Red Sports Culture Integrated into Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities Value Characteristics and Implementation Path

Purpose: This study focuses on exploring how the red sports culture is integrated into the ideological education of colleges and universities. Methodology: The main method used in this study was logical analysis as a way to ensure the successful implementation of this study. Findings: Red sports culture refers to the sports and cultural activities led by the Communist Party of China. Red sports culture has gone through three stages: germination, basic establishment and further growth. Its survival conditions need to have certain political guarantee, material foundation, practical foundation and theoretical cornerstone. It is characterized by the spirit of patriotism, the spirit of revolution, and the spirit of practice. Its role is to enrich the content of ideological education in colleges and universities, to strengthen the ideology of ideological education in colleges and universities, and to cultivate a team of talents who are“morally, intellectually, physically, socially and aesthetically”qualified. Value: This study proposes a specific implementation path for better integrating the red sports culture into the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.

Black and (E)raced: socializing high-achieving black students to minimize racism

ABSTRACT Our education system has been ‘whitewashed’, obscuring the talent and spirit of the African Diaspora. Black students often find themselves compelled to conform to an education system that overlooks their identity, offering them an assimilationist strategy. Assimilation is characterized by White frames in educational ideologies, a model built on White elite thinking despite their assertations that knowledge creation is race neutral and indifferent to power dynamics. This study investigates the experiences of high-achieving Black students who minimize the role of race in STEM education. It sheds light on race-avoidance tactics in predominantly White STEM departments which tend to perpetuate racial erasure and systemic racism. The study also identifies a shift among some students who abandoned race-avoiding tactics and became racially consciousness. The paper underscores the urgency to revisit the systemic roots of racism in educational institutions. Drawing from Afrofuturism, the paper suggests the need for a paradigm shift that celebrates Black identities.

The social and ideology education, focus instruction, hands-on learning, and a variety of means, students are cultivated in their political quality, moral character, and sense of social responsibility while it is being guided in understanding the nation’s important policies and social current affairs. Ideological and political disciplines are implementing the problem of transformation within the framework of the major criteria of the new curriculum reform. In the conventional teaching process, students face several challenges in achieving the essential quality of ideological and political education. The artificial intelligence-assisted interactive modeling on the Internet of Things platform (AI-IM-IoT) is able to generate a smart system for ideological and political education, addressing various problems in the current situation. Performance in conventional ideological and political learning platforms, an investigation on the construction of intelligent media ideological and political learning platforms are based on AI technology. Hence AI-IM-IoT has been the Ideology of ideas and beliefs that influence social behavior and can possess an effect on educational achievements. Ideological viewpoints on education can influence educational institutions’ aims, values, and priorities, as well as how resources and opportunities are allocated. Students are encouraged to develop an understanding of social, economic, and political issues via ideological and political education programs.

Navigating the politically charged classroom: Using inquiry to teach contentious social studies

ABSTRACT Teaching social studies during politically volatile times is challenging. This article draws from the findings of an explanatory case study that examined 2 teachers’ instructional choices as they taught contentious social studies. The researchers sought to understand how the teachers navigated conflicting educational ideologies through their instructional choices when designing and delivering inquiry-based instruction. Data consisted of interviews, observations, and artifacts and was analyzed using a thematic approach with Swan et al.’s (2020) Questions, Tasks, and Sources [QTS] Observation Protocol and Pace’s (2021) Framework for Teaching Controversial Issues serving as the analytical framework. From this study, we offer instructional strategies for navigating the challenges of teaching contentious social studies through an inquiry-based curriculum. We note how teachers can craft democratic compelling questions, select sources that contextualize contentious social studies, and plan for formative and summative performance tasks to support more deliberative argumentation.

The epochal significance, content selection, and practical pathways of integrating red stories from the Yan'an period into the daily ideological education of college students

As key figures in the daily ideological and political education of college students, counselors should deepen their study of the Party's history, especially the 13 years of the Party's history in Yan'an, under the guidance of the "Big Ideological and Political Course" framework. While enhancing their personal qualities and abilities, counselors should also help students establish the "Four Correct Understandings", effectively telling red stories from the Yan'an period, including revolutionary history, revolutionary heroes, revolutionary spirit, and science, education, and culture. By collaborating with the main channels of ideological and political education, counselors can enhance students' initiative and foster their subjectivity. Through various forms of daily ideological and political education, counselors guide students to consciously inherit and promote the Yan'an Spirit.

