This research consists of studies whose research objects are researched using various library resources, or studies with a technical relationship with the library data collection process. According to the findings of the study, the main goal of pie learning is to help children develop a personality that will manifest itself in their daily behavior and mentality. In addition, Islamic religious instructors have a great impact on students' achievement and personality development because they support or act as role models for the use of personality formation in the classroom.

Rhetorical style is a style or art of speaking, either achieved based on natural talent or through technical skills. The art of speaking does not only mean speaking fluently without a clear and contentless way of thinking, but an ability to speak and make speeches in a short, clear, concise and impressive manner. The purpose of this research is to understand how the rhetorical style affects the content carried out by Okky Adam on the Okky Adams YouTube channel as an educational medium in making custom chopper motorcycles and what obstacles are when creating educational content on the Okky Adams YouTube channel as an educational medium in making custom chopper motorcycles. This research uses classical rhetorical theory. The research uses a descriptive qualitative method by interviewing 6 informants, namely, Okky Adam Saputra as the key informant and the other 5 are subscribers of Okky Adams' YouTube channel, namely, Henry Dwi Prasetya, Boby Samosir, Raffy Rabbani Sanu, Okta Saputra, Ahmad Zidan Fauzan. The data collection techniques carried out in the research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study show that the rhetorical style on Okky Adams' YouTube channel as an educational medium in making custom chooper motorcycles has a great impact on the audience.

IoT-based Ubiquitous Healthcare System with Intelligent Approach to an Epidemic

Background:: The recent pandemic has shown its different shades across various solicitations, especially in the healthcare sector. It has a great impact on transforming the traditional healthcare architecture, which is based on the physical approaching model, into the modern or remote healthcare system. The remote healthcare approach is quite achievable now by utilizing multiple modern technological paradigms like AI, Cloud Computing, Feature Learning, the Internet of Things, etc. Accordingly, the pharmaceutical section is the most fascinating province to be inspected by medical experts in restoring the evolutionary healthcare approaches. COVID-19 has created chaos in the society for which many unexpected deaths occur due to delays in medication and the improper prognosis at an irreverent plan. As medical management applications have become ubiquitous in nature and technology-oriented, patient monitoring systems are getting more popular among medical actors. Method: The Internet of Things (IoT) has achieved the solution criteria for providing such a huge service across the globe at any time and in any place. A quite feasible and approachable framework has evolved through this work regarding hardware development and predictive patent analysis. The desired model illustrates various approaches to the development of a wearable sensor medium that will be directly attached to the body of the patients. These sensor mediums are mostly accountable for observing body parameters like blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, etc., and transmit these data to the cloud storage via various intermediate steps. The storage medium in the cloud will be storing the sensor-acquired data in a time-to-time manner for a detailed analysis. Further, the stored data will be normalized and processed across various predictive models. Results and Conclusion: The model with the best accuracy will be treated as the resultant model among the numerous predictive models deployed in the cloud. During the hardware development process, several hardware modules are discussed. After receiving sensor-acquired data, it will be processed by the cloud's multiple machine-learning models. Finally, thorough analytics will be developed based on a meticulous examination of the patients' cardinal, essential, and fundamental data and communicated to the appropriate physicians for action. This model will then be used for the data dissemination procedure, in which an alarm message will be issued to the appropriate authorities.

Four luminous cyclen-protected Silver-Alkynyl clusters

For investigating the coordination ability and the reactivity of Cyclen, four luminous cyclen-protected Silver-Alkynyl clusters, named [Ag5(CCtBu)2(Cyclen)3(OTf)·(OTf)2] (1), [Ag4(CCPh)(Cyclen)3(H2O)·(OTf)3] (2), [Ag4(CCPh)(Cyclen)3(H2O)·(BF4)3·(CH3OH)2] (3), and [Ag12(CCPh)6(Cyclen)6(BF4)2·(BF4)4] (4), where OTf = Trifluoromethanesulfonate, have been prepared by adding Cyclen into the different silver-alkynyl systems. Their composition and charge state, have been confirmed by X-ray single-crystal structural analysis, Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS), and other methods. The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) reveals the decomposition temperature of all four clusters was over 150 °C, showing excellent thermal stability. Contrastively studies of their emission properties by the photoluminescence (PL) spectra indicate the variation of the cluster cores have a great impact on their emission color in the solid state at 77 K. This study introduces a new way to prepare new structures of silver-alkynyl clusters, and will enlighten further explorations of the structure control of silver clusters with excellent emission.

