Thorax CT Scan Examination Procedure In Lung Tumor Cases At Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar

Background: A CT scan is a media imaging tool that uses x-rays to obtain images/photos inside the body. Thorax CT Scan is performed to identify existing conditions in the mediastinum of the lungs. Therefore, the use of Slice Thickness is very influential in looking at the image quality of a Thorax CT Scan. Methods: This research uses qualitative research with a case study research design to investigate phenomena that occur in real life contexts using various sources as evidence. Results: The result of this research is that the use of a Slice Thickness of 3 mm in viewing image quality is good enough to display the structure of the anatomical image so that it can diagnose existing pathology. Conclusions: The Thorax CT Scan examination procedure in lung tumor cases at Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital has followed the applicable SOP. The results of the image quality using a Slice Thickness of 3 mm are quite good in diagnosing the patient's disease.

Asuhan Kebidanan Antenatal Pada Ny “S” Dengan Hiperemesis Gravidarum Tingkat I di Rumah Sakit Bhayangkara Kota Makassar

Data obtained at the South Sulawesi Provincial Office of the number of maternal deaths in 2014 as many as 77 people with the most common cause is bleeding which is 40 people (51.94%), hypertension in pregnancy 21 people (27.27%), infection 1 person (1.29%) and other causes 15 people (19.48%). Data obtained from the Medical Record of Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital from the period January to December 2017 the incidence of Hyperemesis Gravidarum 10 people out of 450 (2.22%) while January to December 2018 the incidence of Hyperemesis Gravidarum 4 people out of 240 pregnant women (1.67%). The aim is to carry out midwifery care on Mrs. "S" pregnancy 14 weeks 4 days with Hyperemesis Gravidarum level I at Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital by using the Midwifery Management approach according to the authority of the midwife. This type of research is a case study and the methods used are literature study, case study, documentation study, discussion. The results of the evaluation after treatment on August 07, 2018, namely the general condition of the mother has improved, nausea and vomiting has decreased, vital signs are normal, dehydration has been resolved, abdominal enlargement according to gestational age and the mother understands the explanation and recommendations that have been given.

Thoracic radiography in pediatric COVID-19 cases at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, Makassar in 2020-2021

Link of Video Abstract: https://youtu.be/hCLGE3-eNjw Background: Computed tomography (CT) as a chest radiographic examination has emerged as a crucial procedure for screening, diagnosing, and monitoring COVID-19 patients. This study aims to determine the radiographic appearance of thoracic imaging in pediatric cases of COVID-19 at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia. Methods: This study is an observational study design that uses secondary data from medical records to examine the radiographic appearance of thoracic imaging in pediatric patients with COVID-19 infection. The study was conducted at the Radiology Department of Wahidin Sudirohusodo General Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia, from January 1st 2020, to December 31st 2021. The population included all pediatric patients with positive SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR results and a chest X-ray examination sent for thoracic imaging examination. The study sample was taken from all accessible populations that met the study criteria until the end of the study period. Results: A total of 147 samples (51.05%) showed abnormalities or pathological lesions on thoracic radiography, with consolidation being the most common finding (27.77%) distributed diffusely in both unilateral and bilateral regions. The rarest pathological finding was pleural effusion in 22 samples (7.63%). Conversely, 141 samples (48.95%) showed normal results on thoracic radiography examination. In the age group of 0-<1 month, 46 samples (55.43%) showed abnormalities on thoracic radiography, with consolidation being the most common finding in this age group, found in 30 samples (36.14%). Conclusion: This study showed that most children with COVID-19 symptoms exhibit abnormalities on thoracic radiography. However, these findings are not specific, and therefore, thoracic radiography cannot be used for screening or as a first-line diagnostic examination.

