Estrategias institucionales en torno a Bibliografía de arte colonial argentino, de Mario Buschiazzo (1947)

This paper analyzes the book Bibliography of Argentinean Colonial Art regarding the process of institutionalization and consolidation of colonial art studies at the University of Buenos Aires. Following the specificities of its format in the historiographical context of the period, I sustain that the book had a strategic role in the reorientation of artistic studies proposed by the mentioned university’s Institute of American Art and Aesthetic Studies. Besides professional aspirations pursued by its author, expressed in the exercise of the bibliographical review, the book constituted an effective format for the local and transnational scene regarding the consolidation of Buschiazzo's profile as an expert, establishing his own historiographical production space.

Entre el poder y la autoridad: Mateo Marquín, capitán general de yaquis y mayos de 1843 a 1857

Las interrelaciones entre los grupos indígenas de Sonora y el Estado han sido un tema recurrente en la historiografía regional de las últimas décadas, abordando mayormente aspectos de enfrentamientos y resistencias. Actualmente la producción historiográfica ha tomado un nuevo auge profundizando en las relaciones establecidas a través de la negociación y pacificación del territorio indígena. Dentro de esta última perspectiva, este trabajo es una aproximación al estudio del liderazgo indígena en Sonora a través de Mateo Marquín, capitán general del Valle del Yaqui y Mayo. Lo anterior se realiza a través de la propuesta analítica de Martha Bechis y su diferenciación entre el poder y autoridad. Se utilizan como fuentes los informes oficiales y la correspondencia intercambiada entre los capitanes generales. Partiendo de lo anterior, buscamos aproximarnos al tipo de liderazgo ejercido por Marquín durante 1840 y 1850 en Sonora, así como la efectividad de su intermediación.

Entre volonté réformatrice et valorisation personnelle : Le Registre de Gilles li Muisis (Bibliothèque royale de Belgique, ms IV 119*)

Gilles li Muisis is above all recognized for his historiographical production and reformative activities at Saint-Martin of Tournai. His poetic activity has been received very differently by scholars. Now preserved at the Royal Library in Brussels (ms. IV 119), Li Muisis’ Registre is the main witness to this aspect of his work. Illustrated by an iconographical series produced by Pierard dou Tielt, the manuscript includes numerous texts in which the old abbot describes the various states of the society in which he lived. Assessments of the literary quality of this collection have varied widely. My aim in this study is to focus on the miniatures in order to grasp their role in the work’s overall coordination and their potential links to the abbot’s reformative ideals. Analysing this iconographical series in close connection with Gilles’ poetical texts allows me to show that the miniatures of KBR IV are not simple illustrations. On the contrary, they play a crucial role in reinforcing the Abbot Li Muisis’ reformative goals and, above all, in enabling him to leave a valorizing image of himself to posterity.

Relações de gênero, educação e imprensa: reflexões sobre o jornal O Albor em Laguna (1901-1930)

The article discusses gender relations and education, emphasizing the education of girls and the teaching in dialogue with the historiographic production and articles of O Albor , from 1901 to 1930, available in the Municipal Public Archive of Laguna (Brazil). Under E.P. Thompson’s references, the press is analyzed in the intentionality of the groups it represents, with its contradictions and fissures, which, in its words, teaches, proposes reflections and diffuses information, and does so in what it fails to say, in what is muted. In the eleven selected excerpts, the results pointed to wage discrepancies between the sexes, to the implantation of the mixed school as a gradual process, resulting from state financial factors, potentiated by women’s struggle and the socio-cultural formation of teachers and eventual teachers as vocation and affectivity. The regulation for a docile and religious femininity was present, mainly directed to the white woman, of middle sectors and elites, although it opened space for the discussion of the emancipation of women from the perspective of liberal feminism. ÍNDIOS NO SEMIÁRIDO NORDESTINO: (re)conhecendo sociodiversidades

The indigenous peoples in the Northeast of Brazil question the historiographical production that until recently omitted, ignored or relegated the generic Indians to a distant colonial past. The experiences lived by the natives in the northeastern semi-arid are, therefore, a challenge for reflections on the understanding of the processes historical changes that result in the current sociopolitical mobilizations by the claims, conquests and guarantees of rights. It is necessary to think of the natives in the northeastern Semi-arid region in the perspective of a Environmental History in an exercise of research, studies and reflections to establish the relations between the Indians and the conditions of life in the environment where they live. Recognizing indigenous sociodiversities and contributing to discussions in the historical perspective that demonstrate the power relations, access, use and meanings of natural resources by indigenous peoples.

