The article is devoted to such previously little-studied objects in world science as drama, genre and style features and speech of characters in Kazakh dramatic works. The scholarly novelty of the article lies in the fact that on the basis of specific facts, genre features, dramatic situations, stylistic mastery of playwrights, the language of characters in plays in comparison with the works of other nations were revealed. The characters of the main characters, as well as dramatic dialogue and monologue were considered. Masters of artistic words, not content with the treasures of the literary language, are constantly learning the language that is accessible to a wide range of readers and in which priceless masterpieces of art are created. The research comprehensively studies the process of transforming a prose work into a dramatic composition. Features of the language of Platon Oyunsky's poetic works

The study of the linguistic and stylistic features of works, both in scholarly and practical terms, is relevant for stimulating the further development and improvement of the stylistic capabilities of the writer's language. The study of the linguistic richness of the poetic works by Platon Alekseevich Sleptsov-Oyunsky (1893-1939), one of the founders of Yakut Soviet literature, poet, prose writer, playwright and philologist, and his stylistic and artistic-visual means makes it possible not only to deeply and comprehensively evaluate the poet's works, but also helps to study the Yakut literary language, as well as the state of the art of the word of the first half of the twentieth century. In the Oyunsky’s poetry, the rich pictorial possibilities and artistic forms of the Yakut vocabulary are revealed. The language of Oyunsky's poetic works forms a peculiar style of the writer, which determines the ideas, thoughts of the poet, his mood. The material for studying the language of Oyunsky's poetry was the texts of the poet's poetic works from the book "Selected Works" (volume 1, 1992). The study used the method of continuous sampling and the descriptive method. Based on the analysis, it is concluded that the special, heroic, revolutionary style of the poet was created through his use of neologisms, paired, doubled words, synonyms, antonyms. Sensitivity to language, characteristic of the poet, is clearly manifested in the diverse implementation of linguistic means. In the Oyunsky’s poetry, semantic, lexical and stylistic innovations of general artistic means of expression are widely used.

This article examines the trends in the development of Kazakh children's literature in the 1950s and 1960s, focusing on its thematic and ideological orientation. It also delves into the creative world of poet Adyrbek Sopybekov, whose significant contributions to the field are explored. The author analyzes fantastic poems and other selected works by A. Sopybekov, considered the best examples of children's poetry, and paying close attention on their thematic, ideological features, and artistic aspects. Children's poetry during the years of national independence remains a relatively understudied topic. Examining the creative laboratory of poets who have worked significantly in this direction, and thereby studying the direction and nature of modern children's poetry, drawing conclusions about thematic and ideological features, artistic aspects, is one of the urgent tasks facing the science of national literary studies. While valuable insights into Adyrbek Sopybekov's children's works have appeared in the press, a dedicated, comprehensive analysis of his creative portrait within the framework of Kazakh literary studies is still lacking. This article aims to address this gap by offering a broader differentiation of the poet's work, thereby assessing his characteristic style, his methods of conveying artistic ideas to children, and the educational value inherent in his writing. Additionally, it seeks to evaluate A. Sopybekov's contributions to Kazakh children's literature of the 1950s and 1960s and to gain a deeper understanding of his poetic skill.

Code Completion Using Markov Chains

Modern software engineers use many tools to speed up the development process. Many of them use integrated development environments (IDEs), which provide services such as text editors, debuggers and even intelligent code completion. This paper is dedicated to the development of a model for predicting variants of program source code termination. To improve the accuracy of the model, we used combinations of Markov chains constructed using different ways of calculating the current context of the program: linear and with AST. The linear way of computing the context is an analysis of the tokenized representation of the source code. The second method, on the other hand, uses a representation of the source code in the form of an abstract syntax tree. Combining the different models preserves more semantic information about the code, also adding the ability to support custom code writing style features. In order to compare the different models, a new dataset has been created specifically for the Pascal language. A detailed comparison of the working mechanisms as well as the prediction accuracy on the collected data is given. The proposed model showed high enough accuracy of predictions with minimal computation costs, which allows using it in integrated development environments.

