Automatic Detection and Classification of Hypertensive Retinopathy with Improved Convolution Neural Network and Improved SVM.

Hypertensive retinopathy (HR) results from the microvascular retinal changes triggered by hypertension, which is the most common leading cause of preventable blindness worldwide. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an automated system for HR detection and evaluation using retinal images. We aimed to propose an automated approach to identify and categorize the various degrees of HR severity. A new network called the spatial convolution module (SCM) combines cross-channel and spatial information, and the convolution operations extract helpful features. The present model is evaluated using publicly accessible datasets ODIR, INSPIREVR, and VICAVR. We applied the augmentation to artificially increase the dataset of 1200 fundus images. The different HR severity levels of normal, mild, moderate, severe, and malignant are finally classified with the reduced time when compared to the existing models because in the proposed model, convolutional layers run only once on the input fundus images, which leads to a speedup and reduces the processing time in detecting the abnormalities in the vascular structure. According to the findings, the improved SVM had the highest detection and classification accuracy rate in the vessel classification with an accuracy of 98.99% and completed the task in 160.4 s. The ten-fold classification achieved the highest accuracy of 98.99%, i.e., 0.27 higher than the five-fold classification accuracy and the improved KNN classifier achieved an accuracy of 98.72%. When computation efficiency is a priority, the proposed model's ability to quickly recognize different HR severity levels is significant.

Feature Extraction Algorithm of Massive Rainstorm Debris Flow Based on Ecological Environment Telemetry

In order to accurately extract the characteristics of debris flow caused by group rainstorms, effectively identify the on-site information of debris flow, and provide a scientific basis for debris flow monitoring, early warning and disaster control, this paper proposes a method for extracting the characteristics of heavy rainstorm debris flow using multiregional ecological environment remote sensing. In the ecological environment where debris flows occur frequently, remote sensing data of heavy rainstorm debris flows are preprocessed using remote sensing technology, providing an important basis for the feature extraction of debris flows. The kernel principal component analysis method and Gabor filters are innovatively used to extract the spectral and texture features of rainstorm and debris flow remote sensing images, and the convolutional neural network structure is improved based on the open source deep learning framework, integrating multilevel features to generate debris flow feature maps. The improved convolution neural network is then used to extract the secondary features of the fusion feature map, and the feature extraction of heavy rainstorm debris flow is realized. The experiment shows that this method can accurately extract the characteristics of heavy rainstorm debris flow. Fused remote sensing images of debris flow effectively ameliorate the problem of insufficient informational content in a single image and improve image clarity. When the Gabor kernel function has eight different directions, the feature extraction effect of the debris flow image in each direction of the heavy rainstorm is the best.

Detection and classification of power system fault in IEEE 30 bus network using wavelet transform and novel hybrid Bees Bayesian Optimization algorithm based Improved convolution Neural network (ICNN)

This work suggests the fault detection and classification technique in an IEEE standard 30 bus network using Wavelet Transform (WT) and Bees Optimization Algorithm (BOA) based Improved Convolution Neural Network (ICNN). The post-fault the voltage and current signals were collected from the Bus via WT, and the proposed model initially identifies important statistical parameters from one cycle of those signals. The WT is a signal analysis algorithm which decomposes power signals into multiple frequency ranges using a series of high-pass and low-pass filters. The extracted features are normalized and supplied as input to ICNN which is used for classification of fault in the system. The ICNN procedure begins with convolution, max poolingand feature analysis, and the final step is feeding the results to the fully connected (FC) layer. A novel hybrid Bees Bayesian Optimization Algorithm (BA-BO) is employed for the tuning of parameters in ICNN. The simulation of IEEE 30 bus system is done by using MATLAB Simulink and then the results were discussed. The proposed technique provides an overall testing accuracy of 99.67% compared to existing methods.

Automatic Detection and Classification of Diabetic Retinopathy Using the Improved Pooling Function in the Convolution Neural Network.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is an eye disease associated with diabetes that can lead to blindness. Early diagnosis is critical to ensure that patients with diabetes are not affected by blindness. Deep learning plays an important role in diagnosing diabetes, reducing the human effort to diagnose and classify diabetic and non-diabetic patients. The main objective of this study was to provide an improved convolution neural network (CNN) model for automatic DR diagnosis from fundus images. The pooling function increases the receptive field of convolution kernels over layers. It reduces computational complexity and memory requirements because it reduces the resolution of feature maps while preserving the essential characteristics required for subsequent layer processing. In this study, an improved pooling function combined with an activation function in the ResNet-50 model was applied to the retina images in autonomous lesion detection with reduced loss and processing time. The improved ResNet-50 model was trained and tested over the two datasets (i.e., APTOS and Kaggle). The proposed model achieved an accuracy of 98.32% for APTOS and 98.71% for Kaggle datasets. It is proven that the proposed model has produced greater accuracy when compared to their state-of-the-art work in diagnosing DR with retinal fundus images.

