Can Buginese values foster the organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) of civil servants in local hospital in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia

This study aimed to explore the role of cultural values of Buginese in creating the OCB of civil servants at the local hospital in Makassar city, Indonesia. It was a cross-sectional study. The population was 265, and 106 sample was selected from all Buginese staff in a hospital. Data were analyzed by correlation test, Pearson correlation and by linear regression test method using statistical analysis program. The results showed that cultural value and OCB correlated (0.001<0.05), the power distance, uncertainty avoidance, and collectivism variable shows the greatest influence on OCB with a p-value <0.05. In conclusion, there was a relationship between siri na pesse value of Buginese and OCB.

ANALISIS KUALITAS PELAYANAN KEPERAWATAN DENGAN LOYALITAS PASIEN DI RSU BAHAGIA MAKASSAR

This study aims to determine the relationship between the quality of nursing services and patient loyalty at the Bahagia Makassar Hospital. This study uses a cross sectional method. The sample was chosen by purposive sampling technique as many as 77 respondents in the inpatient room of RSU Bahagia Makassar. Data collection is done through a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate using Chi Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between responsiveness (ρ = 0,000), assurance (ρ = 0,000), and empaty (ρ = 0,000) with patient loyalty in the inpatient room of RSU Bahagia Makassar and there was no correlation between reabillity (ρ = 0.090) and tangible (ρ = 0.090) with patient loyalty in the inpatient room of RSU Bahagia Makassar. Empaty has the most close relationship with patient loyality in the inpatient room. For this reason, it is recommended for nursing management of Bahagia Makassar Hospital to maintain the attitude of respondents who are already good, it is necessary to make efforts to improve service quality continuously.

The Effect of Educational Media Development in Increasing Knowledge and Attitudes on Pregnancy Complications at Sayang Rakyat Hospital in Makassar

BACKGROUND: Each pregnancy and childbirth has complication risks. These complications are accompanying pathological incidences that might cause maternal mortality.&#x0D; AIM: This research aims to determine the effect of educational media development in increasing knowledge and attitudes about complications of pregnancy and childbirth in pregnant women.&#x0D; METHODS: This research method passed through several stages as follows: First stage consisted of the development of educational media (leaflets), and second stage consisted of development test with leaflet media using a quasi-experimental research design. The samples were Trimester I to Trimester III pregnant women who visited Sayang Rakyat Hospital Makassar, which consisted of 30 people as intervention group and 30 people as control group. The intervention group was provided leaflets while the control group was provided books on maternal and child health. Data analysis used Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Mann–Whitney test.&#x0D; RESULTS: The results showed that there are differences in case of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding complications of pregnancy and childbirth before and after being provided with leaflet intervention with a value of p = 0.000. Likewise, there are differences in the case of knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding pregnancy and childbirth complications between the intervention and control groups with p = 0.041 and 0.001, respectively.&#x0D; CONCLUSION: Educational media on knowledge and attitudes about complications of pregnancy and childbirth has a positive effect in pregnant women at Sayang Rakyat Hospital in Makassar.

The Effects of Public Service Motivation to Medical Specialist’s Organizational Citizenship Behavior at Haji Makassar Hospital and Kota Makassar Hospital

BACKGROUND: Public service motivation (PSM) aims to underline the individual appreciation associated with public interest. If PSM is connected with organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), then the effectiveness is expected to be manifested in the increase of service quality. &#x0D; AIM: This study aimed to analyze the effect of PSM to the medical specialist’s OCB of Haji Makassar Regional Public Hospital and Makassar Regional Public Hospital. &#x0D; METHODS: This research is quantitative research using analytic observational design with cross-sectional approach. The population in this research are all medical specialists at Haji Makassar Regional Public Hospital and Makassar Regional Public Hospital with the total of 72 people. Meanwhile, the samples of medical specialists in this research are exhaustive sampling. This research uses questionnaires and the data are tested using logistic regression test. &#x0D; RESULTS: The logistic regression test shows that there is an effect of PSM on OCB (p = 0.000). This research is expected to be an input for hospital management to pay attention about the human resources, in this case medical specialist so that in the future, it will create good quality services.&#x0D; CONCLUSION: Based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that there is an effect between PSM and the doctor’s OCB at Haji Regional Public Hospital and Makassar Regional Public Hospital. The higher the doctor’s PSM is then the OCB will be higher too to doctors in Haji Regional Public Hospital and Makassar Regional Public Hospital.