Unsupervised domain adaptation for remote sensing semantic segmentation with the 2D discrete wavelet transform

There would be the differences in spectra, scale and resolution between the Remote Sensing datasets of the source and target domains, which would lead to the degradation of the cross-domain segmentation performance of the model. Image transfer faced two problems in the process of domain-adaptive learning: overly focusing on style features while ignoring semantic information, leading to biased transformation results, and easily overlooking the true transfer characteristics of remote sensing images, resulting in unstable model training. To address these issues, we proposes a novel dual-space generative adversarial domain adaptation segmentation framework, DS-DWTGAN, to minimize the differences between the source domain and the target domain. DS-DWTGAN aims to mitigate the distinctions between the source and target domains, thereby rectifying the imbalances in style and semantic representation.The framework introduces a network branch leveraging wavelet transform to capture comprehensive frequency domain and semantic information. It aims to preserve semantic details within the frequency domain space, mitigating image conversion deviations. Furthermore, our proposed method integrates output adaptation and data enhancement training strategies to reinforce the acquisition of domain-invariant features. This approach effectively diminishes noise interference during the migration process, bolsters model stability, and elevates the model’s adaptability to remote sensing images within different domains. Experimental validation was conducted on the publicly available Potsdam and Vaihingen datasets. The findings reveal that in the PotsdamIRRG to Vaihingen task, the proposed method attains outstanding performance with mIoU and mF1 values reaching 56.04% and 67.28%, respectively. Notably, these metrics surpass the corresponding values achieved by state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods, registering an increase of 2.81% and 2.08%. In comparison to alternative approaches, our proposed framework exhibits superior efficacy in the domain of unsupervised semantic segmentation for UAV remote sensing images.

Industry 4.0 and Agile Project Management: Evolution of Leadership Concepts and Roles

This study examines the impact of Industry 4.0 on the concept of leadership approaches. The research aims to compare leadership theories before and after Industry 4.0, determine how leadership roles have evolved in agile project management, and identify effective leadership styles. The study employs literature review and qualitative research methods, specifically using focus group studies. Two separate focus group studies were conducted through online meetings and face-to-face sessions to thoroughly examine the approaches of executives from companies who have mature project management offices in Turkey. Data were obtained by transcribing the audio recordings of discussions during focus group sessions and comparing them with researcher notes. The study extensively examines the impacts of identified leadership styles, determined through literature review, on the management of agile project teams. Findings indicate that leadership styles such as visionary, organizing, relational, and social leadership play significant roles in agile project management. Additionally, leadership personality traits observed in each of these styles have been identified. The results underscore the need to redefine leadership approaches and highlight the effects of Industry 4.0 on project management. By linking the characteristics of leadership styles and their impacts on agile teams with the literature, the study contributes to future leadership research and practices. In this context, it emphasizes the development of technological competencies for organizations to succeed and the need for flexible and innovative organizational structures. Furthermore, it suggests that leaders in the digital transformation processes brought by Industry 4.0 should possess skills to facilitate their employees' adaptation processes. This study contributes significantly to academic literature and business by exploring leadership evolution in Industry 4.0 and redefining roles in agile project management, emphasizing ongoing focus on development and innovation in leadership.

Purpose of the study: To consider specific examples to substantiate the pro-Shibanid orientation of the work of Utemish-hajji, formed in the research literature. To analyze these examples in a comparative historical vein using a wide range of written sources, and on this basis note some stylistic features of the written heritage of the Khiva historian. The final part provides a brief analysis of the works of those medieval authors whose main focus is indeed on the Shibanid dynasty. Research materials: The main sources for this article were two manuscripts of the works of Utemish-hajji published in Russian – “Chingiz-name” and “Kara tawarikh”. Also used are synchronous Arab and Persian historians of the 15th–17th centuries, and materials from Russian chronicles. Research results. It has been determined that the arguments for the author’s pro-Shibanid position presented in historiography are not entirely correct, as demonstrated by relevant passages from the work of Utemish-hajji. In both manuscripts of the work, the Shibanid dynasty indeed occupies an important role, but politically it does not stand out from the rest of the descendants of Jochi. The only exception is the founder of the Shiban dynasty whose military exploits are highlighted by the author. In addition, Utemish-hajji’s poor knowledge of the genealogy of the ruling dynasty is noted, which indirectly indicates that the goals and objectives of the work he performed were aimed at building one’s own version of the history of the Golden Horde. This approach was partly due to the sources of the information received. The plot of the work contrasts strongly with works that can be classified as Shibanid historiography. A typical example here is the work of Masud Kukhistani, who built his work around the personality of Abu l-Khair. Separately, it is worth noting a number of episodes discussed in the article (the reign and death of Khizr, the end of the Batuid dynasty), information about which could be gleaned from written sources. All of the above raises pressing questions of research into the goals and objectives set for the chronicler, as well as clarification of the specific ideological orientation of the work.

