MANAJEMEN SARANA PRASARANA DALAM MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI SISWA SMK DI KOTA BANDUNG

The title of this research is ’’Management infrastructure to improve competency of vocational students in Bandung.’’ (case of study research qualitative in SMK Pasundan 1 and SMK Bina Warga Bandung) This research as background with the fact at field which indicate cause low score of vocational high school students in Bandung with the score of UNBK 7, 2 is the cause of factor less infrastructure at the school, management means of infrastructure do not complete have consequence isn’t develop even descend of student competence in the major or skill program in that school. Low in the student’s practice score, could reach low of student compatitative ability in Bandung, that impact from management infrastructure uncompleted. The research purpose for knowing illustration of planning, implementation, evaluation, problem and solve the problem faced in management infrastructure to increase students of vocational high school competence in Bandung. Study as base in this research consist of base philosopycal, the rule of Permindiknas number 40, 2008 period about standard infrastructure in SMA/MAK theories specialists about management and student of SMK competition too. The research method used is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The objects of the research are SMK Pasundan 1 and SMK Bina Warga Bandung, data obtained through observation techniques, documentation studies, and interviews. The Research results that can be decomposed based on research objectives, including description of the results at two research sites, in terms of planning in accordance with the vision, mission, strategy, and school policies, the implementation of infrastructure management is in accordance with the expected planning although there are still mismatches in several aspects facilities especially the fulfillment of their respective vocational labs, the evaluation of the process of infrastructure management is carried out by the principal or vice-principal, while the assessment of student competencies is carried out by the teacher authentically including attitudes, knowledge and skills competencies including practice exams and theories known as competency test, with different results at the two study sites. the problems faced include the availability of incomplete vocational books, infrastructure in the form of vocational practice laboratories incomplete, hospitality practice tools that are still very minimal, including land and not too extensive, resulting in ineffective student learning activities, especially student practice development activities. The solution carried out by the school, the process of teaching and learning of students into two parts, namely the morning and afternoon, resulting in full day classes. Furthermore, carrying out the TEFA program or industrial class that is being echoed by the government, the next solution is to create a digital library, a literacy corner, there is an ebook that can be downloaded directly so that the area of ​​the land is not a problem for the development of increasing the competency of vocational students in Bandung.

Implementation of Religious Moderation Character Education Strengthening Program to High School Students in Bandung

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the existence of students who lack mutual respect and respect, feel right on their own or based on their group, blame the worship of others who are different, and do not want to mingle with different internal and external religious people. This study aims to describe the implementation of religious moderation in generation Z students at SMA Negeri 3 and 5 Bandung City regarding the planning, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring process, as well as the results and follow-up. The research approach used is qualitative with a descriptive analysis method. The results showed that the planning for the Strengthening of Religious Moderation Character Education program was prepared through the formation of a School Development Team, a Character Education Strengthening Team under the vice principal for Student Affairs by making an annual program. Implementation of the program through a strategy of integrating learning in the classroom by all subject teachers, especially Religious Education and Civics, through habituation and school culture, and collaboration with parties outside the school. Evaluation is carried out through annual, monthly, and incidental work meetings; and regular monitoring by the principal, supervisors, and school management. The results obtained are changes in attitudes and behavior of students to become more tolerant and moderate without recognizing differences.

Analysis of Creative Thinking Skill Instrument Test (CreaTSIT) on renewable energy topic for senior high school student using Rasch model

This study aims to analyze an instrument that measures the creative thinking abilities of high school students regarding renewable energy. The research model used is the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. CreaTSIT was tested on 27 high school students in Bandung using a targeted sampling technique. Analysis of the Rasch model shows that the overall component of creative thinking skill is reliable and valid in the “very good” category, with a Cronbach alpha score of 0.83. A personal credibility score of 0.82 is in the “good” category. An item reliability score of 0.81 is included in the “good” category. Students’ creative thinking skills must be enhanced through models, methods, and media supporting them. CreaTSIT can be used to assess students’ creative thinking skills. We hope this research can contribute to the Indonesian educational community, especially physics teachers and educational researchers.

