Viable System Model (VSM): A New Approach to Accounting Information System Development Model

This article discusses the potential for using the Viable System Model (VSM) as a new approach in developing accounting information systems. This article takes the form of a systematic literature review. The analysis was carried out using a comparative approach between the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC-Model) and the Viable System Model (VSM) in general and specifically in the field of accounting and accounting information systems. The SDLC is primarily focused on the development and management of software or systems, while the VSM is concerned with the broader understanding and management of complex organizations. Both concepts have their unique applications and are important in their respective domains. The results of the study show that the VSM has a more holistic approach in developing accounting information systems. The research results also show that VSM is more suitable for developing accounting information systems in organizations that are complex, flexible, and adaptive to the speed of change in the company’s ongoing organizational business environment. The VSM provides a framework for understanding how organizations and systems can adapt to changing environments and maintain viability. It is particularly useful for complex organizations that need to respond to dynamic conditions. Modeling Architecture with the TOGAF Framework to Support the Smart Village in Indonesia

In an agricultural nation like Indonesia, where villages are one of the key regions for economic growth, Jatisura Village in the Cikedung district of Indramayu has the potential to grow into a smart village. This is because Rosalia Food MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) that have sold their products to the Asian level and reputable communities like Situ Bolang as a tourist attraction both have potential in Jatisura village. Realizing smart village development is a program that requires cooperation from all parties since it is in line with the government's priority program, which is to construct Indonesia from the periphery to minimize the inequity between cities and rural areas. Therefore, a model of architecture that aligns with information technology architecture is required to implement the construction of smart villages. This study intended to build an architecture that aligns with information technology to facilitate the implementation of smart villages based on information and communication technology in Jatisura village, Indonesia's Indramayu regency. To promote digital inclusion and more excellent employment prospects, this study focuses on smart village architecture and methods leveraging ICT initiatives. The TOGAF framework was the foundation architectural concept used. The framework generated business and organizational architecture models, information system and technological architectures, and migration, implementation, and change management architectures. All these architectural models help carry out the process of constructing a smart village, enabling it to do so in a way that effectively carries out the vision and mission of the regency.

Services Integration in Tanzania e-Government Systems

The interoperability of information systems for public organizations is a significant opportunity for improved delivery of e-government services. However, the lack of e-government services integration is one of the issues preventing services from effectively reaching citizens in many developing nations, especially in this era of information technology advancement. Consequently, this paper aims to provide background information and a framework for comprehending the relevance of Tanzania's integration of e-government services. To understand the current state of the art and the prospects for system integration in government procedures, a thorough government institution Information Systems analysis was done to understand the magnitude of the problem. The survey revealed that the absence of electronic data exchange between public information systems leads to information system silos, which hinder efficiency and synergy in the provision of electronic services. A framework for e-government service integration is proposed utilizing a design science research approach to explain the possibilities of service integration in the public sector. The framework suggests harmonizing public institutions in e-government project plans, communicating e-government systems through a unified network, and establishing the e-government service catalog.

ANALYSIS OF DATA ORGANIZATION SYSTEM ARCHITECTURES OF THE SMART EUROPEAN REGION "CENTER OF EUROPE" BASED ON THE DATA LAKE TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTION

In the contemporary landscape of digital transformation, the concept of a "smart region" emerges as a key strategy for regional development, utilizing data integration technologies to enhance the quality of life, optimize service delivery, and promote sustainable growth. The designation of the "Centre of Europe" as a smart region is justified by its strategic geographical location, encompassing Transcarpathia and adjacent areas of neighboring countries, coupled with a relatively low population density. This unique context creates compelling premises for rethinking traditional urban frameworks of smart cities on a broader scale, transforming them into a comprehensive smart region model tailored to the specific needs and opportunities of Central Europe. The rationale for implementing the "Centre of Europe" as a smart region stems from its advantageous position at the heart of the continent, which generates unprecedented opportunities for cross-border collaboration, innovation, and connectivity. The low population density of the region further highlights the potential for the adoption of advanced technological solutions capable of addressing a wide array of challenges and needs. By achieving the status of a smart region, the "Centre of Europe" aspires to become a leading example of how digital and technological innovations can be utilized to create an inclusive, efficient, and progressive regional ecosystem. Objective: The primary objective of this research is to conduct a comparative analysis of advanced data organization system architectures and their role in facilitating the transformation of the "Centre of Europe" into an intelligent European region. It also aims to explore the capabilities of utilizing data lakes for the effective management of large data sets and regional development, taking into account the unique geographical and demographic characteristics of the region. The subject of the study encompasses the architectures of big data organization systems in the smart region of the "Centre of Europe". The object of the study involves the processes of storing and processing large data within the smart region. Main characteristics: This article illuminates the main aspects of implementing big data processing technologies in the smart region of the "Centre of Europe", necessitating scalable and flexible solutions for large data storage, the use of efficient data management practices, and the integration of advanced technologies such as cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance data processing and analytical capabilities. Furthermore, recommendations for regional authorities on adopting these technologies have been formulated, highlighting the importance of collaboration, support for investments in the region's digital infrastructure as key components for achieving the smart region vision. The construction of modern, high-tech data storage facilities using the Data Lake architecture enables the simultaneous use and processing of large volumes of data from various fields and sources. The authors have proposed conceptual models for forming data complexes from different functional areas of the smart region.

Hyperparameters optimization XGBoost for network intrusion detection using CSE-CIC-IDS 2018 dataset

<p>With the introduction of high-speed internet access, the demand for security and dependable networks has grown. In recent years, network attacks have gotten more complex and intense, making security a vital component of organizational information systems. Network intrusion detection systems (NIDS) have become an essential detection technology to protect data integrity and system availability against such attacks. NIDS is one of the most well-known areas of machine learning software in the security field, with machine learni ng algorithms constantly being developed to improve performance. This research focuses on detecting abnormalities in societal infiltration using the hyperparameters optimization XGBoost (HO-XGB) algorithm with the Communications Security Establishment-The Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity-Intrusion Detection System2018 (CSE-CIC-IDS2018) dataset to get the best potential results. When compared to typical machine learning methods published in the literature, HO-XGB outperforms them. The study shows that XGBoost outperforms other detection algorithms. We refined the HO-XGB model's hyperparameters, which included learning_rate, subsample, max_leaves, max_depth, gamma, colsample_bytree, min_child_weight, n_estimators, max_depth, and reg_alpha. The experimental findings reveal that HO-XGB1 outperforms multiple parameter settings for intrusion detection, effectively optimizing XGBoost's hyperparameters.</p>

Faktor-Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi Kinerja Organisasi Bawaslu Republik Indonesia

This research examines the factors that influence the performance of Bawaslu RI, namely using organizational culture variables, change management and information system success. This research uses descriptive analysis and the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)-Lisrel statistical method. Data was collected from questionnaires distributed and returned from 325 Bawaslu members in Indonesia as respondents. The results of the study show that organizational culture, change management and the success of information systems have a positive and significant effect on the performance of Bawaslu RI.

Facilitators and Barriers to Scaling-Up Integrated Care for Arterial Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes in Slovenia: Qualitative Study.

Arterial hypertension and type 2 diabetes are significant contributors to global non-communicable disease-related mortality. Integrated care, centred on person-centred principles, aims to enhance healthcare quality and access, especially for vulnerable populations. This study investigates integrated care for these diseases in Slovenia, providing a comprehensive analysis of facilitators and barriers influencing scalability. Qualitative methods, including focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews, were employed in line with the grounded theory approach. Participants represented various levels (micro, meso and macro), ensuring diverse perspectives. Data were collected from May 2019 to April 2020, until reaching saturation. Transcripts were analysed thematically using NVivo software. Nine categories emerged: Governance, Health financing, Organisation of healthcare, Health workforce, Patients, Community links, Collaboration/Communication, Pharmaceuticals, and Health information systems. Some of identified barriers were political inertia and underutilisation of research findings in practice; outdated health financing system; accessibility challenges, especially for vulnerable populations; healthcare workforce knowledge and burnout; patients' complex role in accepting and managing their conditions; collaboration within healthcare teams; and fragmentation of health information systems. Peer support and telemedicine were the only two potential solutions identified. This study offers a comprehensive evaluation of integrated care for hypertension and type 2 diabetes in Slovenia, featuring insights into facilitators and barriers. These findings have implications for policy and practice. Monitoring integrated care progress, refining strategies, and enhancing care quality for patients with these two diseases should be priorities in Slovenia.

