Enhancing firm performance through knowledge sharing, knowledge management, supply chain efficiency and integration: exploring the moderating influence of reverse logistic

PurposeThis study aimed to examine how knowledge sharing, knowledge management, supply chain efficiency and integration collectively impacted firm performance. Additionally, it investigated the moderating influence of reverse logistics on these relationships, seeking to enhance understanding of the complex dynamics within organizations.Design/methodology/approachA comprehensive method was used in the research design, combining a thorough evaluation of the body of literature with organized questionnaire data collection. Random sampling was used to collect data from Pakistani manufacturing companies, and PLS-SEM was used to analyze the collected data.FindingsThe findings demonstrated the strong positive relationships between knowledge management, integration, supply chain effectiveness, and information sharing and business performance. The study also showed that reverse logistics improved and moderated these correlations, highlighting the significance of managing reverse logistics well for the best possible company performance.Practical implicationsIn terms of practical implications, the study offered organizations looking to improve performance useful information. Making informed strategic decisions was made possible by realizing the benefits of knowledge management, integration, supply chain efficiency, and sharing. The relevance of using successful tactics to maximize company outcomes was highlighted by highlighting the moderating effects of reverse logistics.Originality/valueBy thoroughly analyzing the connections between knowledge management, supply chain effectiveness, integration, and firm performance—while taking into account the moderating influence of reverse logistics—this study enhanced the body of existing literature. The discoveries significantly added value to this research topic by enhancing our understanding of how these elements collectively influence business performance, especially in the sometimes disregarded field of reverse logistics.

Exploring the Relationship between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Performance of Agribusiness SMEs in Balikpapan

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are integral to Indonesia's economic development, comprising a vast majority of national business entities and significantly contributing to the GDP. Despite their importance, MSMEs face challenges in a highly competitive landscape, exacerbated by foreign competition. This study focuses on Agribusiness MSMEs in Balikpapan City, aiming to analyze their entrepreneurial orientation and business performance while identifying factors influencing this relationship. Employing a quantitative approach, data was collected through structured questionnaires from registered MSMEs. The analysis, conducted using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), reveals that innovation, proactiveness, and autonomy significantly influence business performance, while competitiveness and risk-taking do not. The findings underscore the pivotal role of innovation in enhancing SME performance, providing insights for policymakers and managers to support SME growth and sustainability. Despite its contributions, the study has limitations, including its focus on a specific sector and reliance on qualitative data. Future research could explore comparative studies across industries, integrate quantitative methods, and investigate the role of government policies in fostering SME innovation. Overall, this research contributes to understanding the relationship between innovation and SME performance, guiding strategies to support SMEs in Balikpapan and beyond.

Technology Infrastructure and Business Performance of Commercial Banks in Kenya

The general objective of the study was to examine the role of technology infrastructureon business performance of Commercial Banks in Kenya. The philosophy that guided the research is positivism philosophy. The study adopted correlational research design. The target population was commercial Banks in Kenya register by the Central Bank of Kenya. The population consisted of all 42 commercial banks in Kenya. Respondents’ population comprised of five top managers from each bank translating to 210 top managers. Slovin’s formula was used to calculate the sample size. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 138 top managers of the 42 commercial Banks in Kenya. This study used a self-administered, closed and open-ended questionnaire to obtain primary data. A pilot study was conducted to test the validity and reliability of the data collection instrument. Quantitative data was collected and analyzed in this study by calculating the response rate with descriptive statistics such as mean, standard deviation, median and proportions using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24). Regression analysis and correlation analysis was used to carry out inferential data analysis to determine the direction and strength of the relationship between the independent and the dependent variables. In order to test the influence of information technology capability on business performance of Commercial Banks in Kenya, the study employed a hierarchical regression analysis with moderation. The study results were presented through use of tables and figures. The study concludes that technology infrastructure has a positive and significant effect on business performance of Commercial Banks in Kenya. The study revealed that hardware/Software, network and database influence business performance of Commercial Banks in Kenya. This implies that improvement in information technology infrastructure (hardware/Software, network and database) would lead to improvement in business performance of Commercial Banks in Kenya. The study recommends that the management of commercial banks in Kenya should ensure they had adequate and up to date hardware/Software to enable their employees improve their productivity.

Based on the findings, the study recommends that the management of commercial banks in Kenya should ensure they have in place an effective plan for idea generation, technology acquisition and technology Implementation.

