ROLE OF PHYSICAL LOADS AND DRINKING MINERAL WATER IN PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF OBESITY - BASIS OF METABOLIC SYNDROME

The review is devoted to the topical issues of non-pharmacological treatment of metabolic syndrome, namely, fight against hypodynamia (the mechanism of sanogenetic action of Scandinavian walking) and insulin resistance (the effect of drinking mineral water on normalization of insulin secretion). Non-medicamentous measures aimed at reducing body weight, changing dietary stereotypes, quiting bad habits such as smoking and alcohol abuse, increasing physical activity. These changes contribute to the formation of healthy lifestyle, they are highly effective, increase oxygenation of tissues, improve functional state of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems and have a pathogenetically directed effect on all links of metabolic syndrome: abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, violation of carbohydrate metabolism, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, sympaticotonia, arterial hypertension.

Active Teaching Methods as Effective Means for Healthy Lifestyle Formation at Health and Safety Training Course

Проведен анализ литературных источников по вопросу практического применения педагогически обоснованных путей и способов побуждения к ведению здорового образа жизни обучающихся. Значительная роль в формировании знаний, умений и навыков здорового образа жизни принадлежит школе. Статья посвящена особенностям формирования знаний о здоровом образе жизни у обучающихся среднего звена в курсе предмета «Основы безопасности жизнедеятельности», содержание которого выходит за рамки урока, включая также внеурочную и внеклассную деятельность. Особое внимание уделяется диагностическому инструментарию оценки уровня сформированности исследуемого качества и разработанной методики, основанной на активных методах обучения: урочная деятельность (технология развития критического мышления: работа в группах по технологии «мировое кафе», интерактивный метод обучения: метод «мозгового штурма» и др.); внеурочная деятельность (выполнение творческих заданий, составление синквейна и др.); внеклассная деятельность (участие в мероприятиях физкультурно-спортивной направленности - соревнования, игры, конкурсы, эстафеты, направленных на формирование здорового образа жизни, разработка сценария, съемка видео, представление на классных часах и др.). Разработан критериальный аппарат, основанный на следующих взаимосвязанных компонентах: когнитивный (характеризует знания человека о своем здоровье); мотивационный (определяет особенности мотивации к познанию в области здорового образа жизни); деятельностный (предполагает наличие деятельности по осуществлению здорового образа жизни). К взятым за основу компонентам были сформулированы показатели и уровни сформированности (высокий, средний, низкий). В диагностику по каждому компоненту представлены адаптированные по специфике исследования методики. Представлены результаты исследования, оценивающие эффективность применения методики, формирующей знания о здоровом образе жизни у обучающихся среднего звена, основанной на активных методах обучения.

STRATEGY OF POPULATION AND PERSONALIZED SCHOOL HEALTH

Strategy of development of school health in modern conditions includes the population and personalized levels of sanitary and epidemiological well-being of children, the formation of culture and skills of healthy lifestyle for children, adolescents and young adults. A separate trend is sanitary-epidemiological diagnostics: sanitary-epidemiological examinations, investigations, surveys, studies, tests and other types of assessments. In the context of weakening sanitary and epidemiological supervision, the responsibility of the heads of educational institutions for ensuring sanitary and epidemiological wellbeing of students, the prevention of school-related diseases, the protection and promotion of health of rising generation is increasing. Personalized school health should provide individual risk assessments to the health of students and the justification for individual road maps (navigation) for maintaining and promoting health, and for formation of healthy lifestyle for students. The development of population and personal school health requires adequate resources. The main investors should be state structures and business community.

Survey of schistosomiasis KAP and influencing factors of behaviors among residents in Jiangsu Province

