Effects of additives on via filling and pattern plating with simultaneous electroplating

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to solve the issue of via filling and pattern plating simultaneously by concentration optimization of accelerator and leveler in the electroplating bath.Design/methodology/approachThis paper designs a series of experiments to verify the performance of pattern plating with the via filling plating formula. Then the compositions of electroplating solution are optimized to achieve via filling and pattern plating simultaneously. Finally, the mechanism of co-plating for via and line is discussed in brief.FindingsTo achieve excellent performance for via filling and pattern plating simultaneously, proportion of additives are comprehensively considered in optimization of electroplating process. Effects of additives on the via filling and pattern plating should be taken into consideration, especially in achieving flat lines.Originality/valueThis paper discusses the different effects of accelerator and leveler on the via filling and the pattern plating, respectively. The process of co-plating for the via and the line is presented. The superfilling of via and the flat line are simultaneously obtained with the optimized via filling formula.

Three-dimensional foam-type current collectors for rechargeable batteries: A short review

Energy storage systems as lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have become an essential part of our lives, powering on-the-go technologies we use every day. Until recently, immense attention was paid to designing and synthesizing advanced active materials for LIBs to enhance the battery characteristics. However, not the least crucial part of the battery, the current collector, was left unattended for a long time. Therefore, it is not surprising that the batteries reached their limits in power and energy densities, leaving the battery progress equal to an almost flat line. The only way to go ahead with the battery technology would be to design new architectures or to investigate new materials. Changing the battery current collector from planar to three-dimensional (3D) would offer dimensionality to the electrodes meaning short diffusion length for Li-ions, which will boost power density, more active material, and mechanical stability. Herein, in this review, various 3D architecture current collectors will be summarized, and recent advances in synthesis routes will be discussed to point out the importance of 3D structures. In addition, the correlation between the electrochemical performances of batteries and current collector architecture will be reviewed. More than 50 research publications related to the synthesis and performance of different 3D current collectors were reviewed and compared. The review results suggest that despite the outstanding performance, currently used technologies to obtain 3D current collectors make them unacceptable in the commercial sphere, and cheaper, faster and simple synthesis routes are desired to be explored. • Three-dimensional foam-type current collectors for rechargeable batteries have been reviewed. • Different preparation methods of foam type current collectors have been overviewed. • Performances of different foam type current collectors are discussed.

Construction of a family of flat curves according to the equations of isometric grids

The article reveals an analytical description of the formation of families of orthogonal flat curved lines in the implicit form based on the analysis of the parametric equation of a flat isometric grid constructed by separating the real and imaginary parts of the function of a complex variable. This problem is due to the fact that flat isometric grids, as two families of orthogonal coordinate lines with square cells, are used in conformal mappings, for example, when drawing images on curved surfaces with the least distortion. At the same time, families of flat parallel lines are widely used in geometric modeling of heat transfer, electric fields, fluid flow, etc. There is a connection between these geometric images, which is explained by specific examples. Analytical calculations of deriving the parametric equation of an isometric grid are quite time-consuming, so they are performed in the environment of symbolic algebra Maple. For this purpose, the corresponding software of the interactive model of derivation of parametric equations of isometric grids for any initial function of a complex variable with the subsequent separation of its real and imaginary parts was created. It was found that the values of the abscissa and ordinates of the parametric equation of a flat isometric grid can be represented as explicit surface equations. For integer values of the power of the exponential function of the complex variable, the values of the abscissa and the ordinate will be represented by algebraic surfaces in the explicit form. The projections of the cross sections of the abscissa and ordinate surfaces by horizontal cutting planes on the horizontal plane form two families of curved lines, the equations of which can be obtained only implicitly. By the example of the quadratic function of a complex variable, it is proved that these families of lines are mutually perpendicular. The practical application of building a family of lines for geometric modeling of fluid flow lines that flow around the barrier in the form of a semicircle is shown. We display a symmetric monoidal equivalence between the stable ∞-category of filtered spectra, and quasi-coherent sheaves on A 1 / G m , the quotient in the setting of spectral algebraic geometry of the flat affine line by the canonical action of the flat multiplicative group scheme. Via a Tannaka duality argument, we identify the underlying spectrum and associated graded functors with pull-backs of quasi-coherent sheaves along certain morphisms of stacks.