Allocating marketing funds: a multi-goal approach

Purpose There has been a lot of research on how to set marketing budgets, but the overlooked aspect was how allocating funds influences business performance in a multi-goal context. This study aims to examine the relationship between business performance, the process of allocating funds to multiple goals and the interaction among the goals. Design/methodology/approach Ratio data were generated through “a constant sum scale” from a sample of 362 managers from the B2C sector, besides data on after-tax revenue for two years. The data file was created. Then, a factor analysis was performed on the data. Furthermore, an econometric model with interaction terms was fitted to the data. Findings The results show that allocating funds to multiple marketing goals – demand generation, customer experience, brand image, marketing competency and purchase intention – influences business performance. Furthermore, a goal’s impact on business performance is higher when coupled with other goals than in isolation. Practical implications The findings of the study should assist managers in increasing revenue while spending less on marketing and shifting funds from less efficient goals and pairs of goals to highly efficient ones. Originality/value By extending the relevant theory on the relationship between the process of marketing fund allocation, multiple goals and business performance, this study contributes to the literature on marketing.

The Integration of Sustainable Technology and Big Data Analytics in Saudi Arabian SMEs: A Path to Improved Business Performance

Big data analytics technology offers significant opportunities for innovation and performance improvement for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in competitive environments. However, reaping these benefits requires the adoption of such technologies by SMEs. This study investigates the factors influencing the adoption of big data and analytics in Saudi Arabian SMEs in the service and manufacturing sectors, with a particular focus on the role of facilitating sustainable technology in enabling sustainable business performance. Data were collected from managers of SMEs in Saudi Arabia using a quantitative method. The proposed hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling with SmartPLS 4.0. The findings reveal that big data security and management support significantly influence the perceived ease of use and usefulness of big data analytics in SMEs. Perceived ease of use significantly influences the adoption of big data analytics. Furthermore, facilitating sustainable technology was a significant predictor of sustainable business performance. Additionally, the study revealed that the adoption of big data analytics significantly influenced business performance. The insights obtained from this study can be useful for the service and manufacturing industries operating in Saudi Arabia, particularly regarding the key influencing factor of perceived ease of use that determines the adoption of big data analytics in the Saudi Arabian SME market.

Influences of Environment Context and E-Business Adoption on Business Performance of The Retail Ready-Made Garment Business

Purpose: The objective of this research was to study the influences that affect the business performance of the retail ready-made garment businesses. Method: The study focused on the use of a quantitative method with a questionnaire as the tool for data collection from a sample of 240 retail ready-made garment businesses. Data analyses included descriptive statistics and the Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results and Discussions: The findings revealed that the Chi-square = 60.175, df = 44, CMIN/DF = 1.770, GFI=.963, CFI=.992, AGFI=.914, and RMSEA= .055 The structural equation model demonstrated that the environment context and e-business adoption influence the business performance of retail ready-made garment businesses with statistical significance. The variance of the business performance to use was affected by all two factors 74% (R2 = .74) while the remainder was affected by other factors. Nevertheless, it was also revealed that, in the operation of retail ready-made garment businesses, the value chain for e-businesses includes business performance, production, logistics, the infrastructure of human resources, and finance. E-business adoption influences business performance by beneficially leading to efficient operations and the sustainable growth of organizations. Research Implications: Nowadays, the direction of the market and consumers' behavior changes continuously. Naturally, fashion products run in competition with customer demand. At the same time, the duration of sales is starting to shorten due to the faster changing social conditions than in the past. Moreover, the purchasing tendency of customers changes and the product price starts to be lower. However, they focus on buying mix and match garments according to the fashion trend and at a friendly price. Furthermore, the lifestyle of a customer in the new age builds a bond with technology access, such as internet access/ online social via communication devices. These devices are elevated to major roles in modern lifestyles, such as smartphones. It affects alertness in online shopping and greatly influences daily shopping. Entrepreneurs must adjust strategies and business management to be more efficient and effective. Originality/Value: Therefore, the retail ready-made garment business has changed from the past in a high number, in terms of consumption behaviors of target customers, patterns of business administration, and marketing strategy.

Revealing the Link Between Open Minded, Uncertainty Readiness and Optimism in Business Performance for Food and Beverage Businesses

Abstract Business performance is an urgent topic to explore because there are many aspects that influence it. One thing that can guarantee business performance is open-minded entrepreneurship, uncertain readiness, and entrepreneurial optimism. In this context, businesses in the form of Food and Beverage (F&B) have become popular in the last few decades in Indonesia. From this research, it investigates the effects of open-minded entrepreneurs, uncertain readiness, and entrepreneurial optimism on business performance. Apart from that, it also dissects the relevance of open-minded entrepreneurship and uncertain readiness on business performance which is mediated by entrepreneurial optimism. The quantitative method was operated via an online survey involving cafe and restaurant owners (N = 128) spread across several big cities in Indonesia. Then, the data was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). As a result, of the five hypotheses developed, three were accepted. Open-minded entrepreneurship, uncertain readiness, and entrepreneurial optimism are proven to influence business performance. On the one hand, the other two hypotheses are rejected, where open-minded entrepreneurship or uncertain readiness have no impact on business performance through entrepreneurial optimism. By implication, the output of the research is interesting to highlight in the future. Optimism in too high a capacity can harm the business. This is triggered by the level of vigilance and actions of business owners in making decisions based on irrational emotions.

