The feasibility of e-encyclopedia on plants structure and function as teaching material for junior high school students in Pontianak

This study aims to determine the feasibility and responses of students to the E-Encyclopedia on the structure and function of plants material for the 8<sup>th</sup> grade of junior high school students. This is a Research and Development (R&D) which consists of 7 stages namely potential and problems, data collection, product design, product design validation, design revision, product testing, and product revision. The instrument used was the validation sheet of the E-Encyclopedia of Plant Structure and Function and a student response questionnaire filled out by 15 respondents. The average result of the validation analysis of Aiken's V E-Encyclopedia of Plant Structure and Function obtained 0,90 is in the valid category, while the reliability value of 0,775 is in the sufficient reliability category. The results of the questionnaire response analysis obtained an average of 77,6%, namely in the strong category. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that the e-encyclopedia is appropriate to be used as teaching material on the Structure and Function of Plants for 8<sup>th</sup> grades of junior high school.

Structural model of 5Cs of positive youth development in Croatia: relations with mental distress and mental well-being

ABSTRACT The 5C model of Positive Youth Development has widely been researched in the last decade yielding inconsistent structural solutions in different cultural settings. This paper seeks to examine the structure of the 5C model in the Croatian context. The internal structure and criterion validity of the model were examined on a sample of 3559 1st grade high school students (M = 15.12 years; 53.5% female). The item-based structural equation analyses showed that the ESEM model provides a better fit to the five-factor structure than the CFA and bifactor models. Facet-based bifactor and bifactor (S·I-1) analyses confirmed general construct, positive youth development. Higher competence, confidence, and connection predicted less while higher character and caring predicted more mental distress in youth. Full SEM model showed that competence, character, confidence, and connection, four of the 5Cs, were associated with positive mental health. The results support the 5C model and suggest specifics of the local context.

Media Pembelajaran Kimia menggunakan Mobile Learning berbasis Android

Chemistry is a relatively new material for Xth grade high school students, but many high school students still do not understand the basic concepts of chemistry and the lack of use of technology. The purpose of this research is to design and build learning media to make it easier for students to get to know chemistry using the Android platform. The method used in building this application is the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) method, which starts by collecting data for system testing. Data collection was carried out around the Kalam Kudus Christian High School school environment in Pekanbaru with 40 students as research subjects. The system design is designed so that every high school student can use the application independently using a personal account. The tests used are black box testing and mean opinion score (MOS) testing. The result of black box testing is that the display or menu can run smoothly. while for MOS results, around 95% state that the application that was built gets very decent results from high school students. So that this application is used in accordance with the needs of high school students in helping to recognize basic chemical concepts.

RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE REFLECTED IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ELT TEXTBOOK: A CONTENT ANALYSIS

Religious tolerance has become one of global issues in the world. So, Indonesia has regulation which specifies that the graduate competency standard for educational units for all grades is that students must accept the heterogeneity of faiths, communities, nations, races and classes. In this study, the textbooks which is published by the Educational Minister of Indonesia are also published under the category of Electronic School Books (ESB) in the form of electronic book (e-book). Readability Analysis Of Physics Module Based On PBL For Vector And Newton Laws Material For X Grade Students In Senior High School

Language validation aims to determine the accuracy of the use of language in the module. It is intended that the information to be conveyed by the module can be conveyed clearly to the reader. This research was conducted to determine the language validity of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) physics module on vector material to find out how appropriate it was for X grade students in high school. The method used in this research was a qualitative descriptive research method. By using a research procedure that was calculating the validation results obtained, then providing the criteria and categories of the percentage of the results of the assessment of the validity value. From the results of this study, the overall value of language validation was obtained, namely 81.25% with a very decent category.

