Abstract

The problem of value orientations’ formation of teenagers in the context of a general educational organization is actualized. The review on the views of researchers on the concepts of “personal growth”, “coping”, “coping resources” is presented. The idea of close connection between personal growth and personal coping resources is substantiated. The current situation of the problem of personal growth of teenagers in modern general education organization is revealed. The assessment of the formation of adolescents' personal coping resources is made by studying the dynamics of the indicators of the teenagers’ value attitudes to family, themselves, and a human being in general. The author uses the diagnostic methodology of I.V. Kuleshova, P.V. Stepanov, and D.V. Grigoriev. The results of the study of the personal growth of students in grades 5–11 are presented. The possible reasons influencing the personal growth of a student are identified and described. The author concludes that the formation of the value attitude of teenagers to the world around them and to themselves is directly related to the development of personal coping resources, which, in turn, affect personal growth.