The Influence of Product Innovation Orientation on the Business Performance of the Coffee Shops in Bekasi City, Indonesia

The coffee industry in Indonesia currently has a large market and potential. It can be seen by the increasing number of coffee shops in Bekasi City which increased from 79 in 2020 to 199 in 2021. In tight competition, companies must have strong competitiveness, one of which is developing a product innovation orientation. Therefore, this research was conducted to find out the influence of product innovation orientation on the business performance of the coffee shops in Bekasi City, which are considered MSMEs. The questionnaire used in this research was distributed to 100 respondents. After utilizing the simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination, this study indicates that the business performance of the coffee shops is significantly influenced by the product innovation orientation. Further study is suggested to examine the other factors, such as the skill and knowledge of the employee, that can influence business performance.

The Influence of Financial Report Quality, Profitability and Tax Avoidance Practices on Business Value Through Financial Performance as a Mediating Variable in Banking Sector Companies

This research analyzes the influence of financial report quality, profitability, tax avoidance practices on financial performance; analyze the influence of financial report quality, profitability, tax avoidance practices on business value; and analyzing financial performance in mediating the relationship between financial report quality, profitability and tax avoidance practices and business value. The research sample was 20 (twenty) financial reports from 6 (six) banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) for the period 2017 to 2022, namely BNI, BRI, Bank Danamon, BCA, Bank CIMB Niaga and Bank Permata with 79 observations. The data collection technique was showed by accessing the official PT website. Indonesia stock exchange. The data analysis technique is path analysis with correlation and regression techniques. The research results show that the quality of financial reports has no effect on business performance; profitability influences business performance; tax avoidance practices have no effect on business performance; the quality of financial reports has no effect on business value; profitability influences the value of banking companies; tax avoidance practices have no effect on business value; financial performance has no effect on the value of banking companies; financial performance cannot mediate the relationship between financial report quality and business value; financial performance cannot mediate the relationship between profitability and firm value; and between tax avoidance practices and firm value.

PENGARUH MARKETING KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT TERHADAP BISNIS PERFORMANCE YANG DIMEDIASI OLEH PRODUK INNOVASI DAN DIGITAL MARKETING PADA PENGGUNA PRODUK CAMILLE BEAUTY

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of marketing knowledge management on business performance mediated by product innovation and digital marketing on users of camille beauty products. This research method is quantitative. The population in this study were students who used camille beauty products in Surakarta. The number of samples in this study were 95 respondents. The sampling technique can be classified as non-probability with purposive sampling. The data used in this research is primary data. The data collection method used in this research is by distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis with Smart Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study are that Marketing knowledge management has a significant positive effect on business performance. Marketing knowledge management has a significant positive effect on product innovation. Marketing knowledge management has a significant positive effect on digital marketing. Product innovation has a significant positive effect on business performance. Digital marketing has a significant positive effect on business performance. Marketing knowledge management influences business performance mediated by product innovation. Marketing knowledge management affects business performance mediated by digital marketing.

How the digital business ecosystem affects stakeholder satisfaction: its impact on business performance

AbstractDue to the digital transformation, organizations have incorporated technologies in all areas of the company, creating digital business ecosystems. These in turn, with the tools that compose it, influence the satisfaction of stakeholders and business performance. The objective of this research is to know how the digital business ecosystem affects customer and employee satisfaction and whether this satisfaction has an impact on business performance. To achieve this objective, a model is proposed to which a PLS technique is applied to a sample of 1319 Spanish SMEs. The results of this innovative study show, on the one hand, a positive relationship of the digital business ecosystem with the satisfaction of both stakeholders, and, on the other hand, and as the main contribution of this study, it has been found that employee satisfaction positively influences business performance. This research offers a novel model capable of relating how the satisfaction of both customers and employees in a digital environment improves business performance. It also contributes to the literature by widening the field of study and overcomes a new gap for SMEs.