Hubungan Status Sosial Ekonomi dengan Sindrom Metabolik Pada Pasien Rawat Jalan RSUD Labuang Baji Kota Makassar

The increasing flow of globalization in all fields, technological and industrial developments have been many bring changes to people's behavior and lifestyle. Changes in food consumption patterns as well as reduced physical activity and environmental pollution also contribute to lifestyle changes. These changes have unconsciously influenced the epidemiological transition with the increasing cases of degenerative diseases. Along with these changes in human lifestyle, one of the problems that arise in the health sector is an increase in the incidence of metabolic syndrome. This study aims to determine the relationship of socioeconomic status with metabolic syndrome in outpatients at the Labuang Baji Makassar Hospital. This type of research is an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. Sampling was done using accidental sampling technique with a sample size of 70 people. Data collection was carried out by collecting secondary data and primary data. Data analysis was performed using the chi-square test. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between socioeconomic status and metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome patients were found to be highest at the age of 60-69 years. Most of the people with metabolic syndrome are women with retired jobs. The metabolic syndrome incidence increases with the high level of education.

Development of a Medical Support Training Program for Disaster Management in Indonesia: A Hospital Disaster Medical Support Program for Indonesia.

Disasters are often unforeseen events. Hospitals form a critical component of any country's disaster management medical support system. To ensure optimal operations, minimize chaos, and allow flexibility in response, planning and practice are crucial. Singapore Health Services (SingHealth) collaborated with Hasanuddin University (UnHas) in Makassar, Indonesia, to develop a Hospital Disaster Medical Support (HDMS) program for the province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. An assessment of the needs of the hospitals in Makassar, Indonesia, for disaster preparedness was carried out. A curriculum for the HDMS program was developed based on the assessment. Discussions with stakeholders of various hospitals were held for the implementation of this program. A total of 310 participants were trained in this program over the two-year period. The feedback from the participants was positive. The exercises provided a more realistic simulation of the concepts of hospital management in a disaster situation. Up to 73 persons were also trained as program instructors during this period. The development of the cadre of instructors in hospital disaster medical support will likely help sustain the program for the next few years.

Comparison of Zinc Level In Mother With Postpartum Blues and Normal at Makassar City

Introduction : Postpartum blues is a mild mood disorder that is temporary, characterized by short tears, feelings of loneliness or rejection, anxiety, confusion, forgetfulness and imsomnia. The causes can occur in the form of biological and social factors. Postpartum blues is a type of depression commonly found in mothers. Zinc is a biological factor that is thought to be related to the incidence of depression in mothers Objectives: This study aims to look at zinc levels in mothers with postpartum blues when compared with normal mothers Methods: This research was conducted at St. Fatimah Hospital in Makassar. This type of research is analytic study with cross sectional design.The population of this study was all mothers who were treated at St. Fatimah Hospital for the period of May-June 2017 that were selected by purposive sampling. Based on established criteria, 68 postpartum mothers were chosen. Depression scores were collected using the Edinburg Postnatal Depression Scale. Level of zinc was examined through the colorimetric method using QuantiChrom Zink Assay Kit (DIZN-250). To determine the differences in zinc levels used independent t test. Results: This study found that zinc levels in mothers with postpartum blues were higher when compared to normal mothers. The difference is 1.74 µg / dl. But the difference was not significant (p = 0.263). Most mothers with postpartum blues have low zinc levels (66.7%) whereas those normal mother mostly have very low zinc levels (50%). But the difference was not significant (p = 0.170) Conclusion: This study found no significant differences in zinc levels in mother with postpartum blues or normal. But an important finding is the low levels of zinc in postpartum mothers in Makassar City. This is important to get attention because zinc plays an important role in the health of mother and child

Sindrom Premenstruasi terhadap Kinerja Perawat Intensive Care Unit di Rumah Sakit Kota Makassar

