This study discusses the causes of English learning anxiety among these students within the context of information technology and proposes strategies to mitigate it. Highlighting a significant negative correlation between learning strategies and language anxiety, the research underscores the importance of metacognitive, cognitive, affective, and social strategies in creating effective and anxiety-reducing learning environments.

Cyber Law and The Dark Web: Regulating Hidden Markets

This research paper examines the intricate relationship between cyber law and the dark web, focusing on the challenges of regulating hidden markets that facilitate illicit activities. The dark web, characterized by its anonymity and accessibility, has become a hub for criminal enterprises such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the sale of illegal goods. In India, a significant portion of the youth population-one of the highest in the world-actively engages with social media, online businesses, and digital transactions, making them a major demographic among dark web users. This interaction poses unique challenges for the Indian economy and business landscape, as it intertwines legitimate online activity with illicit behavior. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of existing legal frameworks, particularly within the context of India's Information Technology Act while also considering international conventions like Budapest Convention. Through a thorough literature review and analysis of current case studies, the paper highlights the limitations and gaps in existing laws that hinder effective regulation of dark web markets. Ultimately, this paper advocates for comprehensive legal reforms and innovative regulatory strategies to better address the complexities of the dark web, ensuring the protection of public safety and the integrity of digital commerce, while mitigating the economic risks associated with youth engagement in these illicit activities.

Cross-domain autonomous driving visual segmentation based on enhanced target data learning

Within the broader context of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), the quest for reliable and scalable visual segmentation methods poses significant challenges, particularly in autonomous driving, where real-world scene complexity requires advanced solutions. To address data scarcity and improve segmentation performance, we propose a novel unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) approach that enhances target domain learning. Our method introduces multiple perturbations consistency, leveraging spatial context within the target domain to improve recognition. By applying perturbations at input and feature levels and using a consistency loss, we enhance contextual learning. Additionally, a weight mapping technique reduces the impact of detrimental source domain information. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach outperforms baseline methods on the GTAV→Cityscapes and SYNTHIA→Cityscapes datasets.

Information Technology Governance Design in Trading Companies Using the COBIT 2019 Framework

Effective information technology (IT) governance is very important for trading companies in managing their information assets well. The COBIT 2019 has been recognized as an international standard for IT governance that helps organizations achieve their strategic goals through the implementation of structured practices and processes. This research aims to design an IT governance framework based on COBIT 2019, especially for trading companies. The research methodology uses a case study approach by analyzing the unique needs and characteristics of trading companies in the IT context. The result is a design that is tailored to the needs and challenges faced by trading companies, including aspects of information security which are crucial in today's digital era. This research contributes to IT practitioners and senior managers to understand the practical and effective implementation of COBIT 2019 in improving IT governance in trading companies. By using COBIT 2019, trading companies can optimize the management of their information assets while ensuring regulatory compliance and increasing stakeholder trust.