An integrated AI framework for managing organizational risk and climate change concerns in B2B market

The United Nations identified sustainable development goals that focus on the three pillars of sustainability-Economy, Society, and Environment. The capability of Artificial intelligence (AI) for societal good and support to these three pillars is a matter of research importance. Drawing attention to literature on various AI frameworks for climate change and the dynamic capability theory, this study conducts a survey of managers working within their AI ecosystem of B2B firms. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling are used to test the reliability, validity, and fitness of the research model. This model illustrates how big data-based AI system can influence business performance due to climate change. Research findings reveals paths involving “big data based artificial intelligence system”, “climate change competency process (prediction competency, mitigation competency, adaptation competency)”, “climate competent decision-making,” and “firm performance”, are statistically significant. As a part of research validation, three business cases are studied that focus on the decision-making capability of business under an uncertain environment. This study justifies that climate competent decision-making is a critical skill for businesses operating under uncertain environmental changes. This research brings out management perceptions generated due to climate change and discusses how they influence managers' behaviors that alter relationship dynamics and structure.

Establishing an Entrepreneurial Environment in Indonesia: Impact of CEO Social Capital, Marketing, and Financial Capabilities on the Performance and Sustainability of MSMEs

This study investigates the complex dynamics of creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Indonesia by examining the influence of CEO social capital, marketing capability, and financial capability on business performance. It also explores business performance implications for the sustainable business practices of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem. A quantitative approach was used, incorporating quantitative data collected through offline and online surveys of 504 samples. Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) 4 was used for data analysis. This study supported the hypothesis that CEO social capital, marketing, and financial capability significantly influence business performance. In addition, strong evidence was found for a positive relationship between business performance and sustainable business practices and the influence of sustainable business practices on the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This study underscores the multifaceted nature of entrepreneurship in Indonesia, where CEO social capital, effective marketing strategies, financial stability, and sustainable business practices are interconnected elements that contribute to firm success and the overall vitality of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. These findings have implications for policymakers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders who want to encourage entrepreneurship, support MSMEs, and strengthen Indonesia's entrepreneurial ecosystem for sustainable economic growth and development.

THE INFLUENCE OF FINANCIAL LITERACY AND FINANCIAL INCLUSION ON INVESTMENT DECISIONS AND BUSINESS PERFORMANCE

Village Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) were established with the aim of increasing the economic activities of village communities by developing businesses through managing village potentials in order to meet the general needs of the community and increase the village's original income. For this reason, BUMDes is expected to be managed optimally so that it is able to develop and have good business performance. This research aims to measure the influence of financial literacy and financial inclusion on investment decisions and BUMDesa performance in Indragiri Hulu Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach. Primary data comes from operational implementers or BUMDes managers, with 143 respondents answering the questionnaire. Data analysis uses path analysis. The results show that financial literacy has a significant effect on investment decisions, financial literacy has a significant effect on business performance, financial inclusion has no significant effect on investment decisions, financial inclusion has a significant effect on business performance, investment decisions have a significant effect on business performance, financial literacy through investment decisions has an effect on business performance, and financial inclusion through investment decisions influences business performance.

Effect of Bank Credit on the Business Performance of Unorganised Event Management Firms in Salem District

The unorganised event management sector comprises a significant portion of the overall event industry in India. These are small businesses that provide event planning and management services. These firms operate without proper structure or organisation, making it difficult for them to compete with larger organised firms. However, unorganised event management firms have strengths that allow them to provide services to clients that organised firms may not be able to provide. Though, due to the lack of proper infrastructure, stiff competition and financial support, many event organisers operating in the unorganised sector face various challenges. The banks can play a vital role in supporting these event organisers by providing them with financial assistance and other services. This study investigates the effect of bank credit on the business performance of unorganised event management firms. The study covers 230 unorganised event organisers from the Salem district. The qualitative data were collected by using a well-crafted questionnaire. The study result proved that bank credit has significantly influenced the business performance of event management firms. Event organisers are satisfied with their business performance. Moreover, bank credit has substantially influenced business performance in developing a capacity to conduct multiple events simultaneously, business growth, return on investment, profitability, competitive advantage, purchase of new equipment and adoption of recent technology. The study recommended that banks should frame adequate policies to support small business firms to access bank credit without any hindrance. Hence, to face challenges, event management firms should invest in proper organisational structure, recruit experienced professionals, and implement efficient planning and execution processes. This will help them to deliver successful events and build a positive reputation in the industry.

