Supplier transaction, TMT characteristics, and the persistence of earnings: do their relationship contribute towards sustainable performance of Chinese listed manufacturing sector firms?

The construction of supplier transaction is one of the strategic choices of many firms. However, the impact of business strategies on the persistence of earnings remains to be further investigated. The innovation of this paper lies in interpreting the impact of supplier transaction on earnings persistence from the perspective of characteristics of the top management team (TMT). We consider Chinese listed manufacturing firms from 2012 to 2019 to examine the relationship between the supplier transaction and the persistence of earnings. Statistical results show that supplier transaction characteristics of the TMT have a significant moderating effect on the relationship between the supplier transaction and the persistence of earnings. This implies that the behavior of TMT can be vital to the firm in maintaining sustainable performance. The higher age level or longer average tenure of TMT can significantly improve the positive effect of the supplier transaction tenure heterogeneity of TMT that will significantly improve the negative effect. This paper expands the literature on supplier relationship, and corporate earnings from a new perspective that improves the empirical evidence of the upper echelons theory, and also provides evidence support for the construction of supplier relationship and TMT.

Impact of business strategies on in selling products increase in private stores in Hamadan Province, Iran

In today’s competitive world, companies must have great attention to customers and their needs to gain competitive advantage. Methodology: The method used in this research is survey. In this study, sampling size is based on Morgan table which included 50 managers. In this study, to determine the reliability Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was used for the research tool for data collection which was questionnaire. Results: Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the information including frequency, mean, standard deviation as well as inferential statistics including Pearson correlation test were used to verify hypotheses. Conclusion: The results showed that advertising as well as audio advertising have an impact on increasing sales.

The Unsound Theory Behind the Consumer (and Total) Welfare Goal in Antitrust

This is the first installment of a two-part commentary on the New Brandeis School (the “New Brandeisians”) in Antitrust. In this first part, I examine why the New Brandeisians are correct to reject the consumer welfare standard. Instead of arguing, as the New Brandeisians do, that the consumer welfare standard leads to unacceptable outcomes, I argue that the consumer or total welfare standard was theoretically flawed and unrigorous from the start. My basic argument is that antitrust law addresses the impact of business strategies in markets where there are winners and losers. For example, in the classical exclusionary monopolist case, the monopolist’s conduct is enjoined to increase competition in the affected market or markets. As a result of the intervention, consumers benefit, but the monopolist is worse off. One hundred years of analysis by the welfare economists themselves shows that in such situations “welfare” or “consumer welfare” cannot be used as a reliable guide to assess the results of antitrust policy. Pareto Optimality does not apply in these situations because there are losers. Absent an ability to divine “cardinal utility” from observations of market behavior, other approaches such as consumer surplus, and compensating and equivalent variation cannot be coherently extended from the individual level to markets. The Kaldor-Hicks compensation principle that is in standard use in law and economics was created to address problems of interpersonal comparisons of utility and the existence of winners and losers. However, the Kaldor-Hicks compensation principle is also inconsistent. Additional problems with the concept of welfare raised by philosophers, psychologists, and experimental economists are also considered. In light of this literature, the New Brandeisians are correct to reject Judge Bork’s original argument for adoption of the consumer welfare standard, but for deeper reasons than they have expressed thus far.

STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF BUSINESS STRATEGIES ON PERFORMANCE OF BUSINESS COMPANIES

This study investigates the impact of business strategies on performance of business companies.Theoretical studies of this research are collected in the form oflibrarythrough articles, books, magazines and reputable websites.This study uses theresearcher-made questionnaire to assess managers' views inbusiness companies of Tehran.Thisquestionnaire is given to statistical sample after confirming its validity and reliability.The statistical population of this study consists of managers inbusiness companies of Tehran.Sample size is determined based on Kerjcie and Morgan'stable; and random cluster sampling is used to select samples.According to Kerjcie and Morgan's table, 250 individuals are selected asstatistical samples.These areselected by random cluster sampling.The results indicate that the business strategies affect themarket share of company, marketing performance, financial performance and company position among the customers.