To understand the schistosomiasis control knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP), and influencing factors of behaviors among residents in Jiangsu Province, so as to provide the evidence for making effective health education and health promotion models. The probability proportionate to size sampling (PPS) and multi-stage sampling methods were adopted to sample the research objects. A questionnaire survey of schistosomiasis control KAP was conducted in the residents of 16 to 69 years old in schistosomiasis endemic areas of Jiangsu Province, and the results were statistically analyzed. The total awareness rate of the participants was 95.98% for schistosomiasis control knowledge. The correct rates of attitude and practice were 89.06% and 77.43%, respectively. The awareness/correct rates of knowledge, attitude and practice reduced in turns significantly (χ2 =1 282.96, P < 0.01). The knowledge awareness rate of fishermen and boatmen was 90.98%, but their attitude correct rate was only 53.81% ( χ2 =120.52, P < 0.01). The unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that with the education level increasing, their practice correct rate rose, and the participants with the college degree or above had a higher correct rate compared to illeterate ones (OR = 6.411, 95% CI: 4.896-8.395). The practice correct rate of the fisher-men and boatmen was only 5.1% of the rate of the farmers (OR = 0.051, 95% CI: 0.029-0.091). The total awareness rate of basic knowledge of schistosomiasis prevention and control in the residents of Jiangsu Province has reached the requirements in the "National Schistosomiasis Control Long-term Planning Outline (2004-2015)", but the correct rate of behaviors is low. The education level, occupation and residential areas affect the health behaviors of schistosomiasis prevention and control. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out targeted health promotion activities to promote the formation of healthy lifestyle and behaviors.

The problems of students’ physical training individualization

Purpose: to assess physical health and biological age of 1st 2nd year girl students, depending on their physical activity, as well as to work out system of control over students’ health. Material: in the research 1st and 2nd year girl students (n=120) participated. Results: students’ busy in their working day was analyzed as well as student’s understanding of healthy life style during working day. We also paid attention to reasons of sharp weakening of students’ physical fitness and determined integral indicator of healthy life style conception as well as significance of every its component. The following concepts are introduced: physical health, including individual level of physical condition; physical fitness and physical state. We found normal level for every component of physical health and correlation between population, regional and individual norms. Conclusions: For students’ healthy life style formation it is necessary to observe norm requirements to all its components. Violation of any component’s norm results in worsening general final result.

RISK FACTORS OF ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN ORGANIZED COHORT OF MALE EMPLOYEES OF THE MACHINE BUILDING PLANT

Aim. To study the incidence of arterial hypertension (HT) and prevalence of risk factors and occupational factors (OF) among people with HT on the base of engineering plant within program of formation of healthy lifestyle and prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases among the contingent, attached for the medical assistance for the period 2012-2016. Material and methods . The study included men (n=586), aged 20-65 years – the workers of the engineering plant directly involved in the works in conditions of industrial occupational exposures. These specified works occupied not less than 50% of the general time, and work experience at the enterprise in examined workers was at least 5 years. Results. All examined people were divided into 2 groups according to the office blood pressure (BP) levels: without HT – 380 people (64.8%) and with HT – 206 patients (35.2%). HT was observed more often among people without higher education (39.2 vs 28.3%; р<0.07). The prevalence of morphological changes on the fundus of eyes was significantly different in hypertensive patients and people without HT (30.6% vs 21.3%, respectively; p<0.04), that appears to be evidence of early organ disorders. OF were found more often in the group of workers with elevated office BP (31.9% vs 23.2%; p<0.04). Metabolic syndrome were detected in 44.8% of hypertensive patients vs 22.4% in people without HT (p<0.001). The people with HT but without other components of metabolic syndrome were taken for particular analysis. In this group the higher education was also much less often (24.0% vs 57.6%; p<0.001), and OF (excluding work at the computer) were revealed more often (87.3% vs 80.2%; p <0.06). Conclusion. The development of HT in workers of engineering plant is influenced, firstly, by traditional risk factors – age and components of metabolic syndrome, and higher education is a kind of HT anti-risk factor. OF were significantly more common in the group of workers with elevated office BP. Periodic checkups should be the routine method to identify chronic non-communicable diseases among people of working age.

Formation of healthy lifestyle of young generation in the process of physical education

The article deals with the problem of preserving the physical and moral health of the younger generation. Numerous publications, which set up the views of researchers, politicians and public figures, show the expansion of negative trends pertaining to the deterioration of health and physical fitness of young people. It was found out that the search for the ways of the preservation and development of the nation, its health, labor and reproductive adequacy should be addressed to the teaching community, which is aware of its responsibility for the physical, social and psychological well-being of future generations. It becomes obvious that the preservation and strengthening of the students’ health today is an integral part of the educational process in the higher education institutions of Ukraine.

