Innovative Transport Pressure Management Models for Efficient Transportation Management in the RUDN-University

The main transport flows on the RUDN territory are caused by the city public and private transport. The general transportation scheme around and through the campus develops some decades. Today this is a huge traffic system with high technogenic pressure on the surrounding ecosystems. The efforts of the university only on the organization of bike transport and shuttle buses cannot protect in this situation our territory. Thus, the university in collaboration with the Moscow government try to solve the transportation problem: a new underground station named RUDN will be built – this must help to optimize transport flows. Transportation management in the university campus (especially situated in the city) needs to apply reliable models for the optimization of transport pressure. That is why, for the RUDNUniversity campus in the South-West of Moscow, we try to develop the most sensitive indicators and to control a set of technogenic factors affecting environmental quality. The unique environmental monitoring system of the RUDN campus able to evaluate the environmental state of the territory and to contribute to maintaining the environmental quality is now under development. The primary results were presented in September 2019 during the first UI Green Metric World Sustainable Campuses Tour in RUDN.

THE INTERPLAY BETWEEN GLOBAL CONSULTING SERVICES AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

The Covid-pandemic forces governments, individuals, and legal entities to transit from business-as-usual approach to digital, inclusive, innovative, and adaptive management and producing models. Maintaining the old ways of decision-making became increasingly difficult, if not impossible. The lack of adequate knowledge, know-how and time deficit increases the demand for professional advice from peers or individuals and companies specialized in consulting services in different spheres, including management in general, personnel, information technologies, security, etc. The global consulting services industry in general and its most successful representatives, both individuals and firms, seem to prosper in any case, but the question is whether their consultancy really improves business results and stimulates economic growth. The article aims are disclosing the connection between global consulting services and economic development applying correlation analysis to the size of global consulting services market and the World Bank’s data on GDP. The paper discloses recent changes in the size of global consulting services market and world GDP growth. The size of global consulting services markets constantly grew and the change equaled 44.4 percent in 2011–2020. Financial advisory and operations consultancy were the fastest growing segments demonstrating the increase of 54.5 and 53.6 percent, respectively. The global GDP increased by 14.2 during this period reaching $83.8 trillion in 2020 and showing the peak of $87.6 trillion in 2019. Our calculations have shown that the linear correlation coefficient of the size of global consulting services market and world GDP is statistically significant. Therefore, there is a direct and strong connection between consulting services and economic growth, namely the global GDP. The increase of the size of global consulting services market by 1 unit ($1 billion) causes the average increase of the world GDP by 0.139 units ($ trillion). Rethinking organizational change in the COVID-19 era

: Planned organizational change has a long history in formal organizations of all types. A model of planned organizational change from the existing literature can be used to identify a set of principles which can be offered for use during the current COVID-19 crisis, but this traditional model may not be fully adequate during this especially challenging period. A relatively new model from the field of complexity theory for organizations, Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS), offers promise for addressing the unique crisis conditions facing hospitals in the COVID-19 era. These conditions require constant assessment; ongoing high levels of communication; and iterative cycles of experimentation, reflection and learning, which can be better addressed in a CAS framework. Healthcare providers are experiencing periods of relative calm and interspersed crisis, which need to be proactively recognized and managed through sustained, “big picture” changes using timely combinations of traditional methods, complexity approaches, with the flexibility and ethical considerations of crisis management strategies built in. Successful crisis management requires leadership skills of those involved in decision-making at the local level, with a preference for the use of inclusive and adaptive leadership styles. Innovative strategies, teamwork, and crisis management models that have recently emerged may enable deeper systemic change in the long term. Any hospital or program in a healthcare system should be able to use this material to address a significant organizational change need.

Knowledge and Innovation Management Model in the Organizational Environment

The objective of this research is to develop a methodology that allows the construction of a standard of knowledge management and technological innovation applicable to the field of the universities in Mexico, the use of which results in better use of their resources and the improvement of their productivity. The analysis is carried out based on the systematic integration of the knowledge management and innovation models published in recent years, as well as the results of the experiences that propose standards for knowledge management and innovation. The results found are that knowledge management favors and facilitates innovation in organizations and allows them to offer better products and services. These findings are with the application of a methodology and an instrument to measure the maturity of the organizational structure. The application of the evaluation instrument was applied in a single organization. However, it can be considered a case study that empirically contributes to the state of the art of knowledge management. Organizations need to become aware of the high value of the knowledge and experience in various fields of the people who participate in them. It has been observed that the participation of experts facilitates the achievement of organizational objectives and favors knowledge management and innovation. This study provided information and experiences of an administrative nature to a higher education institution, which allowed an improvement in strategic decision-making, the promotion of technological developments, and the improvement of internal processes that lead to greater effectiveness of the academic and research processes.

