan Susu District of Langkat in the Form of Santri Character The approach used is case study. The object of this research is religious Islamic education institutions. Data sources are people who are directly and indirectly involved with pesantren. To collect these data, the author uses several techniques in data collection, namely documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis in research uses interpretive patterns that aim to achieve a correct understanding of facts, data and symptoms. In this study researchers focused on two curricula, namely the pesantren curriculum and the general education curriculum. used in the Darusa'dah Islamic Boarding School which is related to character formation. The Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School curriculum accommodates students who focus on learning two curricula, namely the pesantren curriculum and the general education curriculum. The pesantren curriculum material taught is sourced from the yellow book which includes; religious laws, monotheism, morals and Arabic. The education curriculum of the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School is focused on the teaching of the Koran, hadith and the books written by the previous ulama. Educational material is presented based on class. The pesantren curriculum and general education curriculum are taught in the Darusaa'dah Islamic Boarding School, as well as forming the character of the santri.

Pengembangan Desain Permainan Stik Lalaran untuk Peningkatan Kemampuan Mufrodat dalam Kitab Bahasa Arab Ro’sun Sirah bagi Santri Madrasah Diniyah Tingkat Ula

Indonesia is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. So that the existence of Arabic in Indonesia becomes one of the important languages ​​to be studied and mastered by Indonesian people. Therefore, the Arabic language has been taught in various educational institutions, especially Islamic religious education institutions in the Islamic Middle School. A variety of Arabic books taught to students of the Islamic School, one of them is the Book of Arabic Ro'sun Sirah. In this study, the author will explain the development of the design of the runway sticks Ro'sun Sirah game as one of the media to make it easier for student of the Islamic School to learn the Book of Arabic in Ro'sun Sirah. With the development method using the ADDIE approach, the authors succeeded in developing a variety of designs on the runnings of Ro'sun Sirah sticks; Among them is the game “Jungkat-Jungkit Stik”, game “Tepuk Stik”, game “Undian Stik”, game “Kopyok Stik”, game “Meraba Stik”, game Stik “Putar Jam Penebak”, game “Hunting Kata Dalam Stik”, and game “Comot Stik”.

Andrew Mayos Human Capital Approach Model in the Management of More Productive Human Resources in Private Islamic Higher Education

This research is intended to identify Andrew Mayo's More Productive Human Resource Approach Model in private Islamic higher institutions in the area of the Coordinator of Private Islamic Region Region II Colleges of West Java and Banten. This research uses a qualitative method with descriptive research type. Based on Andrew Mayo's human capital approach, to develop a sustainable and competitive organizational climate, five main components of Mayo must be implemented, namely; individuals who have the ability, motivation, organizational climate, work group effectiveness, and leadership. Realizing the importance of the role of human resources in the activities of Islamic religious higher education institutions must be able to manage human resources as well as possible, because the key to the success of an organization or institution is not only in terms of technological superiority and availability of funds, but also needs to pay attention to human factors. Based on observations, the results of this study indicate that: there are still many private Islamic tertiary educational institutions in the Kopertais Region II area of West Java and Banten that have not implemented an optimal human resource approach, as suggested by Mayo, especially in aspects of individual capabilities and individual motivation.

There are about 70 religious educational institutions in China, in particular, such as the Nanjing Christian Religious Academy, the Islamic Institute of China, the Tao Institute, the Buddha Institute, the Chinese Catholic Theosophical Academy, etc. Geopolitical changes and globalization processes taking place in the modern world affect the tasks of the state authorities of the PRC in the religious sphere. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Chinese model of religious activity regulation. The article considers the features of politics in the sphere of religion, as well as the religious situation in China. The religious situation in Tibet, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is shown. The dynamics of religiosity is given, the emphasis is on changing state policy in the field of religion, creating a regulatory framework for the regulation of state-church relations in China. The article used such methods as the unity of historical and logical, concrete historical approach, methods of comparative and system analysis.

ТЕОЛОГИЯ В СВЕТСКИХ И ДУХОВНЫХ УЧЕБНЫХ ЗАВЕДЕНИЯХ В СОВРЕМЕННОЙ РОССИИ: КОМПАРАТИВНЫЙ АНАЛИЗ

Since 1994 the discipline “Theology” in Russia has been taught both in religious and secular higher educational institutions. It is assumed that academic theology, unlike divinity taught in religious educational establishments, is critical and is not related to religious practice and worship, does not train the clergymen, it is autonomous in relation to religious organizations. However, in practice, the principle of secularism in this discipline teaching is not always realized. The paper is a comparative analysis of church divinity and academic theology based on the study of the curricula of the educational programs of the discipline in religious and secular universities by the example of Omsk State University and St. Tikhon’s Orthodox University, as well as research papers published by Belgorod State National University graduates of this specialization.

TAREKAT SEBAGAI SISTEM PENDIDIKAN TASAWUF

The research of this dissertation was entitled Tarekat As a System of Sufism Education (The Moral Study of the Education System of the Qodiriyah Wa Naqsabandiyah Congregation in Ogan Komering Ilir District). This is motivated by the growth and development of a desire for spiritualism or Sufism in society in the form of tarekat teachings. The teachings of Sufism which were once exclusive and individual can only be learned by special people. In its development the tarekat underwent a shift so that it was inclusive and communal / group that could be learned by all Muslims. The growth of Sufism Majlis became the embryo of the formation of non-formal institutions of Sufism namely tarekat. Qadiriyah wa Naqsabandiyah (TQN) is one of the Sufism educational institutions which consists of educational components that work systemically. So the formulation of the problem is how morality in the spiritual education system of the Qadiriyah wa Naqsabandiyah Order includes aspects; Educational Objectives, Educators, Students, Educational Processes, Curriculum and evaluation. This research is a type of field research (Field Research), while the research approach that I use is the Phenomenological approach. This research includes descriptive qualitative research. In collecting data, the authors used primary and secondary data sources, namely murshid tarekat, students, provincial and district JATMAN administrators, and tarekat guidebooks. Data collection techniques are interview techniques, observation, and documentation. After the data is obtained, then it is analyzed using the descriptive-qualitative method with the technical data collection, data selection process (data reduction), data assessment, and conclusion drawing. This study found that in the Qadiriah Wa Naqsyabandiyah Ogan Komering Ilir Congregation, there are educational components that work systemically, including: Educational Objectives that have a moral characteristically Effective Ritualist, become an Al'Abid al Kamil, a moral educator (Teacher Centered) being the main controller in education, students who have the morality of Resignation Religion, namely surrender fully/have a strong belief in spiritual guidance given by murshid (Rabithah and Wasilah). The Education Process that has an Akhlakistik Religious Internalisation, namely internalizing religious values ​​through Dhikrullah (Dzikir Darajah and Khasanah), and with the method of Mujahadah, Muraqabah, and Musyahadah. The curriculum which has the morality of the subject of Eksperiance Oriented is oriented towards the spiritual experiences of students through the Amaliah and the teachings of the TQN (Aurad Dhikr, Tawajjuhan, Khataman, Shalawat, Istighasah and Manaqiban). Evaluation that has an akhlaqic Collegial Personal in the sense of institutional evaluation and individual (personal) evaluation in terms of the spiritual/inner condition of the student through isyarah murshid. With the findings above, the most important contribution in this research is Practically, this dissertation shows that the existence of the TQN tarekat institution in Kab. Ogan Komering Ilir is one of the Islamic Religious education institutions that focuses on the spiritual formation of the community so that it is able to create positive community morals in the face of the swift currents of globalization/modern civilization values ​​in the present.