Aim: This study aims to determine the relationship of the premenstrual syndrome to the performance ICU (intensive care unit) nurses in Makassar hospitals. Methods: This is quantitative research with the observational method using a cross-sectional study, samples were taken as many as 36 people as respondents conducted by using proportionate random sampling. Data collected through observation, interview and documentation by using questionnaire SPAF questionnaire (The short Premenstrual Assessment Form) and menstrual diary Result: Female result in the intensive care unit who premenstrual syndrome have less performance the correlation value of 0,522, significant with p-value 0,001 Conclusion: This study showed that there is a relationship between premenstrual syndrome to the performance ICU (intensive care unit) nurses in Makassar city hospital

Association of Immature Platelet Fraction and Trombopoietin Levels Based on the Grades of Sepsis Severity

Sepsis is one of the major causes of morbidity and mortality around the world. Organ dysfunction in sepsis can be identified using Sepsis-related Organ Failure Assessment. The dysfunction of the coagulation cascade, the number of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and endothelial dysfunction promote the consumptive thrombocytopenia in sepsis patients, which triggers a compensatory response in the body by increasing thrombopoietin release. As a result, it increases platelet production which can be assessed by immature platelet fraction (IPF). This study is a preliminary research to see the relationship between IPF values and serum thrombopoietin (TPO) levels in terms of the clinical severity of patients with sepsis based on SOFA scores. A cross-sectional design was performed in this study with 49 samples of patients with sepsis, collected during June-July 2019, at Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar. The study was conducted in August 2019. IPF values were measured by the fluorescent flow cytometry method. Meanwhile, serum thrombopoietin levels were calculated by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method using human Thrombopoietin ELISA (RayBioTech, Australia). The results showed that the IPF value increased along with the SOFA score, followed by a decrease in platelet (p = 0.014). TPO levels presented an upward along with SOFA scores with a decrease in platelet (p = 0.008). There was a significant correlation between IPF values and TPO levels (r = 0.606, p &lt;0.001) where the Immature Platelet Fraction score and thrombopoietin levels increased with SOFA scores. In addition, there was also a positive correlation between IPF values and TPO levels in sepsis patients.

Survival Analysis of Ovarian Cancer Patients based on Age at The Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar Hospital in 2014-2018

Background. Generally, a younger age at diagnosis indicates a better prognosis, with younger women having an average survival of at least 2 years longer than older women. It is estimated that in young women the disease is diagnosed more quickly in the early stages when compared to older women. Method. A cohort retrospective study. This research was conducted at the Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar Hospital by taking the medical records of ovarian cancer patients from January 2014 to December The study subjects were 263 patients. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate survival rate and Cox Regression to investigate the effect of variable. Results. The survival of ovarian cancer patients within 30 months is 78%. Ovarian cancer patients who survived to the 30th month based on age ? 60 years were 79% whereas &gt; 60 years to 30th month none had survived with an HR score of 2.74 (95% CI: 1.09-6.88 ). Multivariate analysis HR values were obtained for age 2.65 (95% CI: 1,07-6,52) after being controlled by stage, and performance status. Conclusion. Age affects the survival of ovarian cancer patients. Patients aged&gt; 60 years are more at risk of dying compared to patients aged ? 60 years

FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN POST PARTUM BLUES PADA IBU NIFAS DI RUANG NURI RUMAH SAKIT BHAYANGKARA MAKASSAR

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the occurrence of post partum blues in postpartum ward (Nuri ward) at Bhayangkara Hospital Makassar. This study was quantitative analytic research with cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in Nuri ward of Bhayangkara Hospital in Makassar during August 2019. The population of this study was postpartum mothers who were cared for during August 2019 . Subjects involved in this study were 54 postpartum mothers obtained through incidental sampling techniques. The independent variables include the type of labor, parity, and family support with the dependent variable namely the post partum blues occurrence . Data were processed and analyzed using SPSS for Windows with Chi-square statistical test with alternative Fisher exact test. The results showed that of 54 postpartum mothers participating in this study, 14 mothers (25.93%) showed the possibility of experiencing post partum blues. There was a significant relationship between the type of labor (p = 0.041) and maternal parity (p = 0.003) with the incidence of post partum blues in postpartum mothers cared in the hospital Bhayangkara Makassar. Husband and family support is very important in preventing postpartum blues in postpartum mothers.

