Construction of PPP (Partai Persatuan Pembangunan) and PKS (Partai Keadilan Sejahtera) Thought in Understanding Terrorism

This article specifically explains the construction of PPP and PKS's thinking in interpreting terrorism. These two parties are the largest Islamic parties in Indonesia and almost all of their supporters are Muslims. The qualitative research method used in selecting informants or subjects has been selected purposively based on their activities, with the consideration that those selected as informants can explore and articulate their experiences consciously in interviews conducted by the Researcher through written texts sent and received via Whatsapp and email. The conclusions from the results of this study are (1) the reality of terrorism is socially formed; (2) the reality of terrorism is expressed through language; (3) knowledge of terrorism is obtained through social processes; and (4) emphasizes real action with suicide bombings. PPP firmly stated that there are two main roots of the problem, namely the problem of religious and economic understanding. Meanwhile, PKS firmly believes that terrorism is caused by the motive of economic inequality. To judge the issue and actions of terrorism is left to the Government and religious experts who understand the Law/Regulations and religious affairs only, considering that they do not want to make statements that will harm the existence of the Party in the future. Their task as the largest Islamic Political Party in Indonesia is only to monitor, supervise and calm the unrest in society through their representatives in each branch and region by coordinating and providing understanding and knowledge about terrorism issues and actions.

A Model for Developing Political Training Curriculum for Political Parties in Indonesia

This paper presents a model for developing a political training curriculum within the context of a political party in Indonesia. It underscores the importance of incorporating institutional values, system enhancement, autonomy in decision-making, and public interaction within the party. As stipulated in Indonesia’s constitution, there are two possible focuses depending on the subjects of such training either the party's administrators and cadres or the general public or community. The paper highlights the need for different teaching strategies and content, depending on the target audience, and emphasizes the necessity for both formative and summative evaluations to ensure the curriculum's ongoing relevance and effectiveness. Ultimately, it provides a blueprint for political parties to create effective, relevant political education programs, tailored to their unique objectives and the needs of their constituents.

Jurisprudence Analysis Of Ma Verdict No 557/Pdt/2016/Pt.Dki On The Malaysian Ambassador's Land Title Dispute

This research analyzes Supreme Court Decision No. 557/PDT/2016/PT.DKI regarding a land title dispute involving the Government of Malaysia and a number of parties in Indonesia. The dispute stems from a claim over land used as the official residence of the Malaysian Ambassador, which had previously been purchased under a notarial deed in 1971. This study aims to understand the application of law in dispute resolution, as well as the legal implications of this decision for the development of jurisprudence and land law practice in Indonesia. The method used is jurisprudential analysis, focusing on the legal documents and arguments presented during the trial. The results of the analysis show that this decision affirms the importance of legal protection for foreign embassies in accordance with the 1961 Vienna Convention, as well as providing clear guidelines in the settlement of land disputes. The research also found that low public awareness regarding legal land ownership is a major factor in the emergence of disputes. In addition, this study suggests the need to improve the mediation mechanism at the BPN and socialization regarding legal land ownership to reduce future disputes. As such, this research is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of land law and improve legal certainty in Indonesia, as well as provide practical recommendations for policymakers in managing land disputes.

Analysing digital campaigns of nationalist parties in Indonesia through political party tweets

Twitter is the main platform for digital campaigns that influence public opinion. Through Twitter, political parties reach a wider audience to disseminate messages effectively. This research analyses narrative content on social media as a medium for political party campaigns delivered via social media. This research examines the campaign content strategy of nationalist party Twitter accounts in Indonesia. The method used is a qualitative method utilising Quality Data Analysis (QDA) with the help of Nvivo 12 Plus software. Three nationalist party Twitter accounts were taken based on their popularity, particularly @Gerindra, @Nasdem, and @PDI_Perjuangan. The @Gerindra account with 68.1 thousand followers highlights aspects of the party's identity and the figure of Prabowo Subianto. In contrast, the @NasDem account focuses more on party identity, national issues, and active participation in political society. The @PDI_Perjuangan account focuses on the spirit of struggle, the candidacy of Ganjar Pranowo, and the construction of the party's identity and history, with high activity, namely 1219 tweets in three months. The results of the analysis of the content of nationalist party Twitter accounts can provide insight into political party communication strategies in digital campaigns in Indonesia.