Application of an Innovative Model for the Risk Management of COVID-19 in a Multinational Manufacturing Company

The COVID-19 incidence in 61 manufacturing plants in Europe (EU), North America (NA) and Latin-America (LATAM) was compared with the incidence observed in the countries where the plants are located in order to evaluate the application of an innovative model for COVID-19 risk management. Firstly, a network of local and global teams was created, including an external university occupational physician team for scientific support. In July 2020, global prevention guidelines for the homogenous management of the pandemic were applied, replacing different site or regional procedures. A tool for COVID-19 monitoring was implemented to investigate the relationship between the incidence rates inside and outside the plants. In the period of May–November 2020, 565 confirmed cases (EU 330, NA 141, LATAM 94) were observed among 20,646 workers with different jobs and tasks, and in the last two months 85% EU and 70% NA cases were recorded. Only in 10% of cases was a possible internal origin of the contagion not excluded. In the EU and NA, unlike LATAM, the COVID-19 incidence rates inside the sites punctually followed the rising trend outside. In conclusion, the model, combining a global approach with the local application of the measures, maintains the sustainability in the manufacturing industry.

EPISTEMOLOGY OF INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF BUSINESS ENTITIES

The conceptual apparatus of the categories «innovation» and «innovative development» is investigated in the article. Innovation is defined as a sphere of free ideas, covering the issues of organizational and methodological provision for continuous improvement of the enterprise activity, reproduction of rules and regulations governing the development and dissemination of innovations for the development of economic systems. It is substantiated that the essence of innovation is revealed through the processes of informatization and intellectualization with provision of the development of economic, social and information systems. Factors for ensuring the implementation of radical innovations are identified, namely: values (standards, priorities), procedures (formal, informal) and resources (tangible, intangible). The expediency of optimizing the model of enterprise organization on the basis of the development of a personalized parameter – the organizational code is determined. It is substantiated that the main idea of constructing the model of innovation management is the trinity of factors of balanced development, namely: understanding of the real situation, formation of expectations and development of necessary measures. The importance of imitation in the formation of the strategy of innovative development is determined and the stages of transformation of the organizational business model are described. The strategy of innovative changes focused on sustainable business development is proposed, which contributes to increase its efficiency and effectiveness. Emphasis is placed on the use of big data technology as an alternative to traditional database management systems, which contributes the efficient use of big amounts of data, stimulates the development of various management solutions and increases the ability to consider and evaluate alternatives to enterprise development. Innovation is identified as a central factor in the digital transformation and a priority of digital business development that is a new principle of efficiency and contributes to expand the target audience with increasing the scale of value proposition.

Modelling and managing innovation lab as catalyst of digital transformation: theoretical and empirical evidence

PurposeThe paper aims to discuss the role of innovation labs as innovative management models to foster digital and continuous innovation practices within organisations of the digital ecosystem. A meta-model resulting from the analysis of the case study is proposed to describe the key phases and the relevant issues for the effective management of innovation labs as catalysts of digital innovation.Design/methodology/approachThe paper combines theoretical insights with the empirical evidence gathered from a case study. The case study concerns the analysis of an innovation lab engaged in fostering innovation capacity and supporting digital transformation in a regional tourism ecosystem.FindingsThe study advances theoretical and practical knowledge about how to effectively design and manage innovation labs. Furthermore, the research provides scholars and practitioners with useful insights and implications for the elaboration, development and assessment of the managerial initiatives aimed at supporting organisations in facing the severe challenges of digital transformation, as well as in increasing organisations’ innovation capacity and continuous innovation attitudes.Originality/valueThe originality and value of the paper reside in enriching the empirical base for a later theory building on management issues of innovation labs, as well as in the proposal of a grounded-theory-based model for their successful management. In doing so, the study fills a relevant gap emerging in the current literature such as the lack of studies dealing with management models for the implementation of digital innovation strategies to manage digital knowledge, foster continuous innovation and based on innovative approaches and methodologies.

Knowledge management practices and innovation: A deliberate innovation management model for SMEs

ABSTRACT We propose and test a deliberate innovation management model for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) reconciling the “cognition-action” logic underlying the knowledge management and innovation literature and the “intention-action” logic underlying Mintzberg and Waters’s deliberate strategy perspective. Consistent with a proposed “cognition-intention-action” logic, the empirical results from a sample of 633 Dutch SMEs support our predictions. SMEs that deliberately scan external information (via external knowledge acquisition practices) and distribute, interpret, and create internal knowledge (via internal knowledge-sharing practices) are more likely to enhance their innovation orientation and in turn, their innovation performance. Our study advances current understanding of innovation management, including the role of both external and internal knowledge management (KM) practices and also the value of considering innovation orientation in the overall innovation process. Our findings also offer some practical implications for SMEs to enhance their innovation ability.

