RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENT ON THE FORMATION OF TEENAGERS’ ARTISTIC-PERFORMING VALUES

The article highlights the developed methodology of the experiment on the formation of teenagers’ artistic-performing values in the process of learning singing. Development of the author’s methodology was carried out according to such guidelines as formation of a positive motivational sphere in order to activate interest in musical phenomena; awareness of artistic knowledge, mastery of expressive means of musical art; formation of knowledge, abilities and skills in the process of learning singing with the aim of developing teenagers’ artistic- performing values. During the research work, the most important tasks in the context of the molding experiment were singled out, namely: emergence of interest and formation of teenagers’ desire to get new musical impressions; formation of desire to learn musical material; activation of the need of students-teenagers in mastering musical-singing activities; acquiring knowledge about musical-choral repertoire; development of singing abilities and skills; achieving of performing results during musical-singing activities. Implementation of the experimental methodology was carried out sequentially during the expository-stimulating, information-evaluative and performing-creative stages.Key words: artistic-performing values, teenagers, experimental methodology, results of the experiment.

FORMATION OF LAW CONSCIOUSNESS AND FORMS OF ITS DEFORMATIVE EXPRESSION

Interpersonal relations are regulated by legal norms, which pro- actively and reactively control what a citizen should and should not do. Knowledge of the law and its norms contributes to the formation of law awareness and consciousness, expressed in human social attitudes towards order and law. In response to violating the rule of law, society applies reactive social control, which takes the form of punishment and whose purpose is to restore justice, prevent new crimes, and resocialize the offender. There is a great abundance of norms and various punishments in society; however, despite this, crime has always been and most likely will continue to be an integral part of society, significantly reducing people's well-being. In the modern world, the formation of teenagers' law consciousness as their criminal behavior regulator deserves special attention. Law consciousness means understanding the existing norms and forming the necessary practical skills for implementation. Without it, societys future welfare is put into doubt, and the risk of committing a crime increases significantly. The research was interested in the factors contributing to law consciousness formation and/or its de- formative expressions. Identifying factors influencing the formation or non-formation of law consciousness allowed us to make recommendations for its formation, thereby contributing to crime prevention and increasing civil well-being.

Infantilisation in relations with parents as a factor of adolescents’ attitude to money

Introduction. Formation of financial awareness is a critical aspect of adulthood. Financial awareness in adolescence is formed primarily in the context of disposing financial resources provided by parents, which explains the relevance of research into parental contribution to the development of adolescents’ financial awareness. The aim of the study is to identify the contribution of the parents’ infantilising attitude that is hereby treated as underestimation of the adolescent’s attained level of subjective adulthood, his/her perception of own financial rights and financial awareness. Materials and methods. A total of 1,031 adolescents aged 12-17 (64.9% – girls) took part in the survey. The empirical data were collected using I. Beutler’s and C. Gudmunson’s New Adolescent Money Attitude Scales as adapted by the authors, as well as the modified T. Dembo – S. Rubinstein self-assessment diagnostic technique. Results. The single-factor analysis of variance carried out on the basis of aggregate sample (without regard for the gender) confirmed that the adolescents who showed the tendency toward infantilising upbringing by the parents were characterised by higher values of the Financial Rights indicator (F=3.35 at p=0.03) and lower values of the Financial Awareness indicator (F=3.37 at p=0.03). The increase in the financial rights indicator under the influence of infantilising parental upbringing is most characteristic of the adolescents with low level of subjectively attained adulthood. The research results show the need to take into account the nature of parent-child relationship – as well as the teenager’s attitude towards himself/herself as a maturing person – in psychological and pedagogical work aimed at the formation of teenagers’ responsible behaviour in the sphere of economic relations. Conclusion. The obtained results show the need to construct individual routes of psychological and pedagogical support of adolescent learners in their adulthood, in particular, in the field of economic relations based on comprehensive approach that takes into account not only the peculiarities of adolescent development, but also the system of teenager’s relations mediating the nature of one’s social formation.

