Notwithstanding, there is paucity of reports on oncologic outcomes of RARC with totally ICUD. In this report, we assessed 5-yr survival outcomes of patients who underwent RARC with ICUD at two Institutions. METHODS: We queried our prospectively maintained institutional databases for patients who underwent RARC with ICUD before October 2013. The data sharing was approved by both IRBs. Baseline demographic clinical, perioperative, pathologic and survival data were collected. The only exclusion criteria was “palliative” or “salvage” cystectomy. Pathologic stages were categorized according to the AJCC pathological stage codification system: AJCC 0-II (Group A), AJCC IIIa (Group B), AJCC IIIb (Group C). Kaplan-Meier method was performed to assess stage specific oncologic outcomes; survival rates were computed at 1,2, and 5 yrs after surgery and the log-rank test was applied to assess statistical significance between groups. A stage-specific between center comparison of DFS probabilities was performed. RESULTS: Overall, 113 consecutive patients were included in the analysis. Most of them were men (82%) with a median age of 69 yrs (IQR:61.5/73.5) and median BMI of 27 (IQR: 23.5/29); 22 patients (20.6%) were obese. Median lymph-node yield was 36 (IQR:28/45); orthotopic ileal neobladder was the preferred type of ICUD (56.6%). Baseline demographic, clinical and perioperative data are summarized in Table 1. Overall, 5-yr DFS, CSS and OS probabilities were 58±5%, 61±5% and 54±5%, respectively. At Kaplan-Meier analysis, AJCC stage was a significant predictor of DFS, CSS and OS probabilities (Figure 1; all p<0.001). Stage-specific DFS probabilities were comparable between centers (Figure 2; all p>0.3). CONCLUSIONS: We report 5-yr oncologic outcomes of the largest cohort of patients treated with RARC & ICUD at two tertiary referral centers. According to this preliminary report, survival probabilities seem to be comparable across different Institutions.