Voluntary and Non-Voluntary Blood Donations Employees at Sentosa Mother and Child Hospital Makassar

The goal of this study is to determine whether or not the staff of Sentosa Mother and Child Hospital in Makassar voluntarily donate blood. Sentosa Mother and Child Hospital in Makassar hosted this study. This study used a number of different research strategies. 53 participants make up the sample size for this study. According to the results of this research, According to the data, a total of 48 respondents rated their level of awareness as excellent, while 50 respondents rated their level of knowledge as excellent, and 51 respondents rated their level of understanding of the reasons why people do not donate as excellent. Research The majority of adults are well-informed, have positive views about blood donation, and regularly give blood on their own will. Lack of nursing during pregnancy, advanced age, sickness, and lack of free time are among reasons why people do not give blood. There is also a statistically significant relationship between gender and attitude level and blood donation behavior in this research. Local, national, and transfusion organizations need to implement measures to improve the education of individuals and inspire them to voluntarily provide blood. The study's findings on what makes people more or less likely to give blood are timely in light of the current epidemic. We need to address them to increase blood donations in this scenario.

Potential fraud and its’ prevention in the implementation of national health insurance at Dadi Regional Hospita

The National Health Insurance program started running in Indonesia on January 1, 2014. Along with the increasing number of National Health Insurance participants and health facilities, more criticism has emerged from various parties, including from National Health Insurance providers regarding the alleged fraud. Fraud can have a negative effect on finances, the standard of medical care, and the perpetrator's reputation. This study's goal was to assess the likelihood that fraud may occur at Dadi Regional Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia. The study also explored the procedures and policies in place for preventing the fraud. This qualitative study employed phenomenological design. The results of the study show that there is a fraud prevention system at Dadi Regional Hospital in the form of policy and guideline formulation, a culture of prevention, implementation of quality control, and cost control. Even though they already have a prevention system in place, there is still some lack of information being disseminated about the fraud prevention team established. There are still frequent discrepancies between the diagnosis code input in the National Health Insurance system and the patient's diagnosis Hence, the Internal Monitoring Unit is still in the process of establishing a fraud prevention system

The Correlation Of Unsafe Action And Unsafe Condition On Work Accident Among Nurses At Dr Tadjuddin Chalid Hospital Makassar

Nurses working in hospital settings face a heightened susceptibility to work-related accidents, which primarily stem from two underlying factors: unsafe behaviour and hazardous conditions. Work accident data at Dr Tadjuddin Chalid, there are 12 reported cases of work accidents in 2021. The objective of this study was to establish the correlation between unsafe actions, unsafe conditions, and the frequency of work accidents among nurses at Dr Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar Hospital. The research methodology employed for this investigation was observational, adopting a cross-sectional approach. The targeted population encompassed 205 individuals, with a final sample size of 136 nurses being involved in this research endeavour. The sample is taken using a simple random sampling method. Respondent data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi-square test to see the relationship between independent variables, namely unsafe actions (perceptions, work experience, work stress, work shifts and supervision) and unsafe conditions (work environment, tools/materials and dangerous unsafe environment) with the occurrence of work accidents. The findings indicated a notable correlation between unsafe behaviour and work accidents (p-value = 0.001), alongside a significant relationship between unsafe conditions and work accidents (p-value = 0.007). In summation, it can be concluded that both unsafe behaviour and unsafe conditions are connected to the incidence of work accidents at Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar Hospital. It is recommended that the hospital emphasizes enhancing the work environment's conditions and elevating the quality of training and supervision. These measures are essential for mitigating the prevalence of work accidents among nurses.

Analysis of the Effect of Work Stress and Workload on Work Performance in FMC Bogor Hospital Nurses in 2023