The usefulness of two well-known approaches, IMARD and IMGSIE, is compared in this paper within the context of information technology (IT) domains. Techniques are essential for organizing project workflows, improving productivity, and producing the intended results. IMARD, which comprises phases like Introduction, Method, Analysis, Results, and Discussion, is widely used in scientific academic papers and professional research to guarantee methodical problem-solving. On the other hand, IMGSIE methodology which consists of phases Introduction, Method, Generalization, Specification, Implementation, and Evaluation—has become more popular in technical and IT engineering projects. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the relative merits and demerits of different approaches in IT-related projects, taking into account variables like project and papers success rates, difficulties in implementation, and overall project management effectiveness. Discussion of case studies of IT projects that use both approaches offers practical insights into their efficacy. Key findings indicate that IMGSIE is more appropriate for graduation it projects needing iterative refinement and flexibility, even though IMARD offers a systematic and complete approach. Questionnaire was distributed to supervisors who used the IMARD and PPDIOO methodologies to evaluate its quality and effectiveness. The most important differences between the methodologies have also been identified, as well as where and when each method is used. In unraveling the profound connections between humans and place, the traditional concept of the sense of place takes on new dimensions in the digital era. This study contributes to a nuanced understanding by integrating digital and physical spaces within the context of information and communication technology (ICT). Beginning with a review of historical changes and debates surrounding the sense of place, the research establishes a foundation for understanding the evolving relationship with the place. Building on this, the study explores the intricate interplay between digital media and place, revealing how advancements in digital technology shape perceptions of the sense of place. Beyond analysis, the study introduces a three-dimensional framework for the sense of place (i.e., physical sense of place, digital sense of place, and hybrid sense of place), recognizing the dynamic relationship between individuals and their environment, incorporating the digital dimension. Firmly grounded in the perspective of relationships, this framework captures multifaceted connections individuals establish with both physical and digital spaces. Finally, the research explores practical applications of this reconceptualized sense of place. This research deepens the current understanding of the complex dynamics in constructing places in contemporary society, where digital and physical realms intertwine. This research serves as a crucial steppingstone for comprehending the evolving dynamics of the sense of place in the digital era, presenting a refined framework that captures the complex relationships between individuals, technology, and the places they inhabit.

Application Status and Prospect of Data Privacy Protection Technology

This article aims to explore the current application status and future prospects of data privacy protection technology, analyze the challenges faced by current data privacy, explore possible solutions, and provide reference and inspiration for the development of data privacy protection technology. This article adopts literature review and experience summary methods. Through sorting and summarizing relevant literature, combined with the author's own experience in the field of data privacy protection, a comprehensive and in-depth analysis is conducted on the current application status of data privacy protection technology. Through literature review and experience summary, we found that current data privacy protection technologies have made significant progress with the rapid development of information technology. Among them, the research and application of data encryption technology based on encryption algorithms, privacy protection protocols, and privacy protection tools have gradually matured data privacy protection technology. At the same time, the frequent occurrence of data privacy breaches also highlights the importance and urgency of data privacy protection technology. Data privacy protection technology is particularly important in the current context of information technology in society. In the future, with the continuous development of technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence, data privacy protection technology will face greater challenges and opportunities.

Data sources include peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, selected based on criteria that ensure relevance and timeliness to the current IT context. Key findings reveal the critical need for anticipating technological trends to align workforce capabilities with future demands, highlighting the significance of personalized and experiential learning pathways. The study emphasizes the strategic role of upskilling in bridging the digital divide, advocating for inclusive and accessible learning opportunities to cultivate a diverse and globally competitive workforce. Recommendations for stakeholders center around adopting flexible learning models, fostering industry-academia partnerships, and emphasizing the development of both technical and soft skills. Finally, the study underscores the imperative for a proactive and collaborative approach to IT education and workforce development. How Information Technology (IT) Is Shaping Consumer Behavior in the Digital Age: A Systematic Review and Future Research Directions

The success of modern businesses hinges on their capability to recognize and explore emerging patterns in consumer behavior within the context of information technology (IT). While the study of consumer behavior has made notable progress, there remains a need to study the convergence between IT and consumer behavior to discover new prospects and insights that can improve business performance. Therefore, conducting a thorough study to evaluate the current state of research in this area is imperative. This endeavor can accumulate and map current research, extending knowledge and good practices for businesses and stakeholders. This study studied the intersection of IT and consumer behavior using the systematic literature review (SLR) approach and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines. The primary objective was to review the comprehensiveness of systematic review reports and meta-analysis studies in journals indexed with the SSCI and SCIE categories of the Web of Science. After applying the PRISMA approach, a sample of 40 eligible articles was finalized for further review. It identified four critical themes related to research: technological diffusion, disruptive consumer behavior, IT and consumer behavior, and the impact of IT on consumer behavior. The study’s results deliver practical implications for businesses and stakeholders and contribute to progressing knowledge in this domain.