Case overview/synopsis Indian Luggage market has an oligopoly structure with three major brands – very important person (VIP) Industries, Samsonite and Safari Industries Ltd. (SIL), holding around 90% share of the organized market. The market had evolved slowly, with the players offering limited assortment and having limited manufacturing capacities in India. SIL, having been in business for nearly 25 years, had been registering a flat top line. In 2011, the top management shuffle at VIP Industries witnessed the exit of the then MD, Mr Sudhir Jatia. Mr Jatia decided to acquire the majority stake of 56.55% for Rs 29 crores for the struggling SIL. What followed in the subsequent years was the resurgence of SIL to a noteworthy position in the industry. From a merely 2% market share in 2011, SIL went on to hold nearly 16% market share in 2019. This growth in market share, along with CAGR of almost 15% for the luggage market overall, has boosted the revenue of SIL by nearly 10-folds from INR 620m in 2011 to INR 5.73bn in the year 2018. Several reasons had been identified behind the growth of this company, such as – Mr Jatia’s leadership style, focus on profitable stock keeping units, acquisition of other brands, operational efficiency and financial infusion. However, the larger question was that – Will SIL, which had been following a challenger strategy to date, be able to overcome the leaders in the industry? What strategies should it pursue now? Response to the Precautionary Measures to Prevent Coronaviruses-19; after Decline of the Pandemic, Taif City, KSA

Introduction: In spite of regression of pandemic curve in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia there is fears of second wave especially during this winter.Objective: This study aims to explore the public commitment to COVID-19’s precautionary measures after the dropping of the cumulative curve towards regression, and to determine the role of society culture in the compliance with these preventive procedures. Methodology: This is a descriptive cross-section survey conducted in Taif city, Saudi Arabia. Using a convenience sampling method. Results: The score of society compliance with precautionary measures after regression of curve towards flat line was (3.72±0.47/) which considered high. There was a significant relationship between nationality and the precautionary measures to prevent COVID-19 (t=-2.34, p<0.05, = 0.02), the mean score of nonSaudi (3.88±0.36), which exceeded Saudi mean scores (3.70±0.48). Fewparticipants thought that there was overstatement against COVID-19’s precautionary measures. Conclusion: After regression of COVID-19 curve towards flat line, the level of society commitment to the preventive measures was still high. Most responders adhere to kept a distance from a person who has signs of SARS-CoV-2.

Orbital susceptibility of T-graphene: Interplay of high-order van Hove singularities and Dirac cones

Square-octagon lattice underlies the description of a family of two-dimensional materials such as tetragraphene. In the present paper we show that the tight-binding model of square-octagon lattice contains both conventional and high-order van Hove points. In particular, the spectrum of the model contains flat lines along some directions composed of high-order saddle points. Their role is analyzed by calculating orbital susceptibility of electrons. We find that the presence of van Hove singularities of different kinds in the density of states leads to strong responses: paramagnetic for ordinary singularities and more complicated for high-order singularities. It is shown that the orbital susceptibility as a function of hoppings ratio $\alpha$ reveals the dia- to paramagnetic phase transition at $\alpha\approx 0.94$. This is due to the competition of paramagnetic contribution of high-order VHS and diamagnetic contribution of Dirac cones. The results for the tight-binding model are compared with low-energy effective pseudospin-1 model near the three band touching point.

Performance and environmental assessment of prefabricated retroreflective spots for road marking

Road markings are necessary basic features that increase road safety; they are currently irreplaceable for both human drivers and the emerging automated vehicles technology. Retroreflectivity, achieved through incorporation of glass beads, is their key property, particularly important during driving at night time and in inclement weather conditions. One of modern road marking materials is cold plastic, which can be applied at either thick-layer structure or a thin-layer flat line and always must be reflectorised. An option for reflectorisation, particularly popular in Asia, is the use of prefabricated retroreflective spots. In a field test their performance was compared against two types of glass beads. The outcome indicates that the use of retroreflective spots brings no advantage either from the perspective of performance or environmental protection. The measured service life of road markings reflectorised with premium glass beads was almost three times longer as compared to obtained with the prefabricated retroreflective spots; initial performance was almost equal. Environmental assessment, based on series of renewals to maintain the required minimum retroreflectivity for 10 years, also confirmed significant disadvantage associated with the utilisation of the retroreflective spots. The use of premium glass beads would require only 29 % of titanium dioxide and 40 % of the resins that would be demanded with the use of retroreflective spots. Hence, from the perspective of long-term performance and minimisation of carbon footprint, utilisation of premium glass beads to reflectorise sprayed cold plastic was advantageous because they provided very good initial performance that was long-lasting.