Development of fishery information system for production processes organization

The article substantiates the relevance of developing a software product that carries out the digitalization of the country’s fisheries management processes. The use of general scientific methods of structural analysis, synthesis, and formalization allowed us to develop a formal model of the subject area. Such a model became the basis for using object-oriented programming methods to obtain a full-fledged multi-user information system. Graphic images of screens of mobile and web-oriented versions of the system with a description of the functionality of user categories are presented. The developed information system allows to systematize and unify fishery processes, provide state control of the industry, and attract monetary investments into the industry.

A Review of Industry 4.0 Maturity Models: Theoretical Comparison in The Smart Manufacturing Sector

The purpose of this study is to conduct a theoretical review of the existing Industry 4.0 (I4.0) Maturity Models (MM) in the manufacturing sector, with a focus on both large and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to gain an in-depth understanding of the present state-of-the-art A comprehensive analysis was conducted on a total of sixteen maturity models within the manufacturing sector, encompassing a range of scopes and stages. Notably, only six of these studies specifically focused on SMEs. In order to achieve this objective, the present study has identified the common scopes of MM (manufacturing sector) that have been examined in the context of both large/multinational enterprises and SMEs. These scopes include organizational strategy, smart factory, smart operation, smart product, vertical integration (VI), horizontal integration (HI), employees, leadership, customers, culture, governance, technology, data-driven governance, IT infrastructure, and information systems. In the context of MM stages, research emphasized on an initial/basic stage level that enables SMEs to facilitate the adoption of I4.0 in the manufacturing sector.

Decision Support System for Strategic Planning in Educational Organization: A Survey

Strategic planning models and the provision of information for decision making in complex strategic circumstances are research topics of great interest. This research addresses the issue of supporting strategic planning decision-making in educational foundations by building a Decision Support System (DSS) to be used by decision-makers in carrying out their strategic planning process, the DSS is integrated in the entire organisation's information system database. This research provides an overview of DSS, the college planning process, the development of DSS through the use of artificial intelligence, and a framework for planning activities at different levels of the organisation to develop strategic plans. Based on the strategic planning process model, a DSS framework is proposed, along with decision support approaches for various DSS modules. DSS provides the best support (at individual, group, and organisational levels) for all stages of strategic planning decision-making. By applying DSS, it is possible to create more perfect circumstances to achieve sustainable future-orientated institutional goals.

Enhancing healthcare data security: a two-step authentication scheme with cloud technology and blockchain

In the modern world, medical data leakage has many external and internal threats. Information systems of medical organizations are constantly subject to various types of cyber-attacks and unauthorized penetration attempts, which leads to the publication of patient medical data online. Existing authentication schemes using blockchain technologies in medical organization systems ensure the integrity of medical data and secure access to patient data. However, one of the serious reasons for unauthorized access to the healthcare system is the human factor, which manifests itself in a negligent attitude towards account security, non-compliance with the rules and policies of information security, and transferring to third parties personal login details to the information system of a medical organization. This paper proposes a solution to this problem through an improved two-step authentication scheme using cloud technology and blockchain. The combined use of cloud technologies and blockchain is a distinctive feature of the proposed authentication scheme since it provides two levels of protection: 1) two-step authentication, the second stage of which includes biometrics through a mobile application. It prevents unauthorized access to the system by third parties; 2) cloud encryption keys for decrypting medical data, which are also accessed through the user's biometrics. The practical part of the paper includes the implementation of biometric login in Python using the OpenCV library. As a result of the practical part, unique fingerprint samples were obtained. The biometric user verification algorithm is designed for a mobile application, which we plan to implement in the future

Membedah Aplikasi SISNU bagi Manajemen Organisasi NU

The Nahdlatul Ulama Strategic Information System or SISNU digital application is an innovative product among NU organizations in Central Java. This article aims to take a more in-depth look at what and how SISNU is and at the same time analyze its benefits for the NU organization itself. This research tries to use a content analysis approach to the SISNU application, and then compiles the results using a narrative descriptive model. The conclusion of this research is that SISNU is relatively easy to operate and has strategic benefits for local NU organizations. That innovation in creating digital application regarding organizational information system can facilitate the work of organizational management itself.