Tuneability and optimum functionality of plasmonic transparent conducting oxide-Ag core-shell nanostructures

Tunning localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) in transparent conducting oxides (TCO) has a great impact on various LSPR-based technologies. In addition to the commonly reported mechanisms used for tunning LSPR in TCOs (e.g., size, shape, carrier density modifications via intrinsic and extrinsic doping), integrating them in core-shell structures provides an additional degree of freedom to expand its tunability, enhance its functionality, and widen its versatility through application-oriented core-shell geometrical optimization. In this work, we explore the tuneability and functionality of two TCO nanostructures; indium doped tin oxide (ITO) and gallium doped zinc oxide (GZO) encapsulated with silver shell within the extended theoretical Mie theory formalism. The effect of core and shell sizes on LSPR peak position and line width as well as absorption and scattering coefficients is numerically investigated. Simulations showed that LSPRs of ITO-Ag and GZO-Ag core-shell nanostructures have great tunning capabilities, spanning from VIS to IR spectral range including therapeutic window of human tissue and essential solar energy spectrum. Potential functionality as refractive index sensor (RIS) and solar energy absorber (SEA) are examined using appropriate figure of merits (FoM). Simulations indicate that a geometrically optimized core-shell architecture with exceptional FoMs for RIS and SEA can be realized. Contrary to carrier density manipulation, integrating TCO cores to metallic shells proves to be an effective approach to enhance tunability and optimize functionality for high performance TCO-based plasmonic devices, with minimum impact on the inherited physical and chemical properties of the used TCO-core materials.

Moving on from clinical animal-derived surfactants to peptide-based synthetic pulmonary surfactant.

Research on lung surfactant has exerted a great impact on newborn respiratory care and significantly improved survival and outcome of preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) due to surfactant deficiency because of lung immaturity. Current clinical, animal-derived, surfactants are among the most widely tested compounds in neonatology However, limited availability, high production costs, and ethical concerns about using animal-derived products constitute important limitations in their universal application. Synthetic lung surfactant offers a promising alternative to animal-derived surfactant by providing improved consistency, quality and purity, availability and scalability, ease of production and lower costs, acceptance, and safety for the treatment of neonatal RDS and other lung conditions. Third-generation synthetic surfactants built around surfactant protein B (SP-B) and C (SP-C) peptide mimics stand at the forefront of innovation in neonatal pulmonary medicine, while nasal continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) has become the standard non-invasive respiratory support for preterm infants. nCPAP can prevent the risk of chronic lung disease (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) and reduce lung injury by avoiding intubation and mechanical ventilation, is a relatively simple technique and can be initiated safely and effectively in the delivery room. Combining nCPAP with noninvasive, preferably aerosol, delivery of synthetic lung surfactant promises to improve respiratory outcomes for preterm infants, especially in low-and-middle income countries.

Cobalt‐Based Materials in Supercapacitors and Batteries: A Review

Energy demand has become a persistent concern and high‐performance energy storage systems have increasingly undergone development. Supercapacitors and batteries pose great impact on energy storage and garner a great deal of attention from technologies and researchers alike. The performance of energy saving devices is primarily determined by the electrode material in terms of high specific capacitance, excellent conductivity, remarkable natural abundance, and unique electrochemical qualities, also large surface area. Cobalt (Co)‐based materials are unique electrode materials widely used in energy storage devices. Nevertheless, a combination of Co and ferrite materials such as nickel, zinc, and copper, or Co/nonferrite materials like metal–organic frameworks and layered double hydroxides has improved their ultimate efficiency. This review deals with energy storage applications of Co‐based materials, categorizing ferrites, their electrochemical characterization, performance, also design and manufacturing intended to supercapacitors and batteries applications. Summarizing the main outcomes of the literature on batteries and supercapacitors, energy storage systems comprising Co‐based materials combined with carbon nanotubes, graphene, silica, copper, zinc, nickel, cadmium, ferrous, and lanthanum are reviewed and discussed. Lithium‐ion batteries are investigated specifically, and perspectives on Co‐based ferrite development for future generations of supercapacitors and batteries are outlined.