A Cultural Heritage Low Entropy Enhancement Approach: An Ex Post Evaluation of Creative Practices

According to the current European and Italian scenario related to urban regeneration, cultural and landscape heritage valorization is being enhanced by the activation of innovative processes and new emerging approaches. These involve the development of methodologies and tools that can address decision-making processes based on creative practices consistent with a concept named “low-entropy economy” in this paper. The low-entropy economy represents an economic approach based on the minimization of physical urban transformation and the enhancement of the existing heritage. In this perspective, the research aims to develop the Cultural Heritage Low Entropy Enhancement (CHLEE) approach by exploring how some frugal experiences have promoted cultural heritage enhancement and related complex values through a program of temporary uses and activities able to produce new values, where the human experience is essential. A crucial role is represented by the heterogeneity of creative practices that contribute to identifying and implementing innovative management and governance models. The analysis of creative practices, based upon the ex post evaluation of some Italian case studies across the PROMETHEE-GAIA multicriteria method, is able to show how these experiences build innovation ecosystems and improve the ex ante evaluation for new strategies and policies, underlining strengths, weaknesses, and milestones that shape creative experiences as drivers of urban competitiveness.

System contributions of residential battery systems: New perspectives on PV self-consumption

France aims to boost the share of solar power generation in its electricity mix by 2030. When PV self-consumption systems become economically competitive, end-users will be willing to switch to PV self-consumption instead of using power from the grid. However, high penetration of distributed solar PV provokes a significant impact on the stability of electricity. The major systemic issues concern seasonal back-up power system associated with variable PV integration. Policymakers thus need to work on systemic solutions (e.g. load management, peak shaving) to support the large-scale integration of variable solar power. In this regards, this study aims to propose an innovative load management model based on the secondary application of residential batteries already installed for PV self-consumption. We performed a prospective economic analysis to identify potential system contribution of French residential PV-battery systems in 2030. The aim is to reduce systemic impact of distributed solar PV system integration thanks to collective use of distributed residential batteries for load management when they are not in use in winter. A sensitivity analysis has been conducted based on different projections of residential PV self-consumption in 2030 (RTE, Enedis). Our study then concludes with key messages and policy recommendations.

Tourism Marketing Innovation Management Model Based on Big Data

The competition among the tourism industry in my country is very fierce. The emergence of big data provides new opportunities for the development of the tourism industry. The tourism industry uses data mining and cloud computing technology to filter out valuable data from massive amounts of information. This function It provides the possibility to develop an innovative management model of tourism marketing based on big data. This paper conducts research on big data technology, combines big data with tourism marketing management mode, and proposes an innovative management mode of tourism marketing based on big data. This innovative management mode can effectively mine and intelligently analyze the data of tourism users, so as to develop a personalized marketing plan. The research results show that the tourism marketing innovation management model based on big data improves the accuracy of customer demand judgment by 25.7%, improves the core competitiveness of tourism enterprises, and promotes the development of the tourism industry.

PROSPECTS OF INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF LIFE SAFETY

The relevance of the research is determined by the fact that in the current conditions economic, technological, social, cultural, and religious competition between states becomes increasingly acute. Global threats are constantly increasing which proves the need for international cooperation in this area – right now many countries around the world are working together to reduce the threat of a large-scale epidemic of acute respiratory infection. New challenges of global scale are emerging, and there are still risks of natural, man-made, bio-social, and other catastrophes that could lead to global crisis situations, which requires Russia to strengthen its role in this area. The article is devoted to the problems of selecting prospects for national innovation and technological strategies that allow giving a new impetus to international humanitarian cooperation and emergency humanitarian response. The main aspect of methodological and legal bases of innovative management in international economic cooperation is the implementation of interrelated measures that provide large-scale assistance in areas of major disasters. Materials and publications of domestic and foreign experts working in the humanitarian field were used as sources in this analysis. The main purpose of the research is to substantiate the prospects for innovative management of international cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and in the field of disaster risk reduction. In accordance with the stated purpose of the study, the key tasks of substantiating the organizational foundations for the formation of an integrated system of international emergency humanitarian response, creating a new economic model of innovative management of international cooperation in the humanitarian field in order to increase economic security were solved. The methodological foundations of the research provide for the theory of constructing a new system of economic interstate humanitarian interaction. As a result of the research, the prospective directions of international economic cooperation and humanitarian cooperation, identified on the basis of a specific historical analysis of the development of such interaction, are analyzed. The article analyzes not only theьstages of building an international humanitarian response system with different countries, but also the experience of creating institutional joint organizations in the field of ensuring life safety at the international level. On this basis, a modern economic model of innovative management of international humanitarian aid is proposed, which meets the principles and spirit of international law. Practical recommendations for increasing the importance of the Russian Federation in the international system of emergency humanitarian response are substantiated. We have developed proposals that will allow our country to make a technological breakthrough in the international humanitarian sphere. The results of the research can be applied in the formation and implementation of the national international policy of humanitarian cooperation in the field of life safety.