Data Governance Model For Nation-Wide Non-Profit Organization

According to Connolly's (2017) research, the context of nonprofit organizations exhibits variations when compared to commercial organizations or businesses, as supported by Zhang's (2010) study. Hence, it is imperative for both theoretical and empirical studies to contribute towards enhancing our comprehension of the strategy, implementation, and utilization of information systems in the specific context of nonprofit organizations. The investigation of information systems within the context of non-profit organizations offers a promising avenue for advancing the field of information systems research. This study focuses on the development of an information systems framework using the soft systems methodology, which has already been established. One opportunity for the advancement of information systems in non-profit organizations lies in the establishment of a comprehensive framework that facilitates adoption and is accompanied by robust data governance. This framework enables the analysis of data and the generation of valuable insights, thereby contributing to the development of information systems in the non-profit sector. The choice of data governance was informed by Zhang's (2010) research, which demonstrated that non-profit organizations face significant obstacles in the form of privacy and data security concerns. Furthermore, it is apparent that the preservation of data privacy plays a crucial role in the acceptance and utilization of information systems within non-profit entities. This research aims to contribute to the resolution of the issue by establishing a governance framework for information systems that effectively communicates to users the absence of data privacy risks associated with the systems employed by organizations. The objective of this study is to create a data governance model that will fill the research gap mentioned earlier and make a valuable contribution to the field of information systems research. The formation of the data governance model will involve the integration of soft systems methodology and the DAMA framework. The outcome of this study will be a data governance model specifically designed for a nationwide non-profit organization that utilizes microservices as its cutting-edge technology.

Design and Implementation of an IIoT Driven Information System: A Case Study

AbstractInformation systems are critical for companies since they offer quick and easy access to complex and significant data in a structured manner to make informed and effective business decisions. Hence, the objective of this study is to conceptualize and implement an innovative information system in the case study organization. The study identified the requirements for Organizing Vision Theory (OVT) and developed architecture based on Organizational Information Processing Theory (OIPT). This architecture is designed and developed using the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to support a self-organizing vision and enhanced information processing. The study’s contribution lies in developing and executing an integrative architecture of IIoT-driven information systems from the lenses of OVT and OIPT. Further, this study contributes by mapping OVT elements (such as transparency, continuity, and coherence) and OIPT elements (information processing needs and capabilities) to drive value and knowledge through a robust architecture of IIoT-driven information systems. The study also highlights the contribution of IIoT-based information systems to a new knowledge system, facilitating better decision-making by professionals.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INVENTORY ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEMS: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW

The significance of efficiency and accuracy in inventory management is crucial for achieving operational success and making informed decisions. The objective of this study is to examine and evaluate the utilization of inventory accounting information systems in different organizations. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to gather, assess, and integrate findings from diverse and pertinent literature sources. The findings of this study demonstrate that the adoption of an inventory accounting information system yields substantial advantages, such as enhanced operational effectiveness, decreased storage expenses, improved precision of financial statements, and simplified monitoring and analysis of inventory data. The discussion emphasizes the significance of choosing a suitable platform, providing employee training, and ensuring seamless integration with current business processes. This research demonstrates that investing in the implementation of an inventory accounting information system is a prudent measure to enhance operational efficiency, facilitate well-informed decision-making, and sustain competitiveness in a progressively competitive market.

