Positive Psychology has emphasized on the systematic study of what leads to happiness. Researches in the past mostly focused only on the aspects of human unhappiness, such as, depression, anxiety and emotional disorders etc. But with the growing interest in Positive psychology over the last many years the researchers have conducted many specific studies that have examined the concept, correlates, and predictors ofhappiness. is the mental or emotional state of well-being which is characterized by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. A variety of biological, psychological, religious and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness and identify its sources. Most psychologists consider happiness as one of the six basic emotions. Basic human emotions are: anger, fear, disgust, surprise, happiness and sadness (Disky, 1999). Happy people often feel good and are at ease in both work and leisure. They are able to enjoy the opportunities. is the ability to feel satisfied with one's life, to enjoy oneselfand others. or being subjectively well is the superiority of the positive thoughts and emotions in number about the life of a person (Myers & Diener, 1995). In other words, it is the sum of the satisfaction and positive emotions received by the individuals from their lives (Kangal, 2013). It's essential components are: positive emotions, life satisfaction, lack of negative emotions, and positive relations with others. According to Eleanor Roosevelt Happiness is not a goaL.it's a by-product of a life well lived. Having purposeful life, personal growth and love of others are the components ofthe happiness (Arggle, 2001).Studies indicate that different factors such as education, social success, cognitive and behavioral and personality variables influence happiness. It is widely confirmed that one's level of emotional intelligence is highly correlated with his/her future success and happiness. Palmer (2012) found that higher emotional intelligence was a good predictor of life satisfaction. Emotions are involved in everything people do: every action, decision and judgement. Emotionally intelligent people recognize this and use their thinking to manage their emotions rather than being managed by them. In the past few decades, Intelligence (El) concept has become a very important indicator of a person's happiness and success in work as well as in family life.Psychologists John Mayer and Peter Salovey introduced the concept of emotional intelligence in the early 1990's as a form of social intelligence. According to them, emotions are internal events that coordinate physiological responses, cognitions, and conscious awareness. They defined emotional intelligence as the ability for accessing and/or generating feelings when they facilitate cognitive activities and adaptive action; and the ability to regulate emotions in self and others (Mayer & Salovey, 1997). With the publication of Daniel Goleman's (1995)book Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ the term became widely popular. Goleman (1995) defines emotional intelligence as the ability to understand, describe, receive and restrain the excitement. El thus represents the ability to perceive, appraise, and express emotions accurately and adaptively. Goleman (1998) introduced a mixed model of emotional intelligence that contains four main constructs: Self-awareness- the ability to read one's emotions and recognize their impact; Self-management-involves controlling one's emotions and impulses and adapting to changing circumstances; Social awareness- the ability to sense, understand and react to other's emotions while comprehending social networks; Relationship management- the ability to inspire and influence others while managing conflict. All these add to the happiness level of an individual and help overcome negative state. Law, Wong, and Song (2004) suggest that El consists of a set of abilities that a person uses to understand, regulate, and make use of his or her emotions. …