Generating Artistic Images Through Neural Style Transfer Using Machine Learning and Image Manipulation Techniques

Neural Style Transfer (NST) is a computational technique that merges the content of one image with the stylistic characteristics of another, creating visually appealing compositions. Leveraging deep learning and image processing, this method separates andcombines the content and style of input images using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). The content representation of an image is captured by the high-level features extracted from a pre-trained CNN, while its style is characterized by the statistical correlations of features at multiple network layers. It explores the fusion of machine learning and image processing techniques in NST. Initially introduced by Gatys et al., NST has gained popularity due to its ability to generate artistic renditions and novel visualizations. The process involves extracting content and style features from separate images and optimizing a generated image to minimize differences in content and style representations. In this work, explored into the underlying concepts and technical aspectsof NST. This proceedings discussed the utilization of pre-trained CNN models like VGG19 or ResNet for feature extraction and how optimization algorithms, such as gradient descent, iteratively refine the generated image to achieve a fusion of content and style. Additionally, This development has been examined the impact of hyper parameters and layer choices on the quality of stylized outputs.Mainly this technology focuses on reduction of total variation loss, which we incur during the style transfer.These proceedings has carried on work with VGG19, XCEPTION, EfficientnetB7. These findings show how Convolutional Neural Networks can learn deep image representations and show how they may be used for sophisticated image synthesis andmodification.

Representation of Racism and Anti-blackness in African-American Proverbs

Proverbs have captivated researchers worldwide, since they mirror how cultures portrait folks’ social lives. African American proverbs related to racism and anti-blackness, among them, are made use of to expose how the culture of the Western world in general and of America in particular view racial attitudes in these sayings. By exploiting four analytical tools of critical stylistics viewed in Jeffries’ model, thirty proverbs will be examined (exemplified by five proverbs) regarding their stylistic features and racial-related ideologies. This paper schemes into how Indians are stereotyped in these proverbs. Through exploiting the selected critical stylistic tools, it concludes that the proverbs examined either implicitly or explicitly express how black people are treated racially and inhumanely in everyday settings and in proverbs as well.

“There’s no good, it’s just satisfactory”: perfectionism, performance, and perfectionistic reactivity in NCAA student-athletes

ABSTRACT Perfectionistic reactivity is a characteristic style of responding to adversity that elicits a bio-psychosocial response. Those with elevated levels of perfectionistic tendencies are thought to react disproportionately in the face of successes or failures. The present two-study paper was designed to understand the role of perfectionism in predicting season-long performance in collegiate golf while also gaining insight into NCAA student-athletes’ lived experiences of perfectionism and reactivity. In Study 1, self-report measures of perfectionism were collected from 46 NCAA golf student-athletes. Tournament scores were then recorded over the NCAA’s 12-week competitive season. Data were examined using a two-level hierarchical linear model to test the moderating effect of perfectionism on student-athlete hole-over-hole performance across an entire season. In Study 2, semi-structured interviews were conducted with six student-athletes from the Study 1 sample who had self-reported high levels of perfectionistic strivings and concerns. Data were examined utilizing reflexive thematic analysis. Collectively, findings suggest that there is still work to be done to wholly understand the influence of perfectionism on sporting performance. However, athletes revealed during interviews that they experience perfectionistic reactivity through a multitude of biopsychosocial dimensions related to affect, behaviour, and cognition. Findings will allow future scholars to examine different measures of perfectionism across different performance intervals while considering the conceptual and empirical underpinnings of perfectionistic reactivity. Furthermore, future research could be designed to understand the specific circumstances under which specific thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are experienced in relation to perfectionistic reactivity.