The article considers the features of innovative resource management and economic security of the enterprise in a competitive environment. In carrying out the study methods were used: systematization – to describe the features of the impact of the competitive environment; construction of substantive models – for the proposed model of innovative resource management and economic security of the enterprise; generalization – to form the conclusions of the study. The purpose of the article is to define the theoretical aspects of resource supply and economic security innovation management taking into account the competitive environment. The theoretical aspects of the relationship between the basic definitions of innovative resource management and economic security. It is proposed to take into account the conditions, challenges and threats of a competitive environment in the formation of innovative resource management mechanism and economic security enterprise. The investment model of innovative management of resources and economic security of the enterprise in a competitive environment is constructed and described. The elements of the proposed model are discussed in detail. The goals of the content model is: increasing profitability of the company, providing an effective use of resources, providing a rational level of protection of investment interests. The tools for achieving these goals in the model are described: the use of attracted capital, investment assets, diversification of investment capital, digitalization tools, capitalization of intellectual property, re-engineering of investment processes. The structural and logical links of the investment model of innovative resource management and economic security of the enterprise in a competitive environment are characterized. The proposed investment model of innovative resource management and economic security of the enterprise needs to be implemented in the overall system of management and optimization of economic security systems and resource management of the enterprise. Subsequent research should be directed towards the implementation of the proposed model into the practical operations of enterprises.

Adaptation of an innovation management model in biotechnology, the influence of the innovation system and the institutional factors: case of INNBIO - Universidad de Concepción, Chile

This article aims to understand the way the innovation management model of a biotechnology centre (INNBIO), which belongs to a regional university in a developing country, adapts through time to the influence of institutional factors. Evidence provides the academic world with a new view on how an innovation management model adapts. It was gathered in an original, yet rigorous, way by applying mixed research strategies with a qualitative approach. The former allowed to analyse INNBIO from the inside, as well as to observe the way interactions between internal and external institutions that make up an innovation system are established. Main results show a bigger influence of the national innovation system compared to the local one and a strong influence of internal institutional factors such as: quality in the information of projects, focus on the relationship with researchers, and the challenge of creating and managing a research team.

Towards an ambidextrous innovation management maturity model

Digtalization is leading to wide-ranging changes for the economy and is considered as one of the main drivers of innovation. Ever-shorter innovation cycles, high volatility and increased cost pressure are just some of the effects that companies have to face as a result of digitalization. In order to remain competitive in the long term, companies not only have to continuously develop existing products and services, but also exploit the innovation potential of new technologies. This poses new challenges for innovation management, since the company must work on the development of radical or even disruptive innovations in addition to the popular development of incremental innovations. The simultaneous promotion of incremental and radical innovations is also known as ambidexterity. The development of incremental innovations has been established for years in most companies. However, many companies do not have the required know-how about the development of radical innovations and the realization of ambidexterity. One important step on the way to an ambidextrous innovation management is the analysis of the initial situation in the company. Often there is uncertainty about which areas and tasks have to be considered and should be designed in the sense of ambidexterity. Therefore, this paper develops a maturity model for an ambidextrous innovation management. For this purpose, a systematic literature analysis of existing maturity models in innovation management will be conducted and its understanding of innovation will be compared. Since most maturity models do not explicitly differentiate between radical innovations or primarily consider incremental innovations, requirements for the innovation management of radical innovations and ambidexterity were derived in the course of a further systematic literature analysis. Based on this database, a maturity model for an ambidextrous innovation management could be derived, which is subdivided into 26 tasks with 5 different levels each.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ІННОВАЦІЙНОГО СТРАТЕГІЧНОГО УПРАВЛІННЯ ПІДПРИЄМСТВАМИ ПІД ЧАС ПАНДЕМІЇ COVID-19