A Revolução dos Cravos e a historiografia portuguesa

Resumo O objetivo deste texto é analisar algumas questões que têm marcado a produção historiográfica portuguesa acerca do tema da transição democrática. Discute-se como os estudos históricos têm lidado com a memória social a respeito da experiência autoritária em Portugal. Em seguida, examina-se correntes interpretativas que colocam em questão o significado e a profundidade das mudanças desencadeadas na esteira da transição democrática. Pretende-se também chamar atenção para um debate que, marcado pelos impactos do tempo presente, está longe de se esgotar.

TRÊS TEMPOS DE CARIDADE, ASSISTÊNCIA E FILANTROPIA EM GOIÁS (SÉCULOS XVIII AO XX)

O objetivo do presente artigo é analisar a produção historiográfica classificada, como História da Assistência em Goiás e, de forma sucinta e exploratória; expor os pressupostos e interpretações conceituais sobre o medo como o gerador impulsionador da caridade e o assistencialismo a pobreza, a caridade e a filantropia segundo as pesquisas realizadas desde a antiga capital Vila Boa à moderna e atual Goiânia. Em um primeiro momento, apresentaremos o significado dos termos caridade e associações interligados às irmandades no século XVIII e XIX. Por último, buscaremos entender a Sociedade São Vicente de Paula e o Orfanato São José como instituições de caridade e filantropia em fins do dezenove até meados do século XX.

Representación e historiografía: miradas múltiples al pasado de la Isla de Cubagua (1892-2014)

Cubagua Island has been represented in the past in many ways in modern history, sometimes as synonymous with New Cadiz, sometimes as synonymous with wealth, exploitation and natural disasters. This work is an approach to the discourses on the past of Cubagua has been built, to account for the diverse perspectives and approaches, as well as the various interests that have guided researchers in the reconstruction of the past Cuaguense. For this historiographical production it was divided into three stages. The first one called foresight, by the pioneering nature of the work carried out at this stage, the second archaeological documentary characterized by the role of these investigations in the production of documentary and archaeological sources for the study of the past in Cubagua and the third as an interpretive stage, because in it the interests of researchers target specific problems of the past Cuaguense.

Viera y Clavijo: Historiador ilustrado del Atlántico

We analyze the historiographical production of Viera y Clavijo, enlightenment canary that had an outstanding work in the whole of Spain. We have made a hermeneutic work with this work, as well as the incorporation of information that Canary files have. There is a need to deepen their philosophy of history. Historiographical work of Viera y Clavijo was the first overview of the history of the Canary Islands in accordance with the enlightened ideas, especially influenced by French historians, without being the most avant-garde in Europe, was a huge step forward in the Canary thought of the second half of the eighteenth century. While stressing the Atlanticism of Canarias, also it highlights the characteristics conferred by insularity. Geography was an aspect that Viera estimated that hindered the spread of religious and enlightened ideas. The island apart with a rugged terrain, made certain places inaccessible. Summa/historia: disolución y reconstitución en la historiografía de la arquitectura (1970-1978)

En julio de 1974 salió el primer fascículo que oficiaba como introducción de los capítulos de Summa/historia que iban a ir saliendo hasta 1977, luego reunidos en el libro Documentos para una historia de la arquitectura Argentina. Allí Waisman explicitaba que s/h se articularía a partir de los planteos realizados en La estructura histórica del entorno que le había permitido posicionarse en la escena nacional. El contexto de producción de s/h nos permite analizar un momento muy particular en el proceso de constitución del campo de la historiografía de la arquitectura. Si durante los sesenta se apreciaba una consolidación en la producción historiografía, los setenta supusieron un momento de crisis y “disolución” de las dos únicas instituciones específicas que tenía la historiografía de la arquitectura, seguido de una relativamente rápida reconstitución, en la cual s/h tuvo un papel central, no sólo porque ofrecía una mirada integradora de la historia de la arquitectura en el país, no ensayada hasta el momento, sino también porque dinamizó redes y contactos que se prolongaron en el tiempo.