Data structure and privacy protection analysis in big data environment based on blockchain technology

In today's digital world, the rapid advancement of Information Technology (IT) has made it crucial to prioritize the protection and management of data storage and retrieval. It is vital to challenge the difficulties related to dispersed and decentralized data to build strong mechanisms for access control and provide effective authorization and authentication in data processing. In the contemporary context of IT, the imperative to secure data storage and retrieval has become distinctly observed. The challenges posed by distributed and decentralized data demand the development of robust mechanisms for access control, demanding a focus on proper authorization and authentication in transaction processing. This research addresses the existing gap by comprehensively adapting data structures effectively to the evolving needs of secure access and storage control. It uses the Enhanced Merkle Tree (EMT) as a novel data structure. This article initially modifies the conventional Merkle Tree (MT) structure used in Blockchain technology to suit e-healthcare Systems (e-HS) requirements. The EMT enhances data security in access and storage and significantly improves data integrity management. Its constant three-degree MT with multiple leaves, branches, and a single root node enables updated data authentication, verification, and validation procedures. The proposed method is applied to the e-HS scenario, and the proposed EMT outperforms existing state-of-the-art techniques, achieving a minimal verification time of 14.26 m for 100 transactions. This research, therefore, contributes to the discourse on data security by presenting an innovative and efficient solution tailored to the unique challenges of e-health systems.

Artificial Intelligence as a Socio-Cultural Phenomenon: the Educational Dimension

Purpose. The study aims to understand artificial intelligence as a socio-cultural phenomenon and its impact on education, where the spiritual sphere of humanity, moral norms, values, and human cognitive abilities are preserved, transferred as well as reproduced. A new discourse on the interaction of artificial and authentic human intelligence becomes inevitable, which has led to a situation of uncertainty. Changes in the socio-cultural environment under the influence of artificial intelligence increase potential threats to the educational space, which stimulates to find the ways to eliminate them. Theoretical basis. Various approaches of classical and postmodern philosophical heritage were taken as a theoretical basis for the research. The originality of the study is in the interpretation of artificial intelligence as a modern form of alienation of essential human characteristics in the socio-cultural context of information technology. The expansion of artificial intelligence raises awareness of the existential threat to the basic socio-cultural, moral and ethical principles of humanism. It is proved that various forms of alienation in the current existing socio-cultural space are typical of our reality, which changes the system of values, moral principles, and social organization of the community. Conclusions. In conclusion, it is proved that AI is a natural stage of scientific and technological progress, which reflects its secondary, derivative nature from human (authentic) intelligence. Human intelligence will always have advantages over AI due to its ability to create, communicate socially and culturally, and be emotional. The dilemma of the counterbalance between human and artificial intelligence is perceived mainly at the emotional level of people. The millennial understanding of the primacy of the creator over his creation can traditionally overcome this contradiction. The universality of human thinking is an undeniable advantage of human intelligence and a guarantee of its, i.e. our, priority.

A Novel Heterogenous Dominant Sequence Clustering for Task Scheduling and Optimal Load Balancing Using JSO in Cloud

Cloud computing (CC) is rapidly increasing and being used more and more in information technology (IT) contexts. Among the hottest issues in the world of CC is task scheduling. In cloud datacentres, load balancing is accomplished using a variety of scheduling techniques, although lengthening the parallel time. By taking task duration and VM capacity into account, this study proposes a cluster-based task scheduling paradigm. The makespan and execution duration should be reduced, the suggested system engages in dynamic load balancing. In this study, we suggest a unique method called HDDSC-JSO, which employs the Jellyfish Swarm Optimization (JSO) algorithm for load balancing and heterogeneous Density based dominant sequence clustering (HDDSC) for job scheduling. Using the HDSC technique, It presents a graph of one or more groups representing user tasks, the tasks of users are first clustered. The Adapted Diverse Expeditious Termination Time (ADETT) method is used to score each work after task clustering. whenever the job with the greatest priority is scheduled first. Next, using a JSO algorithm, load balancing is carried out, distributing the load according to the weight and capacity of the server as well as the connection of the client to the server. Task allocation chooses a heavily weighted or unconnected server, lengthening the response time. Finally, measures including response time, makespan, resource consumption, and service dependability were used to assess the suggested architecture.