Pendidikan Kesehatan tentang Penyakit Leptospirosis pada Siswa SMA

Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease caused by Leptospira interrogans infection of all serotypes. The transmission of Leptospirosis occurs due to poor environmental conditions and this incidence increases in conditions of natural disasters, that is, floods. Leptospirosis has a bad impact on health because someone who is exposed can experience lung problems, kidney problems, or bleeding in the body. There are several high school students in grades 10-12 who have never received information about Leptospirosis, which is one of the effects of the flood disaster. This condition is necessary for the millennial generation to care about preventing Leptospirosis and contributing to flood disaster management activities. Information on preventing Leptospirosis is provided through community service activities. The process of this activity starts with the principal of a high school in Surabaya submitting a letter of application to provide health information to the LPPM STIKES Catholic unit of St Vincent a Paulo, then obtaining permission and carrying out community service activities. The results after the health education process were that there was a change in the level of knowledge of respondents, where before the activity, 17 people (57%) had less knowledge of respondents, 10 (33%) had sufficient knowledge and 3 (10%) had good knowledge of disease. Leptospirosis. The level of knowledge after being given health education 19 people (64%) had sufficient knowledge, 10 people (33%) had good knowledge and 1 person had less knowledge (3%). Based on these activities, it shows that health education can increase respondents' knowledge about Leptospirosis

코로나 19 팬데믹 상황에서 고등학생의 영어 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 원격수업 환경 분석

Objectives The purposes of this study is to examine the effects of the factors in E-learning environment due to COVID19 on 2020 National Assessment of Education Achievement(NAEA) for English subject among high school students.
 Methods About 3 % of sampling classes were participated in NAEA. The achievement test results and the survey results of 10,526 2nd grade of high school students were used in the analysis except the missing values. The demographic characteristics(gender and regional scale) were served as the control variable and hierarchical regression analysis was used.
 Results The research results identifies the factors in E-learning environment affecting scholastic achievement of the English subject after controlling gender and regional scale. Model 1 explains approximately 3.6% and Model 2 shows about 11.9% of coefficient of determination respectably. Students who acknowledge the usefulness of E-learning have higher English scores. Also, students with higher English scores feel that E-learning environment is similar to that of school life. The variables such as ‘time used on private tutoring’, ‘time used on self-directed learning’, ‘anxiety on grade’, ‘interest in learning’ have positive correlation with academic achievement of the English subject. On the other hand, the variables such as ‘sense of belonging to the school’, ‘communication with the teachers regarding career plan’, ‘hangout time with friends’, ‘the amount of home work’, ‘the amount of study’, ‘communication with teachers regarding academic matters’, ‘life style on regular base’ have negative correlation with the academic achievement of the English subject.
 Conclusions The students with high level of English academic achievement tend to perceive that the amount of homework and that of learning are reduced in E-learning environment due to COVID19 compared to in-class learning environment. They feel more anxiety on grade, thus spend more time on tutoring and self-directed study in order to make up the lack of study. It is desirable that the results of current study help aware education gap caused by COVID19 and are able to served as a springboard to provide useful information to establish sound educational policy.

Development Of Assessment Instrument Based on Higher Order Thinking (Hot) Using Quizizz Application on The Subject of Reaction Rate for XI Grade High School Students

This study aims to produce an assessment instrument based on HOT using Quizizz application about a valid reaction rate by the validator, as well as to determine the validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminatory power, and user response. This study uses research and development (R&D) design with the Plomp model. The subjects in this study were 2 chemistry teachers and 20 class XII students at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru and SMAN 2 Pekanbaru. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, literature studies and field studies. For data analysis techniques used validation by experts, as well as user trials. The validation results for the material validator obtained an average based on material aspects of 99.33 percent, construction aspects of 94.61 percent and language aspects of 95.16 percent. According to the media validator based on the substance aspect of the content is 97.77 percent, learning design is 91.25 percent, display (visual communication) is 96.67 percent and software utilization is 100 percent. The results of the purification of the item analysis data obtained that 15-item multiple choice HOT questions the valid criteria, had very high reliability criteria, 10 items were obtained in the "moderate" category and 5 items were obtained in the "difficult" category which had good discriminating power overall matter accepted. The user response score was 81.90 percent for teachers and 87.93 percent for students with good criteria. Therefore, the HOT-based assessment instrument helps the Quizizz application about class XI SMA/MA equivalent reaction rates which are developed to be valid according to validator material and media and get responses from both teachers and students.