Squaring Things Up with R2: What It Is and What It Can (and Cannot) Tell You.

The coefficient of correlation (r) and the coefficient of determination (R2 or r2) have long been used in analytical chemistry, bioanalysis and forensic toxicology as figures demonstrating linearity of the calibration data in method validation. We clarify here what these two figures are and why they should not be used for this purpose in the context of model fitting for prediction. R2 evaluates whether the data are better explained by the regression model used than by no model at all (i.e., a flat line of slope = 0 and intercept $\bar y$), and to what degree. Hopefully, in the context of calibration curves, the fact that a linear regression better explains the data than no model at all should not be a point of contention. Upon closer examination, a series of restrictions appear in the interpretation of these coefficients. They cannot indicate whether the dataset at hand is linear or not, because they assume that the regression model used is an adequate model for the data. For the same reason, they cannot disprove the existence of another functional relationship in the data. By definition, they are influenced by the variability of the data. The slope of the calibration curve will also change their value. Finally, when heteroscedastic data are analyzed, the coefficients will be influenced by calibration levels spacing within the dynamic range, unless a weighted version of the equations is used. With these considerations in mind, we suggest to stop using r and R2 as figures of merit to demonstrate linearity of calibration curves in method validations. Of course, this does not preclude their use in other contexts. Alternative paths for evaluation of linearity and calibration model validity are summarily presented.

Fetal cervical zygapophysial joint with special reference to the associated synovial tissue: a histological study using near-term human fetuses

Human fetal cervical vertebrae are characterized by the large zygapophysial joint (ZJ) extending posteriorly. During our recent studies on regional differences in the shape, extent, and surrounding tissue of the fetal ZJ, we incidentally found a cervical-specific structure of synovial tissues. This study aimed to provide a detailed evaluation of the synovial structure using sagittal and horizontal sections of 20 near-term fetuses. The cervical ZJ consistently had a large cavity with multiple recesses at the margins and, especially at the anterior end, the recess interdigitated with or were located close to tree-like tributaries of the veins of the external vertebral plexus. In contrast to the flat and thin synovial cell lining of the recess, the venous tributary had cuboidal endothelial cells. No or few elastic fibers were identified around the ZJ. The venous-synovial complex seems to be a transient morphology at and around birth, and it may play a role in the stabilization of the growing cervical ZJ against frequent spontaneous dislocation reported radiologically in infants. The venous-synovial complex in the cervical region should be lost and replaced by elastic fibers in childhood or adolescence. However, the delayed development of the ligament flavum is also likely to occur in the lumbar ZJ in spite of no evidence of a transient venous-synovial structure. The cuboidal venous endothelium may simply represent the high proliferation rate for the growing complex.

Trabalhando tópicos da geometria com o auxílio do Geoplano: uma experiência com alunos do sexto ano do Ensino Fundamental

O ensino de Matemática vem passando por mudanças significativas. Métodos tradicionais, antes aceitos, baseados na mera transmissão acrítica de conteúdos por meio de exercícios repetitivos e memorização de fórmulas, vêm sendo questionados em virtude de sua baixa contribuição para o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem do educando. Nessa esteira, o presente artigo tem como objetivo abordar o Geoplano como recurso didático no estudo de tópicos da geometria e analisar a desenvoltura dos alunos de uma turma de 6° ano do Ensino Fundamental na aprendizagem dessa temática com o auxílio desse recurso. Na realização desse estudo de natureza qualitativa, utilizou-se da pesquisa-ação colaborativa considerando uma experiência vivenciada em uma turma participante. Os resultados revelam que houve avanços nos níveis de aprendizagem dos alunos no que se refere aos conceitos geométricos estudados. Constatou-se, ainda, o envolvimento dos educandos nas aulas, sendo possível perceber as potencialidades de aplicação do Geoplano como um recurso didático, principalmente no ensino de figuras planas, áreas, perímetro, semelhanças das figuras planas, ponto, reta e plano.

