Preface

Due to recent pandemic, the 2022 International Conference on Electronics and Integrated Circuit Technology (EICT 2022) which was planned to be held in Shenzhen, China, was held virtually online during February 25-27, 2022. The decision to hold the virtual conference was made in compliance with many restrictions and regulations that were imposed by countries around the globe. Such restrictions were made to minimize the risk of people contracting or spreading the COVID-19 through physical contact. There were 50 individuals who attended this on-line conference, represented many countries including America, Italy, UK and China.EICT 2022 provided a forum within the international academic and engineering community in the field of Electronics and Integrated Circuit Technology. Focused on hot research topics and difficulties in Electronics and Integrated Circuit Technology, this conference explored cutting-edge Electronics and Integrated Circuit Technology, shared typical study cases and encouraged scientific innovation in this field. Renowned experts and academics in relevant fields were invited to this conference to deliver keynote speeches, present reports and exchange ideas with attendees on research advancements and challenges.During the conference, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including oral presentations, keynote speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. In the second part, we invited two professors as our keynote speakers. Prof. Shaolin Liao, IEEE Senior Member, Sun Yat-sen University, China, performed a speech: The Ultimate of Circuits Design: Electromagnetics. And then we had Dr. Nachappa Gopalsami, IEEE Fellow, Argonne National Laboratory, America. He delivered a speech: Current Trends in Millimeter Wave Sensing. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Electronic technology, Digital electronics, Mechatronics and robotics, Embedded system. All the papers have been through rigorous review and process to meet the requirements of international publication standard.We would like to acknowledge all of those who supported EICT 2022. The help and contribution of each individual and institution was instrumental in the success of the conference. We would like to thank the organizing committee for its valuable inputs in shaping the conference program and reviewing the submitted papers.We sincerely hope that the EICT 2022 turned out to be a forum for excellent discussions that enabled new ideas to come about, promoting collaborative research. Due to recent pandemic, 2021 3rd International Conference on Robotics, Intelligent Control and Artificial Intelligence (ICRICA 2021) was held virtually online on December 03 - 05, 2021. The decision to hold the virtual conference was made in compliance with many restrictions and regulations that were imposed by countries around the globe. Such restrictions were made to minimize the risk of people contracting or spreading the COVID-19 through physical contact. There were 150 individuals who attended this on-line conference, represented many countries.ICRICA 2021 brings together industry professionals and academics from research institute, governmental agencies, and universities around the world to exchange information on advances in Robotics, Intelligent Control and Artificial Intelligence. The objective of the ICRICA 2021 is to facilitate the exchange between researchers and practitioners in the area of Robotics, Intelligent Control and Artificial Intelligence and related technologies, and provides attendees with a unique opportunity to share, discuss, and witness research results, thereby creating a common platform for exchanging ideas and fostering future developments in the field.During the conference, the conference model was divided into three sessions, including oral presentations, keynote speeches, and online Q&A discussion. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given about 5-10 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches. In the second part, we invited three professors as our keynote speakers. Prof. Rüdiger Dillmann, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, German (IEEE Fellow, IROS Fellow). His research interest is in the areas of humanoid robotics and neurorobotics with special emphasis on intelligent, autonomous, and interactive robot behavior generated with the help of machine learning methods and programming by demonstration (PbD). The second keynote speakers, Prof. Xiaofang Yuan, Hunan University, China. His research area includes intelligent control theory and application, electric vehicle control, robot drive control. Lastly, we were glad to invite Prof. Hui Zhang, Hunan University, China as our finale keynote speakers. He is mainly engaged in the research of intelligent robot vision detection, deep learning image recognition and other fields. Their insightful speeches had triggered heated discussion in the third session of the conference. Every participant praised this conference for disseminating useful and insightful knowledge.The proceedings are a compilation of the accepted papers and represent an interesting outcome of the conference. Topics include but are not limited to the following areas: Robot structure design and control, Sensor/actuator networks, Robot kinematics and dynamics, Robot operating system and other related topics. Dr. Ferdo Ivanek [In Memoriam

Dr. Ferdo Ivanek, Life Fellow of IEEE, passed away on 2 October 2021 at the age of 98. He was married to Vojka, who passed away in 2010, and had two sons, Ivan and Željko. His wife was a project manager at Stanford University for decades and accompanied him to many of the IEEE International Microwave Symposia throughout the years.