Feedback-induced Learning of Anatomy and Physiology-specific Terminology among Tenth Grade High School Students

Feedback is perceived as single most influential educational factor and driver of students learning. Hence, the present study examined the effect of administering feedback on improving the acquisition of anatomy and physiology-specific terminologies among tenth grade high school students. Participants were randomly divided into three groups: a control group (N = 29), instructive feedback (IF) group (N = 29) and written feedback (WF) group (N = 29). A post-test was administered to determine if feedback had significant effect on the two treatment groups. A Kruskal-Wallis test showed significant difference among all the groups. Therefore, to compare the mean difference between the groups, a post hoc analysis, Dunn’s test, was performed. The result indicated significant difference between control versus (vs) IF, control vs WF and IF vs WF, respectively. Similarly, the results of feedback administration on specific anatomy and physiology-specific chapters showed that groups subjected to feedback intervention was statistically significant compared to control group. While there was no significant effect of feedback on gender in IF, we found that written feedback had significant effect on gender in WF group. Taken together, the present results suggest that administering feedback significantly enhanced learning of anatomy and physiology-specific terminologies. Accordingly, we recommend teachers to provide written feedback as it allows learners ample time for review and maximize its impact.

MENGGALI POTENSI SISWA UNTUK MENENTUKAN PILIHAN PROGRAM STUDI DI PERGURUAN TINGGI

The success of college graduates in a career is determined by the accuracy in choosing studies in college. Determination of study programs in college will be made by high school graduates when continuing their studies in college. Third grade high school students need to have adequate knowledge and information about the higher education system and their potential through brain color test before deciding to choose a college and study program. The PKM activity was carried out to equip 3rd grade students of SMAN 78 West Jakarta in the 2015/2016 academic year as partners. From the PKM activities carried out, partners are more interested in operational knowledge and information about universities, faculties, departments, study programs, accreditation, campus activities, tuition fees, scholarships, and graduate careers. The brain color of students is quite evenly distributed between students with type A (yellow), B (green), C (blue), and D (orange). Without classifying students based on their majors or gender, it turns out that the highest mind color is for type A (yellow) and the lowest is type D (orange), although the difference is not too large. However, there is a difference in the most types of mind color between science and social studies students. For science students, more are type A (yellow), while social studies students are type B (green). Male students' mind color is more type C (blue), while female students are type A (yellow).

Peranan Guru Bimbingan dan Konseling (BK) dalam Pemberian Layanan Informasi untuk Mengembangkan Perilaku Jujur Siswa

This study aims to describe the role of guidance and counseling teachers (BK) in providing information services to develop honest behavior of students at SMP 6 Percut Sei Tuan. This research uses a type of qualitative research that is descriptive. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data used in this study is primary data. The object in this study was 9 junior high school students grade VII. This research data analysis technique uses data analysis techniques developed by Miles and Huberman. Analysis in this model consists of data reduction, display data, and conclusion/verification. Data validity techniques are through source triangulation, data collection technique triangulation, time triangulation. The results in this study are 1). The application of information services provided to the nine students was quite effective because students could understand how to instill an honest attitude to themselves. 2). The role of guidance and counseling teachers (BK) in responding to dishonest behavior is to provide information services containing material about the value of an attitude of honesty assisted by media infocus and lectures. 3). The factors found from honest behavior in junior high school were 9 respondents who experienced problems with honesty such as cheating. The reasons given were that students reasoned that the exam time was too short, lack of interest in studying, underestimated lessons and exams, habitually cheated, and lacked confidence in their own answers

Differentiated Instruction in Improving Senior High School Students’ Reading Comprehension Level

This research investigated the effectiveness of using differentiated instruction (DI) on grade 11 senior high school students’ reading comprehension throughout the academic year 2021–2022. It aims to identify the reading comprehension levels of the control and experimental groups in the pre-test, and post-test gained results, determine whether there is a significant difference in the reading comprehension levels gained from the control and experimental groups, and pinpoint the benefits and drawbacks of using this strategy. A quasi-experimental was used as a method to carry out the investigation. 142 senior high school students in Grade 11 from UPT SMA Negeri 3 Takalar served as the respondents. The results from the pre-test and post-test, an observation in the classroom, the survey, and the researcher's notes are used as the data sources. The basic method of understanding, synthesizing, interpreting, and re-analyzing was used to describe the qualitative data in order to decide common topics. Strengths and disadvantages of DI were identified based on observations made in the class, the survey, and the reflection. Statistical analysis showed a substantial difference between pre-test results and post-test results despite the observed and experienced difficulties.