Writing a successful applied linguistics conference abstract: The relationship between stylistic and linguistic features and raters’ evaluations

The conference abstract (CA) is a promotional genre that is vital to academic success. However, composing a high-quality abstract can be challenging for both first (L1) and second language (L2) writers. Some researchers have performed contrastive analyses of accepted/rejected CAs, yet few studies have analyzed the extent to which different stylistic and linguistic features can predict reviewers’ scores. The current study furthers this line of inquiry, while also responding to scholars’ recent calls for more replication work in the fields of applied linguistics and second language acquisition. Using a corpus of 304 abstracts from an applied linguistics conference, the current study is an approximate replication that analyzes the extent to which 32 variables are predictive of CA raters’ evaluations. Data analyses consisted of multiple stages, including examining the relationships between CA scores and nine stylistic variables (e.g., rhetorical moves, study completeness) and 23 linguistic variables (e.g., grammatical errors, and lexical and syntactic complexity measures). Statistically significant variables were then entered into a regression model. Results suggest that seven variables accounted for approximately 25 percent of CA scores. The pedagogical implications of these findings are discussed for L1/L2 writers, along with future research directions.

Part-of-Speech Features in Bob Dylan's Song Lyrics: A Stylometric Analysis

Honoured as a Nobel Laureate in 2016, Bob Dylan's song lyrics have garnered well-deserved recognition and appreciation for their themes, content and artistic performances. Part-of-speech characteristics are effective in denoting stylistic features of texts in stylometric studies. The present study carried out a quantitative observation of stylistic features of Dylan's lyrics. Specifically, the study focuses on parts of speech like verbs, adjectives, adverbs, nouns and pronouns. Results of the present study reveal that: (1) Based on the distribution of verbs and adjectives, Dylan's lyrics are significantly active texts, and the activity sequences (Q-sequences) have validated the result in a dynamic way; (2) Dylan's lyrics tend to present the characteristics of a written body; (3) Individualism is prominent in Dylan's lyrics accompanied by the wide use of the first-person singular pronouns.

Modeling process for full forming sports underwear

Abstract Most of the sports underwear available is sewn using cutting and sewing techniques. During the exercise process, it is easy to cause discomfort to the skin due to repeated friction at the seam, and at the same time, it is also a waste of manpower and raw material costs. In order to address these issues present in existing sports underwear, during its design and development, combined with fully forming knitting technology, construction process model, so as to realize the integrated knitting of sports underwear. First of all, through the characteristics of the local style of sports underwear, the key points of its prototype were probed. Second, on this basis, its process model was established, including the forming methods and knitting rules of the body, shoulder collar, and bottom circumference. Finally, the feasibility of the technological model is proved by the braiding of a fully formed sports underwear. The change in the body size can be achieved by using the two-side braiding transfer method. The curve contour of the shoulder and neck can be obtained by using the triangular polyline segmentation method. The bottom part is divided into a cylinder part and a supporting part. The local braiding method is used to achieve the knitting. This study puts forward a process model and application method of fully formed sports underwear, which provides a certain method and reference for the design and production of fully formed sports underwear.

MUSICAL AND INSTRUMENTAL FORM CREATION AS A STRUCTURAL AND PROCESSIVE PHENOMENON: GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The article addresses the issue of form creation in instrumental music, which is considered one of the central topics in musicology. Instrumental music, due to its “purity” and lack of extramusical elements, serves as a basis for analyzing the structure of musical form. The author emphasizes the importance of musical form within the cultural system and its connection to the genre and stylistic features of a work. The article explores the role of theme, cyclicity, and programmatic elements in constructing a musical composition, as well as the significance of performative form, which is manifested through repetition. Special attention is given to the interaction of semiological, epistemological, and praxeological approaches in the study of musical form.