Physical education learning outcomes: Does it have a correlation with nutritional status, physical activity, and students' cognitive function?

The process of learning physical education in schools is influenced by nutrition, physical activity, and students' cognitive functions. The purpose of this study was to find out how students' nutritional status, physical activity, and cognitive function relate to their performance in physical education classes at school. This type of research is called correlational research. 98,289 junior high school students in Bandung, West Java Province, became the study population. Simple random sampling strategy for sampling 1870 students into the research sample. This study uses primary data provided from students' assessments of nutritional condition, physical activity, and cognitive function and secondary data provided from physical education teachers. The data collection method was in the form of a questionnaire to measure cognitive function, physical activity, and nutritional status, as well as student test scores from teachers to measure learning outcomes. Correlation analysis and multiple regression, as well as the F test, were used as data analysis methods in this study. Data analysis through computerized procedures using the SPSS application The tests needed are the normality test and the linearity test before testing the hypothesis. The findings demonstrate a significant correlation between learning outcomes and nutritional status, physical activity, and cognitive function. However, it is important to note that the research scope was limited to the field of physical education and the selected research subjects. Nonetheless, these results contribute to existing knowledge and can serve as a guide for future studies, particularly in the domain of physical education, aiming to optimise learning outcomes.

How do students solve reversible thinking problems in mathematics?

Reversible thinking is a cognitive activity in finding a solution to a problem by arranging the direction of logical thinking from the end to the starting point. Reversible thinking requires a student to think logically in two ways. Therefore, reversible thinking influences students' success in solving problems. This study aims to identify students' thinking processes in solving problems that require reversible thinking ability. This research was conducted on junior high school students in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, using test instruments, interviews, and documentation studies. The tests given consisted of two types of problems, including tests on forward-thinking problems and tests on reversible thinking problems. The research subjects were students with high average mathematics scores in their class. The study found that students could answer the tests on forward-thinking problem-solving very well but could not work on similar questions with the backward-thinking process. Based on the interview results, one of the causes for the need for more backward-thinking ability is the limited learning resources or context when students first learn the concept.

Analysis of Mathematical Creative Thinking Ability on Junior High School Students in Bandung

This research is motivated by the importance of quadrilateral material in mathematics lessons, especially for students as an educational subject in everyday life, while the aim is to analyze students’ mathematical creative thinking abilities in solving quadrilateral problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The population in this study were all seventh-grade junior high school students in the city of Bandung whose sample was randomly selected at Paulus Middle School as many as 32 people. Students can be classified based on their creative thinking abilities based on (1) the Ability creative thinking of students with the high category is fulfilling 3 indicators of creative thinking namely fluency, flexibility, and novelty, so students with the high category is said to be creative. (2) Students' ability to think creatively with the medium category is fulfilling 2 indicators of creative thinking, namely fluency and flexibility, so students in the medium category are said to be not creative. (3) The creative thinking ability of students in the low category is fulfilling 1 indicators of creative thinking are fluency and students in the moderate category said students who are not creative. Data is obtained by testing creative thinking test questions as many as 4 questions that contain indicators. The results showed that there were 2 people with high ability, 4 people with moderate ability, and 26 people with low ability with various errors including conceptual errors, principal errors, and data operation errors. Based on this, it can be concluded that the creative thinking skills of junior high school students are still relatively low.

HIGH SCHOOL ZONING POLICY IMPACT ON TRANSPORTATION IN BANDUNG CITY WEST JAWA PROVINCE

The enactment of the zoning policy through the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation (Number 14/2018) concerning the Admission of New Students states that the admission priority would be given to those who live within the radius of the closest zone from the school. From a transportation perspective, this policy has a potential positive impact in creating a more balanced school trip distribution pattern, and would further reduce the total trip length and improve transportation performance. Taking Bandung City as a case, this study aims to evaluate the impact of the Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru/PPDB (New Student Admission) based on zoning system policy on the travel distribution patterns of high school students in this city. The method used in this research is spatial distribution analysis and qualitative descriptive analysis. The research performs a before-after analysis of comparison to analyze the impact of the policy on schooling trip distribution. The results show that the zoning policy stimulates the total change of the average schooling trip length of high school students in Bandung by 35%. This research also concludes that the schooling trip distribution pattern is no longer centered in the city center where favorite schools were located.

