The citation should be “Agreement of the Serum Spec fPL and 1,2-O-Dilauryl-Rac-Glycero-3-Glutaric Acid-(6′-Methylresorufin) Ester Lipase Assay for the Determination of Serum Lipase in Cats with Suspicion of Pancreatitis.2 Also, on page 47, the statement, “The cPLI results were consistent with pancreatitis in all cases, and DGGR lipase exceeded the upper reference limit (108 U/L) in all cases (DGGR lipase ranged from 144 up to 2447 U/L, with a median value [MV] of 420 U/L; Figure 1).” The reference ranges for the DGGR from Konelab 20i; Thermo Fischer Scientific Inc, were based on the manufacturer’s recommendations in accordance with two publications; “Agreement of Serum Spec cPL with the 1,2-o-Dilauryl-Rac-Glycero Glutaric Acid-(6′-methylresorufin) Ester (DGGR) Lipase Assay and with Pancreatic Ultrasonography in Dogs with Suspected Pancreatitis,”3 and “1,2-O-Dilauryl-Rac-Glycero-3-Glutaric Acid-(6′-Methylresorufin) Ester Lipase Assay for the Determination of Serum Lipase in Cats with Suspicion of Pancreatitis.”4 We would like to point out that the results of different colorimetric lipase assays were used in our study versus these studies, so it is possible the reference intervals would not be identical, (even when DGGR is used as a substrate). Finally, we also neglected to reference an article evaluating Spec fPL and DGGR-lipase (LipC Roche) versus a detailed gold standard (histopathology) in cats; for further reading the article is: “Comparison of Serum Spec fPL and 1,2-o-Dilauryl-Rac-Glycero-3-Glutaric Acid-(6′-Methylresorufin) Ester Assay in 60 Cats Using Standardized Assessment of Pancreatic Histology.”5 REFERENCES 1Neumann S.