The article considers the features of innovative strategic management of enterprises during the pandemic COVID-19. The critical analysis of scientific works on the outlined problems is investigated and it is revealed not to open questions concerning a crisis situation of the enterprises which have been caused by quarantine. At the same time, the issues related to the features and specifics of the formation of innovative strategic management in times of crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic for the formation and selection of solutions in enterprises are studied at a low level. The concept of strategy and innovative strategic management and strategic planning is revealed. Peculiarities and principles of strategic planning that characterize the management structure and production and technical base of the enterprise are determined. The main stages of management processes of the enterprise on the basis of which the basic elements of the innovative vision of a problem of the enterprises were presented are investigated. It is innovative thinking and is a promising solution for the formation of strategic management during quarantine. Strategic management in the article is considered as a set of five interrelated management processes and related typical actions. The forms of strategy implementation and strategic control are determined. The model of innovative strategic management of the enterprise is developed. The basis of the offered model is the thorough analysis of activity of the enterprise, namely: potential of the enterprise in a cut of its components, the strategic analysis. It is mandatory to take into account environmental factors, the impact of which on the activities of the enterprise is variable and unstable. Recommendations for strategic management of enterprises during the crisis caused by Covid-19 have been formed. Namely, the two most expedient and possible for the implementation of innovative management strategies were noted: the strategy is related to the development of the transportation system; the strategy is aimed at developing the production and technical base and personnel.

Human Elements of Chineese-Style Innovation Beyond the Knowledge-based Economic Transformation

China has been building globally one of the most powerful knowledge and innovation-based economies. The country’s main strategic goals were becoming a superpower with efficient economy that was able to minimise the object poverty and transform the country into upper-mid class income, economicaly developed region. According to the traditional Chineese maxim: “strong nation is a rich nation”, that used to be regarded as a tool holding the leading position around the world. The investments, realised by the private companies were encouraged in many cases by governmental initiatives as well. China has continually transformed the elements of its innovation strategy and refined them in the global direction of innovation. Despite of the growing literature on Chinese innovation, consensus as to a unique model of Chinese innovation management has yet to emerge. In this context, one of the most crucial but less discussed aspect can be the engagement of the well-educatated, experienced high quality labor work force in China. During the last decades you can observe a significant shifting toward the previous, cheap and huge amount labor workforce corporate attitude toward attracting and managing talents, providing Chineese manner “tailor made” onboarding and personal and professional development of the adequately recruited and selected labor workforce, eliminating the labor turnover but on different way compared to the Western countries methods. This review paper is aiming to reveal the specific features of Chineese-style Human Resource Management (HRM) practice linked with the Chineese traditions and cultural values.

The research on the transition of green agriculture to the industrialization path of supply-side reform

Under the background of the steady progress of the structural reform of the agricultural supply side, the rural ecological agriculture in the transition stage is faced with a series of bottlenecks and problems such as the lag of production technology renewal, the single management mechanism and the aggravation of environmental degradation. It is difficult to effectively form a new form of green, coordinated and sustainable development. Therefore, we should make full use of the favorable conditions such as policy support and institutional guarantee given by the structural reform of the agricultural supply side, and introduce efficient and innovative production and management models around the industrial upgrading, so as to promote the low-carbon, intensive and diversified transformation of the existing ecological agriculture operation system.

Innovation-oriented resource management model proposed on the basis of the methodology of economic assessment of resource capabilities of oil and gas industry contractors

The paper presents an innovation-oriented model of resource management, which was built on the basis of the methodology of economic assessment of resource capabilities of contracting companies of the oil and gas industry. Assessment and choice of resource capabilities of contracting companies is the most important scientific problem of large companies and enterprises of the oil and gas industry when purchasing material resources. Currently, the increase in the supply of the same type of resources exacerbates the problem of choice. Thus, a large number of algorithms, methods and other procedures were developed to select organizations that supply resources. However, there are not enough comprehensive tools to assess the feasibility of selecting a supplier taking into account factors that allow evaluating suppliers of a certain industry. The purpose of the study is to create an innovative resource management model based on the methodology of economic justification for choosing resource suppliers for oil and gas enterprises. The object of the study is enterprises and large companies of the oil and gas industry. The subject of the study is effective resource management based on the methodology of economic assessment of the resource capabilities of contracting companies.

An Innovative Case Management and Immigrant Onboarding Model Developed by the Sharewood Project in Massachu.

The Sharewood Project, a student-run free project developed by Tufts University School of Medicine students in 1997, provides limited medical care and social services to a diverse population in Malden, Massachusetts. The project plays an unusual role in introducing immigrants to the health care and education systems in Massachusetts.