Relationship between entrepreneurial orientation, innovative co-branding partnership, and business performance

PURPOSE: This study aimed to determine the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (EO), innovative co-branding partnership, and business performance. EO was analyzed through five dimensions: innovativeness, proactiveness, risk-taking, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy. METHODOLOGY: As part of the first phase of brand management research, the quantitative survey was conducted in June 2023 among managers of companies operating in Poland using an online questionnaire. 280 responses were obtained, of which 266 questionnaires were qualified for further calculations. Incomplete questionnaires were eliminated. Hypotheses were formulated regarding the positive impact of the five dimensions of EO (innovation, proactivity, risk-taking, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy) on business performance and innovative co-branding partnership, and the positive impact of innovative co-branding partnership on business performance. Structural equation modeling using partial least squares (PLS-SEM) was applied to support the conceptual framework and proposed hypotheses. The calculations were performed in Smart PLS version 4.0.9.5. FINDINGS: The results indicate that three EO dimensions (innovativeness, proactiveness, and competitive aggressiveness) influence business performance. There was no effect of risk-taking and autonomy on business performance. In addition, three EO dimensions (innovativeness, competitive aggressiveness, and autonomy) influence innovative co-branding partnership. No effect of risk-taking and proactivity was found on innovative co-branding partnership. This means that two EO dimensions (innovativeness and competitive aggressiveness) positively influence innovative co-branding partnership and business performance. Furthermore, innovative co-branding partnership was proven to influence business performance. IMPLICATIONS for theory and practice: The results of the study point to theoretical implications for further exploration of entrepreneurial orientation and its dimensions. The practical implications relate to recommendations for managers. Managers should make efforts to increase innovation, market activity, and competitiveness of the market offer. It is necessary to monitor the actions taken in the context of their impact on selected market, consumer, product, and brand performance. In addition, managers should analyze the possibilities of undertaking cooperation of this nature to increase business performance. ORIGINALITY AND VALUE: This study provides a better understanding of the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance using innovative co-branding. Compared to previous studies, it has an advantage in research by introducing the issue of innovative co-branding, which can be used for the development of new business activities. In addition, this study focuses on several areas of business performance, including product, brand, consumer, and financial performance.

The role of live-streaming commerce in moderating the influence of entrepreneurial marketing and e-commerce adoption on the business performance of fashion SMEs

Small and Medium Enterprises (MSEs) are one of the people's economic enterprises that have an essential role in advancing the Indonesian economy. Improving the overall, optimal and sustainable performance of SMEs business increases contribution to the economy in provinces in Indonesia, one of which is Bali Province, the province with the highest absorption of SMEs in Indonesia, namely 10 percent of its population. Denpasar City, as the capital of Bali Province, is the center of trade in Bali, especially the relatively even distribution of SMEs in every sub-district in Denpasar City. This research aims to analyze the role of live streaming in moderating the influence of entrepreneurial marketing and e-commerce on the performance of fashion SMEs in Denpasar City. The research involved 134 fashion SMEs in Denpasar City as samples. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires. Then, the data was analyzed using SmartPLS. The test results of live-streaming commerce moderating the influence of e-commerce adoption on business performance show that live-streaming commerce moderates with a quasi-moderation type the influence of e-commerce adoption on business performance. Live streaming commerce moderates the influence between the independent variable e-commerce adoption and the dependent variable business performance and influences business performance.

Pentingnya Kapabilitas Inovasi dalam Meningkatkan Performa Bisnis

This study aims to explain how the role of innovation capabilities in entrepreneurial orientation in influencing business performance. The population of this study consists of MSMEs in Bali's tourism and creative economy (parekraf) industry. Purposive sampling was used to select 90 MSME managers in the tourism and creative economy sectors. Path Analysis with SEM-PLS is used as an analytical approach. The findings show that there is a positive and significant impact of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance shown by creativity, innovation, dare to take risks, be independent, and dare to compete. The positive and significant influence of entrepreneurial orientation on innovation capabilities; and the positive and significant influence of innovation capabilities on business performance. Innovation capabilities are able to mediate the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on business performance. Therefore, it is important for MSMEs in the tourism sector and creative economy in Bali to improve entrepreneurial orientation in order to be able to build higher innovation capabilities to improve business performance after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effect Operation Strategy on Performance

The aim of this research is to determine the operational strategies and business performance of entrepreneurial students, as well as to analyze operational strategies on business performance. This research was conducted on entrepreneurial students in Malang consisting of students from UB, UM Malang, Poltek, UMM, Unisma and UIN Malang. The population is students who are actively running businesses with an unknown number. Sample The sample was taken from 25 entrepreneurial students at each university, so that the total sample was 150 which was considered to represent all entrepreneurial students. The sampling technique was accidental sampling for entrepreneurial students in tertiary institutions. The analysis tool uses an interval scale and regression with SPSS. The research results show that the operation strategy and business performance of entrepreneurial students is very good, the operation strategy (cost, quality, delivery and flexibility) influences business performance.
