Innovative Exploration of Integrating Chinese Traditional Culture into University Curriculum Systems

Traditional Music, Dance and House Dance, The Way of Integrating Small Idols - Take LoveLive As an Example

LoveLive is a Japanese Secondary idol project. LoveLive has become one of the most popular works of the second dimension culture in Japan and the whole Asia region. It depicts the wonderful course of 9 young and beautiful girls joining hands to form an idol group. Through the small idol’s wonderful performance and smart and beautiful dance, it cleverly presented the mutual integration and fierce collision between traditional dance, small idol culture and otaku dance. In the form of a questionnaire, this study conducted an in-depth survey of people of different ages’ familiarity with and cognition of house dance and small idols, and also explored their views and opinions on the impact of house dance and traditional music and dance. This article ultimately found that combining elements from home dance with traditional music and dance has a great development in the inheritance of traditional culture, and many young people have increased their understanding and love for traditional culture through this approach.

Cultural Sustainable Development Strategies of Chinese Traditional Furniture: Taking Ming-Style Furniture for Example

In view of the gradual decline and near-stagnant crisis of traditional furniture art from the late Qing Dynasty, the article studied the cultural sustainable strategies of Chinese traditional furniture represented by Ming-style furniture, hoping to promote the revitalization of traditional furniture and good inheritance of traditional culture in modern society. Based on the theory of “Methodology of Affairs”, the article proposes that the sustainable strategies of traditional furniture can be understood as a correlation system under the joint action of “internal factors” (shape, function, technology, etc., of furniture) and “external factors” (social environment, economic environment, humanistic environment, etc., in which furniture develops). Starting from the two aspects, the article finally analyzed the improved translation of internal factors in five parts: shape and function, structure and connection, material and process, color and furnishing, decoration and aesthetics, and studied the adaptive changes in external factors from five dimensions: politics, economy, culture, society, and users. The article hopes to help this endangered Chinese traditional furniture art develop in a sustainable direction, and also provide a reference for scholars working in the field of the inheritance and development of traditional culture.

The impact and spatial spillover effect of traditional culture on urban green innovation: Empirical evidence from China

The issues of resource scarcity and environmental pollution has become huge challenges that all of humanity faces together. To resolve the issue, promoting urban green innovation capacity is important. This study uses 189 prefecture-level cities and above in China from 2011 to 2020 as samples, and empirically test the impact and spatial spillover effect of traditional culture on urban green innovation. This study finds that: (1) Traditional culture can improve the local green innovation and positively impact the green innovation in neighboring cities by radiation effect, and the conclusion remains valid after robustness tests; (2) Talent flow and data flow negatively moderate the positive impact of traditional culture on green innovation in local cities. In addition, from a dynamic perspective, traditional culture has a negative impact on green innovation in neighboring cities because of the siphon effect; (3) The spatial spillover effect of traditional culture on urban green innovation shows distinct heterogeneity due to the different regions and whether it is a low-carbon pilot city. This study verifies the important value of Chinese traditional culture in urban sustainable development, which is of great significance for the protection and inheritance of traditional culture and the improvement of urban green innovation.

Research on the brand design and cultural tourism development of Chinese minority festivals from the perspective of ritual theory

Under the background of the current national unity and the integration of culture and tourism, this paper deeply explores the development dilemma of ethnic minority festival activities, reveals the dynamic relationship between ethnic minority festival activities and social structure, and then identifies the root causes of its development dilemma, and seeks to promote its contemporary inheritance and development through brand design. Using literature analysis and theoretical analysis, this paper systematically combs the historical evolution, current situation and challenges of ethnic minority festival activities. Especially in the perspective of ritual theory, in-depth analysis of the cultural connotation and social function of national festivals, as well as its adaptation and change in contemporary social changes. The study found that due to the changes in the social structure, the fracture of cultural heritage and the intensification of external competition, the current ethnic minority festival activities are facing problems such as insufficient inheritance, low popularity and weakening of festival activities. By creating a festival brand with local characteristics and cultural connotation, it can stimulate national pride and cultural identity, promote the integration and development of national unity and cultural tourism industry, reconstruct the social foundation of ethnic festival activities, and enhance their cultural value and market influence. Therefore, we should actively explore and practice the application of brand design in ethnic minority festivals, and make positive contributions to the protection and inheritance of traditional culture of ethnic minorities.