Serum magnesium levels in normal pregnant women, severe preeclampsia, and severe preeclampsia with complications; a consideration for early supplementation?

This study aims to compare serum magnesium levels of normal pregnant women, severe preeclampsia and severe preeclampsia with complications in the third trimester of pregnancy so that they can be used as a basis for earlier consideration of supplementation in pregnancy. This study was an observational study with a comparative cross-sectional design conducted in July-September 2019 in four hospitals in Makassar, namely Dr. Wahidin Soedirohusodo General Hospital, Hasanuddin University State University Hospital, Sitti Khadijah I Hospital and Children Hospital Siti Fatimah's Mother and Child Hospital. Respondents in this study were three-trimester pregnant women who were divided into three groups, 30 mothers with normal pregnancies, 30 mothers with severe preeclampsia, and 12 women with severe preeclampsia with complications. Criteria for respondents in this study were single pregnancy and not with systemic disease. Data collected included age, education, occupation, body mass index (BMI) before pregnancy, parity, the distance of pregnancy, history of preeclampsia, family planning history, history of antenatal care examination and pregnancy planning. Serum magnesium levels were determined using a Magnesium Assay Kit with a colorimetric method that was assessed for absorption by spectrophotometrics. The mean serum magnesium levels were the lowest in the severe preeclampsia group (0.61mmol/L) compared to the severe preeclampsia group with complications (0.72mmol/L), and the normal pregnancy group (0.92mmol/L). Magnesium levels of the three groups differed significantly (p=0.008, p<0.05) CONCLUSION: Serum magnesium levels should be considered as a prognostic factor and supplementation intervention for pregnant women with preeclampsia.

Correlation Between Post Natal Care and Premature Baby Health in the RSKD Ibu &amp; Anak Siti Fatimah Makassar

Premature babies are babies born alive before the 37th week of gestational age which is calculated from the first day of the last menstruation. Baby care in an incubator is a method of caring for infants by putting the baby in a device that serves to help create adequate ambient temperatures with normal temperatures. Providing optimal nutrition is important in the management of premature and very low weight babies. Prevention of infection is the most important part of every newborn component. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between post natal care and premature baby health at the Siti Fatimah Makassar Hospital. This study is a cross sectional study, the population in this study were all babies born at gestational age less than 37 weeks and who were temporarily undergoing treatment at Siti Fatimah Hospital Makassar. Sampling using purposive sampling, obtained 30 samples according to inclusion criteria. Data collection is done in a primary way with direct observation techniques. The collected data is then processed and analyzed using Microsoft Excel computer programs and statistical programs (SPSS) version 6.0. Data analysis includes univariate analysis by looking for frequency distribution, bivariate analysis with chi-square test (x &lt;0.05), to determine the relationship between variables. The results of the bivariate analysis found a relationship between postnatal care with premature infant health (p = 0.033). So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between post natal care with premature baby health at the Siti Fatimah Makassar Hospital. Therefore, paramedics should make efforts to continuously improve health services and carry out care of premature babies properly and apply optimal care facilities. For further research, researchers can conduct studies on other treatments provided to premature babies.

Analysis of Standard Operational Procedures implementation on medical records completion at Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia

This study aimed to determine the description of the implementation of the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) regarding the completeness of the medical records filling of inpatients installation unit at Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar. The research method was a quantitative method, which was a descriptive observation. It was conducted by observing, distributing questionnaires and interviewing respondents. The sample consisted of 52 doctors who worked in Stella Hospital and were categorized by age, sex, education and the length of the working period. The results of the study showed that the perception of the respondents regarding the standard operating procedures provided and implemented had not been classified as decent. Respondents who had decent perceptions were only 9 respondents (17.3%) while those with poor perceptions were 43 respondents (82.7%). The implementation of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) toward completing the filling of medical records at Stella Maris Hospital is still categorized as not yet maximally implemented.