The hospital provides services in inpatient, outpatient and emergency departments. The increase in the number of hospitals every year from 2016 amounted to 2046, expanding in 2021 to a total of 2514 public hospitals in Indonesia. (Statistics Center data for 2016-2021). This shows that the level of hospital competition is getting tighter, so the demands for hospitals to improve nurse performance are getting higher. Work performance can be affected by several things, including stress and workload based; research in local Indian hospitals showed 34% of nurses experienced moderate stress, and as many as 2% experienced high stress, to cause physical and mental health problems; another study involving nurse subjects at Makassar hospital also showed nurses who experienced stress and felt a heavy workload until work performance decreased by 91.7%. This study aims to see the relationship and significant influence between work stress and nurse workload on nurses' work performance. The research method is a cross-sectional analytical study and a method of research sampling with total sampling techniques. The results of univariate studies showed that most subjects were female, 65.7%, age range 26-30 years, high level of work stress (53.9%), and moderate workload (76.3%). The bivariate results in this study showed a relationship between nurses' work stress and workload (p value 0.024). Research shows no workload relationship to work performance (p value 0.84). The results of multivariate analysis with logistic regression showed that the variable work stress was associated with p value 0.011, with high stress having 11,014 times and low stress 3.522 against low work performance. The conclusion of the study can be seen in the relationship of work performance variables to stress, and high stress causes nurses to have a risk of 11,014 times experiencing low work performance.

Implementation of Green Human Resource Management in Improving Environmental Performance at Hospital in Makassar

Environmental performance is one of the factors in the Environmental Quality Index. Most of the previous research on environmental performance and GHRM was conducted in the analysis unit of the manufacturing industry, while other industrial fields have not been studied much including hospitals. In fact, the hospital is one of the fields of business that is quite related to the environment. This lesson aims to analyze the effect of GHRM which consists of Green Recruitment and Selection, Green Training, and Green Compensation variables partially or together on the environmental performance of hospitals in Makassar City. The Grand Theory used in this research is Ecocentrism Theory and Triple Bottom Line. The population in this study were hospital employees at government hospitals in Makassar City, amounting to 2,270 people. By using the Slovin formula and the stratified proportional random sampling method, the number of samples that became respondents in this study was 248 people. This research is processed with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results show that Green Recruitment and Selection, Green Training, and Green Compensation partially have a significant effect on environmental performance in hospitals in Makassar City. The results also show that Green Recruitment and Selection, Green Training, and Green Compensation together also have a significant effect on environmental performance.

Characteristics Sufferer Ovarian Cancer at Ibnu Sina Hospital, Makassar

Ovarian cancer is condition caused by abnormal tissue that growth in ovary . Ovary is female reproductive organs where eggs are produced. There is three Ovarian cancer is classified as an epithelial tumor that develops on the surface of the ovary, originating germ cell tumors from in producing cells egg can found in women young, and tumors of stromal origin from cells that have hormone womanhood namely estrogen and progesterone. Objective to find out the characteristics of ovarian cancer sufferers at Ibnu Sina Makassar Hospital. Method this research is a descriptive research with design studies cross sectional , the researcher will collect secondary data through record medical patient ovarian cancer at Ibnu Sina Makassar Hospital. The results shows that from 90 samples, characteristics patients based on age the most is 46-55 years totaling 29 people (32.2%), marital status is already married totaling 76 people (84.4%), symptoms clinical is stomach grow totaling 55 people (61.1%), stage of cancer is stage IIIC totaling 32 people (35.6%), type histopathology is an epithelial tumor surface totaling 73 people (81.1%), and most abdominal ultrasound images on smooth tumor walls totaling 48 people (53.3%), no septate totaling 37 people (41.1%), echogenicity mixed echoic totaling 38 people (42.2%). Can concluded that characteristics the most found at the age of 46-55 years, marital status is already married, symptom clinical is stomach enlarged, cancerous stage is stage IIIC, type histopathology is an epithelial tumor surface, and abdominal ultrasound image of the smooth tumor wall, no septate, echogenicity mixed echoic.

Effect of Medical Rehabilitation Services on Pain Intensity in Low Back Pain Patients

Background: Low back pain is a symptom that is not directly related to mortality but is a cause of morbidity. The incidence of LBP was reviewed based on patient visits to several hospitals in Indonesia, ranging from 3-17%. The purpose of this research is to Effect of Medical Rehabilitation Services on Pain Intensity in Low Back Pain Patients.
 Method: This type of research includes quantitative research with a cross sectional approach. Data collection is done through medical records. The research sample was all patients diagnosed with low back pain who were treated at the medical rehabilitation polyclinic at the Ibnu Sina Makassar Hospital within 4 years (2019-2022). Data analysis was carried out, namely univariate and bivariate analysis using the Paired t-test.
 Results: The research results obtained 31 samples that met the inclusion criteria and showed that there was an effect of medical rehabilitation on reducing the low back pain scale in patients with low back pain (p=0.00).
 Conclusion: There is an effect of medical rehabilitation on decreasing the low back pain scale in patients with low back pain.