This approach not only enriches students' understanding of key ideological concepts but also encourages them to apply these values in real-world contexts. Through project-based learning, students are actively involved in creating content that merges professional language skills with ideological education, providing a comprehensive educational experience that cultivates both academic knowledge and personal values. The study highlights the significance of combining knowledge acquisition with value education, aiming to produce well-rounded individuals capable of contributing to both domestic and global society.

Teacher Academic Training Systems in Greece and Serbia

This study examines the teacher preparation paradigms of Serbia and Greece, two countries with similar histories and religions but different educational ideologies influenced by their social and cultural backgrounds. The study aims to determine the effect of various settings on teacher preparation, with a particular emphasis on pedagogical approaches and curriculum designs. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study assesses how each system affects student results and teacher effectiveness by combining quantitative data from educational tests like PISA with qualitative views from educators and policymakers. Concerns have been raised regarding the influence of Greece’s reliance on a centralized curriculum on developing critical thinking and practical application abilities in aspiring teachers. On the other hand, Serbia’s adaptable strategy incorporates contemporary teaching approaches, boosting students’ capacity for analysis and practical problem-solving. The report emphasizes the value of stakeholder participation, highlighting Serbia’s successful interactions with parents and educational institutions, which help create a climate conducive to educational change. The study emphasizes the integration of cutting-edge pedagogical approaches and standardized assessments, underscoring the necessity for systemic transformation in teacher training processes to satisfy contemporary educational demands. It also asks for fair resource distribution and sufficient funding to enable enhanced teaching approaches that comply with European standards. Ultimately, our research aims to promote international understanding and cooperation, increase teacher preparation programs, and raise education standards globally.

Spatial-structural inequalities in education: conceptualizations via the international classification of functioning

ABSTRACT Given the role of education in shaping social ideology, there is value in considering how learning spaces affect students' perceptions of inclusivity and social justice. This paper posits that ability as a central focus in education can intersect with marginalization arising from race, gender, class, and indigeneity, towards potential justification of discriminatory ideologies. The International Classification of Functioning (ICF) is applied as a theoretical framework to conceptualize digital or online learning spaces, with the objective of disentangling how ability confounds inclusive pedagogy. Digital learning spaces may grant marginalized students greater autonomy regarding when and how their unique personal condition is disclosed, so that authentic relationship-building can be fostered without a power hierarchy between peers. Additionally, the ICF illustrates how structural-spatial origins of ability limitations lead to solutions which can present universal benefits to individuals regardless of health condition, serving to eliminate a segregated binary based on a traditional label of deficit/disability. Virtual or remote engagement also helps eliminate transportation barriers associated with accessing the learning space, which may influence unfounded assumptions on effort and legitimacy. In combination, the ICF demonstrates how restructuring of learning spaces emerges with the capacity to remove disabilities, towards enhancing participation in education and in society.

CHILDREN'S LITERATURE AS AN INSTRUMENT OF FORMATION OF THE IDEAL OF A SOVIET CITIZEN(on the example of Kazakh children's literature of 1950-1980)

The article deals with the ways of influence of the state-party system of the Soviet state on the ideological education of children through the use of children's literature. The subject of the study is Kazakh children's literature of the Soviet period, which is an important part of Kazakh culture and literature of that time. Archival documents and works of writers served as materials. Historical-systemic, historical-comparative methods of research were used. In the USSR children's literature was not only addressed to the reader under the age of 16-18 years, but at the same time it had an important ideological function from the point of view of the state. Party and state bodies on a systematic basis made children's literature a tool for educating children to become citizens of the country with clear guidelines. All kinds of culture in the USSR, including children's literature, were called upon to solve the task of building a new society and educating a new man. Articles by S. Kirabayev, A. Tazhibayev, A.Nurkatov, S. Seitov, A. Derbisalin, S. Ordaliyev, B. Sakhariyev, N. Gabdullin on various genres of Kazakh children's literature are published on the pages of newspapers and magazines. Children, forming their personality under the influence of Soviet literature, were to become part of the communist society, so the Communist Party of the USSR and the Soviet government gave children's literature an important role in the education of young people. Children's book becomes an independent artistic phenomenon and is considered as a powerful tool in the ideological struggle for the formation of a new man, and childhood -as the most important period contributing to the education of a person who meets the highest ideals of the Soviet society.