A global–local context embedding learning based sequence-free framework for state of health estimation of lithium-ion battery

Accurate estimation of the state of health (SOH) of lithium-ion batteries holds significant importance in guaranteeing the stable and secure functioning of electric vehicles. However, existing neural network-based methods suffer from limitations in capturing long-term serial relationships and extracting degenerate features. In light of these challenges, we propose a novel sequence-free framework for performing the SOH estimation task. Technically, a global–local context embedding module is proposed to learn both global- and local-range information context by two convolutional streams with different depths. With this module, a discriminatory feature learning can be guided. By integrating it into the convolution neural network, a novel time series prediction network, called improved convolution neural network (ICNN) is presented, which can effectively establish the mapping relationship between battery charging/discharging curves and battery SOH. Through rigorous experimentation on the CACLE dataset and NASA dataset, we demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed method, achieving mean absolute errors (MAEs) of 0.54% and 1.20% respectively. Our findings highlight the superiority of the proposed method compared to commonly used neural network methods in the domain of battery SOH estimation.

Application of Improved Chameleon Swarm Algorithm and Improved Convolution Neural Network in Diagnosis of Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is affected by the uncommon evolution of skin cells and is a deadly type of cancer. In addition, skin lesion is affected by numerous factors, such as exposure to the sun, infections, allergies, etc. These skin illnesses have become a challenge in therapeutic diagnosis because of virtual resemblances, where image classification is vital to sufficiently diagnose dissimilar lesions. Therefore, early diagnosis is significant and can avert skin cancers like focal cell carcinoma and melanoma. A deep learning-based computer analyzing model can be an automatic solution in medical evaluations to overcome this issue. Hence, this paper suggests an improved chameleon swarm algorithm and convolutional neural networks (ICSA-CNN) for effective skin cancer identification and classification. The data are collected from the Kaggle dataset for classifying skin cancer. Chameleon swarm algorithm is a clustering technique utilized in data mining to the cluster dataset utilizing dynamic systems, and it can resolve constrained and global numerical optimization issues in skin cancer detection.

An Optimized Technique for Image Classification Using Deep Learning

We propose a deep learning image classification model that aimed to serve as a framework and support for the recognition of big datasets of images. This paper explained the many forms of convolution neural networks and the fundamental steps involved in their use in image classification, starting with an analysis of the fundamental theory of neural networks. Secondly, an image classification deep learning model was proposed based on the improved convolution neural network structure, and noise reduction and parameter adjustment were carried out in the feature extraction process based on the current convolution neural network model. Finally, the deep learning model's structural optimisation was done to raise the model's classification efficiency and accuracy. Through studies, the association between the accuracy of many popular network models in image classification and the number of iterations was evaluated in order to confirm the effectiveness of the deep learning model proposed in this study in image classification. The model put forward in this paper was superior to other models in classification accuracy, according to the data. The training set and test set were used to evaluate and analyse the classification accuracy of the deep learning model before and after optimisation. The results demonstrated that, after the model recommended in this study had been fairly optimised, the accuracy of image classification had been substantially enhanced.

An effective approach based on nonlinear spectrum and improved convolution neural network for analog circuit fault diagnosis.

In this work, an effective approach based on a nonlinear output frequency response function (NOFRF) and improved convolution neural network is proposed for analog circuit fault diagnosis. First, the NOFRF spectra, rather than the output of the system, are adopted as the fault information of the analog circuit. Furthermore, to further improve the accuracy and efficiency of analog circuit fault diagnosis, the batch normalization layer and the convolutional block attention module (CBAM) are introduced into the convolution neural network (CNN) to propose a CBAM-CNN, which can automatically extract the fault features from NOFRF spectra, to realize the accurate diagnosis of the analog circuit. The fault diagnosis experiments are carried out on the simulated circuit of Sallen-Key. The results demonstrate that the proposed method can not only improve the accuracy of analog circuit fault diagnosis, but also has strong anti-noise ability.

Multi-Fault Classification and Diagnosis of Rolling Bearing Based on Improved Convolution Neural Network.

At present, the fault diagnosis methods for rolling bearings are all based on research with fewer fault categories, without considering the problem of multiple faults. In practical applications, the coexistence of multiple operating conditions and faults can lead to an increase in classification difficulty and a decrease in diagnostic accuracy. To solve this problem, a fault diagnosis method based on an improved convolution neural network is proposed. The convolution neural network adopts a simple structure of three-layer convolution. The average pooling layer is used to replace the common maximum pooling layer, and the global average pooling layer is used to replace the full connection layer. The BN layer is used to optimize the model. The collected multi-class signals are used as the input of the model, and the improved convolution neural network is used for fault identification and classification of the input signals. The experimental data of XJTU-SY and Paderborn University show that the method proposed in this paper has a good effect on the multi-classification of bearing faults.