Analysis of the Physical and Mental Workload of Nurses with the Implementation of Patient Safety During the Covid-19 Pandemic

The workload of nurses in hospitals encompasses both physical and mental aspects. Physical tasks include tasks such as lifting patients, administering infusions, monitoring vital signs, and administering oxygen, among others. Meanwhile, mental workload involves dealing with job complexity, providing mental and emotional support to patients and their families, especially those undergoing operations or in critical condition, employing specialized skills in patient care, and establishing effective communication with patients and their families. This study aims to examine the physical and mental workload of nurses in relation to the implementation of patient safety during the COVID-19 pandemic at Labuan Baji Hospital in Makassar. The research design employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, and the study sample consisted of 36 respondents. The objective of this study is to explore the relationship between the independent variables (mental workload and physical workload) and the dependent variable (implementation of patient safety). The study findings reveal a p-value of 0.409 for the relationship between physical workload and the implementation of patient safety, and a p-value of 0.069 for the relationship between mental workload and the implementation of patient safety. In conclusion, this study does not find a significant relationship between physical workload and the application of patient safety in the inpatient ward of Labuan Baji General Hospital in Makassar. Additionally, no significant relationship is observed between mental workload and the implementation of patient safety in the same setting. The results of this study contribute to enhancing understanding of patient safety within hospitals and its association with the workload of nurses.

Relationship Between Service Quality and Patient Loyality In The Installation of Labuang Baji Hospital Makassar

Service quality is measured by how well it meets the target audience's expectations. There seems to be some variation in the number of inpatients, as the number of re-hospitalized patients at Labuang Baji Makassar Hospital fell from 6,245 in 2019 to 5,448 in 2020 and 6,145 in 2021. The hospital is faced with a dilemma with the declining number of outpatient visits. The hospital's ability to operate and the quality of services provided to inpatients over the past year will be affected by the decrease in the number of patients treated at the hospital. Researchers at Labuang Baji General Hospital in Makassar set out to explore this question in order to better serve inpatients. This study used a cross-sectional descriptive quantitative research design. A total of 512 participants and 225 replies were included in the analysis. Bivariate analysis using Chi-Square test. With a p-value of 0.042 for professionalism and skill, a p-value of 0.042 for attitude and behavior, a p-value of 0.049 for reliability and trust, a p-value of 0.047 for service recovery, and p-value 0.027 for communication, this study found a correlation between service quality and patient loyalty. With a p value of 0.057, physical variables are considered unimportant. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between professionalism and skill, attitude and behavior, reliability and trustworthiness, service recovery, communication with patient loyalty.

CLINICAL NURSES’ MORAL COURAGE IN TENURE OF NURSES: AN ANALITYC SURVEY

Background: The complexity of services that nurses must provide nowadays encourages nurses to develop their moral courage. A review of the literature reveals that no studies have been conducted to evaluate the association between clinical nurse tenure and their level of moral courage.
 Objectives: this study is to assess correlation between the tenure of nurses and the level of moral courage.
 Methods: analytic survey research at 5 hospitals in Makassar, including private and government hospitals with a total sample of 405 nurses. The sampling technique used multistage random sampling. The variables measured were tenure of nurses and the level of moral courage of nurses. The Professional Moral Courage Questionnaire is used for the variable moral courage (Cronbach 'alpha: 0.756). Data analysis using Mann Whitney test.
 Results: The majority of nurses with long and new tenure had moderate moral courage (new tenure 79 nurses; length tenure 238 nurses), and there was no significant difference in the moral courage level of nurses with long and new tenure (p=0.294).
 Conclusion: Considering the findings that nurse tenure has no effect on moral courage, nursing managers can consistently boost nurses' moral courage through external stimuli. A nurse who cannot face various ethical dilemmas in providing daily nursing care can result in moral distress.