Determinants of customer satisfaction in a B2B IT context – A structural equation modeling approach

Customer satisfaction studies in a business-to-business (B2B) information technology (IT) industry have primarily focused on assessing satisfaction at the project level. However, software organizations are unique due to the complex nature of the supplier-customer relationships; therefore, the requirements of customers at the project and engagement levels are quite different and convoluted. This research identifies the determinants of customer satisfaction in an IT scenario, at an engagement level, and proposes a measurement instrument for the same. Furthermore, the relationships among the various determinants of customer satisfaction and their effect on overall customer satisfaction are investigated using the structural equation modeling (SEM) approach. The SEM model was tested for model fit and adequacy through various indices and measures, thereby confirming the theory behind the proposed model. The present research will help practitioners better understand the relationships among the various elements in customer satisfaction measurement and management in software organizations. This study is perhaps the first of its kind in applying the SEM approach for evaluating customer satisfaction in the B2B IT industry.

A holistic understanding of information and communication technology for development through context, resilience, and sustainability: Evidence from a local agriculture extension information service in Ethiopia

AbstractThere exists isolated work that focuses on context, resilience, and sustainability of information and communication technology for development (ICT4D). However, research on how the three concepts inform and influence one another to better meet the development goals and priorities is limited. More research is required to enhance our holistic understanding of ICT4D interventions in terms of the approaches applied to investigate context, resilience, and sustainability from socio‐technical perspectives. This research explores the link among the triple concepts to fill the above void, drawing from qualitative data collected from multiple but networked stakeholders at a local agriculture extension information service. Data is processed in a way to understand: the context of the local development practices and stakeholders, the gaps in the design of information systems applied to support local development practices, and how local communities remain resilient in their information exchange practices. Building on the existing knowledge of context, resilience, and sustainability in ICT4D the research shows how the context of the local development practices inform resilience and in turn how resilience enables the continued operation of the local development practices (context), and how context and resilience lead to sustainable ICT4D interventions. The research contributes to theory by showing how the social and technical resources distributed in the social system and the stakeholders' networks can be unlocked to conceptualize the links between the triple concepts. It informs practitioners on how they can develop a holistic understanding of the socio‐technical contexts of local developments and the socio‐technical factors to design resilient ICT4D that will lead to sustainable digital interventions.

Digital twin and IOT technology for secure manufacturing systems

The Digital Twin (DT) method offers new concepts for choosing the context of information technologies and smart production systems. This research focuses on low-price, extremely effective defect diagnosis methods, low-efficiency, high-cost devices to obtain timely feedback and accurate fault detection results, and secure manufacturing systems. The data structure, control plane, and output units are the three components of the manufacturing system that creates a data link between the virtual model using Micro-Electro-Mechanical (MEM) devices and the Zigbee wireless transmission system in the database layer. This study acquired DT information from the control plane using the Internet of Things (IoT) through sensors for secure manufacturing information. It separates and calls the pertinent data by the attribute processor and transfers it to the outcome units. To produce the classification and outcomes of work build features information, the evaluation method analysis the output nodes that split the test set and learning group using a dynamic database. The hybrid IoT with DT technology to examine the consequences of defects detected efficiently predicted and secures the manufacturing system.