An Improved Convolution Neural Network and Modified Regularized K-Means-Based Automatic Lung Nodule Detection and Classification.

If lung cancer is not detected in its initial phases, it can be fatal. However, because of the quantity and structure of its nodules, lung cancer is difficult to detect early. For accurate detections, radiologists require assistance from automated tools. Numerous expert methods have been created over time to assist radiologists in the diagnosis of lung cancer. However, this requires accurate research. Therefore, in this article, we propose a framework to precisely detect lung cancer by categorizing it between benign and malignant nodules. To achieve this objective, an efficient deep-learning algorithm is presented. The presented technique consists of four stages, namely pre-processing, segmentation, classification, and severity stage analysis. Initially, the collected image is given to the pre-processing stage to eliminate the distortion present in the image. Then, the noise-free image is given to the segmentation stage. For segmentation, in this paper, modified regularized K-means (MRKM) clustering algorithm is presented. After the segmentation process, the segmented nodule image is fed to the classification stage to categorize the nodule as benign or malignant (risk nodule). For classification, an improved convolution neural network (ICNN) is presented. The proposed ICNN is designed by modifying CNN with the integration of the adaptive tree seed optimization (ATSO) algorithm. Finally, the stage identification is carried out based on the size of the nodule and we classify the malignant nodule as S1-S4. The presented technique attained the maximum accuracy of 96.5% and performance compared with existing state-of-art methods.

Research on the identification method of safety wearing of electric power workers based on deep learning

Aiming at the difficulties of manual monitoring and compliance with the current wear identification of electric power workers, the detection and identification of safety helmets, work clothes, and insulating gloves are used to carry out normative identification and warning, and a deep learning-based power worker safety wear identification method is proposed in this paper. The AlexNet and Inception are introduced to increase the width and depth of the artificial neural network. At the same time, the ReLU activation function with better performance is used to reduce the amount of network computation, and the Global Average Pooling layer is used to replace the fully connected layer with more parameters. The improved convolution neural network model has a total of 13 layers. In order to prevent the network from overfitting, the Early-stopping mechanism and the L2 regularization method are used to improve the performance of the network model. The experimental results show that the algorithm can achieve a good recognition effect on the staff who do not wear safety according to the regulations in the video, and the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm in practical application are verified.

Intelligent Fault Diagnosis Method for Industrial Processing Equipment by ICECNN-1D

Intelligent algorithm has been widely implemented to effectively diagnose faults in industrial instrument, electrical equipment and mechanical equipment. In addition, the rapid development of sensing technology generated enormous time series signal. Accordingly, diagnosing faults by analyzing time series signal has been widely developed. This paper aims to diagnose faults by applying improved Convolution Neural Network with Compression Enhancement (ICECNN-1D) to analyze time series signal, which effectively considers time series property of signal while diagnosing faults by artificial intelligence. Additionally, a large number of trend features and fluctuation features in high-frequency time series are also considered. the recognition rates of almost other machine learning algorithm are less than 90% in the experiments. Other methods may provide high rate of recognition, but their fluctuation of the recognition rate has varied obviously with different loads, and results provide undesirable ability of generalization under different working conditions. Comparatively, ICECNN-1D model provides high recognition rate and terrific ability of generation while processing time series with high frequency, and its accuracy of the recognition rate fluctuates inconspicuously with different loads.

Research on Wind Turbine Blade Surface Damage Identification Based on Improved Convolution Neural Network

Wind turbine blades are easily affected by the working environment and often show damage features such as cracks and surface shedding. An improved convolution neural network, ED Net, is proposed to identify their damage features. An EAC block based on the improved asymmetric convolution is introduced which strengthens the feature extraction during convolution. A DPCI_SC block, which is improved based on the attention module, is embedded to enhance the ability to obtain spatial location information of the damage. GELU is used as the activation function. The loss function is smoothed and labeled during training. Finally, three sets of experiments were conducted. Experiment 1 confirmed the efficacy of the ED Net for identifying damaged wind turbine blades. Experiment 2 confirmed the efficacy of the relevant improvements proposed in this work. Experiment 3 compares the recognition of wind turbine blade damage by commonly used lightweight networks and shows that the ED Net model proposed has a better performance with an accuracy range of 99.12% to 99.23% and a recall of 99.23%

DACBT: deep learning approach for classification of brain tumors using MRI data in IoT healthcare environment