Analysis of filling completion and facilities of medical records at Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia

This study aimed to find out the complete picture of medical record filling and perceptions of health executors (doctors) on facilities in inpatients at Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar. The research method is a descriptive observational quantitative method which by observing, distributing questionnaires, and interviewing respondents. The sample consisted of 52 doctors who worked in Stella Hospital and were categorized by age, sex, education, and years of service. The results of the study showed that as many as 53 medical record files were not filled in completely (57%) compared to the complete filled file with 39 medical record files (43%). Besides, respondents who stated that the existing facilities and infrastructure were good as many as 24 respondents (46.2%) while the respondents stated that the existing facilities were not as good as 28 respondents (53.8%). The completeness of filling in medical records and perceptions of the implementation of the availability of facilities in Stella Maris Hospital are still deficient.

Description of health employees knowledge regarding the completion of medical records in inpatient installation unit at Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar

This study aimed to describe the knowledge of health employees (doctors) in completing medical records at inpatient facilities at the Stella Maris Hospital in Makassar. The research method used a quantitative and qualitative approach by distributing questionnaires and organizing interviews among health employees. The respondents consisted of 52 doctors who worked in Stella Hospital and were categorized by age, sex, education and years of service. The results showed that the knowledge of health employees on completing medical records was not very good. The respondents that had good knowledge were 25 respondents (48.1%) while those with less knowledge were 27 respondents (51.9%). The health employees at Stella Maris Hospital majority do not understand how to complete criteria of medical records filling. It is recommended to the Hospital Management to hold socialization to health employees (doctors) about the rules relating to the completion of medical records to improve their knowledge of medical records completion.

Birth weight, Apgar score, and fetal complications in mothers with severe preeclampsia

Preeclampsia is one of the factors causing maternal and perinatal death. The purpose of this study was to find out the birth weight and the Apgar score of the newborn in correlation with fetal complications in mothers with severe preeclampsia. This study was a descriptive retrospective study by reviewing the medical records of pregnant women who have been diagnosed with severe preeclampsia during the period of January 2017-May 2019. The study was conducted in 4 hospitals in Makassar. Data were statistically analyzed using the chi-square test. There were 256 pregnant women who met the criteria of this study, 184 (71.9%) suffered severe preeclampsia, and 92 (28.1%) suffered severe preeclampsia with maternal complications. The patients with severe preeclampsia were mostly in age of 20-35 years old (59.2%), multiparous (69.6%), with gestational age on delivery≥37 weeks (56%) while In the severe preeclampsia with maternal complications group, most women were in age of 20-35 (69.4%), multiparous (73.6%), with preterm delivery (65.3%). Low birth weight was found more in the severe preeclampsia with maternal complications group (37.5%). The APGAR score of 7-10 in the first and fifth minutes was high in both groups. 41.7% of fetal complications occurred in the group of severe preeclampsia with complications. There are significant differences in gestational age on delivery, birth weight, Apgar score and fetal complications in the group of severe preeclampsia and severe preeclampsia with complications (p≤0.05) CONCLUSION: The incidence of preterm birth, low birth weight, and fetal complications are more common in the group of severe preeclampsia with complications.

Vaginal and cesarean section delivery with severe preeclampsia and preeclampsia with complications

The objective of this study was to describe the types of delivery in preeclampsia, severe preeclampsia, and severe preeclampsia with complications. This study was a descriptive retrospective study conducted from 1 January 2017 to 31 May 2019 using medical registers of patients at four hospitals in Makassar, Indonesia. The number of samples is 329 women with preeclampsia, severe preeclampsia, and severe preeclampsia with complications in spontaneous, induced, and cesarean delivery. Vaginal delivery was 24.3%, whereas cesarean delivery was 75.7%. In spontaneous delivery, there are 86.7% of women suffering severe preeclampsia with complications, 92.3% severe preeclampsia, and 100% preeclampsia. Moreover, in induced delivery, there are 13.3% of women suffering severe preeclampsia with complications, 7.7% severe preeclampsia, 0% preeclampsia while in cesarean delivery, there are 55.4% of women suffering severe preeclampsia with complications, 38.2% severe preeclampsia, and 6.4% preeclampsia. Cesarean delivery is still high in cases of preeclampsia, severe preeclampsia, and severe preeclampsia with complications.