Ethnomatematics are used as modes, styles, and techniques of "tics" to describe, understand, and deal with the natural environment and cultural "mathema" in different cultural systems "ethnos". This means that ethno-mathematics functions as a bridge between mathematics and culture in society. The purpose of this research is to describe the ethnomatematics contained in iron handicraft products. This type of research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. There are two subjects in this study, S1 as the owner and maker of iron handicraft products, and S2 as a helper in completing the manufacture of iron handicraft products. The methods used in data collection are observation, interviews, and documentation. This research focuses on observing ethnomatematics contained in iron handicraft products which include the concept of flat shapes, space shapes, parallel lines, ellipses, parabolas, congruence and kekongruenan. Ethnomatematics in this study the final results will be made as a package of math problems for class XI students.

Sentiment‐scaled CAPM and market mispricing

AbstractThis study explores the conditional version of the capital asset pricing model on sentiment to provide a behavioural intuition behind the value premium and market mispricing. We find betas (β) and the market risk premium to vary over time across different sentiment indices and portfolios. More importantly, the state β derived from this sentiment‐scaled model provides a behavioural explanation of the value premium and a set of anomalies driven by mispricing. Different from the static β–return relation that gives a flat security market line, we document upward security market lines when plotting portfolio returns against their state βs and portfolios with higher state βs earn higher returns.

Thermal Effect of Single Loop Shield on High-Voltage Cable Line Capacity

The paper deals with a single-loop shield with an asymmetric magnetic coupling used for a magnetic field mitigation of a high-voltage three-phase cable line. The goal is to evaluate a thermal effect of this shield on a cable line capacity. To calculate the flat cable line capacity in the nonshielded case, we use a standard IEC 60287. To achieve the goal we carry out a numerical simulation of the thermal field when the shield is installed. Wherein, we deal with two specific sections. One is a long section with the shield being distant from the cable line. The other is a relatively short section where the shield is located near the power cables. The thermal field is applied for a long section in a two-dimensional formulation, and a three-dimensional formulation is used for the short section. Hence, we have obtained the dependences of the maximum temperature of the power cables on parameters of the shield and its location height above the cable line. The most significant allowable cross-sections of the shield cable and their location height have been determined, when the thermal effect of the shield does not decrease the cable line capacity. These results have ensured the maximum cable line capacity while shielding. The shield temperature is shown to exceed the allowable level in the short section. To reduce it the thermal backfill has been used. We recommend the values of its thermal resistivity to be used for different parameters of the single-loop shield.

The Weil–Petersson current on Douady spaces

AbstractThe Douady space of compact subvarieties of a Kähler manifold is equipped with the Weil–Petersson current, which is everywhere positive with local continuous potentials, and of class when restricted to the locus of smooth fibers. There a Quillen metric is known to exist, whose Chern form is equal to the Weil–Petersson form. In the algebraic case, we show that the Quillen metric can be extended to the determinant line bundle as a singular hermitian metric. On the other hand the determinant line bundle can be extended in such a way that the Quillen metric yields a singular hermitian metric whose Chern form is equal to the Weil–Petersson current. We show a general theorem comparing holomorphic line bundles equipped with singular hermitian metrics which are isomorphic over the complement of a snc divisor B. They differ by a line bundle arising from the divisor and a flat line bundle. The Chern forms differ by a current of integration with support in B and a further current related to its normal bundle. The latter current is equal to zero in the case of Douady spaces due to a theorem of Yoshikawa on Quillen metrics for singular families over curves.

Simple mucinous cyst: another potential cancer precursor in the pancreas? Case report with molecular characterization and systematic review of the literature