ВЗАИМОСВЯЗЬ ДИНАМИКИ ЛИЧНОСТНОГО РОСТА И СФОРМИРОВАННОСТИ ЛИЧНОСТНЫХ КОПИНГ-РЕСУРСОВ ПОДРОСТКОВ

The problem of value orientations’ formation of teenagers in the context of a general educational organization is actualized. The review on the views of researchers on the concepts of “personal growth”, “coping”, “coping resources” is presented. The idea of close connection between personal growth and personal coping resources is substantiated. The current situation of the problem of personal growth of teenagers in modern general education organization is revealed. The assessment of the formation of adolescents' personal coping resources is made by studying the dynamics of the indicators of the teenagers’ value attitudes to family, themselves, and a human being in general. The author uses the diagnostic methodology of I.V. Kuleshova, P.V. Stepanov, and D.V. Grigoriev. The results of the study of the personal growth of students in grades 5–11 are presented. The possible reasons influencing the personal growth of a student are identified and described. The author concludes that the formation of the value attitude of teenagers to the world around them and to themselves is directly related to the development of personal coping resources, which, in turn, affect personal growth.

Performing identity: identity formation in the teenage live theatre audience

ABSTRACT Can traditional live theatre affect the identity formation of teenagers? Drawing upon a six-year, qualitative study of Canadian, independent school live theatre audiences and a review of identity formation and audience studies, this paper offers three findings of interest to high school English teachers. These speak to the need for English teachers to design their programme of theatre-going in light of students’ digital habitus, to establish protocols around cellphone use, and to explore with students the defining characteristics of both digital media and live theatre. The paper concludes by suggesting the potential for live theatre to contribute positively to student’s identity formation at a time when digital media is pervasive.

Personal Bible Reading and the Faith Formation of Teenagers in a Digital Age

Abstract History shows that the use of the Bible by Christians has changed over the centuries. With the digitization and the ubiquitous accessibility of the Internet, the handling of texts and reading itself has changed. Research has also shown that young people’s faith adapts to the characteristics of the ‘age of authenticity’, which changes the role of normative institutions and texts in general. With regard to these developments this article deals with the question: How relevant is personal Bible reading for the faith formation of highly religious Protestant German teenagers? Answers to this question are provided from previous empirical surveys and from two qualitative studies among highly religious teenagers in Germany. The findings indicate, that other spiritual practices for young people today are more important as a source of faith than reading the Bible. The teenagers interviewed tend to seek an individual affective experience when reading the Bible, so that the importance of cognitive grasp of the content takes a back seat to personal experience.

The purpose of our research is to justify methodological backgrounds for the purpose of investigating subjectivity of a personality and to test empirically the level of person’s formation of teenagers. Methods of the research. The following theoretical methods of the research were used to solve the tasks formulated in the article: a categorical method, structural and functional methods, the methods of the analysis, systematization, modeling, generalization. The questionnaire method was used as the experimental one. In order to conduct the empirical part of the research, the author’s questionnaires were developed for both parents and teachers. The results of the research. The empirical research that lasted since 2017 to 2019 was described in the article. The task was to identify the specifics of the literary environment of pupils. This task was considered essential, and determining the level of the development of a teenager as a subject of cognitive activity was an additional task. It was noted that the substantive aspect of communication between adolescents was characterized by the imbalance of their interests in relation to different directions of literary culture. The latter one is largely represented by fantastic and detective literature. There is also a general tendency to displace literary classics out of the literary interests of adolescents. At the stage of questioning the attempt was made to pre-imagine the degree of the development of a teenager as a subject of cognitive activity due to the influence of the literary environment, which had been determined at the level of studying the pupils’ thoughts on literature, the specifics of their literary reality which had been reflected, the means of mastering literary culture. The empirical data obtained indicated a rather weak expression in adolescents’ orientation towards another person, penetration into their inner world of the person in a situation of a real communication with other students and teachers. Conclusions. Thus, a comparison of four types of pupils (two experimental and two control classes) within the possibilities presented by the questionnaire leads to the conclusion that the level of the development of adolescents as subjects of cognitive activity is equally low, according to different literary environment of pupils, which is determined by studying in a case of different programs. Teens, as a rule, are not able to carry out the internal dialogue with the text, to substantiate their own position, that is the subjectivity of pupils is not properly developed through either a regular curriculum or a specialized program in the course of «World Literature».Increasing the time for quasi-communication of pupils with the literature provided by the program of its in-depth study leads to some positive results, but does not itself eliminate the problem of under-development of a teenager as a subject of cognitive activity. The subjectivity is emphasized to be formed provided by such a deliberate influence of a teacher on pupils, which will change the personal position of teens in literature. One way to achieve this position may be to overcome teens’ misunderstanding of literature as a particular form of quasi-communication, established in the course of questioning.