Robert Fleischer was the first, in 1963, to attribute a common workshop to a group of seven bronze statuettes of the late 2nd/early 3rd centuries AD, the majority of which had been found in the provinces of Raetia and Noricum, more exactly in the area of the Limes forts situated along the Danube (Straubing, Regensburg, Enns) and in their hinterland. What makes these statuettes so distinctive are their stylistic features characterised by a lack of artistic imagination and variation which results in a very schematic modelling of bodies and garments. This uniformity is due to the fact that the wax models were built up by using the same partial negative moulds. Meanwhile the number of bronzes to be attributed to this workshop has increased considerably; today we know of twenty-three statuettes and five single bases. As new types of deities Diana and Vulcan have been added. According to their findspots the statuettes were in demand primarily by civilians living in vici or villas in the densely populated area south of the Limes but there is evidence, too, for their use within military forts.

Investigating the Linguistic Fingerprint of GPT-4o in Arabic-to-English Translation Using Stylometry

This study explores the linguistic and stylistic characteristics of machine-generated texts, focusing on the output of GPT-4o. Using various natural language processing (NLP) techniques, including word frequency and stopword count analysis, readability and sentence structure metrics, lexical diversity measures, syntactic frequency analysis, and named entity recognition (NER), the research aims to uncover the stylometric fingerprints present in machine-generated content. The results reveal that GPT-4ogenerated texts exhibit moderate lexical diversity and syntactic complexity, with certain chapters reflecting higher readability and more varied sentence structures, while others lean toward simpler linguistic patterns. The findings also highlight thematic variation across chapters, as observed in the distribution of named entities, which contributes to understanding the model’s handling of different contextual content. The research suggests that while GPT-4o maintains a consistent style in its generated text, there are distinguishable characteristics that may serve as indicators of machine authorship. This provides valuable insights for stylometric analysis, authorship attribution, and the identification of machine-generated texts in various contexts. Future research could extend this work by exploring deeper stylometric features, conducting cross-model comparisons, and developing advanced authorship detection algorithms tailored for AI-generated content. Moreover, the ethical implications of stylometric analysis in the context of AI-generated texts warrant further investigation, particularly as machine-generated content becomes increasingly prevalent across different domains.

Flow style-aware network for arbitrary style transfer

Researchers have recently proposed arbitrary style transfer methods based on various model frameworks. Although all of them have achieved good results, they still face the problems of insufficient stylization, artifacts and inadequate retention of content structure. In order to solve these problems, we propose a flow style-aware network (FSANet) for arbitrary style transfer, which combines a VGG network and a flow network. FSANet consists of a flow style transfer module (FSTM), a dynamic regulation attention module (DRAM), and a style feature interaction module (SFIM). The flow style transfer module uses the reversible residue block features of the flow network to create a sample feature containing the target content and style. To adapt the FSTM to VGG networks, we design the dynamic regulation attention module and exploit the sample features both at the channel and pixel levels. The style feature interaction module computes a style tensor that optimizes the fused features. Extensive qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate that our proposed FSANet can effectively avoid artifacts and enhance the preservation of content details while migrating style features.

Large language models, social demography, and hegemony: comparing authorship in human and synthetic text

Large language models have become popular over a short period of time because they can generate text that resembles human writing across various domains and tasks. The popularity and breadth of use also put this technology in the position to fundamentally reshape how written language is perceived and evaluated. It is also the case that spoken language has long played a role in maintaining power and hegemony in society, especially through ideas of social identity and “correct” forms of language. But as human communication becomes even more reliant on text and writing, it is important to understand how these processes might shift and who is more likely to see their writing styles reflected back at them through modern AI. We therefore ask the following question: who does generative AI write like? To answer this, we compare writing style features in over 150,000 college admissions essays submitted to a large public university system and an engineering program at an elite private university with a corpus of over 25,000 essays generated with GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 to the same writing prompts. We find that human-authored essays exhibit more variability across various individual writing style features (e.g., verb usage) than AI-generated essays. Overall, we find that the AI-generated essays are most similar to essays authored by students who are males with higher levels of social privilege. These findings demonstrate critical misalignments between human and AI authorship characteristics, which may affect the evaluation of writing and calls for research on control strategies to improve alignment.
