We have performed cyclotron resonance and Faraday rotation experiments in n-type CdS at ultra-high magnetic fields far above 100 T which is generated by either electromagnetic flux compression or single turn coil technique. The electron effective mass of CdS is investigated for both B || c -axis and B⊥ c-axis over a wide range of the photon energy up to 225 meV , and significant polaron effect is observed in the vicinity of the LO phonon energy. In Faraday rotation measurements, the nonlinearity of the Faraday effect is clearly observed above 50 T by employing a wavelength close to the absorption edge of CdS.