Uma escola sem sentido: por que a profissão de historiador não é regulamentada?

Apos buscar conceituar a nocao de espaco escolar, o texto analisa as condicoes historicas que levaram a Historia a ser guindada a condicao de disciplina propedeutica e o porque de sua permanencia nos curriculos escolares mesmo diante do fato de que nao parece ser um saber que goze de muito prestigio social, notadamente no seculo XX. Por fim, tomando a falta de regulamentacao da profissao como um indicio desse desprestigio e da propria suspeita politica de que a disciplina padece, o texto analisa as tensas relacoes entre os grupos dominantes, a producao historiografica e o ensino de Historia no Brasil e se posiciona acerca do debate em torno da regulamentacao da profissao. The Historiography of Crisis: Jordanes, Cassiodorus and Justinian in mid-sixth-century Constantinople

ABSTRACTThis article presents a new interpretation of the historiographical production of Jordanes by situating it in the political and social environment of Constantinople of the years 550–552. It argues that these years were a period of crisis in Justinian's reign and that this is reflected in the pessimistic view of Roman power and the critique of Justinian's military and religious policy we can see in Jordanes’Romana. If this prevents us from understanding Jordanes as a mouthpiece of the court, he cannot be reduced to a mere reproducer of Cassiodorus either: while there is more evidence for a close interaction between Jordanes and Cassiodorus (in particular the use of theHistoria Tripartitain theRomana) than usually adduced, this is balanced by Jordanes’ explicit attempts to keep his distance from the senator. If the latter can be explained by Jordanes’ much lower social and literary status and his Moesian rather than Italian origin, which made him only a marginal member of Cassiodorus’ circle in Constantinople, the agreement between both men is the result of a confluence of views caused by the turn of the Italian war in 540–550. Jordanes, then, appears as a unique voice in what must have been a polyphony of opinions in mid-sixth-century Constantinople.

Experiências de formação política e intelectual de um comunista: família, etnia, leituras e militância estudantil de Jacob Gorender, um jovem membro do PCB em Salvador (1923-1943)

http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1984-9222.2016v8n15p109Jacob Gorender, destacado militante comunista e teórico marxista, é conhecido especialmente pela sua produção historiográfica a partir da década de 1970, bem como pelo seu papel nos círculos dirigentes do PCB e do PCBR entre o final dos anos 1950 e a década seguinte. Neste artigo é abordado um período menos conhecido de sua trajetória: a sua formação política e intelectual, em Salvador nas décadas de 1920 a 1940, compreendendo a sua situação enquanto filho de uma família da classe trabalhadora, também parte da comunidade judaica local, em um período de agitações sociais. Atenta-se às suas leituras materialistas realizadas na adolescência, assim como os textos marxistas com que se deparou quando militante estudantil do PCB na Faculdade de Direito. Também são discutidas as particularidades da trajetória do PCB em Salvador no período bem como os limites e possibilidades postos a Jacob Gorender em sua formação marxista no local e contexto em tela.

La “primavera renovadora” argentina a escala local. Ceferino Garzón Maceda y los estudios históricos sobre la sociedad y la economía en Córdoba (Argentina)

Between 1955 and 1966, Argentinian historiography experienced a “spring of renewal”, with its epicentre in universities. Existent bibliography states that Ceferino Garzon Maceda, from the National University of Cordoba, was one of the driving forces of such renewal. However, there are no studies that precisely define its features and extent. The objective of this work is to analyse the historiographic production of Garzon Maceda to outline the characteristics of the renewal in Cordoba and to specify its content and extent. It is stated that a renewal is evidenced in Garzon Maceda that shows a clear thematic shift, with an eclectic combination of strong changes and some notable permanent elements in methodology

The Bible in Historical Perception and Writing of the Transcultural Iberian Societies, Eighth to Twelfth Centuries