In the article the characteristic of a structure of arrangements about the formation of healthy lifestyle and prophylaxis of noninfectious diseases is given. The main content of complex purpose programs about prophylaxis of noninfectious diseases at a level of Russian Federation subjects is opened. The algorithm of forming healthy lifestyle is performed, and functional reserving of basic elements of medical prophylaxis as well.

Model of students’ sport-oriented physical education with application of information technologies

Purpose: working out and practical application of approaches to perfection of physical education system’s functioning. Material: in the research students (boys- n=92, girls- n=45) of 18-20 years old took part. Results: structural model of students’ sport-oriented physical education with application of information technologies has been formed. The main purpose of such model’s creation was cultivation of students’ demand in physical functioning and formation of healthy life style in students’ environment. The model of the process includes orienting, executive and control components. In this model groups of commonly accepted physical education and sport-oriented groups function. Conclusions: Main structural components of the created model have been determined: conceptual, motivation-active, resulting.

ANALYSIS OF ATTITUDES TO HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORTS IN MODERN RUSSIA

The article is dedicated to the study of changes in the attitude of Russian citizens to the healthy lifestyle and mass sports. The study is based on the statistical data for 2008–2013, including the results of opinion polls performed by the Yuri Levada Analytical Center, and on the monitoring of indicators of the population’s attitude to physical education and sports on the territory of the Russian Federation for 2008–2012 and on the monitoring of operating efficiency of the executive bodies of Subjects of the Russian Federation for 2011–2012. The topicality of the material is determined by the fact that today only a quarter of the population of Russia is regularly engaged in sports and physical training. The aim of the article is to identify the factors enhancing the formation of healthy lifestyle and to show the interconnection and the necessity of purposeful propaganda of healthy lifestyle and physical education aimed at involving wide masses in regular sports. The study shows a reduction of the number of youth among people paying serious attention to their physical training. At the same time, the study shows the relationship between a positive perception of life and regular sporting. Thus, people who do physical exercises several times a week or daily, feel happy two times more often than those who do sports rarely among the respondents in Russia. So, we can see that there is an urgent need to increase activities propagating healthy lifestyle, mass sports and physical education, particularly as the basic means enhancing the health of the nation, preventing various diseases, combating bad habits and creating a positive perception of life by citizens of the country.

DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH SPORTS IN SOCHI

Relevance of research.The problem of health decline of the younger generationis becomingincreasingly important. At present, the overalllevel of health deviation of children in Russia is annuallyincreasing by 7%. Because of modern lifestyle, most adults have weak motivation for physical activity andlow perceptions about healthy lifestyle as well as the sport.Implementing this policy, the State allocates substantial funding for the development of children’sand youth sport. Interests of the state are the following: efficient use of physical culture and sports to bringup patriotism of citizens, to prepare them for the protection of the country and serve in the army, healthpromotion, maintaining high availability and competitiveness of able-bodied persons in the labor market.The state is interested in the efficient development of sports and recreational clubs that make up such animportant segment of the sports industry as a recreational sport, as provision of sports and recreationalservices to the population affects the formation of healthy lifestyle, improvement in public health and thequality of human resources of the national economy.Holding in Russia Sochi Olympic Games-2014 significantly affected the increase of winter sportpopularity, the interest increased by 60 percent. Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko has said that it is stillnot enough for such a big country as Russia.The problem of further improving athletic training is not merely a search for new methods of trainingand selection, but most of all, a broad involvement of children to sports with further sports orientation.The object of studyis children’s and youth sports in the city of Sochi.The purpose of the studyis to determine the level of realization of state programs for thedevelopment of children’s and youth sport in the city of Sochi.Research methods and organization:1 Analysis and synthesis of data from literature and Internet resources;2 The method of mathematical statistics, processing the study results.Conclusions and suggestions.The most important link in the development of youth sport and itsbasement in the education system have always been and still remain youth sport schools which has trainedmany champions of Russia, Europe, World and Olympic Games. In connection with the preparation andholding of Sochi Olympic Games-2014 there was a significant increase in children’s and youth sport schools.Today 24 children’s sports schools are already active in Sochi.Further development of youth sport cannot go on the only way of increasing the number of sportsschools. The development of youth sports could also be contributed by the establishment of sportsclubs ateducational institutions. Proper organizing of the educational process at primary school, high school, andvocational school is unthinkable without the involvement of young people to the sport necessary to improvetheir lifestyle and mental performance. Pedagogical Approaches to the Formation of Healthy Lifestyle and its Implementation in the Activities of Medical Libraries