Women in Networks: Dr. Lili Qiu

Lili Qiu is an assistant managing director at Microsoft Research Asia, in charge of MSRA Shanghai lab, and a professor in the Computer Science (CS) Department at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests are Internet and wireless networks. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Cornell University in 1999 and 2001, respectively. After graduation, she spent 2001–2004 as a researcher in the System & Networking Group at Microsoft Research Redmond. She joined the University of Texas (UT), Austin in 2005, and has founded a vibrant research group working at UT. She is an ACM Fellow and IEEE Fellow. She is honored to serve as the ACM SIGMOBILE Chair. She also received an NSF CAREER award, Google Faculty Research Award, and best paper awards at ACM MobiSys '18 and IEEE ICNP '17.

Preface

We gratefully acknowledge the presence of all participants on the 2021 International Conference on Mechanical Automation and Electronic Information Engineering (MAEIE 2021), which was successfully held in Zhuhai from 24th to 26th September, 2021. MAEIE 2021 aimed to provide a platform for experts and scholars, engineers and technicians, and R&D personnel to share scientific research results and cutting-edge technologies, understand academic development trends, broaden research ideas, strengthen academic research and discussion, and promote cooperation in the industrialization of academic results. MAEIE 2021 focused on professional fields such as Mechanical Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Information Processing, Information Engineering, etc.About 80 participants from academic, high-education institutes and other organizations took part in the conference. The conference model was divided into two sessions, including oral presentations and keynote speeches. In the first part, some scholars, whose submissions were selected as the excellent papers, were given 15 minutes to perform their oral presentations one by one. Then in the second part, keynote speakers were each allocated 30-45 minutes to hold their speeches.In the keynote presentation part, we invited 12 professors as our keynote speakers. The first keynote speaker, Prof. Junlong Chen, IEEE Fellow, from South China University of Technology, China. The second keynote speaker, Prof. Guoliang Chen, from Shenzhen University, China. The others keynote speaker as follow: Prof. Anhui Liang, Shandong University of Science and Technology, China; Prof. Weijia Jia, IEEE Fellow, ACM Fellow, Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, China; Prof. Nong Xiao, from Sun Yat-sen University, China; Prof. Yutong Lu, Sun Yat-sen University, China; Prof. Young Liang, Macau University of Science and Technology, China; Prof. Jianxin Wang, IEEE Senior Member, from Central South University, China; Prof. Xiaofeng Zhu, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China; Prof. Yang Yue, Nankai University, China; Prof. Li Na, from Xi’ dian University, China; Assoc. An Extensive Reference Guide for Terahertz Electronics [Book/Software Reviews

Author Dr. Jae-Sung Rieh received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1999. His dissertation title was “Development of SiGe/Si HBTs and Their Applications to Microwave and Optoelectronics Monolithic Integrated Circuits.” He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Korea’s Seoul National University and worked in the IBM Microelectronics R&D Center, where he was involved in R&D activities in DiGe BiCMOS technologies. He also led the development of the 350-GHz SiGe HBT, the first Si-based transistor to operate in the submillimeter waveband. After he returned to Korea to teach at Korea University, he spent his sabbatical leaves with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and with the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Rieh has received many awards, including the IBM Faculty Award, IEEE Electron Device Society’s George E. Smith Award, and many more. He is a Fellow of IEEE.

HVdc application: A valuable source for education and reference [Book Review

This book provides a valuable update to the first edition of High Voltage Direct Current Transmission. Jovcic is a professor at the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, United Kingdom, where he has been since 2004. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Jovcic is a Fellow of IEEE. His research interests include high-voltage (HV) dc, dc grids, and control systems. High Voltage Direct Current Transmission provides comprehensive coverage of HVdc transmission and in-depth knowledge in key areas for the application of HVdc: power electronics, control engineering, and ac/dc power transmission systems analysis. The application of HVdc transmission is experiencing rapid growth and leading to new technology developments. This second edition provides new material to cover these developments with emphasis on developments going into new field installations. The book is divided into three major sections. The first section covers line commutated converter (LCC) HVdc. This edition includes system topologies and control schemes and adds a discussion of dc grid master controls. This section includes a discussion of dc/ dc converters for connecting systems at different voltage levels and HVdc circuit breaker technologies. The author provides many examples throughout the book. This book is suitable for graduate-level power engineering and power electronics students. It also serves as a valuable reference for researchers in academia and engineers in the industry.