Single-Sourcing Versus Multisourcing: An Empirical Analysis of Large Information Technology Outsourcing ArrangementsPolicy AbstractAs the information technology (IT) services landscape matures, clients are increasingly adopting multisourcing arrangements that involve multiple vendors. Although a large body of IS literature addresses issues of whether to outsource (to a single vendor), what types of contracts to use, and how to achieve optimal relational governance, little is known about the antecedents and consequents of the single versus multisourcing decision. Moreover, although conceptual and analytical models of single-sourcing versus multisourcing have been developed, there is no empirical IS research using a large-scale data set with rigorous econometric analysis that examines the antecedents and consequents of multisourcing in the IT context. This paper fills this void, using the transaction cost economic lens and a data set of 49,057 large IT outsourcing arrangements that spans multiple industries and dates back 25 years. For managers who plan to multisource IT outsourcing arrangements, this research provides guidance to minimize exchange hazards through a better understanding of the relationship between sourcing choice, client IT outsourcing capabilities, the competitiveness of the vendor landscape, and the number of IT services in an IT outsourcing arrangement. We provide empirical evidence that the choice between single-sourcing and multisourcing is material to the performance of outsourcing contracts, as an incorrect sourcing choice is likely to result in negative contract outcomes.

In the fluctuation and uncertainty of the business environment, especially with the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Enterprise risk management (ERM) has become increasingly significant for survival and growth of enterprises. However, empirical research on ERM and firm performance in information technology (IT) context has not been thoroughly studied. This study focuses on investigating a path model of ERM, IT structure, competitive advantage, and firm performance in Vietnam. Data is collected from 186 enterprises. Through PLS analysis, the findings show that both ERM and IT structure have significant positive impacts on firm’s competitive advantage. In turn, competitive advantage is an important factor for the performance of enterprises. The findings have suggested corporate governance implications regarding to focus on ERM and IT structures to enhance competitive advantage and firm performance.

The influences of three task characteristics on innovative use of malleable IT: An extension of adaptive structuration theory for individuals

Malleable information technology (IT) stands for contemporary mobile computing technologies, which are fluid and flexible and provide much room for users to engage in innovative use. We draw upon adaptive structuration theory for individuals (ASTI) to examine the influences of three task characteristics, namely two task environment factors of transformational leadership and innovation climate and the task process factor of work autonomy, on employees’ innovative use of malleable IT. We collected survey data from 315 frontline employees of 20 different companies across 5 industries in China that had implemented a mobile computing system for more than one year. The results indicate that transformational leadership exerts a positive influence on innovative use of malleable IT, and innovation climate mediates this positive influence. Work autonomy also has a positive influence on innovative use. A multiple group analysis based on gender further reveals that the two task environment factors of transformational leadership and innovation climate both exert stronger influences on female employees, while work autonomy, as a task process factor, has a stronger influence on male employees. Our study provides an extended interpretation of ASTI in the use context of malleable IT and offers practical implications for managers who seek to promote innovative use of malleable IT.

Analysis of current practice and future potentials of LCA in a BIM-based design process in Germany

The construction and building sector, responsible for 39% of global greenhouse gas emissions, is undergoing a fundamental digital transformation enabled by Building Information Modelling (BIM). Integrating life cycle assessment (LCA) in digital building design processes enables early evaluation of embodied impacts. This connection offers opportunities to generate predictive parameters to efficiently use environmental optimization potentials. The aim of this study was to investigate current barriers and incentives for practitioners to use LCA in combination with BIM in practice in Germany. Based on criteria identified in a systematic literature review, a survey amongst 161 practitioners is conducted, analysing five different user profiles. The evaluated criteria are added value, perception of relevance, intention, age, data availability, standardization, external demand and usability. The results present a recognised added value of integrating LCA in BIM from the perspective of all user profiles. Currently, measures in a political and social context have higher potentials, i. e. are more urgent to implement, than measures in the information technology context, whereas priorities vary depending on user profiles. The greatest drivers are external demand and pressure in forms of stricter political requirements and more demand from the public-sector. The presented insights, trends and need for action can support implementing procedures for achieving the urgent climate goals of the construction sector strategically through digital transformation.