The classification of brain tumors (BT) is significantly essential for the diagnosis of Brian cancer (BC) in IoT-healthcare systems. Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques based on Computer aided diagnostic systems (CADS) are mostly used for the accurate detection of brain cancer. However, due to the inaccuracy of artificial diagnostic systems, medical professionals are not effectively incorporating them into the diagnosis process of Brain Cancer. In this research study, we proposed a robust brain tumor classification method using Deep Learning (DL) techniques to address the lack of accuracy issue in existing artificial diagnosis systems. In the design of the proposed approach, an improved convolution neural network (CNN) is used to classify brain tumors employing brain magnetic resonance (MR) image data. The model classification performance has improved by incorporating data augmentation and transfer learning methods. The results confirmed that the model obtained high accuracy compared to the baseline models. Based on high predictive results we suggest the proposed model for brain cancer diagnosis in IoT-healthcare systems.

Bearing remaining useful life prediction of fatigue degradation process based on dynamic feature construction

In industry, the fatigue failure of bearings will lead to unexpected shutdown of mechanical equipment. Therefore, it is necessary to predict the remaining useful life (RUL) for guiding the maintenance process. The precision of prediction depends on the construction of degradation features. However, the selection and construction of feature set is complex and changeable, and the selection of degradation index is highly subjective. In the article, the bearing RUL prediction of fatigue degradation process based on dynamic features construction is proposed to solve these two problems. In this method, the degradation process is divided into two stages by the frequency domain analysis. The improved convolution neural network (CNN) by deep mutual learning (DML) is used to extract features automatically for the former stage. The prediction results of the latter stage can be achieved through the long short-term memory (LSTM) network. The average percentage error of prediction on the two data sets is 5.05%. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Deep Learning Model of Image Classification Using Machine Learning

Not only were traditional artificial neural networks and machine learning difficult to meet the processing needs of massive images in feature extraction and model training but also they had low efficiency and low classification accuracy when they were applied to image classification. Therefore, this paper proposed a deep learning model of image classification, which aimed to provide foundation and support for image classification and recognition of large datasets. Firstly, based on the analysis of the basic theory of neural network, this paper expounded the different types of convolution neural network and the basic process of its application in image classification. Secondly, based on the existing convolution neural network model, the noise reduction and parameter adjustment were carried out in the feature extraction process, and an image classification depth learning model was proposed based on the improved convolution neural network structure. Finally, the structure of the deep learning model was optimized to improve the classification efficiency and accuracy of the model. In order to verify the effectiveness of the deep learning model proposed in this paper in image classification, the relationship between the accuracy of several common network models in image classification and the number of iterations was compared through experiments. The results showed that the model proposed in this paper was better than other models in classification accuracy. At the same time, the classification accuracy of the deep learning model before and after optimization was compared and analyzed by using the training set and test set. The results showed that the accuracy of image classification had been greatly improved after the model proposed in this paper had been optimized to a certain extent.

Identification and Classification of Prostate Cancer Identification and Classification Based on Improved Convolution Neural Network.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men worldwide, second only to lung cancer. The most common method used in diagnosing prostate cancer is the microscopic observation of stained biopsies by a pathologist and the Gleason score of the tissue microarray images. However, scoring prostate cancer tissue microarrays by pathologists using Gleason mode under many tissue microarray images is time-consuming, susceptible to subjective factors between different observers, and has low reproducibility. We have used the two most common technologies, deep learning, and computer vision, in this research, as the development of deep learning and computer vision has made pathology computer-aided diagnosis systems more objective and repeatable. Furthermore, the U-Net network, which is used in our study, is the most extensively used network in medical image segmentation. Unlike the classifiers used in previous studies, a region segmentation model based on an improved U-Net network is proposed in our research, which fuses deep and shallow layers through densely connected blocks. At the same time, the features of each scale are supervised. As an outcome of the research, the network parameters can be reduced, the computational efficiency can be improved, and the method's effectiveness is verified on a fully annotated dataset.

Optimization algorithm of CT image edge segmentation using improved convolution neural network.

To address the problem of high failure rate and low accuracy in computed tomography (CT) image edge segmentation, we proposed a CT sequence image edge segmentation optimization algorithm using improved convolution neural network. Firstly, the pattern clustering algorithm is applied to cluster the pixels with relationship in the CT sequence image space to extract the edge information of the real CT image; secondly, Euclidean distance is used to calculate similarity and measure similarity, according to the measurement results, convolution neural network (CNN) hierarchical optimization is carried out to improve the convergence ability of CNN; finally, the pixel classification of CT sequence images is carried out, and the edge segmentation of CT sequence images is optimized according to the classification results. The results show that the overall recognition rate of this method is at a high level. The training time is obviously reduced when the training times exceed 12 times, the recall rate is always about 90%, and the accuracy of image segmentation is high, which solves the problem of large failure rate and low accuracy.