Pengaruh Edukasi Pola Makan dan Pola Hidup Bersih dan Sehat terhadap Penyembuhan Pasien Demam Tifoid di RS Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Makassar

Typhoid fever is one of the 10 most inpatients in Ibnu Sina Hospital in Makassar. A dietary habit and a less clean and health life behavior cause Salmonella typhi germs to easily enter the digestive tract through fecal andoral passages that enter the human body from contaminated food and drink. This study aims to determine the influence of dietary education and a clean and healthy lifestyle on the healing of typhoid fever patients at Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital Makassar. Type of research used observational analytics with a cross-sectional study approach. The sampling technique uses a total sampling of 30 sampels and is processed using the Fisher test. From the statistical data, it shows that there is a significant influence of dietary habit on healing typhoid fever patients with a r value = 0.000, while for a clean and healthy life behavior, it shows no influence before and after education with a r value = 0.330.

Nurses’ Caring Behavior Based on Personality

Psychological factors, including the characteristics of personality, influence caring behaviour. In this case, nurses can be assessed for their caring behaviour in nursing services through their personality characteristics. The characteristics of a nurse's personality influence the provision of the quality of nursing services carried out. This study aimed to determine the relationship between personality characteristics and hospital nurses' caring behaviour. A cross-sectional study was adopted involving 72 nurses of a Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected from Caring Behavior Assessment (CBA) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) test results. Statistical analysis used the chi-square test. The study indicated that most nurses were extroverts (66,7%) and had a caring attitude. Based on the chi-square statistical test, a value of p = 0.000 (α = 0.05) was obtained, meaning a significant relationship exists between personality characteristics and caring behaviour. Extrovert personality types care more compared to introvert personality types because their attitudes are intelligent in speaking, anxiety-free, not easily embarrassed, not awkward, friendly, gregarious, able to cooperate, adaptable, flexible, and usually conservative. Therefore, this study recommends hiring nurses who have extrovert characteristics.

Comparative Study of Food Services Between State and Private Islamic Hospitals in Makassar

Institutional and industrial food delivery is an integrated program consisting of planning, procuring, storing, processing foodstuffs, and serving or serving food on a large scale. This feeding activity must be guided by the PGRS to ensure quality food so that patients can accelerate the healing process. The implementation of institutional food even though it is guided by PGRS, in fact in the field there are differences in its application, especially in hospital nutrition installations. This study aims to compare the management of food organizations and services in the nutrition installation of Islamic hospitals and general hospitals. This research is a type of qualitative research in May 2022 with a demonology approach, namely describing the implementation of management in food delivery activities at the Nutrition Installation of Faisal Islamic Hospital and Pelamonia Hospital. The subjects in this study were the head of the hospital, processing personnel, nutritionists, waiters and patients' families. The study of data collection through in-depth interviews using a list of questions. Differences in the implementation of management in food delivery activities at the Nutrition Installation of Faisal Islamic Hospital and Pelamonia Hospital which include good kitchen requirements, the needs of officers in nutrition installations, planning for food needs, procurement of foodstuffs, officers who process foodstuffs, prerequisites for processing foodstuffs, and food distribution officers. : It is expected for the Faisal Islamic Hospital and Pelamonia Hospital to evaluate by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 73 of 2013 concerning Guidelines for Hospital Nutrition Services.

Cancer Incidence and Mortality in a Tertiary Hospital in Indonesia: An 18-Year Data Review.