Protection induced by Streptococcus pneumoniae extracellular vesicles against nasal colonization and invasive infection in mice and the role of PspA

Diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus) produce a great impact on public health, killing about one million people annually despite available vaccines. Recent research has revealed that the pneumococcus produces extracellular vesicles (pEVs), which display selective cargo and hold potential for vaccine development. Here, we evaluated the immunogenicity and protective potential of pEVs derived from a non-encapsulated pneumococcal strain (R6) using murine models of pneumococcal colonization and invasive pneumonia. Characterization of the immune response revealed that while pEVs contain multiple virulence determinants, immunization with these nanoparticles only induces antibodies against a subset of them. Specifically, subcutaneous immunization elicits a high antibody response against PspA, a modest response against PrsA, and limited response against Ply, MalX and PsaA. The antibody response was further supported by agglutination studies, showing that sera from pEV immunized mice agglutinate pneumococci and that PspA contributes to this response in a strain-dependent manner. Subcutaneous immunization with pEVs provides protection in the invasive pneumonia model whereas nasal immunization results in one log reduction in pneumococcal colonization of the upper respiratory tract. Finally, PspA is a strong contributor to protection in the invasive model and provides a degree of protection even across heterologous families of PspA. We conclude that pEVs demonstrate potential for vaccine development, protecting across capsular types and providing some degree of protection across heterologous PspA variants.

Effect of the Vortex on the Movement Law of Sand Particles in the Hump Region of Pump-Turbine

The pump turbine, as the core equipment of a pumped storage power plant, is most likely to operate in the hump zone between condition changes, which has a great impact on the stable operation of the power plant, and the high sedimentation of a natural river will lead to wear and tear in the overflow components of the equipment. Therefore, this paper is based on the Euler–Lagrange model, and seeks to investigate the distribution of vortices in the hump zone of the pump turbine and its effect on the movement of sand particles. The study shows that as the flow rate increases, the strip vortex in the straight cone section of the draft tube becomes elongated, and the cluster vortex in the elbow tube section gradually decreases. The strip vortex encourages the sand particles to move along its surface, while the cluster vortex hinders the movement of the sand particles. The accumulation areas of the sand particles in the straight cone section and the elbow tube section increase axially and laterally, respectively. The blade vortex in the runner gradually occupies the flow channel as the flow rate increases, and the blade vortex near the pressure surface encourages the sand particles to move towards the suction surface, resulting in the serious accumulation of sand particles on the suction surface. As the flow rate increases, the number of blades where sand particles accumulate increases and the accumulation area moves towards the cover plate and the outlet. The flow separation vortex in the double-row cascade decreases as the flow rate increases, which drives the sand movement in the middle and lower sections of the vanes. The area of sand accumulation in the stay vane decreases with increasing flow rate, but the area of sand accumulation between the guide vanes increases and then decreases. The vortex on the wall surface of the volute gradually decreases with the flow rate, and the vortex zone at the outlet first decreases, then disappears, and finally reappears. The vortex at the wall surface suppresses the sand movement, and its sand accumulation area changes from elongated to lumpy and finally to elongated due to the increase in flow. The results of the study provide an important theoretical reference for reducing the wear of pump turbine overflow components.

Revision Surgery for Scar Contracture and Web Creep after Syndactyly Release.

Background: Revision surgery after syndactyly separation is challenging. Web creep and scarring have a great impact on function and appearance of the hand. There is a paucity of literature on revision surgery for syndactyly. The aim of this study is to present the outcomes of revision surgery for syndactyly. Methods: This retrospective study included patients who required revision surgery after syndactyly release for web creep, scar contracture affecting motion and/or bony deformities. Web creep was graded using the Withey classification and scars were graded as minimal, mild, moderate and severe based on the impact on range of motion (ROM). All patients underwent dorsal and volar triangular flaps for correction for web creep, multiple Z-plasty and/or proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ) release for correction of scar contractures and osteotomy for correction of angular/rotational bony deformities. Improvement in web creep grading, scar contracture and change in angular and/or rotational deformities were recorded. Results: The study included 9 hands in 7 patients who required surgery for 13 web creeps (four grade 2, four grade 3 and five grade 4), 20 scar contractures (five mild, seven moderate and eight severe), 6 angular (five ≤15° and one = 40°) and 1 rotational deformity. All web creeps improved to grade 1. Out of the 20 scar contractures, 14 improved to mild and 6 to moderate. Two patients underwent corrective osteotomy, one for rotational deformity and one for a 40° angular deformity which improved to 5°. Conclusions: Double opposing triangular flap presents a good option for revision of the web with no recurrence of web creep after a 1-year follow-up period. We suggest a grading system which assesses the effect of scarring on finger motion. Finally, avoiding straight volar suture lines decreases the incidence of recurrence. Application of the Chinese Visceral Adiposity Index in the Diagnosis of Hepatic Steatosis and Liver Fibrosis: A Cross-Sectional Study