The relevance of the research is related to the need to develop pedagogical strategies for the formation of reading generations. The analysis of domestic studies of reading of teenagers for the last 50 years is carried out. We identify and describe the basic characteristics of teenagers reading behavior. Research results show that reading occupies a fairly stable place among the priority forms of leisure activities, despite the growing diversity and availability of other forms of leisure time. But due to the psychological and physiological characteristics of adolescence, their dynam-ism, it is not its main form. It is shown that the reading intensity of teenagers changes under the in-fluence of the social situation. The development of computer technologies, the increase in educa-tional loads, and the general lack of time reduce reading activity, but do not exclude teenagers from reading activities in general. The repertoire of teenager reading is gradually narrowing, limited to 2–3 genres. It is established that the top three most influential agents of influence on teenager reading include friends, parents, and teachers. Conclusions are drawn about the need for pe-dagogical support of teenagers reading activity. The main pedagogical tasks are defined: formation of teenagers’ awareness of the value of reading as a way of intellectual leisure, maintaining the balance of entertainment and cognitive motives for reading, expanding the genre and thematic repertoire of books read.

On the basis of many theoretical and experimental studies the article envisages the formation of teenagers’ self-consciousness to be based on the “Me-concept” of personality including a dynamic system of self-representations, covering cognitive, emotional and evaluative, and behavioral components. It is proved that consciousness is closely related to speech activities. The act of consciousness is the formation of perceptions of oneself that is not possible without speech. Self-consciousness is the result of the development of activities and intercourse. It is described that in the teenage age the leading activity is intimate-personal communication, therefore the awareness of oneself as a personality takes place among teenagers, first of all, in the process of teenagers’ intercourse with peers. During this period, teenagers are acutely experiencing disadvantages in the process of their speech, they easily notice non-standard or irregular forms of speech and violations in the pronunciation of sounds. It is established that there is a correlation between the nature of violations in the pronunciation of sounds and the peculiarities of self-consciousness among teenagers. This allowed us to find that the level of self-consciousness development of teenagers with violations in the pronunciation of sounds hardly differs from the age norm, but certain differences are still present. It is proved that the level of expressiveness of the difference depends on the nature of speech disorders and personality-based traits of a teenager. It is studied that children with fuzzy, but close to normal, pronunciation of sounds shouldn’t have significant effect on the formation of self-consciousness. It is experimentally found that teenagers with significant disorders in pronunciation of sounds are poorly understood by others, and this affects their position in the classroom, leads to bullying, lacks confidence, understated self-esteem, inferiority complexity, increased criticality to oneself, causing a difference between “Me-real” and “Me-ideal” and it leads to negative personality formations, as a result, they are more vulnerable and aggressive. The implementation of speech therapy correction and psychological support in the form of counseling, trainings, self-development programs, keeping diaries of self-examination, etc. are actual to overcome these negative personality-based new formations.

ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ФОРМУВАННЯ ПСИХОЛОГІЧНИХ ЗАХИСНИХ МЕХАНІЗМІВ У СИТУАЦІЯХ СПІЛКУВАННЯ В ДІТЕЙ ПІДЛІТКОВОГО ВІКУ

On the basis of theoretical research the relevance of the problem of psychological protection for the personality’s communicative development is proved, the conceptual and categorical apparatus of the research is described, the approaches to the analysis of psychological protective mechanisms are presented, the basic functions of psychological defense, its variants and mechanisms are defined. During the pilot study, teenage children with problems on communication were identified and their psychological protective mechanisms in communication situations were experimentally investigated. There are scientifically proved and differentiated the psychological peculiarities of the formation of teenagers’ protective mechanisms without any problems in communication, and pupils with difficulties in the intercourse. The adaptive strategies of children with different peculiarities of communicative development are described, and the success of interpersonal interaction depends on their possession. It has been proved that the most expressive psychological protections of teenagers without any communication problems were the following: projection, rationalization and negation. The least expressive mechanisms were the compensation and hypercompensation. It has been found that the psychological protections of teenagers with communication problems have a different nature: these schoolchildren more often use communication mechanisms of regression, negation, substitution and displacement. At the same time, the least expressive, like the previous group, are the compensation and hypercompensation processes. On the basis of the experimental research, the main directions of the effective psychological protection formation of teenagers with communicative problems in development are determined. The system of phased psychological influence on teenagers with communication difficulties is described. The conducted study made it possible to draw conclusions about the need for an expanded and structured study of psychological protective mechanisms, since they are the basis for the formation of effective communicative behavior of teenagers. It has been established that providing necessary changes in the field of communication would create the basis for the formation of skills of successful social adaptation in the system of communicative interaction.