The Declining Role of Islamic Politics and The Jokowi’s Factors in the 2024 Presidential Election: A Study of Contemporary Political Policies and Dynamics in Indonesia

Research Problem: This abstract discusses the complex challenges faced by Islamic parties in the 2024 presidential election related to Jokowi's role as president. This report focuses on the dynamics of constellation formation between candidates competing in the 2024 presidential election. Research purposes: The main aim of this abstract is to examine the complexity of the problems faced by Islamic parties in the 2024 presidential election. This report aims to explain why Islamic parties cannot unite, but instead try to defeat each other in the election, due to the existence of forces outside of them who are capable of determine political dynamics in a presidential system. Research methods: Methodologically, this abstract refers to a case study of the experience of Islamic parties in contesting the 2024 presidential election in Indonesia. This report uses a qualitative analysis approach to investigate the political dynamics of the 2024 presidential election which also involves the influence of President Jokowi. Results and Discussion: This abstract discusses the challenges faced by political parties in Indonesia, especially Islamic political parties, in the 2024 presidential election which will be held simultaneously with the legislative elections. President Jokowi's influence is important in popularizing political parties that support the presidential candidates he supports, so that it also influences the results of the legislative elections for each Islamic party. Research Implications and Contributions: This abstract provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges faced by Islamic parties, both those that already exist and those that are just emerging in the 2024 elections. This report invites further research and discussion regarding important external (influence of the President in power) and internal aspects of Islamic parties. Parties and the power of capital intensive under open-list proportional representation system: The case of Indonesia

Since the Indonesian election adopted the Open-List Proportional Representation (OLPR) system in 2009 until the present, most political parties have altered their campaign strategies in the parliamentary election. The ownership of capital intensive is seemingly a certainty for political parties if they wish to succeed in the electoral match. Therefore, this article is aimed to demonstrate that capital intensive has a powerful impact in regard to the party triumph in the electoral arena under an OLPR system. It can be seen with the successful experience of four political parties in Indonesia, namely the Gerindra Party (Great Indonesia Movement), PKB (National Awakening Party), the Nasdem Party (National Democrat), and PKS (Prosperous Justice Party) in two elections, 2014 and 2019. Methodologically, it is qualitative research by utilizing in-depth interviews and online news gathering as the data collection technique. With the usage of four marketing-mix indicators (product, price, place, promotion), the article findings revealed that most political parties generally had uniformity in those four indicators despite different ideologies, programs, and strategies. Each party respectively required financial costs, an ideological platform, past achievements, popular candidate profile, physiological costs, local networks, direct campaign strategies to voters, elite approaches, and tactical promotions through mass media. Thus, this study concludes that these costs, which are referred to as “capital intensive,” determine the party’s victory in achieving electoral success.

Practice of Presidential Threshold in the Implementation of Presidential and Vice Presidential General Elections and Its Implications on the Political Rights of Citizens and Political Parties in Indonesia

The presidential threshold is a rule that becomes a political requirement for a political party to carry presidential and vice presidential candidates. The existence of this rule can potentially cause restrictions on citizens in running for president and restrictions on political parties in carrying their candidates to the presidency and vice presidency. The presidential threshold journey in coloring the elections in Indonesia has also undergone material testing and a lawsuit by the Constitutional Court. Therefore, this study aims to discuss the practice of the Presidential threshold in the implementation of elections in Indonesia and its relation to the political rights of citizens and political parties in Indonesia. This study is a field research study with a study into the field and using a non-doctrinal approach that is the enactment of law. Primary Data was obtained by interview techniques to the KPU RI, political parties, and legal experts. Furthermore, the secondary data consists of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials. This legal research uses descriptive analysis to obtain research results. The results showed that the practice of Presidential threshold has existed since the enactment of the first presidential and vice presidential elections. The political rights of citizens and political parties do not necessarily disappear, they only become conditional. Political parties also have the same opportunity to nominate the president and vice president by carrying their own or joining and forming coalitions with other parties.

Analysis of CSR Disclosure Practice in Sustainability Reports: A Case Study of Mining and Agriculture Companies in the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index

The urgent need for CSR disclosure is not only for the company's internal needs in accountability, transparency, risk management, and business sustainability but also includes compliance with regulations and ensuring the reputation of the company's image for the trust of stakeholders, especially the surrounding community. The current situation related to the activities of mining and agricultural companies, which are risky and sensitive to the social environment and political economy, has become a major concern for various parties in Indonesia. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has now become an obligation for companies that run their business activities directly or related to natural resources, which can be reported in the sustainability report. The study aims to determine the description of CSR disclosure practices in sustainability reports with the Sharia Enterprise Theory (SET) approach. The measurement indicators used are the GRI Standard and Sharia compliance, which consists of 4 categories in measuring CSR disclosure carried out by the content analysis method. This research was conducted on companies listed on the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). The number of samples in this study was 11 companies consisting of 6 mining companies and five agricultural companies obtained by purposive sampling technique. This study did not include the 2020-2024 period in the analysis because the global economic crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic made companies change their priorities. The results showed that, in general, the concept of SET in CSR disclosure has been applied by companies in terms of habluminallah and habluminannas, with an average disclosure of 47 items out of 123 items per company. The company that disclosed the most was PT Timah Tbk, with a score of 65 items, and the lowest was PT Austindo Tbk, which had 30 items. Our findings have alternative implications for the government in several ways, including strengthening regulations and policies, supervision and law enforcement, incentives and support, and pressure on companies to provide space for public involvement and participation.