KECANDUAN GADGET PADA REMAJA PASCA PEMBELAJARAN DARING DI MASA PANDEMI COVID 19

Online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in excessive use of gadgets in adolescents which could have negative impacts. The results of a preliminary study on 10 teenagers in Bandung showed that most teenagers often shared their gadgets compared to socializing with their families. The purpose of this study was to determine the categories of gadget use among adolescents after online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This type of research was a quantitative descriptive study. The population of this research was all high school students in Bandung. The research sample consisted of 341 students from three schools that were randomly selected, with the inclusion criteria being teenagers who had gadgets and participated in online learning and the exclusion criteria for teenagers with special needs. The data collection technique was by measuring gadget addiction categories using the adapted Smartphone Addiction Scale Short Version. Validity and reliability tests were carried out on 30 respondents using the Pearson Product Moment correlation technique with a calculated R-value of each item above 0.361 which indicated that each item in the questionnaire was valid. The reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha with the result of Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.741 which indicated that the instrument in this study was reliable. Data analysis used univariate analysis. The results of the study found that 69.5% of adolescents were in the addiction category and 30.5% of adolescents were in the non-addicted category. It is recommended for teenagers, parents, and schools understand prevention and self-control in using gadgets.

Physical Activities and Cognitive Functions of Students

Physical activity positively impacts cognitive function and can help avoid cognitive impairment. The study aimed to investigate the association between cognitive function and physical activity in junior high school students in Bandung. This research is quantitative research with a correlation analytic design. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. The sampling technique used is a random sample, the sample is 1870 respondents. The questionnaire used in this study is a closed questionnaire, which is a questionnaire whose answers have been provided so that respondents only need to choose. The study found that half of the respondents with less activity experienced less cognitive function (71,8%). Almost half of the respondents had a physical activity with good cognitive function (21.6%), and a small proportion of physical activity experienced quite a number of cognitive functions (8.6%). There is a relationship between physical activity and function cognitive in students. The results of this study are expected to be taken into consideration for further research by examining other factors related to cognitive function and other factors related to physical activity, such as gender, socioeconomic, and family factors.

Knowledge about sources and benefits of vitamin D among high school students in Bandung, Indonesia

Background and purpose: Indonesia is a tropical country, located through the equator line which is abundantly exposed with sun. However, vitamin D deficiency among population in Indonesia is common. To increase optimal vitamin D intake, knowledge on vitamin D and the role of sun exposure early in the adolescence period is imperative. This study aims to explore the knowledge of high school students about the sources and benefits of vitamin D. Methods: This was a quantitative analytical study with a cross-sectional design using survey method, conducted in 2019. A public madrasah high school in Bandung, Indonesia, was selected using convenience sampling. A validated questionnaire was distributed to students aged 16-18 years old, containing of two parts about sources of vitamin D (10 questions) and its benefits (4 questions). Results: In total, 198 high school students participated in the study, majoring in Natural Sciences (55.6%) and Social Sciences (44.4%), of whom 76.3% were females. The proportion of students who answered correctly about vitamin D was 72.8%, whereas 61.9% had correct answers about the sources of vitamin D and 83.8% about its benefits. Female students had significantly higher score compared to males (p<0.001). Interestingly, the Natural Science students had no significant higher score compared to Social Science students (p=0.227). Conclusion: The knowledge about the source of vitamin D and its benefit among female high school students is significantly better than males, thus, special attention to male students is needed. There is a trend, although not significant, that the knowledge of students majoring in the Natural Sciences is higher compared to the Social Sciences. This study suggests the need of an integrative health education and outdoor activities, as well as a better nutrition program, focusing especially on male students and the Social Sciences class.Keywords: knowledge, vitamin D, health education, sun.