Experimental study of the effects of sports tourism on the level of the development of physical training of teenagers

Sports tourism in Ukraine is an important component of the general state system of physical culture and sport. The problem of physical training of teenagers, who practice tourism remains for today the most urgent among foreign and native scientists, who study this subject of attention specially and within the research of sports training of young tourists. The study included 46 pupils of 5–6 classes of the following educational institutions: Ss 40 and Ss 170 of the city Kiev with the deep studying of German, the ascertaining experiment took place in 2016. For determining the development level of school children’s physical training there were used valid and reliable methods, which results gave a possibility to collect qualitative and quantitative materials. The criteria of formation of teenagers’ physical culture are: force features; flexibility, endurance; adroitness; ability to jump; speed, - expressed by indicators, which manifestation measure characterizes more or less degree of a criterion expression that, in its turn, helps to determine levels of formation of young teenagers’ physical culture. The authors separated three levels of formation of teenager’s physical culture: high, middle, low. The analysis of the level of physical training of teenagers of I group revealed that 50 % of studied persons have the high level, 36,4 % of interrogated persons have the middle level, 13,6 % of respondents relate to the low one. The diagnostic results of the health level of teenagers of I group demonstrated that 59,1 % of studied persons have the high level, 36,4 % - the middle level, 4,5 % of interrogated persons – the low level. The analysis of the level of physical training of teenagers of II group revealed that 16,7 % of studied persons have the high level, 45,8 % of interrogated persons have the middle level, 37,5 % of respondents relate to the low one

Identity Formation among Teenagers: The Role of Training Camp

The aim of the present study was to examine the impact of jihadi camps on the identity formation of teenagers in Iran. Seventy-six campers participated in the study and were randomly divided into control (n = 42) and experimental groups (n =34). The control group does not follow the camp’s regular program while the experimental group attended to the camp’s regular program. All participants completed the Dellas Identity Status Inventory (DISI) (Dellas and Jernigan, 1987); this questionnaire consists of two subscales of achiever: commitment and exploration. The results revealed statistically significant differences on the experimental and nonexperimental group, in two specific attitude subscales. These findings imply that participation in this particular camp can have a positive influence on teenagers’ professional Identity.

Self-esteem and Interpersonal Relations in Adolescence

Abstract Adolescence is a core period of personality development in ontogenesis. The formation of teenagers’ interpersonal relations is one of the central developmental tasks in adolescence (R.J. Havighurst). The study reveals the role of the specificity of adolescents’ attachment to parents and peers to form teenagers’ self-esteem, and the influence of attachment to parents on development of teenagers’ interpersonal relations. 161 pupils aged 13-18 years participated in the research. The researchers used the Inventory of Parent Peer Attachment (IPPA) by Armsden and Greenberg [1], the Research Technique of Teenagers’ Interpersonal Relations by Sobchik [2], the Self-Esteem Scale Dembo-Rubinstein version by Prikhozhan [3] in the author's modification were used. The study showed that adolescents with different types of attachment to parents had specific features of self-esteem and specifics in their interpersonal relations. The research concludes that the system of attachment to parents is important for developing the psychological well-being of an individual adolescent.

Competencias comunicativas y fortalecimiento de la inteligencia emocional

La investigación Competencias comunicativas en el aula para el desarrollo y fortalecimiento de la inteligencia emocional en adolescentes, realizada en la Institución Educativa Eugenio Sánchez Cárdenas, del Departamento de Córdoba, presenta el trabajo desarrollado en dos categorías: Inteligencia emocional y competencia comunicativas. En relación con la primera se asume la posición de Mayer y Salovey (1998) que plantea el procesamiento de información emocional apoyado en los aportes de la psicología cognitiva y las competencias comunicativas desde el marco de las competencias ciudadanas (2005), se toman aportes de CHaux (2004), Pérez(2006) Echevarria (1996) y Maturana (2002), quienes dan importancia a la comunicación como proceso social que se fundamenta en la interacción.El presente artículo de investigación aborda el desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional de los estudiantes de octavo de la Institución Educativa Eugenio Sánchez Cárdenas, a través del fortalecimiento de las competencias comunicativas. El propósito entonces es lograr que el desarrollo de los procesos comunicativos se articulen con el desarrollo de la IE , a fin de establecer mejores relaciones entre compañeros y, al mismo tiempo, contribuir con la formación de adolescentes emocionalmente estables, capaces de regular sus emociones las de los otros. Y proporciona herramienta pedagógicas llevadas a cabo por los estudiantes mediante acciones comunicativas en el aula, convirtiéndose en transformadores de su propia realidad.