Partai Demokrasi Indonesia Perjuangan (PDI-P) is a political party in Indonesia that has gone through an era of change, from the New Order era to the Reform Era. PDI-P has experienced ups and downs in General Election results since the party was founded. PDI-P's continued success to date cannot be separated from the political campaign strategy they implemented. This research discusses the political campaign strategies carried out by the PDI-P using various methods. This research uses a qualitative approach by analyzing various articles discussing the PDI-P political campaign. The results of this research are that the PDI-P experienced a change in campaign strategy between the New Order and the Reformation. PDI-P, which initially had limited means and difficult situations during the New Order era, was able to find various campaign methods since the Reformation era which then led them to success since 2014.

Personal branding of new political parties in Indonesia: PSI, Perindo, and Gelora

In this digital era, social media has become a very effective tool for candidates and political parties to communicate, influence voters, and promote their messages. The tight world of politics requires political parties to create personal branding that differentiates them from other political parties. This research aims to explore in-depth the strategies for building personal branding carried out by new Indonesian political parties on social media. The researcher focused on three new political parties active on social media, namely the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo), and the Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora). This research analyses the official Twitter accounts of the three parties from September 2020 to June 2023. The choice of this period is essential to maintaining data consistency and ensuring that the analysis can find strategies for building personal branding without interference from intense campaign activities. This research uses qualitative methods with a Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) approach. NVivo12 plus software was used to help visualise the data. This research shows that PSI is building its personal branding using a millennial-style approach, Perindo is focusing on welfare issues, and Gelora Party is relying on experienced senior figures. Overall, this research emphasises that an effective personal branding strategy requires a deep understanding of the target audience, selecting relevant issues, and using credible figures.

Democratization or Extra-Constitutionalism: Ideas for Limiting the Term of Office for Chairmen of Political Parties in Indonesia

One aspect of the internal democratization of political parties that is not working is the lack of regeneration of political party leaders. This phenomenon presents oligarchic party practices and gives rise to a very elitist and feudalistic culture since political parties are controlled by the general chairman. This research is qualitative research with normative juridical methods using legal, conceptual, philosophical, and doctrinal approaches. This research is library research that examines and explores regulatory documents, books, journals, and other scientific works that are relevant to the topic of discussion. This article aims to provide new thinking in building internal institutions of democratic political parties. The results of data collection were analyzed in depth and then presented descriptively analytically. The conclusion of the article shows that by limiting the term of office of the general chairman of a political party, party internalization becomes more open. This idea advances party organizations that prioritize healthy competition. The terms of office need to be regulated in the political party law and do not need to be regulated in the political party's articles of association and bylaws for the sake of uniformity and legal certainty. The term of office of a political party leader is limited to 1 (one) period, namely five years, and a maximum of 2 (two) periods, namely ten years, if re-elected as general chairman at the political party conference forum and chairman election.

Critical review is a process of critical evaluation and analysis of a particular work or topic. Political marketing strategies teach parties to be able to differentiate their political products and image through the political marketing process. There are 4 marketing mixes in the world of politics, namely: Product, Promotion, Price, Placement.

Crisis and Organizational Sustainability: Empirical Analysis of the Implication of Transformational Leadership on the Decision to Stay Mediated by the Commitment of the Democratic Party in Indonesia

The research focuses on the impact of transformational leadership on the decision to stay mediated by commitment after a court refusal regarding illegal extraordinary congress involving the outsiders of a political party in Indonesia (in this case, it is the Democratic Party currently led by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono), where this phenomenon is classified as a crisis. Theories and the previous literature pointed out that transformational leadership would significantly affect an individual’s decision to stay with the institution through commitment. Therefore, this research empirically analyzes the hypotheses using quantitative methods on 349 respondents who are central (DPP) and local (DPD and DPC) active committees of the Democratic Party. Respondents are collected using cluster random sampling. Referring to theories and the previous literature, the latent variables of this research are constructed using dimensions. Transformational leadership (TL) has four dimensions which are charisma (idealized influence), inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual considerations. Commitment has three dimensions which are affective, normative, and sustainable commitments. The decision to stay has two dimensions, which are intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. By using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM–PLS), the research revealed that the direct effect shows that transformational leadership and commitment significantly influence the decision to stay. On the other hand, the indirect effect indicates that commitment significantly mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and the decision to stay. The result indicates strong transformational leadership performed by Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono as the chief of the Democratic Party in Indonesia.