Training on the Introduction of TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) to High School Students in Bandung

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a type of language test of which results are often used as a reference for new student admission in Universities. However, this test is not included in the English language learning curriculum at the secondary level so high school students are not familiar with it. Therefore, this community service activity aims at introducing the test to middle-level students so that they have knowledge and are familiar with the types of questions tested in this test. To determine the progress of students' knowledge and abilities, pre and post-tests were conducted, and the result was the improvement of the scores indicating that the learning approach chosen in this activity is in accordance with the objective of the training. In addition, a simple information system for test assessment was created using Microsoft Excel. This information system helps record student grades and makes it easier to convert TOEFL scores.

Analisa Terhadap Kemampuan Penalaran Aljabar Dan Math Anxiety Antara Siswa yang Mengikuti Pembelajaran 7E Learning Cycle dan Concept Attainment

Algebraic reasoning is one of mathematics ability that becomes goal of mathematics learning and to gain that goal, teachers need to cope the hindrance such as math anxiety. The objective of study is to analyze the attainment and escalation of algebraic reasoning in students who studied through 7E Learning Cycle and Concept Attainment, based on learning model and prior mathematical ability, in term of overall and in each class, along with math anxiety of students. The method is quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test-two-treatment designs. The samples were seventh grade junior high school students in Bandung that were consist of two classes with 40 students in 7E Learning Cycle class and 38 students in Concept Attainment class. Research’s result shows that there no significance difference of the attainment and escalation of algebraic reasoning in two experiment class based on learning model and category of early mathematical ability. But there is significance difference of the escalation of algebraic reasoning based on category of early mathematical ability in each experiment class. Besides, there is found that students have math anxiety when facing mathematics’ evaluation and tasks; and when math is involved to their future.

Al-Qur’an Literacy: A Strategy and Learning Steps in Improving Al-Qur’an Reading Skills through Action Research

There was an 11% increase in Qur’an illiteracy from 2015 to 2018 although Indonesia is a Muslim majority country. This fact sparks a question on the Islamic Education Studies (Pendidikan Agama Islam, PAI) implementation as a mandatory curriculum in Indonesia, which is still incapable of solving problems related to Qur’an illiteracy. This research was conducted in collaboration with several parties to designate practical steps aim at improving Al-Qur'an literacy in high school students in Bandung, West Java through an action research design 1,975 students. The research results suggest seven practical steps in solving Qur’an reading skills issues as critical reflections in improving students’ Al-Qur’an reading skills. These steps are abbreviated into LITERAT, which summarizes the syntax in reading the Qur’an. Its implementation is proven to have significantly improved students’ Qur’an reading skills. This research concludes that LITERAT is a relatively effective learning method in improving students’ Qur’an literacy. This finding is believed to contribute to the succession of Qur’an illiteracy eradication in West Java.

Analysis of the Characteristics of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Test on Momentum and Impulse for Senior High School Student Using Item Response Theory

Currently, 21st-century skills are needed by students, especially Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), to meet the needs of the rapidly growing world of work. It is necessary to provide debriefing during learning activities to meet these needs. Besides that, a quality instrument is needed to measure the skills of each student, the more information that the instrument can provide shows that the instrument is getting better. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of the Higher Order Thinking Skills test on momentum and impulse consisting of validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discrimination index based on item response theory analysis. The method used in this research is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach and a One-Shot Design research design. The population was second-year senior high school students in Bandung. Meanwhile, the sample of this study consisted of 122 second-year senior high school students who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was the Higher Order Thinking Skills test on momentum and impulse. Based on the result, 16 items were categorized as valid. Besides, the reliability of the test instrument was good. For the level of difficulty, an item was categorized as very difficult, an item was difficult, twelve items were medium, three items were easy, and an item was very easy. Lastly, for the discrimination index, thirteen items were considered good, and five items did not classify as good.