Background: Visceral fat exerts a significant impact on the histopathology of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). Hence, we evaluated the application of the Chinese Visceral Adiposity Index (CVAI), a novel visceral fat marker, in predicting and diagnosing hepatic steatosis and liver fibrosis. Methods: After excluding individuals with liver disease or significant alcohol consumption, a total of 273 patients (57.9% males) aged over 18 were eligible for this cross-sectional study. Chinese Visceral Adiposity Index was calculated by age, Body Mass Index (BMI), waist circumference )WC(, triglyceride, and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Hepatic steatosis and fibrosis were measured by elastography. A P-value of less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: After adjusting for age, gender, metabolic diseases, and visceral obesity indices, each unit increase in CVAI elevated the odds of hepatic steatosis and liver fibrosis by 3.3% (P = 0.002) and 2.9% (P = 0.001), respectively. According to the analysis of variance (ANOVA), the grades of liver steatosis had a great impact on CVAI (P < 0.001), and CVAI well-discriminated grades of liver steatosis. Furthermore, the stages of liver fibrosis greatly impacted CVAI (P < 0.001), but it cannot distinguish the stages of liver fibrosis. The Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve (AUROC) for S ≥ S1 was 0.800 (0.747 to 0.846), and for F ≥ F2 was 0.810 (0.759 to 0.855). Conclusions: We concluded that CVAI is a strong predictor and accurate diagnostic factor for liver steatosis and significant fibrosis; thus, it could be a tool for screening individuals at risk of liver steatosis and the irreversible complications of fibrosis.

The Relationship Between the Buried Environment of Chinese Cultural Relics and the State of Their Unearthed Preservation

Abstract: In recent years, a large number of cultural relics have been unearthed in China, but the state of their preservation is not optimistic. The root cause is that cultural relics have been buried underground for nearly a thousand years, and the sudden environmental changes such as temperature, humidity, light radiation and air conditions after the excavation have broken the balance formed before, which naturally has a great impact on cultural relics. This paper mainly studies the relationship between the buried environment of Chinese cultural relics and the preservation status of excavations, emphasizes the important connection between the two, and finds some factors for the better preservation status of cultural relics unearthed. Through case analysis, comparative analysis and other research methods, this paper finds that no matter the buried environment is good or bad, the changes of the buried environment and the sudden changes of the unearthed environment are the core influences of the preservation status of cultural relics. Addressing the challenges towards the adoption of digital technologies in construction supply chain management

Supply chain management has shown to be an aspect of construction that is neglected, yet with great impact on project delivery time frames and the overall cost of construction projects. This research seeks to identify, assess, and propose solutions for the challenges hindering the adoption of digital technologies in construction supply chain management, hence creating a sustainable foundation for practitioners and relevant agencies to leverage the benefits of digital technologies in the management of construction supply chain. The literature review identified challenges of digital technology adoption in construction supply chain management, guiding subsequent research. A structured questionnaire captured demographic data and insights, with 171 industry professionals surveyed. Data analysis, including Likert scale ratings and Relative Impact/Feasibility Index, informed an Impact-Feasibility Matrix. This matrix categorized challenges and strategies into quadrants, aiding prioritization. A conceptual framework emerged, offering actionable insights for addressing adoption challenges. The study identified 14 challenges to digital technology adoption in construction supply chain management, ranked by respondents. These challenges were categorized based on their impact and feasibility, with strategies mapped accordingly. The resulting framework prioritizes High Impact/High Feasibility challenges for action, while Low Impact/Low Feasibility challenges may require further exploration. This strategic approach aims to address key hurdles efficiently, enhancing the adoption of digital technologies in construction supply management. The findings from this study will inform construction practitioners and relevant agencies about the challenges hindering the seamless integration of digital technologies into construction supply chain management and propose feasible strategies for addressing these challenges.

Revealing Dynamics and Competitive Mechanism of Gas-Induced Surface Segregation of PdFe0.08 Dilute Alloy by Multi-Dimensional Imaging.