The article presents the information on modern conceptual health models that should be considered when forming the healthy lifestyle (HLS). It is argued that the implementation of the concept of healthy lifestyle in modern conditions requires a new approach based on the principles of educational system. It is shown, how such principles are used in the Republican Medical Library and Information Center (Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan) in relation to the readers of the library (doctors and patients of hospitals), students of Kazan State University of Culture and Arts, undertaking there their practice, post graduate students of system of professional development and retraining of staff of medical libraries.

LIETUVOS JŪRININKŲ GYVENSENOS IR SVEIKATOS YPATUMAI

Jūrininkų gyvensenos ir sveikatos tyrimai yra svarbūs jūrininkų sveikatos stiprinimui. Tirti 208 Lietuvos aukštosios jūreivystės mokyklos nuolatinių ir ištęstinių studijų studentai bei kursų klausytojai (esami ir būsimi jūrininkai). 166 (79,8 proc.) apklaustieji buvo didžiąją savo gyvenimo dalį pragyvenę mieste, o 42 (20,2 proc.) – kaime/rajone. Taikyta apklausa raštu. Tyrimui naudotas Klaipėdos universiteto Sveikatos mokslų fakulteto ir Lietuvos aukštosios jūreivystės mokyklos mokslininkų sudarytas klausimynas. Taikytas chi kvadrato (χ2) kriterijus. Statistinis hipotezių reikšmingumas patvirtintas, kai p ≤0,05. Didžioji dauguma jūrininkų (87 proc.) yra kada nors rūkę per savo gyvenimą. Dabar apie pusė tiriamųjų nerūko, trečdalis jūrininkų rūko kasdien, 7,2 proc. respondentų rūko kelis kartus per savaitę. Kasdien mankštinasi tik apie penktadalis tiriamųjų. Daugiau nei pusė (55,8 proc.) respondentų sportuoja kelis kartus per savaitę (2 ir daugiau kartų), 16,3 proc. tiriamųjų sportuoja kelis kartus per mėnesį, o dešimtadalis jūrininkų niekada nesimankština. Daugiau nei pusė apklaustųjų dantis valo kelis kartus per dieną, apie du penktadaliai respondentų (38 proc.) dantis valosi 1 kartą per dieną, 6,7 proc. tiriamųjų dantis valosi ne kiekvieną dieną, apie 2 procentus jūrininkų dantų nesivalo niekada. Dauguma jūrininkų (73,1 proc.) akinių ir lęšių nenešioja. Per pastaruosius 12 mėnesių dauguma respondentų (76,9 proc.) nebuvo susižeidę, penktadalis tiriamųjų buvo sužaloti 1-2 kartus ir tik 2,4 procentai respondentų dėl sužeidimų ar nelaimingų atsitikimų į medikus kreipėsi 3 ir daugiau kartų. Dažniau susižeidžia kaimo gyventojai. Per pastaruosius 12 mėnesių nesirgo apie pusę (55,3 proc.) jūrininkų. 28, 4 proc. tiriamųjų mano, kad jų sveikata yra labai gera, 50,5 proc. – gera, 20,2 proc. – vidutinė. Jūrininkų švietimui, jų sveikos gyvensenos įgūdžių formavimui reikėtų skirti daugiau dėmesio.

Formation of healthy lifestyle among schoolchildren with overweight and obesity

Annotation. The problem of overweight and obesity in school children is considered. It is shown that the problem of child obesity underlie the development of many serious medical illness. It is introduced the analysis of publications on the problem of overweight and obesity in schoolchildren. It is defined methods for detection and possible nonpharmacological correction of the condition. The necessity of creating and putting into practice of long-term training programs to promote healthy lifestyle among schoolchildren are overweight or obese, to prevent the development of cardiovascular disease and other metabolic complications. Conceptually, it is determined the main directions of teaching and physical education students who are overweight and obese. It is shown that it is advisable to inform children and parents about the need to combine a balanced diet with exercise stress.