Evaluasi Hasil Individu Program Bootcamp Digital Ruangguru 2018-2019 di PKBM Intan Bandung

Abstract: The low participation rate below the national average for high school (SMA) students inBandung City in 2018-2019 has prompted the Ruangguru Foundation and PKBM INTAN to provide the Ruangguru Digital Bootcamp Package C program. This research aims to individually evaluate the outcomes of the program, which has carried out a set of activities related to academic education and soft skills. The program proposes to create independent and empowered individuals in order to reduce youth unemployment. Using a qualitative approach, this type of evaluative research describes the outcomes achieved based on the indicators specified by the program implementers. The evaluation is also based on the concept of empowerment in the realm of social welfare related to out- of-school students. The research was conducted in-depth to a sample of beneficiaries who have the goal of working or pursuing higher education after completing all stages of the program. Through interviews and documentation studies, the research results show that the indicators of program success in the outcome aspect have been achieved, namely having a sense of self-confidence and increasing their intellectual capacity or soft skills.

Implementation of Youth Information and Counseling Centers Related to HIV/AIDS Prevention in a Junior High School in Bandung

Background: Adolescents are the population group most at risk of HIV infection due to low knowledge about HIV/AIDS. The National Population and Family Planning Board ( Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional , BKKBN) has developed the Youth Information and Counseling Center ( Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja , PIK-R) Program as a forum for information and counseling services, one of which is about Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) including HIV/AIDS. This study aimed to explore whether the implementation of the programs related to HIV/AIDS prevention in adolescents, specifically in junior high school in Bandung City. Methods: A qualitative descriptive study was carried out at a junior high school in Bandung in August 2018. This study used a purposive sampling technique and data were collected by conducting in-depth interviews with nine program administrators who were then transcribed and coded based on the PIK-R management guidelines using the NVIVO12 software, observing the program activities and documentations study which were then triangulated. Result s : Several indicators in the growing stage had been implemented according to the guidelines, consisting of mastering ARH education materials including HIV/AIDS, conducting activities in the form of providing materials and peer counseling although without a secretariat room, and establishing networks and partnerships. Conclusion: The PIK-R program can be a media for preventing HIV/AIDS among junior high school students in Bandung regardless of resource limitations. Therefore, supports from BKKBN and the school itself is needed to improve the implementation of this program.

A psychometric evaluation of the career decision making self-efficacy scale

The assessment tool for a career currently being developed requires special treatment from a psychologist/psychometrist. The measurements are conducted when students are confused about career options. However, for students who have decided, it is uncommon for them to seek professional help. Psychological tools that focus on capturing information about students’ maturity in relation to their ability to make career decisions can help them choose a major that’s suitable for their career. This study concern on adapting the career decision-making self efficacy (CDMSE) that can predict one’s confidence in his/her ability to make career choices. The adaptation of this instrument went through several stages such as translation, back translation, testing the reliability, and testing the validity evidence of content and internal structure using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). This study used a sample of 539 high school students in Bandung and Cimahi. The construct reliability (CR) of the instrument was α=0.929. The evidence for internal structure using CFA showed that the CDMSE scale has an acceptable goodness of fit index. The standardized loading factor item in the range 0.710-0.998. It can be concluded that the Bahasa Indonesia version of the CDMSE scale has good psychometric properties and can be used for research or assessment to measure a person’s degree of confidence about his/her ability to make career choices.

Uji Konstruk dan Pengukuran Resiliensi Berdasarkan Jenis Kelamin Menggunakan Analisis Pemodelan Rasch

This study aims to (1) perform theoretical construct testing on students’ resilience inventory and (2) measuring student’s resilience based on gender. This study used a survey method with a sample of 40 high school students in Bandung. Data analysis used the RASCH model. These research findings show (1) inventory resilience has been fit with the theoretic model, and (2) female student has a tendency to a higher resilience rather than the male student. Furthermore, the measurement of student’s resilience by using this inventory can only produce high measurement information for students who have the intermediate ability. So, the researcher needs to consider eliminating item No. 18 in this inventory due to the biased towards the female gender.

Implementasi Pembelajaran PAI Melalui Daqu Method Pada Siswa di SMP Daarul Qur’an Bandung

This research examines the implementing PAI learning through the Daqu method for students at SMP Daarul Qur'an Bandung. The objectives of this study were: to analyze the general description of the Daqu Method in Daarul Qur'an Junior High School Bandung, and to analyze how the process of implementing Islamic Religious Education learning through the Daqu Method in Daarul Qur'an Junior High School students in Bandung. .