Developing Problem-Based Learning Model through Digital Video Media to Increase Knowledge about Volleyball Game for Senior High School Students Grade XI

This study constructs a problem-based learning model through digital video media to increase knowledge of materials related to volleyball game and to test the effectiveness of problem-based learning model through digital video media to increase knowledge about volleyball game. The development model used in this study is research and development with the Borg and Gall approach model through 6 stages include preliminary study, development planning, initial product development, feasibility test (small-scale trial, revision), feasibility test (large-scale trial, revision), effectiveness test. The validation test in this study was carried out through one expert of each category, which included instrument, media, and material experts. Small-scale trial (36 respondents) and large-scale trial (72 respondents). The results showed that the volleyball game learning used problem- based learning model through digital video media in the form of materials with a score of 29 is in (good) category, digital video with a score of 31 is in (good) category and practice questions with a score of 41 is in (very good) category. Validity data is obtained from expert validation. The feasibility of the learning model is obtained from the responses of learners who meet clear criteria. Effectiveness data were obtained from achieving conventional learner learning outcomes and learning using problem- based learning models using digital video media to increase knowledge about volleyball game materials using model developed to meet effective criteria. The achievement of student learning outcomes before applying the Problem-Based Learning model using digital video media with an average of 56.57 which is in a poor category; after applying the Problem-Based Learning model using digital video media obtained learning outcomes with an average of 94.07 which is in a very good category. Thus, the results of developing a Problem-Based Learning model through digital video media on volleyball game materials to increase knowledge of volleyball games are likely effective in achieving increased student learning outcomes.

GAMBARAN KETERAMPILAN SELF REGULATED LEARNING SISWA SMP KELAS VIII SELAMA PEMBELAJARAN DARING

This study purpose to describe the self regulated learning skills of grade VIII junior high school students during online learning at SMP Negeri 9 Cimahi. This research is based on the reality at school, where there are a number of students who have a level of self regulated learning below the average while participating in online learning. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a descriptive type of research. This study uses interview and observation techniques to collect data. The informants in this study were junior high school students grade VIII totaling 3 people with the criteria of having low self-regulated learning during online learning. In terms of metacognitive, motivational and behavioral aspects, the results of this study indicate that during online learning, students find it difficult to organize themselves in independent study sessions. This study also found internal factors and external factors as two factors that affect students' self regulated learning. Keywords: Online Learning, Self Regulated Learning

Blackboard System and Students’ Academic Performance: An Experimental Study in The Philippines

Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to determine the Blackboard System's effectiveness on students' academic performance in Araling Panlipunan. Research methodology: The study employed a quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test non-equivalent group design and was entirely quantitative. Seventy (70) Ligaya High School students in Grade 7 who were divided into the control and experimental groups made up the study's subjects. Both groups received instruction on related subjects throughout the first quarter of the Araling Panlipunan grading period. The t-test for dependent and independent samples was the statistical tool employed to evaluate the hypothesis. Results: Results indicate that using the Blackboard System to teach Araling Panlipunan is a more effective approach than using the traditional lecture technique. Further, it has a significant impact on students and learning processes. Teachers also gained great benefits in using this system since it provided them an easy way of tracking student progress reducing a lot of paperwork load. Limitations: This study was limited to only Grade 7 Araling Panlipunan learners in the school year 2019-2020. The duration of the experiment was only focused on the First Quarter grading period. Contribution: One of the key goals of the study is to raise the standard of education by using new technological trends, which will assist them to advance their skills and competencies in technology. Teachers will also benefit from the study to help them improve their craft with the use of effective pedagogy with ICT to cope with the changing world.

Predictive Power of Teachers’ Perceptions of Autonomy on High School Students’ Term Grade