Every population, regardless of wealth or social development, faces the major health issue of cancer. Cancer incidence and mortality differ by region and period. Thus, this study aimed to determine the characteristics, incidence, and mortality of various cancers at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital, a referral center hospital in Makassar, Indonesia. This study employed a descriptive research design using secondary data recorded at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia, between January 2002 and December 2019. We classified the 7824 cancer patients in our study into solid and non-solid cancer groups. The incidence of solid cancer (79.3%) was higher than that of non-solid cancer (20.7%), causing 1063 deaths, or 61.7%, of all cancer-related deaths. There were 6083 (77.7%) cases of cancer survival. The cancers with the highest incidence were breast cancer (1008 cases [12.9%]), leukemia (683 cases [8.7%]), and cervical cancer (631 cases [8.1%]). Breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers were the most frequent cancers in female patients. Leukemia was the most frequent cancer in male patients, followed by colorectal and liver cancers. A region-based statistical record of cancer incidence and mortality is vital and useful to prioritizing cancer treatment at a given time.

HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN PERAWAT DENGAN PENERAPAN PATIENT SAFETY

Nurses' knowledge about patient safety is very important because nurses must show a positive attitude in supporting patient safety programs so that they carry out nursing practices safely. Patient Safety is a top priority in health services and is the first step to improve service quality and is related to hospital quality and image. In Indonesia alone, new incident reports were recorded at the Hospital Patient Safety Committee (KKPRS) of incidents from September 2013 to August 2014 as many as 145 incidents due to medical error cases. RSUD Haji Makassar has one of the programs in infection prevention and control related to health services but it has not been fully realized. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of nurses in the class 3 treatment room at the Haji Makassar Hospital with efforts to implement patient safety. The type of research used is cross sectional using a descriptive approach. Based on the results of the analysis, there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and the application of patient safety with a p-value of 0.006 <0.05. It is recommended to the hospital to organize education, training, and socialization to all health workers regarding efforts to implement patient safety, especially to nurses in order to increase nurses' knowledge regarding the application of patient safety

Pengaruh Employee Engagement Terhadap Turnover Intention Perawat Dari RS Grestelina Makassar Tahun 2022

Turnover intention is the degree of tendency of the attitude that employees have to find a new job elsewhere or the existence of a plan to leave the company within a predetermined period. A high turnover rate will have a negative impact on the organization, including the loss of quality human resources, an increase in human resource costs in the form of training costs that have been invested in employees who leave to the cost of recruitment and retraining and the loss of work culture values in the company. One way to reduce the high turnover intention of the workforce by increasing the positive attachment of individual employees to the organization and organizational value is called Employee Engagement. This study aims to analyze the effect of employee engagement on the turnover intention of nurses at Grestelina Hospital Makassar. The type of research carried out is quantitative research using observational studies with a cross sectional study design. The sample in this study used a total sampling of 188 nurses at Grestelina Makassar Hospital. The results showed that the turnover intention of nurses at Grestelina Hospital was 50.5% with the most influential dimension on turnover intention from the employee engagement variable, namely dedication with a sig value of 0.045. The conclusion that employee engagement of 0.019<0.05 with a value of 12.6%, had a significant effect on the turnover intention of nurses at Grestelina Hospital Makassar. Researchers can then conduct research with qualitative methods to dig deeper into research variables.

The Effect of Complementary Alternative Medicine for Anxiety on Cancer Patients

Cancer is one of the main causes of mortality worldwide. Therefore, cancer is often associated with anxiety which can interfere with the quality of life in cancer patients. Anxiety causes dizziness, fast heart rate, difficulty breathing, and trembling. This study aimed to determine the anxiety of cancer patients receiving chamomile aromatherapy interventions. This type of research was quantitative research, using a quasi-experimental research design with a pre and posttest design without a control group. Scheme of pre-posttest design research design. The results of a study of 75 cancer patients at Stella Maris Makassar Hospital using the Wilcoxon alternative test showed that the p-value was 0.001 <0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of chamomile aromatherapy on the level of anxiety in cancer patients. The analysis results obtained on the level of anxiety experienced by cancer patients before being given chamomile aromatherapy, namely as much as 45.3% experienced moderate anxiety and after being given chamomile aromatherapy as much as 8% experienced moderate anxiety. This shows that there is a significant change in the anxiety level of the respondents after being given chamomile aromatherapy.