Quantitative analysis of spatial gene in traditional villages: a case study of Korean traditional villages in Northeast China

ABSTRACT Traditional villages possess distinct regional cultural traits and serve as a concrete manifestation and inheritance of traditional culture. In today’s era, where the preservation of traditional villages is emphasized, the study of Korean traditional villages in Northeast China, with their ethnic culture and unique spatial patterns, becomes significantly important. In this paper, we adopt the spatial gene perspective and establish a framework for analyzing spatial genes in traditional villages. Based on frequency analysis of qualitative data obtained from NVivo 14, 16 spatial gene entries were identified. Village spatial gene entries were quantified using ArcGIS, FRAGSTATS and other software. Additionally, 47 spatial gene fragments were extracted using the natural breaks method. Spatial gene sequences were mined using Spearman correlation analysis, and spatial gene maps were created. The study results indicate that: (1) the primary genes of traditional Korean villages include close to mountain, close to water, globular boundary, low integration road, etc. (2) There are significant correlations between spatial genes such as distance from mountains, mountain coverage and road integration, water coverage and boundary shape index. (3) Plain, mountain, and hill-type villages differ in characteristics such as road linear density, water coverage, and courtyard type.

Traditional culture of settlements associated with the natural environment: the case of Yi minority Southwest China

ABSTRACT Traditional culture of settlement is an important medium to record the process of balance between human and nature, and it was passed down from generation to generation in different forms (e.g. sacrificial culture, social structure, belief worship). With the intensification of global multicultural integration, the integration relationship between culture and nature has become an important approach for the protection and inheritance of traditional culture. Now, the relationship between artistic creation and ecological environment has been extensively studied. The scientific consensus regarding the influence of ecological environment on artistic creation has gained widespread recognition. Nevertheless, previous research neglects the relationship of traditional culture and natural environment, as well as different spatial characteristics, which are closely related to agricultural production and living. Based on the in-depth investigation of 23 traditional settlements of Yi minority in Southwest China, this paper conducted spatial analysis based on aerial photography, satellite maps and field investigation to analyze the relationship of culture-environment-space. Our results showed that there are significant differences in settlement space (e.g. landscape pattern, landscape space, architectural form) of Yi minority distributed in different areas. Under the same cultural background, the dispersed layout appears in Liangshan with high altitude and cold climate; the mountain foot layout appears in Central Yunnan and Northwest Guizhou with flat terrain and mild climate; the centralized layout appears in Honghe with narrow valleys and hot climate. These results shows that traditional culture comes from the natural environment, and the settlement space built under the guidance of the traditional culture must be in harmony with the natural environment. Therefore, protecting the traditional culture plays an important role in the sustainable development of urban and rural settlements. In addition, our findings may serve to inheritance and protection of traditional culture in other area all over the world.

An analysis of the development path of ethnic villages under the protection of traditional Jiarong culture

Most of the villages in the north-west ethnic areas of Sichuan are located within a culturally rich zone. However, during the process of village modernization, the protection and inheritance of traditional culture are often overlooked. This study has investigated the construction techniques and spatial components of traditional villages in Lixian, Sichuan Province, from the perspective of cultural inheritance. It analyzes and synthesizes representative design language and proposes a design concept that combines spatial perspective and cultural inheritance to conduct research on design paths aimed at strengthening functional positioning, optimizing spatial layout, improving village style, and improving infrastructure. The objective is to establish a research path to maintain the village-style during post-disaster process reconstruction and village development, thus protecting the unique local architectural culture and achieving comprehensive village development. In addition, we explored issues such as the lack of architectural style and the lagging development of human settlements, aiming to promote rural revitalization and integrated urban-rural development in this area.

