Faraday’s rotation and magnetic susceptibility of an ultrathin film of topological insulator, placed in tilted magnetic field, are studied. A Hall effect analogue is studied in terms of Faraday’s rotation. It is an isotropic response and tunable with magnetic field. Susceptibility has three contributions; spin, orbital and spin–orbital. All three contributions are calculated for magnetic field tilted at an angle θ with respect to the perpendicular axis on the plane. Spin susceptibility for low temperature varies directly with Fermi energy, orbital part show diamagnetic divergence and spin orbital contribution arises as a step function at Fermi energy.