Cystic lesions of the pancreas may range from benign to precursors of pancreatic cancer. Simple mucinous cyst (SMC) is larger than 1 cm, has a gastric-type flat mucinous lining, and minimal atypia without ovarian-type stroma. We report a new case of pancreatic SMC, coupling a systematic review of the English literature mainly focused on their clinic-pathological features. We reviewed 103 cases of SMC in adults (73 women), averaging 57 (range, 26–70) years. The SMCs were located in the body-tail region of the pancreas in 60 (58%) cases, presenting as single cystic lesions in 94% of cases; 43% of patients were asymptomatic. A preoperative fine-needle aspiration of the cyst fluid detected amylase and carcinoembryonic antigen positivity in 71% and 76% of cases, respectively. Patients underwent surgery mostly for suspected malignancy; in 83% of cases, a standard pancreatic resection was performed. Mean SMC size was 4.9 (range, 1.5–12.0) cm. Mucins MUC5AC and MUC6 resulted positive in 77% and 81% of cases performed, respectively, whereas MUC2 was negative in all but one patient. The SMC from our institution was characterized by a KRAS somatic mutation. The diagnosis of SMC should be considered when a solitary pancreatic cyst larger than 1 cm is detected in asymptomatic patients. To establish a correct diagnosis, an extensive histologic/immunohistochemical analysis is essential. The presence of a KRAS mutation highlights that SMC may represent another potential pancreatic cancer precursor.

Jitter Remains Stable Throughout a Single Fiber EMG Session in Healthy and Myasthenic Muscles.

Fatigability is the hallmark of myasthenia gravis (MG). It is not clear, however, whether there is an analogous increase in jitter during the course of a single fiber electromyography (SFEMG) session. The individual jitter values of all potentials of 76 normal and 44 myasthenic orbicularis oculi muscles were assigned a rank number according to their temporal order in which they were collected and linear regression was performed to determine if the slope of the regression line was significantly different from zero. Control and MG subjects displayed rather flat linear regression lines with non-significant positive or negative slopes. Accordingly, ROC analysis yielded areas under the curve near 0.5. We conclude that there is no systematic jitter increase during the collection of 20 potential pairs in a typical SFEMG session.

Internet antennas-busters are one of the most common antennas of suburban subscriber stations of broadband radio access systems. In many ways, the speed of information transmission in such systems limits the signal level provided by the base station in the entire operating band of the Internet signal. Since the antenna located on the wall of the house is stationary, it can be made relatively large, which allows you to implement a higher gain and accordingly increase the signal level on the router. At the same time, the market for such antennas is quite saturated with a wide variety of antenna designs, but due to the increase in the number of people working in remote mode and the expected transition to mobile communication systems 5G, it still continues to develop rapidly. The paper proposes a new design of the transceiver mobile Internet antenna-buster, whose main advantage is absolute imperceptibility when installed outdoors. We consider a planar in-phase 8-element antenna array installed on the window glass of a suburban building. As the individual emitters of the lattice are encouraged to use a planar wave dipoles. A feeding scheme for the antenna array on flat two-wire lines has been developed, which provides in-phase and almost equal amplitude excitation of all array elements of the array. Calculations of antenna radiation patterns in the range of 1700-2700 MHz are given. It is shown that the developed antenna has a gain of 8-9 dB in the range of 1700-2100 MHz and 10-12 dB in the range of 2400-2700 MHz. These values are practically not inferior to similar indicators of known collinear antenna arrays and in the upper part of the work range, they have a gain of 1-2 dB compared to their analogs. A planar array matching scheme has been developed that provides a VSWR of about 2.5 in the range of 1700-2100 MHz and no worse than 2 in the range of 2400-2700 MHz. Variants of constructing planar antenna arrays with broadband emitters that provide similar matching without the use of additional matching devices are presented.

The Principle of Equivalence: Periastron Precession, Light Deflection, Binary Star Decay, Graviton Temperature, Dark Matter, Dark Energy and Galaxy Rotation Curves

The nature of the principle of equivalence is explored. The path of gravitons is analyzed in an accelerating system equivalent to a gravitating system. The finite speed of the graviton results in a delay of the gravitational interaction with a particle mass. From the aberration found in the path of the graviton we derive the standard expression for the advancement of the periastron of the orbit of the mass around a star. In a similar way, by analysing the aberrations of the graviton and light paths in an accelerating reference frame, the expression for the deflection of light by a massive body is obtained identically to the standard result. We also examine the binary star system and calculate the decay in its orbital period. The decay is attributed to the redshift of the graviton frequency relative to the accelerating system. Here too, we obtain good agreement with experimental measurements. Also, hypothesizing that gravitons behave like photons, we determine the temperature of the gravitons in a binary star system and form the Bose-Einstein distribution. Finally, we show how the redshift of gravitons may be the source of dark matter, dark energy and flat line spiral galaxy rotation curves.