The Extraction of Roof Feature Lines of Traditional Chinese Village Buildings Based on UAV Dense Matching Point Clouds

Traditional Chinese buildings serve as a carrier for the inheritance of traditional culture and national characteristics. In the context of rural revitalization, achieving the 3D reconstruction of traditional village buildings is a crucial technical approach to promoting rural planning, improving living environments, and establishing digital villages. However, traditional algorithms primarily target urban buildings, exhibiting limited adaptability and less ideal feature extraction performance for traditional residential buildings. As a result, guaranteeing the accuracy and reliability of 3D models for different types of traditional buildings remains challenging. In this paper, taking Jingping Village in Western Hunan as an example, we propose a method that combines multiple algorithms based on the slope segmentation of the roof to extract feature lines. Firstly, the VDVI and CSF algorithms are used to extract the building and roof point clouds based on the MVS point cloud. Secondly, according to roof features, village buildings are classified, and a 3D roof point cloud is projected into 2D regular grid data. Finally, the roof slope is segmented via slope direction, and internal and external feature lines are obtained after refinement through Canny edge detection and Hough straight line detection. The results indicate that the CSF algorithm can effectively extract the roofs of I-shaped, L-shaped, and U-shaped traditional buildings. The accuracy of roof surface segmentation based on slope exceeds 99.6%, which is significantly better than the RANSAC algorithm and the region segmentation algorithm. This method is capable of efficiently extracting the characteristic lines of roofs in low-rise buildings within traditional villages. It provides a reference method for achieving the high-precision modeling of traditional village architecture at a low cost and with high efficiency.

Research on the Logical Direction of Traditional Culture Inheritance and Promotion in the Internet Era

Abstract China’s traditional cultural heritage is facing serious challenges under the impact of modern culture. The somatosensory interaction gestures for cultural relics are designed using the Kinect somatosensory interaction model in this paper. The appearance of virtual cultural relics can be designed and realized using a three-dimensional coordinate system. Combined with the method of digital projection, the interaction projection generated by the Kinect somatic interaction model is corrected by the geometric correction method, and the edge fusion algorithm is applied to correct and fuse the edges of the corrected virtual artifact appearance. Testing the effects of cultural inheritance and promotion in the 38 regions of the application is carried out through the application of the cultural relics interaction. According to the findings, the highest score for traditional culture inheritance among the 38 regions is 28.36, and four regions have inheritance scores above 20 points. In traditional culture promotion, the highest score region is close to 12 points, and the heritage interaction experience can make users feel the inherent culture of the heritage, which has a positive effect on traditional culture inheritance and promotion.

The significance and value of living and regionalizing the aesthetic education curriculum on the topic of Jing Chu culture

Abstract This study explores the significance and value of the living and regionalization of Jing-Chu culture in the aesthetic education curriculum, strengthens the combination of regional cultural characteristics and modern aesthetic education, and explores the new value and direction of cultural education in contemporary times. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, we study Jing Chu culture’s aesthetic education function and digital transformation. We use questionnaire survey, experimental analysis and literature research methods to focus on the aesthetic education elements of Jing-Chu culture and its application in modern education. Elements such as myths, sorcery, and Chu Rhetoric in Jing and Chu culture have a new vitality in the digital environment. Through the questionnaire analysis of 50 art majors, it was found that 90% of the students believed that the elements of Jing-Chu culture enriched their artistic creation and aesthetic experience, and the application of Jing-Chu cultural primitives in the digital teaching environment significantly enhanced the students’ sense of identification with the culture and their motivation to create. The living and regionalization of Jing Chu culture not only enriches the connotation of the aesthetic education curriculum, but also provides new ideas for the inheritance of traditional culture. Art educators are encouraged to dig deeper into the value of Jing Chu culture to bring innovation and vitality to the contemporary aesthetic education curriculum.