The restructuring of dilute alloys under gas environments has shown a great impact on their catalytic performance due to intriguing structural sensitivity, but the structural dynamics and underlying mechanism remains elusive. Herein, we directly resolved the distinct dynamic behaviors of PdFe0.08 dilute alloys under CO or O2 environment by multidimensional imaging. The stronger binding of gaseous CO with Fe atoms stimulates Fe segregation out of the PdFe0.08, resulting in 3D growth of Fe islands, whereas the dissociative adsorption of O2 results in 2D layer-by-layer growth of segregated FeO as encapsulation overlayers that bind strongly with the Pd surface underneath. Such varied structures remarkably tune the catalytic activity for CO oxidation, showing a considerably high activity for a CO-treated sample. Our results reveal the competitive mechanism between adsorbate-metal and metal-metal interaction for gas-induced surface segregation, which should be highly considered for the rational design of dilute alloys with dynamically tuned structure and reactivity.

Physics-informed two-tier neural network for non-linear model order reduction

In recent years, machine learning (ML) has had a great impact in the area of non-intrusive, non-linear model order reduction (MOR). However, the offline training phase often still entails high computational costs since it requires numerous, expensive, full-order solutions as the training data. Furthermore, in state-of-the-art methods, neural networks trained by a small amount of training data cannot be expected to generalize sufficiently well, and the training phase often ignores the underlying physical information when it is applied with MOR. Moreover, state-of-the-art MOR techniques that ensure an efficient online stage, such as hyper reduction techniques, are either intrusive or entail high offline computational costs. To resolve these challenges, inspired by recent developments in physics-informed and physics-reinforced neural networks, we propose a non-intrusive, physics-informed, two-tier deep network (TTDN) method. The proposed network, in which the first tier achieves the regression of the unknown quantity of interest and the second tier rebuilds the physical constitutive law between the unknown quantities of interest and derived quantities, is trained using pretraining and semi-supervised learning strategies. To illustrate the efficiency of the proposed approach, we perform numerical experiments on challenging non-linear and non-affine problems, including multi-scale mechanics problems.

Comprehensive evaluation of Toxoplasma gondii in sheep intended for human consumption in Brazil: seroprevalence, isolation, and genotyping.

Ovine toxoplasmosis caused by Toxoplasma gondii is a zoonotic disease responsible for triggering reproductive problems in sheep with great public health impact. The zoonotic risk for humans occurs through the ingestion of meat contaminated with bradyzoites, water and vegetables contaminated with oocysts, or by ingesting unprocessed sheep milk contaminated with tachyzoites. The study aimed to determine the seroprevalence, isolate, and genetically characterize T. gondii from sheep in northeastern Brazil. Blood and tissue samples, including the liver, heart, brain, lung, and diaphragm, were collected from 256 sheep in slaughterhouses. The presence of anti-T. gondii IgG antibodies was assessed by the indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT), and sera with titers ≥ 1: 64 were considered positive. Tissue samples from seropositive sheep were digested in acidic pepsin solution and inoculated into two Swiss mice for T. gondii isolation and further characterized by molecular methods. The prevalence of anti-T. gondii antibodies in sheep was 31.64% and the isolation rate was 40.7%. Sixteen out of 33 isolates were submitted to mnRFLP-PCR using ten genetic markers. Four isolates were fully genotyped, and four isolates were amplified at least in one marker. All isolates were characterized as atypical genotypes, and ToxoDB #57 (n = 3) and #143 (n = 1) were identified. The detection of viable T. gondii in sheep from slaughterhouses in Brazil highlights the risk of human exposure. There is the need for proactive control and prevention measures to mitigate the risk of human exposure, considering the importance of sheep meat as a source of protein to humans.

Formulation, Evaluation and Medicinal Properties of Medicated Herbal Cream Containing Extract of Tridax Procumbens

At present, herbal medicine has a great impact on human health and diseases herbal medicine plays an important role in general aspects such as economy and medicine. The use of this herbal medicine is increasing day by day due to its quality, efficacy and safety. The present study explored a novel formulation containing extracts of Tridax procumbens, Ficus religiosa, Azadirachta indica and Curcuma longa in cream form (O/W). The formulation was characterized by determining the pharmaceutical properties such as pH, appearance, viscosity, spreadability, etc. The chemical constituents such as carbohydrates, alkaloids, steroids, etc. were detected using identification assays. The cream formulation was designed using excipients such as stearyl alcohol, beeswax, sorbitol monooleate, methylparaben, propylparaben and liquid paraffin. Compared with the control drug, the herbal drug was found to be safer. While allergy medications are associated with some side effects, the formulation of cream is much better than other formulations in terms of absorption and penetration of the active ingredient in the tropics.