Research on the Collaborative Education of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Chinese Private Universities

In the context of education in the new era, the development of Chinese private universities has been attracting ever-increasing attention. As the core courses for cultivating students' moral character and values in colleges and universities, the collaborative education efficacy of ideological and political theory courses holds significant sway over the quality of talent cultivation in private universities. This paper endeavors to conduct an in-depth exploration into the current status, challenges, and optimization pathways of the collaborative education of ideological and political theory courses in Chinese private universities. Through comprehensive analysis, it is revealed that there exist a multitude of issues in the collaborative education of ideological and political theory courses in private universities, such as feeble collaborative awareness, sluggish platform construction, and defective institutional mechanisms. In light of these problems, corresponding optimization strategies have been formulated, which encompass enhancing the awareness of collaborative education, constructing diverse collaborative education platforms, and refining the institutional mechanisms of collaborative education, with the anticipation of furnishing valuable references for private universities to elevate the level of collaborative education of ideological and political theory courses.

The method of assessment gives us information about the activities that constitute the educational process. It is also a declaration of educational ideology, determined by the principles included in regulations and school documents. In light of contemporary pedagogical theories, the communicative aspect of assessment, including the assessment of written assignments, should be valued in teaching. The article describes the attitudes of trainee teachers towards the assessment included in their internship reports. According to the reports, excessive formalism related to the evaluation and the perspective of exams destroys the creativity of students and results in schematic essays. Moreover, a similar pattern applies to the essays of university students shaped during the educational process. As a remedy, the author suggested a return to the method of writing practice, included in the article in the context of creative writing. Due to this method, the new outcome of a pedagogical context is achieved. The text contains examples of students’ works created using the described method.

The study proposes a model for curriculum design that emphasizes the inclusion of global citizenship principles alongside language proficiency, offering recommendations for curriculum developers, educators, and policymakers. Case studies from universities that have successfully implemented such approaches are presented, demonstrating the benefits of combining ideological education with English instruction. The paper also addresses challenges faced by educators, such as the discomfort students may feel when discussing sensitive topics, and suggests strategies for overcoming these challenges. Finally, the paper discusses the implications for future research on the impact of ideological education on global citizenship and language acquisition.

Research on the Reform Path of Ideological and Political Education in Tourism English Courses in Higher Vocational Education

Tourism English in higher vocational education has profound humanistic, strong professional orientation, and instrumental characteristics. Through analyzing the current situation of ideological and political teaching in Tourism English courses in higher vocational education, it is found that there are too few ideological and political elements in the curriculum, the skills teaching and ideological education are not unified, and the ideological and political education in the curriculum tends to be empty preaching. The reasons for this are the weak ideological and political awareness of teachers, the emphasis on skills in textbooks over ideological and political education, and the conservatism of teaching methods. Based on the requirements of curriculum ideological and political education and teaching reform, a teaching reform practice path is constructed from four aspects: anchoring curriculum ideological and political goals, improving teachers’ ideological and political awareness and educational ability, creating ideological and political-oriented textbook resources, and integrating ideological and political teaching methods through multiple channels throughout the entire process, in order to cultivate students with patriotism, international vision, and professional skills.

Part 1 of 2: This series of articles seeks to present a coherent pedagogical framework for equipping disciplers in local congregations. Shortcomings in the equipping ministry may be attributable to churches’ pedagogical paradigms. Part 1 critically navigates through four divergent pedagogical ideologies—scholar academic, social efficiency, learner centered, and social reconstruction—examining their implications for a holistic approach to equipping. The article concludes with practical implications for equipping disciplers in local congregations. This study was conducted within the context of Baptist churches in Victoria, Australia.

The development of "Curriculum-based Ideological and Political Education" (CIPE) is in full swing. As part of an all-round educational approach, the integration of ideological and political education into the Business English Translation course is both necessary and significant. How to effectively embed ideological elements into business English translation teaching has become a pressing question for educators in this field. Based on CIPE theories and translation teaching theories, and considering the specific characteristics of the Business English Translation course, this paper explores the integration pathways from four perspectives: syllabus design, teaching content, teaching methodology, and evaluation mechanisms.