In stark contrast to the Bible‘s paramount role of being the only book declared to have »World Heritage« status by the UNESCO, research on the »Book of Books« from a transcultural perspective is an almost neglected phenomenon: Neither the Bible’s relationship to other »holy or sacred« scriptures as modes of religious and cultural perceptions and transformations of the Others’ world, nor its decisive role as a »normative order« in the many modes of religious, social and cultural interaction in the Euro-mediterranean world have been comprehensively studied from a historical perspective. Because of their pretension of normativity, the religious laws of this world (Tanach, Talmud, Bible and Qur’ān) were competing against and confronting each other with alternative models of perceiving time, space and history. The diverse concepts of the three monotheisms had consequences for their common but nevertheless specific narratives, genres and books of exegetical, polemical and historiographical practice; yet, we do not have clear-cut ideas of the processes of possible entanglement between these modes of perceiving and transforming the Others’ history; nor do we know their exact place and value in the systems of knowledge or their retroactive effects (on either side) on the interpretations of their own religious laws. Our project intends to give answers to these basic questions based on the evidence of the Christian biblical and historiographical legacy in the transcultural frontier societies of the medieval Iberian Peninsula. We thereby change the perspective on the biblical legacy of these societies: Bible manuscripts are no longer seen as testimonies of texts or text traditions alone, but as bearers of canons: theoretical and practical concepts of history and perceptions of religious alterities. We therefore re-contextualize these perceptions of »the Others’ world« within, on the one hand, the larger context of the typological thinking of preserved biblical manuscripts, their materiality and mediality; and on the other hand, in their narrative framework of the related Iberian historiographical production.

La integración del Congreso Constituyente en 1917

Este trabajo ofrece una nueva perspectiva sobre la percepción de legitimidad política que tuvieron los diputados en una de las asambleas más emblemáticas de México. La revisión de credenciales del Constituyente de Querétaro nos permite observar las primeras disputas internas del constitucionalismo, pues mucho se ha hablado sobre la promulgación de la Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, pero poco se estudian las sesiones legislativas que le dieron origen. Al plantear los claroscuros del trabajo parlamentario constituyente, sobre todo en los primeros días colegio electoral, este artículo busca complementar la enorme producción historiográfica realizada sobre dicho Congreso.

La formación histórica de condueñazgos y copropiedades en las regiones de las Huastecas (México) y las tierras altas de Jujuy (Argentina)

En este artículo nos proponemos analizar comparativamente el origen de los condueñazgos y/o copropiedades del período republicano existentes en la región de la Huasteca mexicana y de las “tierras altas” del extremo noroeste andino de la Argentina, examinando la producción historiográfica y revisando fuentes esencialmente secundarias sobre la temática. Siguiendo la secuencia legislativa y las coyunturas históricas que intervinieron en la formación de estos derechos de propiedad corporativos y de formas asociativas y productivas comunitarias se procura repensar el proyecto liberal en América Latina, particularmente el plan agrario de desamortización y de desarticulación de la propiedad comunal indígena. Con esa principal intención se retoma también la agencia indígena en el marco de la constitución de los Estados nacionales decimonónicos, adscribiendo a la idea de que la configuración de estas formas asociadas de propiedad -de la que estos sectores fueron activos partícipes- fue una respuesta más en defensa de su territorialidad. El enfoque comparativo procura un salto en la escala de análisis para tejer evidencias y aproximaciones de una historia, sin duda, compartida.

Comunidad mexicana de historiadores de la educación. Aproximaciones a un recuento historiográfico 2002-2012

Every ten years the Mexican Council of Education Research organizes the gathering of information for the «state of knowledge» in seventeen different areas of study. The aim of this activity is to assess the «state of knowledge » in order to discover and to analyze the main tendencies of the decade. Having been directly involved in the gathering of the last «state of knowledge» in relation to the sub-area of History and Historiography of Education, the purpose of this article is to give an account, in general lines, of the processes we followed to collect the information, as well as the global tendencies in the last decade (2002-2012). Given its general nature, the article does not focus on so much on particularities, but rather deals with the central historiographic production of recent years