Impact of conducting agents on sulfide and halide electrolytes in disordered rocksalt cathode‐based all‐solid‐state batteries

AbstractAll‐solid‐state battery (ASSB) systems have attracted significant attention due to their high energy density and safety compared with conventional batteries. Moreover, the application of Mn‐based cation‐disordered rock‐salt (DRX) that possesses cost‐effectiveness and high energy density on the ASSB system as a cathode is expected to be the superior next‐generation battery system. However, DRX cathodes require high carbon contents due to their low electronic conductivity, leading to challenges in introducing them in ASSB systems, as the high carbon levels can cause electrolyte decomposition which potentially affects overall electrochemical performance. In this work, we applied Mn‐based DRX cathodes to ASSB systems within a voltage range of 1.5–4.8 V and evaluated the suitability of cathode composites using halide and sulfide electrolytes as catholytes, respectively. The experimental results showed that the high carbon contents induced side reactions with the argyrodite, resulting in electrochemical degradation such as the drop of initial discharge voltage and the capacity fading. Meanwhile, cathode composites using a halide electrolyte exhibited relatively enhanced electrochemical performance due to its high oxidation stability regardless of the high amount of carbon contents. Consequently, the electrochemical reactions of the electrolyte, influenced by the content of conductive additives and the type of electrolyte, had a great impact on the performance of ASSB systems. This study provides a deep understanding of the interplaying among solid electrolytes, cathodes, and conductive additives and offers an important foundation for future research and development in ASSB systems.image

The effect of CHINA RAILWAY Express on alleviating the Red Sea Waterway Crisis: A GTAP model-based study

In November 2023, the Red Sea Waterway Crisis broke out, which caused the goods originally shipped to Europe via the Red Sea-Suez Canal Route to be transported around the Cape of Good Hope in Africa, thus increasing the shipping cost and shipping time. Firstly, this paper uses the Supply Chain Network Model and the Optimization Model to theoretically analyze the impact of this incident. Secondly, the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) Model is employed to analyze the impact of the crisis on China. At the same time, it also explains whether the impact of the incident can be alleviated by using CHINA RAILWAY Express (CR Express). Finally, this paper compares the upward pressure changes of domestic commodity prices in China, Germany, France, Netherlands and Italy before and after the adoption of CR Express. The results of the study are as follows. (1) The outbreak of the Red Sea Waterway Crisis has a great negative impact on China's macro economy. When China switches to the use of CR Express, the impact on China's GDP and terms of trade is reduced. (2) The outbreak of the Red Sea Waterway Crisis has a greater impact on China's import trade than on its export trade. (3) The outbreak of the Red Sea Waterway Crisis has a great negative impact on China's textile and clothing industry and electronic equipment industry. (4) CR Express can ease the upward pressure of domestic commodity prices. Taken together, the above results can provide reference for China and other countries to cope with similar impact events.

Optimization of Thermal Performance by Enhancing Natural Convection of Diverse Configurations of Fin Heat Sink Filled With Nano‐Enhanced Phase Change Materials: A Numerical Study

ABSTRACTElectronic components require faster propagation of heat to prevent overheating as well as to maintain a stable operating condition. Incorporating phase change materials (PCMs) in fin heat sinks (FHSs) can be a viable solution to enhance natural convection. In the present work, an extensive investigation has been carried out on three types (square, circular, and triangular) of FHSs filled with PCMs to find the best combinations for the thermal cooling of a heat sink. To increase the thermal conductivity of the PCMs, Cu–water nanofluid is added. The effects of three types (paraffin wax, stearic acid, and polyethylene glycol) of PCMs have been studied. Nondimensional equations have been solved numerically by using Galerkin's finite element method. A parametric investigation has been conducted by varying the Rayleigh number within the range of 103–106 to calculate the Nusselt number. Results reveal that a heat sink with PCMs can reduce the temperature rise by 6.41% and increase the Nusselt number by 4.6% compared to a heat sink without PCMs. As the height of the fins increases from 10 to 16 mm, thermal efficiency increases. Moreover, square FHSs show the best thermal performance by reducing the temperature rise by as much as 13.41% compared to circular and triangular FHSs. Therefore, this comparative study shows that the dimensional configurations of FHSs with varying PCMs have a great impact on thermal performance and thus provide one the opportunity to obtain an effective arrangement of heat sinks.