This study aims to investigate the predictive power of teachers’ perceptions of autonomy on the term grade of high school students and differences in terms of school type and field of instruction. The study groups of this research, which was carried out with a predictive design and survey design among the quantitative research methods, included 230 teachers working in state high schools in affiliated with the Turkish Ministry of National Education in Battalgazi and Yeşilyurt in Malatya Province and 3005 students enrolled in the 11th grade at those schools. The teachers’ data were obtained via the Teacher Autonomy Perception Scale developed by the researchers. The students’ data consisted of term grade for 11th grade students in the 2020-2021 academic year. According to multiple regression analysis, the scale factors of autonomy in the classroom, autonomy at school and professional autonomy together explained 7% of the change in students’ term grade. While the autonomy at school score was a significant predictor of students’ term grade, autonomy in the classroom and professional autonomy were not significant predictors. Regarding to Kruskal-Wallis H test findings, while there was a significant difference in teachers’ perceptions of autonomy at school in terms of school type, there was no significant difference in their perceptions of autonomy in the classroom or professional autonomy. According to MANOVA findings, there was a significant difference in teachers’ perceptions of autonomy in the classroom in terms of field of instruction but no significant difference in their perceptions of autonomy at school or professional autonomy. The findings of this research might provide guidance for researchers, curriculum development experts, policymakers, academics in teacher training institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.

The Mediating Role of the Perception of Traditionalist Gender Roles in Career Choice on the Association Between Egalitarian Gender Perception and STEM-related Career Preference Among Third (Junior-level) and Fourth (Senior-level) Grade High School Students

The current study aimed to investigate two points among junior and senior-level high school students. First is to examine the mediating role of the perception of traditionalist gender roles in career choice on the association between egalitarian gender perception and STEM-related career preference. Second is to explore differences between gender groups (female vs. male) and school types (Anatolian high school, religious vocational high school, vocational high school, and science high school) in terms of variables and the outcome. A hundred and sixty-four students (76 females, 46.3%; 88 males, 53.7%) between the ages of 15-20 (M = 17, SD = .789) participated in the study. They responded to demographic information form, gender perception scale, and gender roles in career choice scale. Simple mediation analyses showed the mediating role of the perception of traditionalist gender roles in career choice (b = .144, 95% CI [.001, .286], SE = .073, z = 1.971, p = .048), as we hypothesized. Exploratory analyses revealed that students in Anatolian high school and science high school preferred egalitarian gender roles more, and preferred traditionalist gender roles in career choice less than those in other types of school. Also, students in science high school preferred STEM-related professions more. Moreover, female students preferred STEM-related professions more than male students. We discussed the findings in the context of social psychology

Students’ Combinatorial Thinking Error in Solving Combinatorial Problem

Combinatorial thinking errors describe students’ difficulties and obstacles in solving combinatorial problems. This study aims to describe the errors experienced by students in solving combinatorial problems in terms of combinatorial thinking processes. This research involved two subjects who were 12th grade high school students at a school in Gresik, Indonesia. The students have already taken a combinatorics course. Data collection was conducted using the think-aloud observation method and task-based interviews. Both methods of data collection were conducted to validate the data using the triangulation method. The two subjects experienced similar errors. The research shows that the filling slots method is a simple and easy way for students to understand, but problems arise when students cannot understand the meaning of the questions and input the correct numbers for the problem. The combinatorial thinking error includes the general counting process and vertical upward formulas or expressions. The general counting process error is generating a number that represents the given aspects of the problem and the vertical upward formula/expression is identifying the concept that fits the problem. This research suggests enhancing students understanding of number representation when teaching the filling slot method. The teacher should illustrate some of the multiplication rule and addition rule examples to help students distinguish between these two fundamental rules. Further research is needed to provide solutions to the constraints experienced by students in solving combinatorial problems.

Pemahaman Peta Konsep dan Miskonsepsi Siswa SMA Kelas X Semester 2 pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati

This descriptive research is motivated by the many problems that arise due to the low competence of students' knowledge in learning Biology on Biodiversity material in grade 10 senior high school semester 2 which is closely related to misconceptions. This study aims to analyze concept maps and find out which sub-materials have the most misconceptions experienced by students in the subject of enriching life in grade 10 Semester 2 with material topics which include: the concept of biological conservation, diversity levels (genes, species and ecosystems). ), as well as the distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with the data collection technique that the author uses is to use literature studies from several sources related to the misconceptions of 10th grade high school students semester 2 on biodiversity material. Based on data obtained from several sources related to misconceptions experienced by students, where the most dominant sub-material students experience misconceptions is located on the concept of conserving biodiversity, conserving biodiversity at the level (genes, species and species), and sub-material trade and distribution of flora and fauna in Indonesia. The conclusion from the results of this study is a misconception of biodiversity material caused by differences in learning support reference books.