Quality and Evaluation of Information Systems in Institutional Organizations: Archives and Libraries

The factors affecting the success and efficiency of information systems are always an important and critical aspect for the structure, proper operation, and improvement of the produced services and products of an organization for its end users-both for the internal ones (employees) and for the external ones (public). At the present, the need to create suitable parameters, assisting in evaluating and measuring the successful operation of an information system in an organization is constantly growing. The purpose of the specific thesis is, firstly, to introduce us to the environment of the organizations’ information systems, while also providing us with a complete and extended presentation of their operations, processes, infrastructures, and factors of success. Through Systems Theory, we shall examine the analysis and design for an information system, while identifying the quality parameters necessary for measuring its success. In addition, we shall employ the model for measuring quality for an information system called: “DeLone & McLean Information Systems success model”. We shall see what each parameter of the above model examines by investigating concepts such as system quality, information quality, user satisfaction, effect of quality onuses and organization. At the same time, we shall develop an application for evaluating the quality of an information system, the so-called: "Organizational Memory Information Systems Quality" which builds on the success model of DeLone & McLean. The main objective of this thesis is to reach into a fruitful discussion regarding quality in the operation, infrastructure, and provided services of institutional organizations. Moreover, we shall focus on the usefulness and importance of measuring factors regarding efficiency for an information system, as this procedure is used by modern Society of Information, in order to be transformed to Society of Knowledge.

You are your friends: Detecting malware via guilt-by-association and exempt-by-reputation

With the increase in the prevalence of Security Information and Event Management Systems (SIEMs) in today's organizations, there is a growing interest in data-driven threat detection.In this research, we formulate malware detection as a large-scale graph mining and inference problem using host-level system events/logs. Our approach is built on two basic principles: guilt-by-association and exempt-by-reputation, with the intuition, that an adversary's resources are limited; hence, reusing infrastructures and techniques is inevitable. We present MalLink, a system that models all host-level process activities as a Heterogeneous Information Network (HIN). The HIN emphasizes shared characteristics of processes/files across the enterprise, e.g., parent/sub-processes, written/read files, loaded libraries, registry entries, and network connections. MalLink then propagates maliciousness from a set of previously known malicious entities to obtain a set of previously unknowns.MalLink was deployed in a real-world setting, next to the SIEM system of a large international enterprise, and evaluated using 8 days (20 TB) of EDR logs collected from all endpoints within the organization. The results demonstrate high detection performance (F1-score of 0.83), particularly when manually investigating the 50 highest scored files with no prior, 37 are found malicious. This demonstrates MalLink's capability to detect previously unknown malicious files.

Evaluasi Pengelolaan Obat Di Instalasi Farmasi RSUD Dr. Soeratno Gemolong Kabupaten Sragen

Drug management is a cycle including selection, procurement, distribution and use which is supported by an appropriate organizational structure, finances and management information system. The aim of this research is to determine drug management in the Pharmacy Installation at RSUD dr. Soeratno Gemolong, Sragen Regency.This research uses prospective and retrospective methods. Where retrospective data is taken from 2022 data. Prospective data is taken through direct observation. The results of this research are: the percentage of available funds and the required funds is 80%, the percentage of procurement and actual use is 98%, invoice errors are 0.47%, there are no delayed payments by hospitals, compatibility between drugs and stock cards is 100% , drug availability level of 16 months, warehouse management system with FIFO, FEFO and LASA marking systems, average time used to serve compounded prescriptions is 11 minutes and non-mixed prescriptions is 7 minutes, conformity of drug items with the National Formulary is 93%, frequency of procurement of each drug item 4-6x a year, turn over ratio 3 times, percentage of expired and damaged drug value 5.05%, dead stock percentage 3%, number of drug items per prescription sheet 3.5 items, percentage of prescriptions with generic names 88%. These results indicate that drug management in the Pharmacy Installation at RSUD dr. Soeratno Gemolong, Sragen Regency is not yet good.

The Analysis of Key Success Factors Affecting the Satisfaction of Agricultural Organizational Information Systems

This article takes the WeChat public account of agriculture and rural areas in J Province as the research object to explore the influencing factors of satisfaction of organizational information system (IS) in agricultural sector. Firstly, new media is taken as the background, and the characteristics and communication factors of agricultural informatization are analyzed. Secondly, a user satisfaction questionnaire of the WeChat public account of agriculture and rural areas of J Province is designed based on the satisfaction theory and the success model of IS. Finally, the influencing factors of users' satisfaction with agricultural and rural WeChat public accounts are studied through questionnaire survey. The results show that the correlation coefficients among perceived value (PV), information quality (IQ), perceived usefulness (PU), and platform satisfaction are all positive, and p £ 0.01.