The level of public trust in political parties in Indonesia is currently experiencing a decline due to the lack of transparency by political parties regarding financial reports, activities, and the membership structure of political parties. This is exacerbated by many individuals within political parties who are involved in corruption cases or misappropriation of party funds. As a result, the public expects that the budgets of political organizations must be transparent for the public to trust political parties, which are organizations that reflect the hopes and desires of society. The current study seeks to grasp political parties' attempts to attain budget transparency to actualize the concept of good governance from the standpoint of fiqh siyasah. This study is a juris-normative study, which is a legal study that is constructed conceptually through law-in-books by exploring legal and non-legal literature. According to the findings of this study, budget transparency in political parties is one aspect of achieving good governance. In fiqh siyasah, budget transparency is an obligation as ordered by Allah SWT through QS. al-Baqarah (2): 282 and 283. In addition, some hadiths describe the nature of Abu Bakr Ash Siddiq's openness in managing the finances of Baitul Mal. Therefore, transparency of the fund's budget is an obligatory effort by every political party in Indonesia to ensure good governance.

Pemilihan umum yang diselenggarakan untuk memilih anggota lembaga perwakilan rakyat, yang mencakup kegiatan partai politik, merupakan bentuk demokrasi. Dalam hal ini, sebuah negara yang mematuhi sistem demokratis adalah negara yang diatur berdasarkan keinginan dan kehendak rakyat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan penelitian perpustakaan untuk mengumpulkan data sekunder. Pendekatan perpustakaan adalah pendekatan yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh data yang dilakukan melalui proses membaca, menulis, kemudian diproses dengan berbagai sumber literatur, buku, catatan, majalah, untuk memperoleh jawaban atas masalah hukum yang sedang diteliti. Dalam kenyataannya, banyak perilaku partai politik yang tidak sejalan dengan ideologi yang telah ditetapkan. Sistem Rekrutmen dan Pola Kader Anggota Partai Politik saat ini cukup mengkhawatirkan. Banyak fenomena telah menimbulkan keraguan tentang kader partai politik. Dalam hal ini, masalah utamanya adalah bahwa ketergantungan partai politik pada dana dari pemerintah telah mengubah sifat partai politik itu sendiri. Berdasarkan hasil kontemplasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada tiga masalah yang terjadi dalam partai politik di Indonesia, yaitu: 1) Pelemahan ideologi partai politik, 2) Pelemahan Tingkat Kualitas Administrasi dan Pola Rekrutmen Kader Anggota Partai Politik, 3) Krisis dalam mengumpulkan dana partai politik yang dalam dana pemerintah telah mengubah sifat partai politik itu sendiri.

The Challenges of Implementing Building Information Modeling in Indonesia Construction Projects

The future of BIM is exciting and full of challenges, but there are several obstacles to implementing BIM effectively in the construction sector in Indonesia. Thus, the aim of this research is to examine the challenges of implementing BIM on construction projects, especially in Indonesia. Data was obtained from 45 respondents who answered questionnaire questions, including owners, consultants, contractors/subcontractors, private companies and state-owned enterprises representing construction parties in Indonesia. Empirical analysis using the Correlation Coefficient-A Measure of Linier method states that there are seven variables which are challenging variables in implementing BIM in construction projects. The seven challenge variables are BIM technical readiness, organizational paradigm changes regarding BIM, work environment awareness of BIM, compliance on BIM rules, increased competency and skills, consistent application of effective leadership, maturity of BIM utilization. These seven challenge variables have a linear relationship with the application of BIM in Indonesian construction projects. In conclusion, construction project parties in Indonesia must responses positively to these seven challenges to ensure that the implementation of BIM in construction projects in Indonesia is in accordance with the regulations released by the government.

Party change and electoral performance: assessing the impact of intraparty conflict on the Democrat and Hanura parties

This article examines the determining factors inducing the decreasing votes of two renowned political parties in Indonesia: The Democrat Party (PD) and the People Conscience Party (Hanura). As the ruling party in the 2009 election, the PD’s votes declined dramatically in the two following elections. Meanwhile, Hanura failed to exceed the parliamentary threshold in 2019. Methodologically, it is qualitative research by utilizing a comparative case approach. To gather data, this study employed in-depth interviews and documentary analysis and strengthened by NVivo 12plus platform by using Crosstab Query and Wordcloud Analysis to visualize data. By applying the party change indicators developed by Harmel and Janda, the findings revealed that leadership change was the most influential factor toward the poor performance of both parties in the electoral competition. Such leadership change caused a detrimental conflict and changed a dominant faction inside the party. More specifically, the corruption case behaved by the PD’s politicians aggravated the party charm, and the parliamentary threshold was a supporting aspect of the thrown out of Hanura from the parliament.
