The article is dedicated to the content disclosure of the formation of research competencies to operate with simple and complex statistical indicators of gender equality of the future specialists in educational measurement in the specialization «Gender Studies: Scientific Aspect» in various research situations «Gender Studies: Scientific Aspect» in various research situations. This includes an estimation of the absolute values of statistics, determining the indicators of the absolute gender gap and gender parity, calculating the coefficients of gender asymmetry, as well as calculating indices of gender development, gender inequality, global gender gap and others. In the article, the authors illustrated the main features of the formation of research competencies of the students regarding operation with statistical indicators of gender equality on the examples of two simulated research situations, the essence of which was to conduct statistical and qualitative analysis of demography and social sphere. The content of the educational activities of the subjects was to use reference statistics materials and determine the ratio of the number of females and males (simple and complex indices of gender equality). As a result of the study, the authors came to the conclusion that the formation of the skills to operate with statistical indicators of gender equality in the process of practical training of masters in the specialty «Gender Studies: scientific aspect» is characterized by the following features: firstly, the practice of using simulated learning situations, the essence of which was to study the use of simple gender indices in demographic and social statistics and to adapt a complex index of gender inequality to the regional level, helps students to systematically implement the theoretical and practical components of training, thus more thoroughly master the basic categories of the basics of gender research; secondly, the need for a qualitative analysis of the calculated data stimulates cognitive activity and self-educational activities of the students; thirdly, an important component of the practical training according to the suggested method was the formation of students' research skills, development of the competencies to generalize and formulate systematic conclusions from a series of gender statistical and qualitative research.
