Introduction. The importance of defining appropriate audiotexts’ selection criteria for teaching correspondence future interpreters listening comprehension in English is significant. The link between the accurately selected listening materials and the students’ final comprehension of the contents of the audiotexts has been established. The study of the basic materials for the Translators/Interpreters’ Department for “English as First Foreign Language” has proved that it is a challenge for the secondyear future interpreters to select the educational listening comprehension materials for their individual preparation individually. Purpose. To research and define audiotexts’ selection criteria for teaching correspondence future interpreters listening comprehension in English. Methods. Empirical research, study of the scientific publications, sites and podcasts for developing listening comprehension skills, analysis of the topics, functions and listening skills of the Curriculum for English language development in universities and institutes, study of the basic materials for the Translators/Interpreters’ Department for “English as First Foreign Language” were used to define the audiotexts’ selection criteria for teaching correspondence future interpreters listening comprehension in English. Results. The suggested criteria comprise primary and secondary components. Among the primary components are structural, lexical, phraseological, grammatical, functional authenticity, compliance with the students’ English language level program requirements, and genre correspondence. The secondary components of the audiotexts criteria for future interpreters cover novelty and motivation criterion, open source Internet criterion, cultural authenticity, phonetic and acoustic peculiarities, and reaction authenticity criterion. According to the basic materials for the Translators/Interpreters’ Department for “English as First Foreign Language” for future interpreters of the second year, such genres of audiotexts as interviews, announcements, news and lectures are predominant. In particular, the analyzed peculiarities of the interview show that usage of social, gender, agerelated, race, geographic, and ethnic standards complicate the listening comprehension process for future interpreters. Consequently, linguistic distinctive features and phonetic perceptive characteristics should be taken into account. Listening to the news involves comprehending a few topics at the same time. Standard clichйs, specific terms and expressions, Passive Voice, infinitive and gerund clauses characterize the news as a genre. When listening to the announcements, the future interpreters’ attention should be focused on the specific details, followed by the anticipation of the further piece of the audiomessage. The background information on the topic, individual research done by the students is the key to the successful listening comprehension of lectures. The ability to perceive the audiolectures and make notes is based on the trained memory; The most important parts of the lecture are given at the beginning and end of the speech, which is characterized by its logical structure, main and secondary messages, and the conclusion. Conclusion. Scientific research has shown that selection of audiotexts’ of different genres, defined by the Curriculum for teaching correspondence future interpreters, should be done with the help of modern podcasts and specialized listening comprehension sites.
